(Q) P20 Pro: How to enable quick charge on Treble ROM's - Treble-Enabled Device Questions and Answers

Hi all,
Not sure if any info gained can be used to fix other devices but after using RR which is brilliant btw.
Quick / fast / super charge, non work. I get about 1070mA max from the native Huawei charger.
Have tried the only two Magisk modules available, not sure what to alter to get it to work.
Have read other users who've made a tweak for the kernel.
Anyone any ideas?
Be good to get some fixes done so we can get rid of the issues which are affecting all of us.
Currently on Oreo 8.1 Resurrection Remix.

did you mean fast charge for revolt kernel of magisk module? do you use revolt kernel? fast charge comes from (custom) kernel or any tweaks for specific kernel. you have to find custom kernel that supports fast charge.

What kernel? There isnt a single kernel in the development section for the p20 pro?
Link me to it if you know of it..
Personally I've washed my hands of treble..currently using AICP from the honor 10 which has fingerprint and super charge working.
Strangely though, the fingerprint button can't be used for navigation which sucks but besides that it's just fine.

so you meant when you were using aicp gsi you got fingerprint and fast charge working but not on rr? so it might be from gsi's bugs then. about magisk module you mentioned as far as i know it's for revolt kernel so it won't work if you're not using revolt kernel. i don't know if there's revolt kernel for your device, neither any custom kernels. i'm using ido unofficially treble-enabled which has kernel that doesn't support fast charge.

No mate the Berkeley ROM for the honor 10 which is AICP.
Which works fine..
There are no kernels for the p20 pro.
And I only tried that magisk module to see if it would hell.

so you are using stock kernel that supports fast charge? so it's rr bugs then. wait for rr dev.

? Yea I know mate, I was seeing if anyone knew, seeing as asking anything treble in the respective treble thread is pretty much a waste of time, as is asking in their q+a as everyone has a different device.
If you don't know how to fix it pal, just avoid posting.
Cheers.

Mokee is best..I've been using it for long time...right now I'm using cyanide...which has some criticalbugs bugs...gps not working...but it's the best customized Rom so far for redmi 1s. AICP Rom is also good. Mokee is best with God's kernel latest version.

SLIM 6 is where your search ends.
Marshmallow roms almost are same just 5%-30% different from each other in matter of performance, battery, mods compatibility and almost all roms has it. There are so many workarounds people claiming that they r not having them now by adding music player(and related mods if any) to battery optimization or Use custom kernel (set cores to 2 online while screen off or disable hotplug). And by far after using almost all roms and kernels i have settled with this config MiUi multi rom 6.7.7 + Phantom kernel v7 + Viper4Android+Project X crystal sound so far I'm getting 12H standby+3H SOT I'm medium to heavy user. You can also try LP roms (Especially Flyme most beautiful rom for redmi 1s) they are best but not updated coupled with gods or xcelerate is great. If you want only MM try Mokee MM(almost bug less).

Well , Exodus is the smoothest and fastest mm ROM for redmi 1s. It's fast and fluid. Moreover no audio suspemd bug is there on stock kernel of this ROM. It's feature rich too.but believe me I have tetsed it for 3-4 months and it's the best ROM in terms of fluidity and speed. Second choice is slim which is still under development

It is AOSP based compared to LOS (CM) which the majority of the ROMs posted are.
DU is a great ROM. I found that it lacked some important features that I like, but a very solid ROM.
Yes i tried on Sprint but there was no data...even after entering the apn in

Encryption was not working, even with a full data format prior to flashing.
Any other opinions?
I have been running the weekly and official builds with nebula eas kernel for about 5 weeks or so. I personally feel its the best non-sense based ROM for my usage. It does lack some customisations most others have but makes up for it by being super stable, fast, battery friendly and just works as its supposed to with bull. I use superSU, substratum and A.R.I.S.E audio mod with selinux permissive without dramas.

To reverse the question, can I use it as clean Android without root, passing SafetyNet? Thanks!

It comes WITHOUT root. So you can choose your preffered method or no root at all.
I don't know about safetynet as I am not using android pay or anything that relies on it to pass.
Also I have not had any encryption issues as someone earlier replied

401.4 FW and 3.1.0 TWRP. What kind of encryption issue? I did have once only rebooted into recovery and it asked for the password but I just rebooted in recovery from TWRP and it never happened again.

I've tried several combinations, with older/latest firmware.
Every time, It would ask for the encryption password on bootup.
Even if I haven't set one up.. With data format prior to installing
Anyway, got sick of re-setting apps on my phone, just installed Maximus HD ROM, and that's that ?

I think it was the DU team's decision to close all and not allow any XDA threads. Someone correct me if I am wrong.

What variant , firmware and TWRP are you using?
Everytime I try that rom..it encrypts itself with an unknown password, and upon restart I'm unable to access my phone

I have had that happen when switching from a sense based ROM to LOS or AOSP and it's a "pita"... Anything that I want to keep gets moved to my SD card before I reboot to recovery.
I read through several threads and tried several possible solutions so I can't remember exactly which one worked.
I am currently on Verizon, official Nougat with the flashed us unlocked "patch", TWRP 3.1.0-1. If you are on Verizon or Sprint you need to patch the image with a missing image that is found in the us unlocked model (there are threads discussing it where you can find the file).

It was not related to the data partition.
The format user data was done prior and after flashing it.
There is a DU Oreo-based build for the HTC 10: https://download.dirtyunicorns.com/?device=pme
For the time being it is under "RC". Downloading now, will report back!
Edit: ROM is very nice and is flying by. Only downside is that camera app is VERY slow... Also, woofer is not working (as expected).
What I like the most is that it is AOSP, i.e. no LineageOS stuff like AudioFX, etc. Customisation features are nice and the experience is close to Pixel with Stock OpenGapps. If the camera app is fixed, then this would be perfect (I believe it will, since this is the first RC release)!
Further notes: Capacitive buttons backlight is off by default (can't find any standard option to turn on, maybe with a kernel tool?) and notification LED does not work either. Don't mind for the capacitive buttons too much, but the LED is a real problem.

Ideal ROM to have on your Z2 Plus!

Hey there,
I have started using this ROM for a while and the Combination of this ROM and the Kernel is great!
The ROM I am talking is AOSiP. Though this ROM is Unofficial and quite old, the developer i.e. ankit99 {https://forum.xda-developers.com/member.php?u=4924861} has done a fabulous job in maintaining the stability and functionality of this ROM while keeping Bugs minimum!
The Kernel I am talking about is called Jaguar Kernel. If you are in the development of ZUK Z2 Plus, Jaguar ROM is hard to resist due to its mind blowing stability. This Kernel is derived from the very same ROM. Probably the best Kernel I am working with. Dark Moon and Heliox are great without any doubt, just they never worked great for me on any ROM.
Instructions:
1. Take a Nandroid backup first. In case anything goes wrong, you should have some back point to restore.
2. Wipe Dalvik Cache, Cache, Data & System. I recommend deleting Android folder from Internal Storage (sdcard) from TWRP File Manager.
3. Flash the ROM, Gapps (Use 7.1 & 64-bit ones, for Z2 Plus).
4. Flash the Kernel at the last and wipe Cache/Dalvik and reboot!
5. Note, First boot will take some time.
6. Post features, I recommend dpi as 380 to be ideal for Z2 Plus.
Enjoy your Android Experience!

Thank You!

Regarding Fingerprint Scanner, it works simply great! It responds almost 99% of the times and quite fast even more than stock ROM according to my experience. And the fact you say about no notification issue, there is an Option to automatically enable DND during calls in this ROM and it disables immediately after call is hung. So, you should not encounter such issues practically. I am using this ROM for a while now and really in Love with its stability. Go for it!:good:
I have attached a screen shot regarding the Auto DND during call option.

No man, as long I have used custom ROMs, this feature is toggleable in this ROM itself!
Im running PureFusionOS + Jaguar Kernel for about 2 months now, and the feature set + stability from it is perfect. I would wish that PureFusion could have better performance/battery efficiency though

I would recommend this ROM for your daily driver as it is a mix balanced performance and battery life, providing almost stock Android with lots of customizations! Also, a MIUI camera flash would be the icing on the cake.:good:

How is the audio clarity and quality when compared to the stock ROM? I have stopped flashing any custom ROMs - be it Oreo or Pie just because of this issue. Also, could you please share the full camera version that you are currently using - is that without the Portrait mode? Also, how much screen-on time are you getting?
Hello there... this post got my interest too. I have jumped back and forth between stock and custom. It is sad "for me" that it seems most devs have given up on supporting / maintaining Oreo 8.1. Everyone is trying to iron out the bugs in a Pie custom... however, I simply want the stability to be there... especially with the camera features and battery life. I am not a gamer either, btw. With all of that said, I have a question or two please.
1. Why did you quote using an older version of Magisk? Is there a compatibility thing that I should be aware of?
2. With the Gcam mod you referenced, does stability work smoothly while recording video? I have found that in many custom builds the stability mode can be jerky and no too smooth.
TIA

Best CUSTOM ROM in the history of XDA?

Well hello there my name is San, I've been using P2 from many years I have rooted the device on the next day I bought it. I've used countless number of custom ROMS upto now. As per my experience there no ROM is 100% perfect every Rom has its own bug or problem. I just want to ask the developers or users to suggest me a BEST ROM MADE FOR LENOVO P2 so far upto now (andriod 7 to 10) which doesn't have any bugs or problems and everything is working.

Which version of stock rom?
Currently I am using nougat version of stock rom I don't find it so impressive I don't know why but the charging speed of this ROM is not fast and battery efficiency also decreased as compared to another ROMs battery is draining very fast while using the mobile.

Yes brother, lineage os 16 is the best I know that because it was my last rom since 1 year. But I've bored of it.
If you don't mind Please Can you suggest any other ROM apart from lineage os?

Can someone shed some light? Thinking to flash Syberian 2.9, Syberian 3.0 or Lineage 17.1. Battery performance and stability are my main priorities.
Syberia 2.9 is the best around for now.

Try Mokee 9 first it works flawlessly and is still being updated with latest security patches.

The nougat stock rom has broken battery information, so battery monitoring apps such as accubattery do not work.
