LineageOS and NFC payments - HTC 10 Questions & Answers

I run the last LOS nightly with Magisk 11.1. Magisk Hide is checked, Safetynet passes. When I touch the NFC terminal with my phone , the terminal show the following message: "Read chip, Mag Strip, try another card". Phone is S-OFF and unlocked.
Any idea why I can't use NFC/pay?

Yeah, the terminal thinks its a chip card. I think it's the banks'/google's issue. Has nothing to do with LOS. Happens to me too. It works on some terminals but not others. Very weird issue.

I unlocked the bootloader @ HTCdev.Com. Afterwards I s-off'd with Sunshine which states its best to leave the phone locked. Could this be an issue?

Installed your kernel when I read it disabled the verifiedbootstate check. Uninstalled Magisk(app and twrp uninstaller) to leave no trace of root. Safetynet passes, same error at the terminal...aaaargh!

It's the way apay is pushing the card info. It will work on some terminals.

Does that explain why my android pay works fine on the ICE rom, which also passes the safetynet?

Have you tried them on the same terminals? If you haven't, this might explain it. If you have then LOS has an issue with HCE.

Yeah, the same shop. I am using your LOS kernel because of the safetynet pass. That said, I had to install magisk and magisk hide to pass safetynet, which I didn't test with the default lineageos kernel. Would magisk hide the lack of the boot verification, or do I need the LOS and magisk in combination?

You know i think magisk might patch it. Try with default kernel and magisk and report back. If it works to actually pay I'll try removing the patch from my kernel.

I dirty flashed the original lineage zip, then magisk, made sure magisk hide was working, and the NFC went through fine

Try turning NFC off and on again.
Do you have the exact same config as me? LineageOS (default kernel), magisk + hide, safetynet passed?
Are you trying with terminals that worked before?

OK please try the attached kernel.

I didn't flash your kernel yet, but I did try an NFC payment this morning with no luck. I think the issue must be with LineageOS somehow.

OOS 3.2.8 with Root, xposed, Pokemon Go working?

I usually run BJRR 10/18 with SuperSU SR4, SuHide v0.55, and Rootswitch, which safety net passes and PoGo works.
Is there a way to get Root, Xposed, and PoGo working on OOS 3.2.8?
I would like to try out all the new kernels that only support OOS atm

The magisk and phh superuser combo works on my phone. But when I enable xposed, the safetynet check fails. So, if you have xposed installed that could be your problem.

How can I change my Android Emojis to Emoji One without Root or bypass Safetynet ?

Hello Guys,
I have a Oneplus 3 with Oxygen OS 4.0.1 with locked Bootloader atm because when I try to use Android Pay with Root and Freedom OS it doesn't work
I figured out that this Safetynet fails when I unlock my Bootloader but
I would like to get the EmojiOne Emojis back in Whatsapp and Android Keyboard is this Possible ?
Is there a Way to bypass Safetynet that I can use Root and V4A again ?
(I already tried Magisk)
Greetings
Magisk has an emoji one module, root, etc while passing safety net

It doesn't work on Oneplus 3 because it's nearly Stock and the Safety Thing checks for unlocked Bootloader......
I managed it by installing a custom Whatsapp Mod and maybe a custom Keyboard soon.....

In fact, Magisk patch the bootloader dm-verity (which is used by SafetyNet to check if your device is unlocked), so juste flash a completly stock system, check SafetyNet, and Install latest Magisk with the modules you want, reboot and you're good to go !

Working perfectly with the normal way of unlocking, installing TWRP and flashing Magisk
What can you do with root before it breaks ? (Xposed,Substratum,Adblocker or V4A working ?)
What were your Steps to get it working ?
Do you still have the DM-Veriy Warning on Boot ?

I'm running Open Beta 13 with an unlocked bootloader and Magisk with Substratum. I would recommend unlocking your bootloader, flashing stock, then rooting with just Magisk, not SuperSU. I followed these steps and I have it working, SafetyNet passed.

Its working perfectly on op3 with magisk. So relax.
You must check magisk hide in magisk settings ofc.
Running latest freedomOS CE and all good. Magisk, safetynet, V4A, abblock, substratum. All working.
So stop saying it doesnt work with unlocked bootloader, thats just bull****.
Update to latest version of Freedom OS.
I think you should try updating your ROM to latest version of Freedom OS. Has everything you need.
Thanks Guys
It works

Any One Using op5t 8.1 custom rom but bypass the safetynet check?

using lineage os 15.1 in my op5t but canot use the fingerprint or google pay, anyway to bypass that, the device is already rooted by systemless magisk
I am passing with OOS xxnolimitsxx with magisk.
I'm passing with Lineage OS latest build. No Root. But you must use custom kernel as stock kernel does not cover up unlocked bootloader.

Get rid of magisk. It's unreliable! Had it fail many many times when it comes to Google pay.
All I've done though, on a clean device, Flash lineage build, Flash gapps, Flash custom kernel. Franco, new kernel, Blu spark, whatever you like. Boot up. You'll pass safetynet.
Remove XPosed. It's detected by SafetyNet.

You can run magisk if you want, but just realize it's not the most reliable for covering itself up from safetynet. I've been screwed multiple times by it and that's why I don't bother with it anymore.
I am surprised everyone is having bad experience with magisk.. I haven't had an issue yet with safety net or Google pay.. Xposed is what's causing the issue

Soon as i rooted the kernel with magisk i lost data and wifi. Turns out with gsi's one must use phhh superuser to root or that happens.

I just switched to a treble ROM and have the same issue, I guess we should report it to the Magisk thread. Personally I don't have a reason to use Magisk and I don't use GApps but sometimes the modules are nice.

Game guardian

Has anyone got game guardian working with 7x/Se? I've heard there is this thing called ptrace for debugging which was removed in new updates. If someone made a fix pls tell me. Thanks

I'd really like to know how you got it to pass safetynet on nougat firmware, it's kind of a deal breaker right now. I prefer my device pass safetynet rather than hack a few games lol. But, if I can pass it I'm definitely downgrading.

I also have nougat and with magisk pass both cts and basic.
Do you have exposed installed? With exposed you can never pass safety net.
And with you recent flashing with dc-unlocker and the change of oeminfo. You could possibly have some issues preventing safety net to pass.
Also not sure if custom kernel could affect it. Are you running on the morfuze kernel?

No, I do not have xposed, or anything that modifies system partition for that matter. You see, I never passed safetynet on nougat even before DC-Unlocker. (Also I restored the BND-L24 OEMINFO.) On Oreo it works perfectly, both CTS and basic integrity pass. I'm fully stock besides the patched boot image. The stock boot image passes basic integrity but when I flash the magisk patched boot image it fails safetynet basic integrity and CTS(Only on nougat)

It would be quite weird if it did work since it uses the same process as patching boot manually.
