[Q] Downgrading to KK ROM - Three UK

Hi,
First time poster, long time trawler... thanks for all your info over the years.
I have a specific question about downgrading to KK from L on my branded Three Mobile UK.
I had rooted on KK and was loving it, everything was working great.
Three kept pushing the OTA at me, but because of root it wouldn't take.
Borrowed a PC (I run mac for work) to run LG Suite and (back up first) fix upgrade errors to unroot to take OTA.
For some reason it bricked it...it just sat on Firmware update at 0% forEVER. Wouldn't boot past it or recognise the device anymore.
Had to use the Mobile Support tool to bring it back to life... although this resulted in an upgrade to 5 anyway.
I'm really not a fan of L. Won't go into details as to why it sucks, but I want to go back to KK and root, and then wait for L to get root options.
I've never flashed a ROM before, however there's a ton of resources here so I will give it a go.
I want to go back to the exact same ROM that came with the device which I THINK I have tracked down to - D85510g_00 via

Can anyone confirm that would be the right one... Is there any reason why I shouldn't use this ROM?

as lang as you have an d855 it will not be bricked and the brand apps wikll be automatically reinstalled as soon as you hav an working internet connection

I have the KDZ file, USB drivers and LG Flash tool already downloaded... and intend on following this guide - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2785089
I have seen in the second method mentioned in that guide - TOTs and DLLs, could you confirm that these are different paths to the same goal? Either I need KDZ or I need TOT & DLL... but I don't need KDZ and TOT and DLL? Have I understood that correctly?

Help, I rooted my phone and I get a warning everytime i open it

So after foolishly updating to Marshmellow and discovering that all my apps no longer update in the background, i flashed my device to the LG G4 V10D-226-01 software version, the 10D Europe Open from the LG g4 "Go back to stock rom" thread.
Problem is, everytime i open my phone i get "Warning: Current version is not available for user. Cant find matched cust for Nt-code mcc/mnc[22601],subset[ff]. I have looked both on google and here and everything i found was for the G3 model and it involved using a "custom restore" image. but no explanation on how to use it, its not a KDZ so i cant flash it.
I'm pretty new to all this and everything i wanted was to go back to my Lollipop variant after seeing how Marshmellow behaved on my phone. (not auto updating my background apps).
I appreciate any help you guys provide.

u cant downgrade once u go to Marshmallow. Its a security thing tht was updated in the latest firmware b4 Marshmallow came out. Ur gona hav to start all over again wth the latest KDZ b4 Marshmallow

I reformated into a Lollipop KDZ by flashing my ROM from the "Go back to stock" thread. Problem has appeared after i did that. I am currently on Lolipop v10D

nobody has any idea on how i can solve this issue?

download the kdz file for your device from here and flash it using LG UP here. all will be fine. i downgraded from MM to LP after MM had big battery drain. many people have downgraded using this method.

i did that, problem is, i'm from Romania so i dont see my countries ROM there. I have used the classic open eu one and the barebones one and no matter which i use i still get that warning when i open my phone.

Hello guys
i want your helP guys, i have a rooted stock lolliPoP on my D855 and i want to uPgrade it to marshmellow, so how can i unroot my Phone
because i have read many articles and some guys had a lot of issues when they tried to unroot their devices.
by the way, i have tried to unroot using the "suPerSU" but i didnt work
so is it necessary to install a fresh stock rom for unrooting!

Marshmallow isn't out yet. Only the source code which is useless for users.

but for my Phone it gives that there is a software uPdate and started to download it and it was about 300MB, so is that what you are saying that it is just a source code!
and sorry for this but bexause i dont know but can you exPlain the difference between the source code and the offical rom!

the software update you're seeing might be v21a which is still lollipop, not marshmallow
source code is a bunch of code for developers to use while the official rom is a kdz file released from LG that can be flashed, or OTA from LG.
EDIT: also, if marshmallow update is here it would be v30a or something like that

If you received an update it was probably 20A like mentioned or a Lollipop update. Source code isn't used update over the air. Its for developers.
When you get Marshmallow update, Im assuming will be bigger than 300mb and it will mention what kind of update it is (stating Marsmhallow).

THANKS A LOT GUYS, YOU WERE ALL RIGHT, IT WAS JUST AN UPDATE FOR THE LOLLIPOP, 21A, AND BY THE WAY FOR THE COMING UPDATE IF ANYONE WANTS TO GET THE OTA UPDATE AND HE HAS ROOTED HIS PHONE HE CAN EASILY FOLLOW THE FOLLOWING STEPS
1. Download LG PC Suite from LG's website - you must select model type before you do so, but as far as I can tell it downloads the same version regardless.
2. Update the app so it recognises the G3 - this should ask you to update automatically on opening the app, if not you can do it from the "help" menu.
(NB: if you have used some of the KDZ flashing methods on here you may have issues updating as your hosts file is probably altered to block the PC Suite gaining a connection).
3. Connect the phone via USB (the app allows for a wifi connection but this is very restrictive, you require a USB connection for this).
*OPTIONAL STEP* If you want to go back to a truly stock experience then unfreeze any apps you have frozen (I am unsure if having apps frozen will effect OTA installations, it should still work fine, in theory).
4. With the device connected go to the "phone" menu in PC Suite and select the option that says "Restore Upgrade Errors".
5. It will then scan your device, download the rom and begin flashing, this is all automatic without any further input from you, do not cancel it.
6. The phone will reboot when finished. You are now unrooted and unmodified and OTA's should work.
*OPTIONAL STEP* If you want to go back to 100% stock then its probably a good idea to factory reset your phone at this point - this will wipe your whole device (of course).
And there you have it, your quick(ish), painless method for being able to unroot to accept OTA's without requiring a wipe.

LG G3 D858HK10d Unable to find a way to update to Marshmallow, stuck at KitKat

I purchased a second hand LG G3 quite a few months back, only to find out after trying to update that my version was the D858HK, which does not seem to have any official way to update past KitKat on the phone. After some digging around, I did find some methods, like flashing the KDz file. However, none of the KDz files I've found on the internet seem to match the model of my phone, which is D858HK10d, or v10d.
I was wondering if there is any other way to get rid of KitKat and move on to the newer versions.
It is rooted.

LG PC Suite doesn't recognize the phone. And the kdz files there dont include the model of my phone, which is a D858HK10d.

Where are you getting the model #? The 10d part may refer to the ROM as 20x would be LP, and 30x would be MM.

10d is the Software Version of Android KitKat..
Your device is D858HK.
So you can proceed installing that kdz file.

LG Bridge and OTA won't update

Both won't update to pie....I've used a method find here from a guy with LG up and now I'm on Pie. The update completely reatore my phone so I've start from scratch.
Now found a new update form my EM version, but another time LG bridge cannot check the installed firmware and the OTA too cannot find anything new.
Please help
(I'm on win 10, debug usb on, and the phone is recognized on bridge)

Yeah OTA may not work depending on what model you have and from what region is your phone.
LG Bridge also doesn't work since it checks IMEI and if it matches the firmware region. It knows when something doesn't add up
If you want to update you can find the correct firmware for your phone or use an older LG UP version to update without losing data.
Either way I find it useless to update since it's just a security patch and nothing more

Can I update via LG Bridge after unlocking and root? Wont it brick the phone?
How to I find out which KDZ file to download? My phone is EM, Central europe. Or it doesnt matter? What is the difference between rom regions? Is there any universal unbloated EM kdz?
