stock rom and visionarys custom kernal???? - Elephone P8000

has anyone tried using the latest stock rom and custom kernal by visonary is there any improvement ? with and without custom kernal and is there still bugs in latest stock rom

Don't use visionarys kernel with the latest stock.
Elephone changed paths in the new ROM, so blueflame4 has to rebuild the image.
Look at his thread, to keep up to date.
Cheers

The kernel manages the hardware but not the features in the ROM. If Elephone screws the ROM a custom kernel won't help.

Doesn't matter what they've planned, under the GPL they have to. They just haven't done so yet, but it will come.

I'm relatively new to android and updated to 1.36 hboot without knowing I couldn't go back. How long did they take to release the ICS source earlier ? thanks

They have 90 days time to release the source after the update.
So its not that long anymore

[Q] Sense vs Original ROMS, stability

Hello, I'm currently on a Sense ROM (Revolution HD 15), I didn't had any problems so far but I want to upgrade to a newer ROM version.
How an original ROM is comparing to a Sense ROM in terms of stability? I'm using NOVA Launcher so I didn't really care about Sense UI.
what do you mean with original rom...do you mean pure android like CM or AOSP rom? there is also already revolution hd 20.1 out...try it out it's really fine

I mean AOSP, there are some nice apps that work only on 4.2
I don't really have much time to try ROMs that's why I asked. :good:

which apps do you mean work only with 4.2.2? and no one can say which is the best because you have to see it yourself because not for everyone kernel and rom are working the same...therefore if you have time try it

In my own experience, Sense ROMs have better battery life. Lots of Mods are available and we have great roms over there which are fast, stable and bug free.
But AOSP Roms come with lots of goodies. Especially PA Roms with lots of customization (Nice UI manipulations there). You will be able to feel the essence of Android. 4.2.2 is super fast and super smooth.
You may check it for your self, it's really hard to say in words! Everyone should try it once. Trust me!

I wanted to try DashClock Widget
I think I'll try latest version of Android Revolution.
From what I read I need to upgrade HBOOT. Can someone point me to a simple to follow step-by-step? (also I only have Windows 8 installed)
I don't know if it's me or installing a new ROM is so much harder than on Galaxy S.
Also I did a nandroid backup and I wanted to copy the back-up on my PC. I connected the phone via USB, and the clockworkmod folder was empty, I had to uploaded on Dropbox from my phone to be able to save it on PC.

What rom do u use?

What rom are u using for ur Galaxy note 10.1 201, clean rom or bindroid megablast?
If u used both, what are the major differences and pros and cons of each?
I'm using clean rom with bindroid kernel.
My tablet was kinda disappointing when I got it due to all the lag. CLEAN Rom took it to another level and bindroid kernel took it another level. so I'm really curious about megablast as well
Make a nandroid backup and try megablast rom. No one can tell you how a rom performs for you as we all have different usages. Just try a rom out if you want to... we already had one thread like that and it is not very popular on xda to compare different roms.

[REQUEST] Paranoid Android 4.4

Hey all guys here
The PA Team just released the RC 2 of their new build based on Android 4.4.3, I would love to see this ROM on our device because it has some very user friendly things, like Hover or the CM11 theme engine which is quite good. Maybe some dev like @surdu_petru or @tksla could bring that to our device? I would do that myself but unfortunately I don't have a PC which would be able to build Android so maybe some other dev could do that. That would be so awesome!

Best ROM ATM for ELE P8000

Today 12/21 - answer me please..
What is the best ROM to install at Elephone P8000 and why?
There is 'no best rom' they are all good. There are not many roms so I suggest you flash a few and see what is best for you and your needs.
I think many are reasonably happy with stock, seeing as how the p8000 basically comes pre-rooted - allows you to run all your fav root-only apps without having to flash.
Once I got the hang of the flash tool after a bootlooping OTA, I tried Eragon and very happy so far. I cannot tell you how happy I am to have picked the p8000 and found a developer with such good support.

The eragon rom is a mod of stock rom and works very well, but my favorite is nexus rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/elephone-p8000/development/rom-nexus-t3235626 because it's a clean rom, moreover includes the double tap natively. I hope I've helped.

I never said Eragon was the best - it's the only one I have tried
Joking aside, it seems quite clean and snappy, battery life is great and very close to stock ROM so no great change in how I use my phone.
I'm sure I will get restless and try flashing something else soon, just to try!
