Lollipop battery drain - T-Mobile, Samsung Galaxy SIII

Yesterday I installed LP and I've had a major issue. Battery drain. During normal use the bottom half near the SD and sim card heats up but the rest if the phone is normal. I've gone through privacy guard and went through just about every app and shut down the problem ones like Google play services with little to no results. Ivreally love lp and any ideas to help me out would be great

[Q] Battery drains very fast

Hi,
During the past week I have a very strange problem in my Galaxy Nexus.
Battery suddenly started to drain very very quickly.
After 8 hours while I am sleeping in which 3G \ Wireless \ location services\ sync etc. are closed I lose 25-30% battery. (Before this happened I would have lost only 10% in this situation).
Of course while using the device the battery drains even faster.
Luckily I have 2 batteries and use both actively, second battery started act like the first, so the battery is not the problem.
In the battery usage screen there is nothing suspicious.
I installed Wakelock Detector and Better Battery Stats, everything is fine there too.
I have Greenify and I hibernate all the unnecessary applications.
I had a PA rom when it happened, then I switched to SlimKat, same problem. Then again I returned to the PA and the problem isn't vanished.
Between changing ROMs I've erased the phone.
I've also tried to put custom kernels but nothing helped me!
I have no more ideas, can someone please help?
Thank you very much!
I noticed this too, under battery info in settings I found the only culprit to be the latest/updated Google Play Services that kept preventing my GN to enter into deep sleep mode and the only way to fix it was to force close this service.
But then every once in a while it would start running again, so now I've just put a shortcut icon on the home screen to help quickly force close it from app info.

Lollipop Sense Battery Life

Even though I have since moved back to KitKat I want to look into the battery life problem I was having. Google Play Services always took the highest amount of battery. Both screen on and screen off had Google Play Services at the top with screen off battery showing nothing but google play services and nothing else. I did not change my usage pattern from KitKat. So what about lollipop caused this? Its not GPS polling since I set my phone to battery saving and while I did see a difference it wasn't enough to put a dent in my battery usage.

Any solution to android system battery drain?

It's killing my battery just as much as the screen is. Android os is always the 3rd culprit. I've tried uninstalling Google services erasing cache reinstalling then rebooting, that did nothing. I tried keeping GPS on in battery saver mode that helped but halfway thru the cycle it started back up again. I'm not gonna bother calling vzw because of course they'll act like they've never heard of the issue before and just tell me to do a factory reset which I've done. Oh yeah this phone is a replacement my old one died last week and also suffered from this issue also

Do you have an SD card in it? Try backing up the data and formatting it with the phone. See if that resolves it. I had insane battery drain issues on my phone, ended up removing the sd card altogether and haven't had any battery drain issues since.
The only way to really see what is going on is to use an app like GSAM battery monitor to analyze what is draining your battery. You will get much better insight when you root. I was able to identify apps that drain my system, and then either uninstall them or greenify them. For instance, I noticed that the MyFIOS app drains battery like crazy, uninstalled it. I have a Polar watch, and the companion app drains battery, so I greenified it. Also, turn off all the background synching, scanning, location etc, that helps quite a bit.

Battery/Lag issues since replacement & 6.0 update (AT&T)

After my original phone went into bootloops after the marshmallow update, I got a replacement within 1 day (thanks, AT&T, they really surprised me with customer service on this one). Unfortunately, my replacement has been full of issues. For starters, I used to get maybe 1% per hour max battery drain with idle and screen off with location and sync on (would be 97-99% in the morning if it was 100% before sleep), but now it is 5+% per hour, same battery as before, even switching it with my spare, no difference. I have Greenify installed and have a decent number of things greenified, but I don't want to have to also turn off location and sync just to get still worse battery life than I had before. A factory reset did not fix the issue. Google Play Services seems to inexplicably be taking more battery than phone idle now but it is not enough to be explaining this battery issue fully.
Also, I get lag in various applications, including pre-installed system applications. Most noticeably, Chrome and Chrome Beta have the same issue of freezing 3-10 seconds before the page is completely loaded which is an extreme nuisance. Reinstalling the apps and clearing the cache/data did not help. Various system applications run with lag too. I moved some applications to the SD card and the settings app was lagging so terribly it crashed a few times.
Any ideas to my phone woes?

Apps Only Update After Restart - Battery Drain

My T-Mobile LG G3 D851 has been running fine for 2 years. Over the past 6 months or so, the phone would not update apps unless a restart was performed. This was fine for me, as I would just restart once every few days and get the updates then.
But for the past week or two, the battery has been draining like crazy. Once I restart and the apps update, the battery drain slows down, but it still goes down much quicker than in the past. I've installed Greenify. I've studied the battery drain in Settings and it first appeared to be Google Play Services hogging up 40% of my battery, but installing Greenify seems to have nullified that. Right now, it looks like Android OS is causing the phone to lose battery.
I've also ordered another battery and am waiting for it. I'm not sure if this will help. The phone is generally warm/hot to the touch near the camera and button area (upper half).
Rooted, Xposed, stock rom with no OTA updates ever since I bought the phone in 2014, froze some stock T-Mobile apps and bloat
Can anyone help me?
