[STOCK][ODIN][TAR] L710VPUDNJ2 PC Odin Flashable ( Sprint ) - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S III

** Stock sprint .tar NJ2, UNROOTED, untouched, from SamMobile**
** Keeping this as simple as it can be **
x Unzip the files to the Odin folder ( comes with 2 files, the tar, and the ss_dl.dll, Extension should be .tar.md5 @ 1,531,471 kb. )
x Set device into download mode ( Vol Down + Home + Power, press Vol Up on dialog to continue )
x Open Odin ( I recommend v3.09 ), load .tar file into "PDA" or "AP" slot. ( Depending on which Odin you prefer to use. )
x Plug in the device. ( Optimal using rear USB Ports @ 2.0 and the original device cable it came with. )
x Take a look and make sure there's a box reading COM:## in Odin at the top ( Doesn't matter about the ## as long as it reads COM: ), and wait for drivers to successfully finish installing if it hasn't done so already.
x Select Start, and wait for it to finish.
xx It'll be ~15 minutes tops, So do whatev's you do in that moment of time.
Keynote: When I restored using the tar myself, it did not remove data, so wipe beforehand as a necessary precaution.
Download file ---> HERE <---
Please leave a message if the .tar or mirror link is busted, i'll gladly upload again.
Devs can use as a base if needed. no need for thanks no need for credits, as long as
we're pushing things out for the community and make em all happy

Samsung, for the device.

If I missed anyone, please leave me a message as I will add effective immediately. Or be shot down by Dev's so they can remove this post
effective immediately.

I might Need This

Doing a quick download on my end because my upload speed was wonky. If anyone else would like to try odin stock unrooted as well.

Yep, link is good, download is good, .tar odin flash is good.
root method working using Odin flash twrp 2.8.4.0 d2spr, flashing supersu v2.40!~ ( Initial start up, if removing knox the first time doesn't work, reboot device and go into supersu again to disable knox on stock odex in supersu app. If that method doesn't work, download rootchecker app verify su, and it should work that time )
Screenies.

You can use ND8 ROMs, but since MK3 you can't downgrade your firmware, it's not going to change.

I didnt see the NJ3 tar on Sam Mobile :<

Grrr! Built 3 versions of the new ROM and only 1 booted. But it required the meta-inf from ND8 to boot and the about device info all said ND8. Guess I'll try again tomorrow.

[MODEM][CWM][ODIN OC] EG30 Modem CWM flashable + *ODIN ONE-CLICK*

Hey guys this is the modem.bin everyone's been waiting for in a CWM flashable zip.. Thanks to Przekret for the awesome leak!
** Check out the NEW ODIN One-Click package I made below **
Read First
Use this to go from EG31 to EG30 first THEN update to a newer modem like EK02.
If you are using Rogue Recovery 1.1.0 or 1.1.3 Outlaw, you must update to Rogue *Stock EK02* Kernel v1.1.1 before flashing this or it will hang
Looks like there is an issue with Rogue Recovery 1.1.0
For those of you on that version try updating your kernel\CWM first
1. Download here: Rogue *Stock EK02* Kernel v1.1.1
2. Flash kernel in CWM
3. Reboot back into recovery
4. Flash Modem zip
Click to collapse
It might take 1 to 2 minutes to finish flashing.. So be patient
If you are still having trouble, make sure that the downloaded zip file is not currupt. Verify the MD5 hash with a program like HashCalc (Windows), gHasher (Linux), MD5Checker (Android)
MD5:
Code:
92e96ec30237ace9bd9bcf778e19dfd0
If it doesn't match, re-download zip file, and try re-flashing through CWM.
*NEW* How To Flash in ODIN One-Click:
Download and Open EG30_MODEM_ODIN-OneClick.exe
Reboot into Download mode (Power + Vol Down) and Connect Phone to USB
Click Start once you have a COM port ready
Wait for about 1-2 minutes for it to complete.. Progress bar will be at 100% the whole time so don't get scared and be patient
You phone will reboot once it's finished

yeah, still not familiar with samsung devices but HTC devices would instabrick if you pulled battery during a modem flash. Because I was worried, I didn't want to boot into the OS before download mode so I pulled the battery.
I'm sure it would have been fine either way since there are people that have flashed roms to their phone section in odin

Yes the specific version is 4.2.2 MDL which you can see in the first download link.
There are no newer or other versions of the rom, this is the latest and the greatest!
This guide will get your phone back up and running properly with
the Samsung Galaxy Touchwiz Jellybean 4.2.2 MDL official rom.
Easy and sure way fix your problem - Here is s step by step guide:
First make a new folder on your windows desktop.
Download the Samsung Galaxy S4 M919 v4.2.2 Odin flash rom: http://hotfile.com/dl/213546261/7ab...-SGH-M919-TMB-M919UVUAMDL-1366964131.zip.html
After downloading unzip/extract the new stock rom you just downloaded using Winzip or 7zip
into the new folder you just made so the TAR file is in it.
Download and extract Odin into the same folder you made containing the TAR file
Here is the link for Odin: http://d-h.st/Q14
• Download ODIN which is required for flashing the stock rooted firmware (a windows app)
• Download the Odin Flash firmware for T999 Tmobile then copy it to the same folder as Odin
• Run Odin by double clicking the Odin.exe within the same folder as the TAR file you extracted
• Turn off your phone and boot into DOWNLOAD MODE (Volume Down + Home + Power Hold until phone powers up, then release and press Volume Up to enter Download Mode)
• Once in Download Mode, connect the USB/Charger cable to the phone and plug into the USB port on your computer.
• You should now see a COM** port listed toward the top-left of Odin (under ID:COM)
• Click on the PDA button in the middle-right area of Odin.
• Browse to and select the Firmware you downloaded (TAR file)
• Make sure Auto-Reboot and F. Reset Time are the only options checked and that PDA is the only other thing checked.
• TRIPLE CHECK your settings and that you have selected the correct firmware for your model phone and are using the correct options.
• If you are using a laptop, make absolutely sure you are plugged in, or if on battery, that it is charged enough and will not go into sleep mode during flash.
• Click Start to begin the flash. This will take a while, so be patient!
• Once complete, in the top-left box in Odin, it will say PASS and the phone should have automatically rebooted.
• You may unplug the phone and close Odin if you wish.
• Wait at least 5-10 minutes for the system to boot the first time and then build its cache!
• (It may seem to hang during boot, this is normal and you must be patient!!!)
PLEASE NOTE: If your phone is NOT a Tmobile Samsung Galaxy Model M919 do not flash this rom.
Good Luck!

I AGREE 100%
Its less stress to easily give a answer and help someone regardless of whats asked, as apose to the energy exerted by bashing someone , more thought, time , and choice phrases and negativity goes into the careless remarks people leave others. who cares...whats asked of the 1000s of people on xda theres, gonna be one or two who has time to try and help. We dont need 20 people who feel the need to wipe a noob under the table, just cause they are the Moderators Little Pets!
I think it pisses me off more than anyone.
Youll find I have many helpfull replies throughout xda forums , wether I have time or not , wether I know the correct answer for the OP or not" I still try my best.
Xda is way out of control with this standard of hierarchy. At the end of the day Its still only a website for people on there down time to play with a phone.
It Holds no key to everyday real life.
Lets oust these goons one by one.

FAQ's
WARNING:
FLASHING MC2 RECOVERY WILL REQUIRE YOU TO ODIN A NEW RECOVERY
Q: TWRP/CWM is giving error XYZ?
A: Update to latest recovery, redownload file & check MD5, reinstall.
Q: Why doesn't this include modem XYZ?
A: Because I felt like it.
Q: Will this work on...
A: Stop. No, just the L900, & I've only tested on Twhiz. I havent tested on CM but I'm sure it's fine. CM folks please test & report.
Q: I read an error in Aroma saying modem not installed, what do I do?
A: Try again, if issue presists use a diffrent modem until you can get the one you want working. Also look here.
As long as the MD5 checks out it's probably a borked script. A damn comma I bet!
Q: My question isn't in the FAQ or thread?
A: Cry about it. :silly:
MOD Q: Why did you post this here? PREPARE TO BE MOVED!
A: Hold on fair and accurate Moderator, in the rules I felt it was conveying apks and themes, & this is firmware.

Simple. Stock rom, zipaligned and rooted. Will add some goodies later.
Note: Devs ARE FREE to use this as a base to update their roms. No need to ask. No need to PM. Nothing. I don't even really care if you give credit or not since it's just a stock rom. Have fun :good:

What is firmware? Everything that is not in the OS itself. Meaning modem, bootloader, etc.
Basically, this will NOT flash the knox bootloader. That's all I meant
Just curious out of the people that have flashed this Rom...has anyone tried to go back to their backups. I have tried to do a restore and im getting stuck on the splash screen after all is done. I would suggest being cautious before going back until we have a for sure answer. Thus far i have tried to restore twice and then flash an entire Rom...all times i am getting stuck at the splash screen! Again just be cautious of going to a restore or backwards at this point.
Thanks CNexus... Please anyone can help with link mirror.
If there is a torrent link i appreciate that.

So screen rotation doesn't work at all right now?

Screen rotation is inverted does not work if you flash the wifi fix...meaning it will be upside-down in landscape now matter which way you turn
---
For devs, deodexed version is up in the OP! Have fun guys, I'm out.

May I assume correctly that if I am running Freeza's MD4 ROM, that would be the same as stock for all intents and purposes?

Yes, me. All day between this and MOAR
Question: what would I have to do to get this to flash over top the official OTA of MK3? I'm going to try some stuff (cache wiping, and possibly ADB sideloading), but could you give me a little help on this? Desperately want/need root for most of my phone's functionality. I have tried just flashing on top of my current version, but it says there was s signature error. Much appreciated.
So flashing this would be like flashing any other ROM? Sweet

[ND8][4.4.2][TW] Flashlight Toggle [deodexed]

I put this together to help folks with development. Anyone can take these and build from them to have the toggle available in their project. I expect they will work on other d2 variants as well as d2spr but I don't know for sure. The apks are deodex and you can find the information I used to put them together following CNexus' thread HERE, HERE and HERE.
The first zip is a flashable that contains the Stock, otherwise unmodified SystemUI and SecSettings apks. The only modification being that the flashlight toggle has been added.
*A person on stock rooted deodex (will not work on odex!) can flash this, then run CNexus' "Add_flashlight_toggle.zip" found HERE to activate it.
The second zip (Non-flashable!) is the stock system/csc/feature.xml with the only modification being that, "CscFeature_Setting_DefNotificationPanelOrder" has been added. This is how I got the toggle to be available on a fresh flash. Thanks goes to talkingmonkeys for the info on that in the original thread!
Downloads:
SystemUI+Secsettings
csc/feature
Thanks:
Thanks CNexus, talkingmonkeys and tdunham, for all the work you did to make this possible!
Disclaimer: Flash/use at your own risk!
*It is important to note that there may be additional issues I don't know about and as I am a truck driver, not a programmer I may or may not be able to fix things.
Everyone is encouraged to do what ever you like with anything I post, but a little credit would be appreciated.
Awesome, thank you!

That was the worst toggle ever to get working, thank you.
I saw you were having trouble with it. I like the solution you all came up with! :good:
just curious btw I'm stock & rooted
1. flash SystemUI and SecSettings
2. to activate it, flash cnexus Add_flashlight_toggle.zip?
is that correct?

TY sir, worked perect! My backup S3 is now on ND8, Rooted, De-Knoxed & De-Odexed with the addition of this awesome Toggle and all is perfect. Now on to test out the Launchers! LOL.....
:highfive:
I am stock rooted, but on a odex ROM. Would it work?

No, you must be deodexed to modify things like this.

Well let me go grab the deodexed file right quick, and give this a shot. Thanks for the reply.
I downloaded the deodexed ROM from CNexus, then SystemUI+Secsettings, and finally "Add_flashlight_toggle.zip". It was acting up by not turning on, then turning on, and then not turning off.
Now, I had a brain fart and did not add the file csc/feature, because I followed the route below...

Its not necessary to use the csc/feature unless you want to make a ROM and have the toggle available at flash. To add this to the stock ROM just flash then activate.
Edit: what do you mean by "SystemUI+SecSettings" ?

Ah, then I did it correctly the 1st time. Damn that sucks then, It was very buggy with the on/off, and then how it would not turn on or off. Hmm, I wonder what went wrong?
What do you mean by "SystemUI+SecSettings" ? Did you get them from somewhere else?
Hi everyone, I attempted to flash the systemui+sec zip along with cnexus add flashlight zip to my stock odexed rom before the question was answered. My settings menu was lost upon reboot so i restored a backup. I realized that i lost my data toggle but was able to find cnexus fix for that, but am just realizing that i don't have a 1x data icon and only the 3g one shows. Was the 1x icon never there on the stock rooted rom, or did i lose it? Any suggestions to get it working? Thanks in advance

I'm not totally positive but I think in ND8 that the 1x icon does normal exist.
Maybe try dirty flashing the stock odexed rooted ND8 zip?

@nyles The 1x icon does not show on stock. The SystemUI needs to be modded for that to work so its nothing you did.
Edit: this mod is for deodex ROMs. If you're on odex, after flashing use a file Explorer and delete the left over odex file for the SecSettings and SystemUI files then reboot and let us know if that worked for you.

No, I used yours.
Now I'm thinking, did I flash them in the correct order! I think I flashed CNexus 1st, then users.

Flash my apks first. Then flash CNexus zip to activate it.
