yes, can pull, but it comes out to about half. Be careful not to separate it from your smartphone

From what I noticed, the paper has to be completely inserted into the smartphone to be able to insert the SIM card.
I don't know if there as insert it again on your smartphone if it is removed.

You will have to remove it.
otherwise the SIM will not fit.
I have been through it.

[Q] HELP!! Emergency Calls Only?? SIM works in other phones.

I recently dropped my phone in water. And now when I boot, I get Emergency Calls Only. I cant make or receive calls/sms. My SIM card works well in other phones. Also, other SIM cards dont work on my phone.
Is this a physical damage? What if I reflash baseband? Will it help?
Please reply.
Carefully clean the contact pins that read the sim card. I bent one once and had the same problem.

[Q] Sim Card not found

I have been using the Korean LG G3 for a while with my AT&T sim card and I did not have any problems up till now. I have pulled the sim card out and put it back it multiple times now and it will still not be recognized. Does anybody have any ideas on what I should do? Thanks in advance!

Try getting a new sim card, and go from there. The issue could be that your sim card is old, or your phone does like it anymore for whatever reason. Alternatively you could try the same sim in another phone if that's an option.

Thanks for the quick reply. I have actually already switched the sim card and it is working on my other phone. So I am pretty sure something is wrong with my phone not the sim card. I have also reset my phone one time. Still nothing. Any Ideas?

You could back it up and do a hard reset this isn't ideal, but it usually fixes things.

Just hard reset it and it is still not working. I think it might be a hardware problem.

Check the slow where you put your sim card into and see if any don't look like they are contacting the card. I wouldn't mess with them, because they are fragile just look.

I looked at the pins and I'm guessing those are the ones in the top of the slot. It seems like two pins to the very right are not touching the card.

I have the same problem in my skandinavian (international (unlocked)) i think it has something to do with the boot speed(fast boot) because i got it to work when i backed my phone up and it rebooted but it always happens again when you just pull your battery out when the device is still on i factory reseted and it fixed it self permanently
I'm having a similar issue as well with the Verizon version. It won't read a micro sim (the one that was activated in it) but it will read a nano sim that I have placed in an adapter to make it fit. Both sims are Verizon, active, and have different numbers. I have no idea what the issue could be.
EDIT:
It seems as if a pin or two weren't making contact with the sim card. After putting a little piece of 3M tape on the sim card, it created enough contact and all is well.

I have the exact same problem if i put a micro sim card it wont read but if i put a nano sim with a sim tray it will work...any solution..
I know this is an old thread, but I wanted to post an update just in case someone else was having this problem. I ran into it with my VS985 a few weeks back. First it was just not reading my sim, but then got worse and wouldn't read any sim I put into it. I was able to correct it by slightly adjusting the pins on the sim reader. I took needle nose pliers/ a knife and gently bent them up a bit. After doing so the phone immediately read my sim card.
I hope this helps someone else if they encounter the same issue.
I have a similar problem. My G3 only accepts and sees one sim card, the one from my old provider. With all other sim cards there is the message "no sim card detected". I tried different working sim cards, no of them are being detected. I switched my provider a few weeks ago and since the problem exists. Before everything was fine.
I also tried adjusting the pins a little bit but so far nothing helped..
OK, I have the same issue: my G3 shows "no sim card" message. The solution is to replace the sim card/microsd slot. However, my phone is not covered by warranty anymore and the incredible honest guys here in Brasilia (Brazil) want to replace the whole main board and charge me for it. So, I'll have to replace that slot by myself. I bought two slots on eBay (search for "lg g3 sim card slot"). Micro soldering is not an easy thing, but there are some videos online that can help. And, if necessary, you can always look for a repair shop to do it for you, providing the piece (the slot). Until the slot replacement, you can try this, it's working for me: I noticed that if you ever accomplish to start the phone normally, you should never power it off to keep it going on! It seems that the sim card is "checked" only at boot time. (I managed to keep my phone connected to the operator for days, but after a stupid friend of mine restarted it, the error came again). To help getting a successful boot, with no sim card errors, I suggest to firmly press the sim card/microsd against the phone while it is starting, from the moment you release power button until the lock screen is shown. This proved to be very reliable, at least for now.

Thanks! This worked for my Sprint LG G3. Kind of a pain to boot while holding the SIM card down but it'll do until I upgrade my phone.
Also, I noticed you don't have to reboot the phone - it will also check for the SIM card when updating PRL. So you can go to Settings->System Updates->Update PRL while holding down the SIM card. Once the PRL update completes it should recognize the card.

Yes, it's hard to hold the simcard through the boot time. Here it takes 30s...
Unfortunately, GSM versions don't have PRL option. And I haven't found another way but rebooting.
Reboot your phone multiple times until it detect the sim card. Once done go to security then set up sim card lock and and enable sim code identification. Now wen you reboot your phone it will ask to enter the pin code to unlock your phone and it will detect your sim card.
The issue is because it rebbot too fast i guess.
For the boot loop issue change your battery.
Thanks all, i set little schotch tape on my card now it can recognize it!
SORRY FOR MY BAD ENGLISH!
The pressing down during startup method worked for me! Took a few tries though, and it only worked when I removed the micro SD and pressed directly on the SIM.

it means you should determine which side is upper and which is lower side before you attach the sim. and about the circle, make sure that it should be as per the attached pic, the sim chip must be within the memory card.

A3 SM320FD ( Dual Sim ) 2017 hybrid slot sdcard and sim simultaneously

Hey guys,
did anyone tried to use 2 simcards and sdcard with the new 2017 A series phones? with the sim card cut and glued to sdcard method?
I tried it, but for some reasons the phone doesn't see the sim card glued to the sdcard. I tried the sim in another phone ( normal microsim slot ), and it works.
I was thinking, maybe Samsung disabled this feature from firmware... curios if anyone got it working.
Thanks.
did anyone tried?
sorry to bump an old thread - i have a 2017 A3 and have the same inquiry. did anyone try this and succeed ?

I think i read somwhere that the sim might be pushing the sd card away of the pins. Maybe adding tape over the top of the sd might resolve it.

I've tried nano sim card adapter/extender and it's work just fine. You can buy one of them at aliexpress.com :fingers-crossed:

I can confirm that it works! both, the 2 sims and the sd-card are working flawlessly!
The whole process might appear a bit risky but in my case it was absolutely easy and the result is great!
I´m using an SAMSUNG 64gb sd-card - i only sanded off the small upstand at the end of the card by using an nail-file.
For getting the chip out of the sim, a simple hair-dryer with approx. 60°-80°C worked!
