It doesn't remove bootloader, It requires a bootloader unlocked device.

Finaly! Thx man!

As @Pyr0_Bl4de said, "Unlocked bootloader" means that you need to unlock your bootloader first before using this ROM. Another thing is unlocking the bootloader will probably void/cancel your warranty, so keep that in mind.

which recovery is this rom safe on? ive tried flashing the TWRP 2.8.0.1 but am getting mismatch partition. would TWRP 2.7.1.1 work?

Use TWRP v2.7 for flashing. v2.8 seems to have some issues.

Congrats! ROM will be added to index ASAP!

edit: i didnt realize xt1068 was the dual version.im on xt1064 single sim and flashed this rom. i know..my dumb self all on me.. is there any way to restore back to complete stock xt1064? i made a backup before i flashed the rom i tried to restore it but because of different model number it said fail. i rebooted the phone and it all booted up as a fresh xt1064 phone as if i just factory reset the device. i have data signal ,everything seems to be working fine. again sorry for my misunderstandings and errors i came across.

sorry..upon my stupidity i didnt realize xt1068 was the dual sim as i have the xt1064 single sim.i flashed back my backup but got a fail.i rebooted the device and it booted up just fine as my regular xt1064 model as if i factory reset the phone so none of my stuff restored,which is fine by me as long as my phone still works.ill just redownload my apps again

I assume this wouldn't work on XT1069? Nice work btw

@Pyr0_Bl4de Try to include Viper4Android and Extreme Beats Studio instead of DSP manager in your next build. Although you would need the Permission of @Applicare Studios and @zhuhang to include them in the ROM. It's totally worth it.

[Q] Problems with a boot loop on CDMA after flashing CM9

Sorry for the trouble, I know these questions get asked often here but I've been searching around and it seems like I'm getting conflicting answers everywhere I look. I'm trying to use this kernel: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1844049 with this ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1772897
I'm unsure of exactly what order to do everything in. It seems like this should be correct, no?
full wipe in recovery
flash kernel zip in recovery
flash boot.img in fastboot
flash cm9 in recovery
Am I totally off course? My phone is obviously still functioning...to an extent. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Edit: just tried again with the above steps. Same issue. Boots into CM9 as expected, then about 30-60 seconds later it reboots itself. I know there's something I'm missing, I just can't figure out what :\

If that doesn't work see if you can't find a newer boot.img (helped me on AOKP)
Alright. I just tried that and I'm still encountering the same issue. Maybe I'm just paranoid but now it seems like the reboots are happening faster than before.
edit: tried flashing AOKP just for the hell of it. Even after following these instructions to a T, the same thing is happening:
* Download ROM and GApps
* Make sure you're running the latest version of your recovery
* MAKE A BACKUP
* Wipe cache/dalvik
* Wipe data (only if coming from another JB ROM / ICS) (NOT Needed for updating, but recommended for full effect)
* Flash ROM
* Flash GApps
* Boot into Bootloader
* fastboot flash boot boot.img (The one inside the ROM.zip)
* reboot

Let me guess, Virgin Mobile, and if you check, I'll bet your current radio version ends with .9xx. Flash the original Sprint RUU to go back to the old radio and you'll be good to flash ROMs and kernels.

Anyone else getting FC every time the AOSP keyboard try's to popup ?
EDIT: reflashed without gapps and it's fine, but as soon as I flash gapps the FC come back on popup keyboard. Otherwise rom seems fast, everything else seems ok at first glance but I flashed back to a backup cause the ROM in unusable without the keyboard.
So we don't have to be on the 4.2 bootloader for this to work? 4.1 bootloader will be fine?

The 4.2 Bootloader is preferred, but I have only tested it on the 4.2 bootloadee (my own build). Off course you can try if you are still on the 4.1 bootloader. If the ROM does not boot, then you will know

Did you build yourself? Because there is no nightly build yet to download.
If you downloaded the latest nightly from get.cm, and flashed the 4.3 gapps then it would be a bit logical that you get a fc because you flashed 4.3 gapps on a 4.2.2 build.

After I saw that you recommended CWM for this ROM, I downloaded and flashed it. It ****ed up my device, only allowing me into CWM, not even fastboot. That gives me ADB, but CWM wont mount anything, so I cant flash anything...PLEASE HELP ME!!!
I believe you need TWRP 2.5 instead

The new bootloader requires TWRP 2.5 instead - I am a firm believer in CM recovery for all my recovery needs except this. Please correct me if I am wrong, but currently as far as I know, TWRP 2.5 is the only recovery that works with the new Android 4.2+ bootloader. Check the basic threads for the background.

Can I update from 10.1? In my galaxy s the partition layout for 10.2 is different from the 10.1 cm so it required a full wipe.

From another non-virtual partitioned ROM:
Make sure you have the latest OFFICIAL TWRP installed.
Backup current ROM if desired
Back up EVERYTHING on your internal SD card to your computer (the internal SD card WILL BE ERASED in the next step).
In TWRP, go to Wipe -> Advanced Wipe -> check Internal Storage -> press on "Repair or Change File System" -> press on "Change File System" -> press on "EXT4", and then swipe to start formatting the internal SD card. This can take up to a minute.
Wipe Data, Cache and System.
Copy the newest version of my TWRP recovery to your device and flash it.
After that is finished, go back to the main menu, then go to Reboot and press on Recovery.
Once the device has rebooted back into TWRP recovery, goto mount then uncheck and recheck data.
Copy and flash the new ROM and your GApps package to your device and flash
Reboot system
Connect your phone to your computer and copy back your backed-up internal SD card data to the internal SD card.
Repartitioning is completed. Enjoy your 8GB of additional app storage space.

Flash ROM and GApps
Updating to a newer version:
Just flash ROM and reboot.

Cant wait to have RIL working to start using this!
It only took me 5 years for my first CM rom, thanks.
I'm using it sans SIM, too.
I had a few issues with TWRP, but I pushed through...
My Herc's capacitive buttons have gone to crap, but the onscreen nav buttons work great.
I'm still learning 6.0 M, so thanks again for the upgrade.
Working fine, no problems with TWRP at all, got signal but when someone calls me the phone reboots.
Ill try to come back with some logs if that could help
So coming from Paranoid Android 5.1 which is stable as can be, is this ROM stable? Like with the RIL, that is what I'm most concerned about. Anyone had any problems with it? Also, once I virtually partition my memory will I still be able to install other ROMs that don't require virtually partition ROMs? Thanks!

Is stable, been using this since yesterday and everything seems to be working, bit when you recieve a call the phone reboots, Data is working and SMS to.
You cant install non-virtually partitioned ROMs, the process to undo this is installing Oficial TWRP and re-formatting everything but Ext SD Card, that worked for me.

to be honest i tought skyrocket or hercules would not get M i was wrong but then again it looks just like lillipop.. am glad there are developers that continue to bring life to the s2. i just recently got me a lg g2 and they lack on developers.. not a lot of support for that device.. does it feel a difference? what about battery?
So I flashed TWRP over CWM, and TWRP and when going to Wipe it is not showing my Internal SD to partition.

When trying to make calls, get a "Mobile Network Not Available" error. the network signal in status bar goes blank and then re-appears after a few seconds
plus when receiving calls, the name of the person who calls doesn't appear, just the number. shows up as Unknown in recent calls.
Also not able to choose preferred network type in mobile network settings
Logs attached
GPS is working, got a fix fairly quickely
everything seems to work great except the 2 problems with signal that are mentioned in post above
can you post us some fast fix only for that in zip file if it's not too big problem to patch this bug pls

6.0. I recommend the micro, nano, or pico Gapps. The Aroma package would also work. That way, you get to choose which Gapps you install. The only problem with that can be it is a bigger package and therefore takes longer to download. Also, Cyanogen recently released Capps that has the Cyanogen OS system apps (not including Gapps). I flashed the micro Gapps and the Capps and everything is fine for me (except cell, which I haven't tested.)
Have a great evening!

It should, try it. Don't have this device on hands so can't test.
I have a question is that can I delete these files on the fox folder (it's 3GB) . Also I don't want the orange fox to install my miui updates, I just want my system updater to do it even if it means removing the orange fox, it's still ok.. can I do this?
The beta version of this recovery shows SD card and USB storage 0 mb and thus we can't access them from recovery nor we can mount them (this problem is in beta version only)
I flashed stable version of this recovery but touch was not responding, not even a bit..... then i installed beta version and touch worked, but whenever i tried to install lineage os 16.0 , it shows error 255 ..... i also tried twrp 3.2.1.0 earlier but touch was not responding there as well....nor was otg mouse.... i flashed twrp 3.3.1.0 as well and there otg was working fine but even after installing the rom amd booting up, touch was irresponsive help!!

Try this recovery https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-s2/development/arm64-twrp-v3-3-1-0-redmi-s2-y2-t3954150
For me it's working fine
i already mentioned , i had tried 3.3.1.0 ..... by the way my issue was resolved by the service centre and for free (under warranty ) i just cleared everything , installed original rom locked the bootloader and went straight in stating that touch became irresponsive after update .... also i would like to update that , i tried pitch black , orange fox stable plus beta , twrp 3.3.1.0,3.2.1.0 and at last flashed stock fastboot rom using mi flash tool as well but failed to solve the problem then ..... I'd 2 phones that made it easy for me
This is really nice, Thanks devs
I can't decrypt the data partition. I'm trying for hours to find an answer. Can anyone please help me? Lock screen password doesn't work.

Thanks for the answer, my friend. I really appreciate it. I've already solved this problem.
The thing was that after I format data and rebooted to system it kept encrypting it again. For some people rebooting to recovery again and flashing magisk from an SD card worked. For me it didn't. So I tried again but wiping data, cache, and system and flashing another ROM.
Hi,
I'm actually considering buying the Xiaomi Redmi S2 and I have some questions regarding the device and this recovery.
1. Would you recommend the S2 in 2019/2020
2. Is Treble TWRP required to use treble ROMs or can I install this directly and also use treble ROMs.
3. Any recommended tweaks for this device.
4. What configuration of RAM and Storage would you recommend? (I only found 3GB RAM and 32GB Storage versions)
5. Expandable Storage? (microSD)
6. Any bugs with treble in general or specific treble ROMs?
7. Anything to look for when buying this device used?
Kind Regards

Wow! Thank you, is it my birthday? I will flash over the next couple of days. Thank you once again.
I have just tried to flash the gapps version. I flashed with Majisk and got stuck in a bootloop for 25 minutes. Went back into recovery, went through the wipe process again and re-flashed Palladium. I got the 'successful' flash message in Twrp, but when I went to reboot it said that there was no OS installed. I was able to flash the ROM that I was on previously (Pixel) without any problems. Maybe I had a corrupted download, sadly I don't have the time to try again right now, I will try again in a few days.

Am on the same gapps version and it booted jus fine for me. If the zip is corrupted u wont be getting successful flash message. Maybe try again afterwards when free. Also happy that u tried it.

I also guess the boot loop could be due to encrypted or decrypted thing. Try with f2fs instead...

Happened to me as well but i got it fixed by flashing the vanilla rom first and then let it boot, after that i rebooted back to the recovery and flashed gapps. Worked just fine. Hope this will help anyone having a similar issue
Any way to get rid of the home buttons and have a home bar instead ? Couldn't find any option like Derpfest has. Props for the great rom, I'm loving it and the battery life is just incredible.

Thank you very much. Which gapps package did you flash?
No good for me. Whatever I try. It says that I have successfully flashed, yet when I go to reboot it says that there is no OS installed, both versions.

Make sure you have the zip files anywhere in your internal storage. But not inside a folder within the internal storage. Because whenever you wipe data,system,cache and dalvik it will also wipe the downloaded files inside the download folder.

I kept them in the same place that I kept Pixel ROM and was able to flash that afterwards. Plus the APK's that I had within that folder and the Majisk zip were fine too. Weird issue.

Maybe you should try a different recovery?! I use Orange Fox and had no problems with flashing this Rom. Installed the Vanilla version plus Nik Gapps full package.

I was wondering whether my codeworx Twrp was maybe outdated. Can I flash Orange fox over the top of codeworx with a zip file?
Edit: Flashed Orange Fox, I'll try again.
Yesss!! Flashed it! It was obviously the recovery version that I was running. On the suggestion of @KeinePanik I flashed Orange Fox recovery and voila! (Thank you my friend)
My apologies to the developer and everyone else for flooding this thread with my issues.
I have been running the app for about 5 hours now and can report that it is really smooth, great battery life and some nice UI extras. Many thanks to the dev, will it go official?
