LG G3 health apps - T-Mobile LG G3

Does this phone come with health apps pretty installed? Like the ones on the S4. Pedometer and things like that.
Nexus ONE

Only got a pedometer and i pray thats all lg plan on having....they become sammy with all that health things im going to htc lol

I really like the pedometer but I cant find the app on my phone
Nexus ONE

I don't think there's an app for it other than what's I homescreen

If you run Nova launcher you can create a shortcut to the health app.
Long Press Homescreen > Shortcuts > Activities > LG Health > LG Health MainActivity
It takes you directly to the pedometer.

Accessing Active Applications

Is there a FAST way to switch between active applications? i came from WebOS and found switching apps the way it does extremely easy and fast, i am wondering if there's a way to do something similar in android.
Just hold the home button and you can switch between your recent opened applications.
An app called swipe pad. It can be found in the market. Allows you to open up 12 apps of your choosing to open up whenever. Sounds good?

Of course, holding the home button you will see your recently used apps and can effectivly swotcj between them.
If you're really missing webOS then wavelauncher from the market is definitely for you. TONS of options and works just like webOS mulit-tasking. Hope you like
those are good, but i am looking for something that tells me the active application like task manager, but easier to get to. and something that makes it obvious what apps i have running. the recent app doesn't tell me what is running tho
The paid version of wave launcher can do all of that and then some. The options and settings are extensive.

I like Swipe pad cuz wave launcher gets in the way when dismissing you're notification bar

I also really enjoy swipe pad. It's what I used before I switched to wave launcher. It's a great app, but personally I just like the feel and the way it handles better on wave launcher. And you can turn that setting off for the notifications thing in the options btw. I think it under a setting called something like "close notification on gesture area tap" or something. I don't like that feature either, so I just leave it turned off.
Yea I know u can turn it off but I like the gesture area in the top right corner

i would get wave launcher but i dont want to start spending money on apps yet.
i'm using swipe pad with bottom swipe up (like webos) and have the task manager right above the samsung logo so i can quickly get to task manager and switch between tasks. good work around

8.4 Pro. What bloatware can I turn off/should I turn off?

I bought a Tab Pro 8.4 last week (still haven't opened it) from Best Buy for $199. I read reviews that stated there is some hiccups and lagginess while doing multiple things at once.
I will not root the tablet, but, what bloatware can I and should I turn off to make this quicker and not have any lag? I read on the Tab S forum, someone that had the Tab Pro and this is what he mentioned:
haven't picked mine up yet, but I'm coming from a Tab Pro, which should have mostly the same UI elements. It's not difficult to turn off most of the Samsung bloat. In particular, turning off the magazine UI provided a significant boost.
I copied 8.4 forum, but I don't remember where. So I'm sorry to whoever I can't direct appropriate credit:
Try the Nova launcher from the Play Store to improve speed. Set it as your default launcher then Disable/Turn Off;
Flipboard, MagazineWidget, S Voice, Samsung Apps, Samsung Apps Widget, SapaMonitor, Screen Saver, World Clock, and (Hancom; Office for Android Share, Hcell, Hshow, Hword, Updater, Viewer Launcher, and Widget) if you don't plan on using it. Then reboot.
After following these recommendations performance improved significantly, and in using NOVA touchwiz is mostly unseen.
Hopefully this helps, but ultimately if it's not making you happy there's no reason to keep it. Good luck.
Now, I will keep my stock launcher. What can be turned off to give "UI provide a significant boost?" As the above member mentioned. Also, a real newbie question, how do I turn off the recommended bloatware?
Lastly, I just opened it for the first time to charge it. I bought the black tablet. Does the black tablet still come with the white charger? I would of thought the black tablet would come with a black charger?
10char
It comes with a white charger and cable

I've disabled the following: Cisco Webex, e-meeting, Memo, Screensaver, SideSync, SNS
You can speed up magazine UI by removing all of the (magazine) widgets except for one, and removing all of the magazine UI pages except for one.
Under developer options I have window animations and transition animation turned off. I just have the photo widget running in the magazine screen. I think this thing is pretty damn smooth. My first samsung tablet and I don't mid the ui, it's different and a nice change. When I get bored of it I will probably install another launcher. The thing I have grown to love about stock roms is that they generally just work.
Take that out of the box and play with it and you be the judge. You won't find a better tablet for the price.

Older thread but I just picked up this tablet.
To disable the apps you don't want do you use the turn off button in Settings/General/ "Application Manager"?
Is there a danger if you turn off say the ANT apps not sure if they work in tandem with other apps that I want to keep.

I posted what I had turned off satisfactory in a post a while back in regards to the T-900, but you should more,or less be able to turn off the same things. It was something like 160 files, using the freeze option in Titanium. Good luck.

Restoring the App Drawer

In the video from LG at the 2:18 mark, they show a third option from the home settings that restores the app drawer.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lk8Zs3Mlbcs
I only have 2 options. Has anyone been able to restore the app drawer by the way shown in the video?
The second option restores it, but makes a bunch of other changes that I didn't want, so that's not a choice. The third option will be available with version 5 (or something like that), which was not available on release. I need it back too.

Open the LG SmartWorld App, Click the menu in the top left, expand LG Specials, then open LG Apps. You can then download LG Home 4.0 with the App drawer.

My faith in humanity has been restored!
problem with app drawer 4.0 is you can't change the number of icons....i like 6x6. you can do it with the g5 but not the downloaded 4.0 version.
I just use Nova Launcher. does that and more. only problem is if you set "knock to lock" it doesnt unlock with fingerprint and you have to enter the password. I think rooting the phone would fix this.
I installed LG Home 4.0, and I think it kept crashing my phone. It froze and rebooted at least 4 times the day after I installed this launcher. That was the only change that I remember making. I took it back for a replacement from Sprint. I haven't put LG Home 4.0 on the new phone though.

Help me make my Samsung Tab Pro 10.1 look like a Samsung again

Hi
I have installed Lineage 14.1 (Android 7 ROM) and Gapps. It's runs on the google launcher which is pretty awesome but it doesn't feel right as the tablet is a Samsung.
I know the word "Touchwiz" can cause arguments in the android world but I want to install the s8 touchwiz as it is really smooth and a massive improvement on it predecessors. I have installed an Apk like I have done on my s7e but it just says "Touchwiz has stopped working"
Is there other apps that I need so the touchwiz can run?
(Note I am just interested installing the touchwiz not the other samsung apps (bloatware) but obviously if there are any samsung system apps I need, I don't mind installing them)
Thanks
Hi peeps I have an update.
I have come up with an alternative solution.
Basically I haven't got touchwiz on my tablet there is so many system apps I need to look into and research it's madness....but I will keep looking into it and when I crack the code I will let you know.
I have found a way of making my tablet look more samsung and close to an S8 touchwiz than ever.
First step is go on to google play store and download "Note 8 launcher" made by Nice Launcher Apps, this app is the best samsung touchwiz launcher I have ever tested and I tried a lot of them, once it's downloaded and installed it's time to start tweaking with the app setting (I luckily had an S8 in front of me to help me compare) the hardest setting is getting rid of the all apps button as you don't need it due to the fact it has the awesome swipe up feature like the S8 and N8. You need to go into a setting called dock and enable editing at the very bottom then you can drag and remove what apps in the bottom you don't want and add which ones you do want in the bottom that you do want.....also look at other dock setting get rid of dock scrolling by changing it to 1 page and once your finished in your dock setting disable the editing, to sort lock your in your prefered setting. The rest is quite straight forward and you will also have to change the awful wallpaper it comes with (unless you like it)
Once you have all setting tweaked to the way you like it....you need to move on and get some samsung style widgets....you see a lot of suggestions on the net for widgets but I feel the most accurate when sitting right next to S8 is Xwidget app via the play store, just type in samsung and loads of s8 and s7 style widgets appear choose you favourites if you have the normal version of the app or all of them if you have the pro version. Then simply apply the widgets the same way you apply other custom widget apps to your home screen.
Lastly if you don't like any of the icons installed or available to the Note 8 launcher app then go on to zedge and get some from there as they have good selection as well.
This was all for a Samsung Tab Pro 10.1 but this will pretty much work on any android device and it doesn't seem you will require root (even though my tab was rooted) all you need is some confidence around settings and a little bit of paitents.
If anyone has any info on samsung system apps and how to get a real touchwiz working on my tablet.....then that would be great.
Have fun all
Hey people.
I feel like I need to update this thread as the method at the top didn't work out. For some reason the launcher wouldn't remember my setup and in the end would become a waste of memory and time.
I heard that you could set up nova launcher to look like touchwiz. So I searched around the web and found this post from XDA.
https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/foru...theme-nova-launcher-s8-launcher-t3583095/amp/
It perfect and does exactly what you need it to do and feels just like Samsung s8 touchwiz/Samsung Experince.
For the icons I downloaded this app
https://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&s...oQ5YQBCCEwAQ&usg=AOvVaw2UNLhVoe-wCWql_eNnYhkF
Any of the icons that are not right then you can edit them via nova launcher and put the right ones in.
It's prob worth noting I was given a tenner to spend on Google play store after a mix up on android pay. So I got the nova prime and paid for the decent icon pack. If you got the spare cash then it's worth a spend but if you don't then I think you can do this free as well....plenty of other s8 icon packs on play store.

Smart Bulletin

Hey all, I have a bit of a conundrum. Today I was digging through some hidden activities with activity manager, and I noticed that several functions from the g4 and g5 are found in the settings activities (for example, the smart cover, notification LEDs, and a few others). Activating most of them provide no effect, as I'm assuming they were disabled from use. However, looking in the LG home 4.0, I saw an activity called smart bulletin. And for those who don't know, it's the equivalent of the Google now page for LG apps. However, I cannot access any of the features, but it does appear on the home screen. Is there a method for enabling the use of this( perhaps through all sideloading or other means)? Also, as far as some of these hidden features go, is there any way to activate those? I have the k425 on 7.0 nougat.

Download Nova launcher and add an activities widget, when the screen to select activity appears, expand the selections for homescreen and long press on smart bulletin, when it's launched, activate it and then you can close Nova launcher. You don't have to select Nova as default homescreen though.

I didn't have to use nice to activate it; as a I mentioned earlier, I use activity launcher instead. It's activated, and it appears, but there's no options for it. It's as though LG simply removed the apps to make the feature work, and didn't fully remove this feature
