Battery life - T-Mobile LG G3

Just wondering what everyone else is getting. Mines just as good as it was on the g2 now that I've got root and greenify going.

I've gotten well over a day out of it. This is my first full charge.

Awesome Battery
I am so surprised on battery life for this phone. I absolutely love it

Debloated rooted stock (carrier IQ) removed with greenify and seeder installed. Another note I was listing to Pandora for about 4 hours this day and this is only the second charge cycle ???

All you folks with awesome battery life, do u have all Google apps and services sync on?
I had a bunched turned off and still got crappie battery life.

Still stock lol

How is everyone getting so many hours out of this phone? I'm struggling to get 8 hours of a full charge.

I upgraded from the Note 2 four days ago. I wanted to go through a few charge cycles before contemplating a return. I'm just about ready to pull the trigger and take the G3 back. The battery life has been horrid. Less than 3 hours SOT with phone losing juice in 8 hours. This is light to moderate use. Mostly browsing and inet radio.
With My Note 2 and SlimKat, I'd get 5-6 hours SOT and a 24+ hour charge with the slim kernel and 2 year old stock battery. Stand-by time was a wondrous 3+ days. The G3 has just lost 6% charge in 40 minutes of just browsing on wifi. I could see that happening with iffy LTE but wifi? Frustrating to say the least.
Sad because I love this phone for a variety of reasons. This phone maintains a phenomenal signal when compared to my Note 2. It's hard to keep a signal in my workplace but this phone pulls it off fulltime. This is my first LG and love their version of Android in comparison to TW. I'm finished with Samsung phones and this seemed like a worthy alternative. I'll give it to Samsung, though. The Note 2 was a masterpiece.
Rooted/Xposed otherwise stock.

[DISCUSSION] Average SCREEN/ON BATTERY time. How did you achieve that?!

========================================
I think it's a good idea to convert that thread to an official discussion thread:
[DISCUSSION] Average SCREEN/ON BATTERY time. How did you achieve that?!
This thread aims the users with an average usage (a bit of browsing, a bit of gaming, few clips on youtube a day, email syncing and other daily usage).
Guinness record seekers - go away!
RULES
- Post your ON BATTERY and SCREEN time screenshots
- Tell us how you achieved that
- Let us know about your setup: ROM, Kernel
- Do you use battery saving apps
- Any other information which might be interesting (some annoying wakelocks you got rid off etc.)
========================================
I always didn't believe how in the world it is possible with stock battery.
Finally! 16hrs standby and 4hrs screen time.
16Hrs with the normal usage from wake up till bet time is not that bad. Normally I'm having 2hrs screen time. So in those cases I hope I'll get 24hrs of standby.
My setup:
- Slim ICS 3.8
- Franco kernel. Latest nightly
- BetterBatteryStats for monitoring wakelocks
- All notifications i don't need - OFF.
Seems that notifications from various apps caused the battery drain. Turned them all off. Always was checking wakelocks and eliminating apps from the walelock list too.

Mine not all day on wifi.
80% On wifi and the rest - 3G.
I will continue testing 3G only. I heard it drains battery faster than wifi.

Stock rom. 007 kernel. No syncing on since i check my stuff manually enough as is. Can get almost 6 on wifi and 5.5h on hspa if signal is good or better most of the battery charge. If not good signal, can still get 5 or near pretty easily.
...
of course your getting 4 hours+ with wifi on, it's the radios that drain the batttery.
Yeah.. with my .30mbps sprint connection... i get around 3hours of display... over all 3g over a period of 15hours.

My most recent screen shot that I have (I must have deleted the old one) is 1d 8h 23m 3s on battery with 3h 6m 51s (I still had 20% battery though).
I spend the majority of my day at work (no wifi) and then when I get home, I turn wifi on.
Hmm . . . I'm already getting 4.5 hrs with stock 4.02 with about 15% remaining after 13 hrs - some wifi/calls/txt.

I charged it up during the day yesterday, but then hammered it syncing my emails, sms messages and other things.
So, last night was my first real charge. I took it off the charger at 6am this morning, and right now, at just a few minutes less than 5 hours, I'm at 83% with 70% use being cell standby.
I'm sticking with HSPA+ today, because I know that will drain the battery more than WiFi (at least that was the case on my Atrix) and I'm trying to get a feel for the battery life when away from WiFi.
Now, full disclosure, my phone has 6 email accounts setup for push. An Exchange account, two Gmail accounts and three Imap idle accounts using k9 mail. Still, I would say it's burning battery at a little higher rate than my Atrix with those same six push email accounts.
5 hours and down to 40%.
:-(
I'm seeing a significant increase in battery life whith the s3 over the s2

I'm a bit of a light user, but a little heavier than average given new phone.
7.5 hrs @ 57%.
I'll post screens when I can.
5 Hours, 45%, screen on 2 hr, 12 min.
Interesting thing: I have a Pandora Widget on my screen, have not used it at all, and 13% of my power, and show son for 22 min.
9.5 hrs @ 29%.
I am using the default juicedefender profile.
Cell standby hogs the battery more than other phones like US One X with same SoC. I think kernel devs can work on this since this is not normal.
To get a good idea on battery life, everyone needs to show their screen on time as it should be the biggest drain.

^^ I had power saving off for the first 3 hours of the day, and screen was set to 1/4 brightness. I changed screen to auto brightness, disabled wifi network scanning/notification, turned on power saving mode (all options), and it's been like that since about 3 hours into the day. I've done some driving with Slacker Radio streaming via bluetooth to my Jeep.
Seems like cellular standby eats juice. I am in an LTE area.
is the a way to turn off LTE?
This is mine so far, don't really run any battery saving appsetc. Cell standby is a bit too much.

I get about 8-24 hours depending on usage and location, I'd average it at around 12-14 hours.
Using CM11.
This really depends on use...
If I'm playing games alot during the day, it's maybe ~ 8 hours... if I'm just using it as a device to check e-mail, chat with my wife, and view twitter... it's probably closer to 12-16 hours. Many days at work, I hit the end of the day with ~ 10-15% battery left and that's ~ 18 hours?

I should have grabbed a screen shot last night... had ~ 13-15 hours... had talked on the phone for over an hour, listened to music for close to 5 hours while working on cleaning the house... Plus periodic e-mails from two different accounts and other misc stuff... basically I was at ~ 17% when I plugged it in last night.
This is a very light usage day. Was at the auto show all day using my DSLR instead of this. But I'd say its still impressive. I'm using AOKP with allsparks cm kernel.

This is my battery status. Anyone here faced "Media Server" problem before? This problem annoyed me a long time. I have tried many solution / method, but no luck. :crying::crying::crying:
GPS is the ultimate killer.... I lose 14%-15% every 30min when using GPS, included LTE, Bluetooth and Screen, turned on.... Other than that its not bad for daily use.....
Since paying attention to my battery life because of this thread, I found that HD widgets was consuming an unreasonable amount of battery life (after turning off my GPS, this suddenly became my top application...)
Basically, in many cases I expect the screen to be the top talker - say 3-4 hours of screen on-time... I've been only getting just over 2 hours... which doesn't seem even close to what I'd expect... I want to say with .67 I was getting more than 3 hours of screen on time on a regular basis, and a few times around 4.
I need to wipe and start from scratch... but Sony's rumored releases and delayed releases for their software versions drive me nuts. I mean the latest 4.3 (101) hasn't officially dropped yet for the 6506, and 4.4 is rumored to hit sometime mid march... Not sure what to think or do...
Oh, and if you're having an issue with Mediaserver - that can be one of several things... could be a corrupt image, could be a flaky MP3... try wiping the cache for your media server and reboot and see if it straightens out AFTER it's cached everything...
Pretty decent i say... love the stamina mode
Is it normal for the OS to consume so much though?

Purchased mine yesterday and out of the box it had about 62%. That was about 2pm ET and I was using it heavily syncing, downloading, browsing, customizing, watching vids etc and I had 3 hrs of on screen time with 10% battery left around 1am. This thing is great so far and the new update (once we eventually get it) should make the battery life even better. That was yesterday going through a full charge now and with 30mins of onscreen time I've only used about 5% of my battery

Wow ... I really expected much better.

I'm extremely pleased with this phone!
Great battery. Didn't take screen shot yet. But off charger from 1pm to midnight and still had about 55% left. Also I was able to charge this morning from 11% to 88% in 42min. Using adapter that came with it and with phone off.
So I originally posted this first picture. Of 6h+ screen time with 20h+ total time. Until today. I installed Nova prime. I used to love it so much. But after this I immediately uninstalled it. My use was the same as the day before. No gaming no videos. Same cell reception. Just a warning to anyone else. Or if someone can give their usage with Nova. I literally didn't add any other apps etc. Just Nova, Nova prime, and the Nova notifications plugin to show the little red numbers on the corner of emails, text messages, etc. Battery drained much quicker. Any thoughts or Nova users so far?
New stats w/ Nova: 7h44m total, and 3h screen time at 30% left.
Old stats w/o Nova: 20h total, 6h10m screen time at 5%
This is what I got today.
After a normal day of class and work for me I'm currently at 45%. I'm at 2 hours of screen on time and around 4 - 5 hours of listening to music. My nexus 5 wouldn't even come close to these results.

First day of decent battery life. Mostly Facebook and internet on WiFi, with an upload to vimeo and some app downloading

Screen on time

It's amazing how much we actually use our phones in a given day, especially when we watch "videos"! Rate this thread to express how many hours of screen-on time you can get on the Google Pixel before depleting the battery.
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!
I will post later today after I fully charge. But I lost about 10% during initial setup and downloading apps. Less than 10 minutes SOT, hardly a fair reflection of endurance yet though.

Jasestu,
I think your 2nd day results are pretty good. 3.5 hours of SOT and 22% battery left means you should be able to get at least 4.5 hours or more for a 2770 mah battery. That's in par with my S7.

This is from yesterday, my first full day with the phone after getting it Thursday. About a half hour of a graphic heavy game, over an hour of YouTube, some Netflix casting. Navigation was on for maybe 20 minutes, Bluetooth was on all day, streaming gpm and podcasts. Screen brightness was 50% most of the day. Power saving mode was on from 15% until I plugged in at 4% and took these screenshots.

OK, so it's probably a case of needed to recalibrate myself after the Z3 Compact - I get twitchy if the phone ever got as low as 35% by the end of a day....
And here's today's stats.
Not gonna get too ahead of myself but it does appear that battery life is improving as the days go by and the OS settles. I'm hoping to consistently get 4+ hours SOT. That would be an improvement over my 6P (3–4 hours SOT since Nougat) and I'd be content with that.
Today is my first full day with the phone (basically all setup completed yesterday eve), and I'm currently at 4+hr SOT with 31% battery left. I spent about an hour (edit:*talking*) on the phone, listened to a bit if music, wandered around this AM taking photos, and spent a ton of time if Facebook and Reddit. This is WAY better than my 5x, which was struggling to hit 2.5 hrs on a full days' use. Things to consider: it's Saturday and I'm not getting work emails all day, but also I typically expect worse battery life early on as OS is settling in. So far, this is more than u was expecting and is a great early indicator. Even if I only get 4-5hr SOT long term, is still be quite happy with that. Trending for 5-6 is just stellar!
https://goo.gl/photos/ZEifip3kRHXXuVDK7 wow this battery life is crushing what I got even on my note 7. 89% left just went over 1 hour SOT. Well on way to 5-6 hours or more easy. The sleep mode is insane overnight
