[Q] Problems updating Huawei Ascend P1 (U9200) - Huawei Ascend P1

Hi
My mothers Huawei Ascend P1 (U9200) is somewhat unstable with the original ROM. Currently its running Android 4.0.4 with B103 firmware. When I try to update the firmware to the latest version from Huawei, I get a error like this: assert failed apply_patch_check("/system/app/MusicFX.apk (Status code 7)
From what I read, this file is either changed or missing and the hash doesn't match the version needed for update. In my case, the file is missing from the /system/app folder. I tried copying a version from the web into the folder, but I don't have permission as root is needed.
When I try to root the phone, using the guides from XDA, I get stuck at the bootloader. Whenever I try to boot into bootloader, the phone gets stuck with the Huawei logo. I can't get in contact with it with "fastboot devices" or "adb devices".
Now I'm out of ideas. What can I do to update the phone?
Before I tried the things above, I wiped cache and system data (factory reset).

System is read only?

Hey guys, I'm having a problem with my entire GNex being read-only. I currently can't get the device to boot into Android (after unsuccessfully trying to flash franco's 4.3 kernel to my 4.3 ROM) and am stuck in TWRP 2.6.
There are a couple versions of Paranoid Android on there but when I try to flash one of them, all I get is "Failed" in red font (with no other error message); the only version that I'm able to flash is the most recent 4.3 build, but that doesn't boot past the Google logo.
I've wiped everything multiple times except for Data but that didn't help, and fixing permissions only gives me the "Failed" error again.
I can use adb to pull anything I want from the device, but it refuses to accept any files via the push command, and I get a message saying "failed to copy 'filenamehere.ext' to '/sdcard/filenamehere.ext': Read-only file system".
How do I fix this error? I have adb and fastboot working correctly on Windows 8.
Also, when I try to fix permissions, I get a message in the log that says "E: Unable to chown '/data/app/com.yackovsky.holle" (the name is cut off, but it's the package name for this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.yackovsky.holler.wht&hl=en , although I doubt the app has anything to do with the problem).
Also tried following the steps from this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=22970837&postcount=14 but still got errors about the filesystem being read-only.
Ended up formatting the phone to solve the problem. /thread

[Q] Device bricked, need to install apk i suppose.

Hey, It is a long story, I will tell it briefly. I have a tablet iball 7271, I know off branded, I bought it because it was slimmer and goodlooking.
I rooted it after and accidentally uninstalled two services: Atciservice, and BackupAndRestore.
My tablet doesn't boot up, It just keep showing iball logo.
I had taken nandroid backup before but i don't know how to recover it. If i try to flash CWM.zip, it says "Invalid OTA package, missing scatter. Installation aborted"
But then I just extracted those apk (Atciservice, and BackupAndRestore.) i uninstalled from backup and tried to install it. But my tablet is only working if I type "ADB sideload etc... " And if i try to send apk through sideload it shows "Installation aborted".
How can i make a flashable zip file to start my tablet? Or any other solution? I tried hard reset, problem is same. If anyone knows how can I just make it work then please tell.

[Q] HELP! GPE lollipop OTA Update Error, no apps loading after that

Hello All,
I have GPE version of GPad running Kitkat 4.4 Stock ROM. Last month I have used following link to enable chromecast mirroring. Due to the issues i have uninstalled superuser app and did factory reset. After that all well! I mean no issues with tablet.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/har...experimental-enable-mirroring-device-t2812193
Yesterday I tried to sideload the GPE lollipop update but prompted with following error.
"/system/etc/audio_policy.conf" has unexpected contents.
E:Error in /tmp/update.zip
(Status 7)
Installation aborted.
This morning I saw system update notification for Lollipop upgrade and opted to install it, but without any further msg during the system update it prompted with "Error!" After that I did factory reset. When it reboots starts optimizing 48 apps, but it prompts with following sequence of messages:
"Unfortunately sun beam has stopped. "
None of the apps loaded , no access to setting, just empty screen and on screen buttons at the bottom.
I spent quite some time looking around in xda to restore back to factory, none seems to work.
1. Tried flashing original stock .tot file, getting "Download user image is only available in the online environment!!
2. adb sideload, "/system/etc/audio_policy.conf" has unexpected contents
3. To Flash TWRP i am not getting access to setting to enable USB debugging.
Now i cant even put the G Pad in adb as i dont have access to settings to put in USB debug mode. vol down+power puts into bootloader, but cant access to adb commands.
Now I can only access to recovery and do sideload. but i am stuck with "/system/etc/audio_policy.conf" has unexpected contents error. Can someone share kitkat original version of audio_policy.conf? also how i can replace the exiting file as i dont have access to adb?
Greatly appreciate your help to bring back the G Pad.
regards
Raj
You can boot twrp from fastboot and flash either 4.4.4 or 5.0 back onto your tablet. Look at the thread in Android development for more details on flashing the stock images using twrp
Thanks! I was able to get back to kitkat with following method. I was able to flash recovery its now back to complete stock kitkat now.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-...510-gpe-4-4-4-ktu84p-l002-stock-twrp-t2797883
After this I got system update notification to lollipop. Again got "Error!" msg during the install process.
I tried adb side load, got following error!
failed to verify whole-file signature
signature verification failed
installation aborted.
Any thought whats going wrong there?

Soft brick

Hello, my friend gave me this phone and if I can repair it I can keep it . I have this problem: it's stucked at the bootanimation. I tried hard reset, unlocking bootloader and then flashing TWRP (can't unlock, I don't know why), flashing B510 through system recovery give me this error: "assert failed: file_getprop("/system/build.prop", "ro.build.fingerpint..."). When I put update.app into dload folder and press vol+,vol- and power it only loads stock recovery. I tried flashing system.img directly through fastboot, but it says that the max file size is 800MB and the system.img is 1,37GB. Any ideas? (It's on 4.4.2 but I don't know which version.)

Try flashing Chinese firmware like B508 since it is on stock recovery.
Sent from my SM-G850F
I have to downlaod it from chinese site, so it takes ages. I just found out, that if I flash b510 through stock recovery, it needs b132 version in build.prop. Will post my result after download.
EDIT: Can't flash B508 either: "signature vertification failed".

OTA to OOS 4.0 and adb sideload won't work

Hello Guys!
I was kinda hyped when I saw on Dec 31st that there's a new Softwareupdate available. Although I have a rooted device with a custom recovery (latest TWRP), previous OTAs always worked well. So I downloaded the OTA, and tapped "install" when it was finished. But this time it rebooted into recovery mode, and TWRP just did nothing. So, assuming it was because of the rooted device, I completely unrooted it and flashed the stock recovery and tried it again. This time there was actually smth. but an error saying "Update failed" appeared. Kinda pissed I downloaded the OTA update to my PC and tried to do it via adb sideload, same error "Installation failed" on the phone and cmd said
Code:
error: protocol fault (no status)
.
After that I copied the .zip to my phone, flashed TWRP again made a nandroid backup, wiped dalvik, chache & CO (no factory reset) and installed the zip. Again: Error. I don't remember the exact code, but it was smth. with "error reading zip" or so, but the file isn't damaged.
So I have the question: What am I doing wrong? Do I have to lock OEM again?
I am looking forward to your answers.
Sincerely, Firnien
PS: I updated adb to the latest version as well and tried, still not working
