[APP] MotoG DualSim - XT1033 Mod - Remove Sim2 Icons - Moto G Themes and Apps

Hi everyone, today i'lm sharing with you a little mod that i've made while developing my MotoGuide mod.
It removes the Sim2 icons (all of them), so if you're not using a second sim you can get rid of those icons wasting your statusbar.
It's the only hack working on our MotoG since all other tricks failed.
Note:
Please keep in mind that it's only a temporary option since i'm planning to add those hacks into my MotoGuide module (All in one module for our MotoG, link in my signature).
I only share it for you to enjoy it until i'm releasing the next MotoGuide version.
Which version does it work on ?
For now i only provide a SystemUI.apk for 4.4.2 phones since i only had this one to work on.
If you want one for your 4.3 XT1033, then please share both your SystemUI.apk and framework-res.apk.
How to use:
- First grab my modified file: http://d-h.st/70O
- Then install any root capable File Explorer (i'll be using Solid Explorer - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=pl.solidexplorer&hl=en).
- Open SE and browse into your system folder, then priv-app folder.
(Disregard the 3rd screenshot, it should be priv-app folder, since i'm on xt1032 my systemui.apk is located in the app folder, but on xt1033 it should be in priv-app)

}
- Select your SystemUI.apk and long press on it to rename it to SystemUI.apk.old
- Copy my patched SystemUI-Kameo-4.4.2.apk into your phone and rename it to SystemUI.apk. Here's what it should look like:
- Reselect (long press) your freshly renamed (mine!) SystemUI.apk and change the rights to 644 (-rw-r--r--).
- Click OK and then reboot.
Last words:
Thanks to @djscopesofm for providing his XT1033 4.4.2 SystemUI.apk and betatesting my hacks in my MotoGuide thread (the picture was taken from his phone since i only have an XT1032).
Enjoy, and don't forget to hit the Thanks button...

One quick thing! In the XT1033 (mine at least) the SystemUI.apk is located in /system/priv-app/ folder instead of /system/app/ folder.

Thanks, corrected it.

Thanks Kameo. It works as intended.

Thanks

For now its only a temporary fix.

Of course, it only removes the icons (hence the name), the network ability is still here.

one more question bro..can i use xposed after this mod?bez gravity wont work on dual sim moto g ,once i get rid of that signal can i be able to move clock and stuffs?

No idea, give it a try.

You will still be using the dual Sim status bar so most of the status bar tweaks won't work.

If you remove the dual Sim entries the system will revert to the single Sim settings this would mean that you will have no service at all.

@harishke
If you want you could go completely to a single Sim ROM. This is possible and I will be doing this myself to this weekend.

Different sizes can be requested if you ask nicely!
To install: use adb or file manager and push the file to /system/vendor/overlay/ and reboot. If you want to revert to no navigation bar, simply delete the file and reboot.

You need root to do this. If you are using ES file explorer you need to edit settings in order to edit files in /system. Menu - Settings - check "Root Explorer" and "Mount File System".
sorry but there is a bug
i am using this
when battery is charged fully. the number 99 increases to 100 and then in a tick tock it backs to 99 and again increases to 100 in a tick tock
99, 100, 99, 100, 99, 100 continously
These look really nice, are they mods you did of the Xperia S ICS stock SystemUI.apk file or from a different firmware?

I can't get battery mod "Numbers" to work for me.
I did put it in /system/apps and it is rw-r--r--
Did a reboot...nothing..
Do i miss something?
I do use ICS rooted.

There should be no problems with it, working fine for me and others.. You can try with Androxyde's kernel and follow these instructions to push the SystemUI.apk through adb:
Open cmd in same folder as the .apk
adb remount
adb push SystemUI.apk /system/app
Reboot for effect.

Is working now, was my fault.

Are these icons HD or low-res? I love the battery percentage list you have but I can see some blurriness in them.

Original Theme Project Xperia Ion
Original Theme Project is all about themeing Sony's firmware to the better look.
I have been working on Xperia S, Ion, bit on GX and low end devices like P etc. I myself own an Xperia S. I am not able to test all mods for the Ion, so make a backup!
Guide to install is on 2nd post!Needed: Root and some knowledge about adb.
As always: I take no responsibility for any harm that comes to your phone as a result of applying this mod. This is still in test stage for Xperia Ion! Please report problems and give as much info as possible.

[How to]
How to:
All mods on previous post is in .apk form (no CWM zips). Easiest way to install is to use adb and push the apk to its right place. If you have problems understanding how to use adb USE GOOGLE AND SEARCH.
For normal system apps:
adb remount
adb push YourApkHere.apk /system/app ( for example: adb push SystemUI.apk /system/app )
For framework-res.apk:
adb remount
adb push framework-res.apk /system/framework
adb reboot
Another way is to use a file explorer:
Copy and move the file to /system
Set right permissions: rw-r--r--
Now move the file to its final destination.
You can also put the apk in a CWM flashable zip.
Nice stuff

This is really great! It works perfect!
I moved all the files in ES File Explorer and everything works great but the text on the lock screen is right under the buttons and is in the next button. Charging status is also right under the date text. Did I do something wrong? I moved the right file to the right folder.

Okay, I think my Ion is bricked
First, I put the framework-res.apk & SystemUI.apk into \system & changed their permission to rw-r-r, then put them into their final place. And after reboot, the status bar just FC & said "the process 1$s has stopped". I tried doing everything again but after rebooting this time, Ion can't even get into launcher, just a black screen with a popup "Starting applications. %1$s running" forever
I have no idea how to turn this off. Anyone can help?
Look like you forgot to deodex rom before you changed out your SystemUI & framework-res. I hope you did backup the original files or did a backup through CWM. If not you need to reflash the ftf again.
Sent from my LT28at using Tapatalk 2
Ookay, I didn't see the note that these things need deodex so I just install them without knowing, lol. Lucky I got everything backed up so I just flashed deodexed rom & it works perfectly xD
Oh btw... one last problem. Somehow the "Turn off phone" option in my power-menu became "Sound OFF" instead. It still turn off the phone when I press it though xD
Edit: I found out the prob, framework-res.apk from the lockscreen messed up the texts in my phone, including power-menu & numpad when calling. Its all back to normal after I reinstall the original framework.
I am using AOSP Lockscreen with music fix. it's very good but I can't Import contact from sim card. Help me

P.S. If possible, please deodex app/framework and upload.
Can someone port this to Xperia Neo V ICS 4.0.4 buildnr 587?

On .45 stock it didn't work. I lost the notification bar completely. The phone will boot up but there will be no notification bar at all. I replaced the SystemUI.apk with the original one and rebooted and it's back on track. I really wanted the quick buttons in the notification area :|

how do i get these Icons in KK launcher ?
Pretty solution!!CM11
@Silvermatrix The KK launcher wont support these icons you have to install moonshine over apex/nova/smart etc. launchers to have it working. The best solution is to have root access and install CM11 and try out its themes. Hit thanks if i helped

[CM12, 12.1][Moto E] Removed network activity indicators & improved signal/wifi icons

[CM12, 12.1][Moto E] Removed network activity indicators & improved signal/wifi icons
Hello guys
For those users who hate those little grey network activity indicators over wifi and signal icons in CM12 and CM12.1, here's a treat for you!
I have modified the SystemUI.apk and implemented the following changes:
Network activity indicators have been removed!
Spacing between the dual SIM signal indicators has been increased slightly and thus they appear better than the original look where both the indicators almost touch each other.
Signal icons are a bit bigger (than the original small ones which look too small besides the battery icon).
The CM's ugly extra-wide wifi icon has been replaced with the original, sleek and elegant wifi icon from Motorola.
Annoying exclamation marks have also been removed!
Original CM look, click to enlarge:

I have flashable ZIPs for you which you can simply flash from your custom recovery and your SystemUI.apk will be replaced. Please make a backup of the original file located at /system/priv-app/SystemUI/SystemUI.apk. The original file permissions are rw- r-- r-- and chown root:root.
Please note that this file will only work on Moto E XT1022 and most probably other variants as well, you can try, but backup the original before you do so. I will not be responsible for any thermo-nuclear war taking place on your device after this
I generally never ask for thanks, but this time I would like to because it was a lot of work :silly:
Download:
Here's the new fixed flashable ZIP for CM12: View attachment finalbc.zip
And here's the one for CM12.1: http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=3270867&d=1429455639
This one is for CM12.1 only with roaming icon (R) removed from the signal icons in addition to the other aforementioned modifications: View attachment roaming_removed_temp.zip
Enjoy :victory:
How did I do it:
Decompiled SystemUI.apk
Lollipop uses vectors to draw the status bar icons you see on the top right, means there's no png you can simply replace and get your work done.
I totally removed the vectors references of the required icons and placed raster images in the required resolution folder (Moto E is an hdpi device). When systemUI can't find vectors, it looks for rasters. That did the trick (those XML files are too hard to understand and edit, so I decided to do a trial and throw them away and that worked! )
Did a lot of photoshopping to generate the required icons, resizing them and properly aligning them.
Using raster images also resulted in automatic removal of the annoying exclamation marks which were defined in the vector XMLs.
I also removed the network activity indicators' vector references and replaced them with 1x1 transparent PNG images! Now they are invisible!
The icons are originally from a Nexus device's stock LP. Had to resize and re-align them for our Moto E which is hdpi unlike Nexus.
That's it

If CM12.1's systemUI file is different, then probably it won't but there is no harm in trying, you can always backup the original and restore later. You'll face a systemUI FC if it doesn't work, then you'll have to reboot to recovery to restore your backup.
If you have already downloaded, please re-download the fixed file (fixed some icons alignment problems, now it's perfect ).
I haven't yet moved to CM12.1 as I can't live without xposed

Seems like you understood the mystery behind the file name and also understood my frustration (had to edit, decompile and recompile a hell lot of times, and hence the file name)
I wanted to change the filename before uploading but I forgot, lol. :silly:

@ChaTy, please make a RAR with the highest compression, I am low on data and my wifi is not working today, so I gotta save up.

Ugh sorry I forgot to mention that I also need framework-res.apk from /system/framework/ because apktool needs resource tables from the framework in order to decompile the systemUI.apk. I tried with CM12's framework-res.apk but as expected, it didn't work
Please ZIP and upload that file but since it is a large file, I won't be able to download it until my wifi works so please be patient
But I still can't guarantee, success only depends on the ability to decompile LP 5.1 files by apktool.

Here you go: View attachment cm-latest.zip
Please note that I have used the latest apktool for LP 5.1 but it's still in alpha stage. Although files were successfully decompiled and recompiled, there is no guarantee that the systemUI would work. Please test it on your CM12.1 and report back.
Please make a backup of your systemUI.apk. If you face FC, go to recovery and copy it back to /system/priv-app/SystemUI/ and set chmod to 0644 and reboot.
Great bro!!
Finally you were able to solve it.

Yeah I know that. Infact, the CM's ugly battery icon was the starting point of my frustration that led me to modify other icons. I attempted modifying the battery icon but it's damn tricky. It resides in the framework-res.apk and I don't understand what to edit and what not. I was unsuccessful and thus adjusted myself with the circle battery icon. I'm sorry, it's a bit too hard for me
