[Q] Optimus G E975 - ADB does not work anymore :( - LG Optimus G (International)

Problem:
Optimus G E975 - ADB does not work after (FreeGee) TWRP update 2.6.3.0.
What happened:
Was on CM10.2 TWRP 2.6.0.0 and ADB worked fine. Used FreeGee to update TWRP.
Booted to recovery, wiped _everything_. Now adb does not work at all (device does not show up in "list").
I can see Yellow triangle with exclamation mark in windows device manager (LG-E975).
Any suggestions? I havent dared to boot, so Im still in TWRP. TYIA!

What rom are you on? With cm-10.1 (android 4.4.2) or later you have to accept your RSA keys for adb to work. If you wipe data it wipes the stored rsa keys so you have to accept it again.
Also using freegee to update twrp is fine. It now detect if you are already unlocked or not, and if so only installs the new recovery.

That was an issue with 4.1 devices only, and it has been resolved. Everyone is now good to go.

I was on CM10.2
RSA keys are good point. But shouldnt TWRP notify about this (I know CM notfied this earlier, but I cant boot now, can I?
Atleast TWRP warns me about booting (NO OS INSTALLED - ARE YOU SURE YOU WISH TO BOOT?).

Adb devices doesn't ask to accept rca keys if you are on recovey, I think he needs to install adb drivers again.

And I think if RSA is missing, adb should show device in list (as OFFLINE)
Installing LG UNITED MOBILE DRIVER again was my first guess too. But doesnt seem to work (LGUnitedMobileDriver_S50MAN310AP22_ML_WHQL_Ver_3.10.1).

For some reason, Im afraid that FreeGee did something wrong. Maybe wrong TWRP version (wrong device)?
And now windows drivers do not work correctly? (device manager has yellow triangle @ LG E975)
If TWRP reports windows device id, this could be the case?
Is it safe to boot? Can I still get back to TWRP?

I had the exact same issue yesterday.... while connecting the phone in recovery mode to your system, you have to install the LG united mobile drivers 3.8.1, and then update the same from device manager... select the yellow exclamation mark, update driver... now your device will show up in adb but as offline, but still you can push a cwm or rom.zip to get the phone working and restore the nandroid backup... that's how, i managed to get back mine...
BtW: I have philz recovery installed and now want to try cm11... Is CM11 already rooted or we have to flash the super su.zip like we did in houston's kk rom's???
Apologies, if asking this question in the wrong section...

I know this is a few weeks old... but I cannot thank you enough. Lost root and needed to use adb... to find out nothing came up anymore in devices. This fixed it for me. :good:

Hello, I have an LG F180L with Android 4.4.2 and when I run adb devices it appears offline. However I have not this problem with my Galaxy S4 (Android 4.4.2 also). I have tried using different USB 2.0 ports and sdk is updated. I will be grateful if someone could help me.

In the dev section there is a tutorial on how to restore a phone from soft brick. I realize you're not actually soft bricked, but it has instructions about sideloading zip files to recovery. Might help you.

If you're using TWRP you can go to advanced>adb sideload and use the 'adb sideload <filename>' command to push a ROM to the phone which will then automatically install. That way you can avoid losing root.

[Q] Softbricked LGOG by GAIO v1.5(freegee) how to recover?

Hi,
I rooted LGOG LS970 using fiddy619's tool here on xda. I rooted successfully but was not able to enable DIAG mode using command line commands; So I unlocked its bootloader using GAIO V1.5 and then I installed custom recovery from it and after successful completion DIAG enabling commands got working. Then I extracted its MSL and unlock code using CDMAWorkshoptool; I used that code to enter into DIAG mode service code security and it worked perfectly; I got very happy to get MSL so easily. Everything was working fine until I restarted phone; and from there onwards first it booted with LG start-up music but screen was blank even after few minute while I waited. So I restarted it and it went to blank screen again after showing LG logo when I restarted it; So I restarted again this time it shown Fastboot screen where details were visible but options was not visible later on came to know they were there but was out of screen area. So I randomly selected voulume Up and Down and tried combinations using power button it restarted several times and then at one time I got into Clockworkmode. Then GAIO was able to detect phone till then so I did 'Restore Unlock Stock boot.img' in hope to make it work again but nothing changed. I tried mounting /sdcard in CWM but it gives error 'Error mounting /sdcard!'. CWM version is 6.0.1.5. I can access sdcard using ADB commands and I tried to copy .zip ROM file to it using push command and file copied successfully but when I list files using ls in ADB shell it shows nothing in sdcard. I'm also not able to recognize why CWM is not able to mount /sdcard while I am able to access it in ADB shell. I can't flash new ROM too because it doesn't have ROM file on SdCard and I am not able to put .zip Rom on sdcard though ADB or special ADB sideload method of CWM. When I execute 'adb sideload LS970ZV7.zip' it shows adb command help list. Adb version is 1.0.29 and I checked that it supports ADB sideload. I know it is kind of soft-bricked. But I am able to use CWM and Fastboot but I cannot use Fastboot commands from my windows command prompt; it says waiting for device on every command.
When I mount '/system' in CWM; GAIO v1.5 recognizes the phone and says Root Status- Rooted and Device Unlocked: Locked. Windows detects the mobile and installs drivers. I tried formatting /sdcard from CWM but it gives error. I have attached screenshots of GAIO and windows detected devices of phonen and adb commands. The software information screenshots were taken before it got soft-bricked.
If anyone have any idea how to recover from this state..?
The problem is with jellybean you must use the freegee the app to unlock because if new boot.IMG. here is a flash able zip. Adv push it and flash it and you should be good.

Hi, Thanks
I never did a flash of boot.img and after a brick I am very skeptical to do anything more. One more guy funkym0nk3y told to use Lgnpst to restore it. I am trying to find safest way coz I dont want to make it more worse. I am reading more on freegee flashing.
Shelnutt2 is the one who made freegee so it's probably not going to cause you any problems.

Hi,
Pushing to /data/media wasn't working so pushed it to clockworkmod folder of /data/media. Successfully completed install from internal SD card. Now phone is going into recharge mode as it wasn't previously going previously. Not able to boot it as its restarting coz its not charged from many days. But after few seconds of recharge animation of white battery getting filled it screen gets blank. Can I do same flashing for ZVB ROM also...? And if yes in same way as I did for boot.img..?

Leave it in recovery to charge, although you should be able to boot into the ROM. You might just want to lgnpst if you keep having trouble.

Hi, Thank you for that.
It was restarting continuously after showing LG boot animation so I left it to charge on charger.
And after sometime connected it to PC usb to check and restarted it and it booted into OS..
So now its working properly and it got like factory reset as It was showing first time guide layovers but still its rooted as DIAG is enabled already and SuperSu is installed.
But I think I messed internal SD card structure its showing folders I never seen before and my old data files are gone I know it mu\ight be cause of kinda reset but new file structure looks odd to me but I will format internal card. Still I am very happy that it got working now...
Thank you very much for help.

On phone: go to TWRP-Advanced-ADB Sideload and start sideloading. Connect to PC.
On PC: use command "adb sideload *PATH-TO-ROM.zip*" to upload and flash the ROM subsequently.

You are right again. I see now what I did, I flashed the LP .apk causing it to hang on the Verizon screen. Downloaded the MM .apk on the laptop, put it on an SD card, put it in my phone, flashed it and it booted right up. I must just be rusty or something.
Another question though, is the RUU what's used to unbrick? Do I need a special version of fastboot cause I couldn't flash one the other day when I tried.

Probably either driver issue if on windows, permission issue if on linux (run as root or fix udev rules), bad usb cable, or potentially wonky usb port. In that order.

Which supersu did you flash?
Okay, I was doing all of this last night about 4am. That was probably my whole issue because I somehow had "BETA-SuperSU-v2.48" downloaded. Then I downloaded and flashed the latest 2.71 and that boot looped longer than I though it should. I download 2.64 and I'm up and running.
Thank you!

Is your bootloader unlocked?
I have the same problem, I followed a guide I found here on xda to unlock the bootloader of the ze550ml mm beta, problem is that, after using that guide and supposedly unlocking the bootloader, using the twrp i found in that guide i tried to flash the latest cm13 build for my device but it always goes to fastboot, also the only recovery that works is the twrp I found in that guide. Please help me fix this.

Do you have the advantage drivers and fastboot installed on your pc? Did you go into developer mode in your phone and turn on USB debugging? Lastly, did you authorize the pc to debug your phone?
