I enjoyed this on my S3, and now I am about to enjoy this on my S4! Can't wait to flash it!
Sent from my AT&T Galaxy S4

Woot! Thanks for a helping of Collective visual goodness!
Sent from my SGH-I337 using Tapatalk 4

I finally finished getting Alpha 9.1 fully configured and looking beautiful on my S4, and now you have to pull this on me. Drooling. I thought I was done with flashing, but this is going to be extremely hard to resist.
I guess I'll charge my battery back up and get ready...

Love the ROM, guys...but I'm having a FC every time I try to take a picture. I can open the camera up just fine, but when I hit the shutter it FC's and doesn't save the picture.

I keep getting a failed download at about 85%. Tried on computer and phone.
Anyone have it hosted elsewhere?

Thanks for reporting. I didn't receive any such reports duing beta test about the camera, and if i could trouble you for a logcat that would be great.
Sadly I got a MF3 SGS4 from AT&T and have yet to be successful at even getting AoCP -or- AOSP to BOOT at all so far. so any logcats are much appreciated.
so.. untill we get the bootloader unlocked its trail by fire and logcats are the firefighters.

Good to see you here Johnsondr!! I ran ROMs from you guys on my Cappy and Infuse back when The Collective was still Phoenix will have to give this a try!

No problem. Did you come over from the OG Note by any chance? If so, welcome - glad to have The Family here
I've since flashed to other ROMs (don't take it personally, I literally flash once or twice a day...), but I'll reflash and see if I can pull a logcat. I got to thinking afterwards that it may have been a kernel issue (I was on Chronic Kernel, not the stock img from your ROM) so this time I'll leave it stock and see if I have the problem.
Edit: Here it is...Literally flashed the ROM and GAPPs (no custom kernel), booted up, let settle, and I'm still getting the error. Sorry if I included too much, but I figured better that than not enough.

I haven't had time to go into code. But I did just look into your LC
It states can't access storage.
So quickly and easily, is privacy guard on? Try to turn that off.
I will look deeper tonight

Thanks for looking into it...but no, Privacy Guard was not on. The good (?) news is that I had the same problem on another ROM - so I'm guessing it's probably a CM bug, and not ROM-specific.

Looking to download this ROM since I was a fan of all collective roms for the Inspire 4g. Receiving download errors on the link page to the 4.3 ROM dated 9/19. Gets to about 85% and stops on both phone and computer.
Also the OP reads:

Status: Stable
Current Stable Version: AoCP6
Stable Release Date: 2013-09-21
The ROM posted as AoCP-i337_CP6.zip on the web site is dated 2013-09-19 22:02:41.
Can someone check the download link and verify that this is the right version of the CP6 release? Thanks.

Great to see The Collective here. A quality team with quality work. Thanks Johnson!

I get same dl link date, not 9-21
Why so little feedback guys

I ran the collective on my s3. I liked it. It was orange.
The link gives me a 153 or so mb zip that I can't open. I only tried to download it on my phone but it didn't work out the few times I tried over the past day or two.

[ROM] VillainROM AOSP R2 (IML74K - 4.0.3) GSM ONLY [05 Jan] -incl Advanced Power Menu

Hasn't it been a while since I posted on here? As some of you know, I've been insanely busy with www.freeyourandroid.com (which is going immensely well, by the way), so haven't had much time to work on the custom ROM side of things. In addition, due to work obligations (conflicts of interest), I have been unable to work on certain handsets. Luckily, though, the Galaxy Nexus is my own, personal contract phone; and I am free to mod-away!
So, I present you with:
VillainROM-AOSP-R2
This is a ROM compiled directly from the Android source code repo (branch = android-4.0.3 (IML74K), with Google apps/permissions, etc added. It is of course not odexed, so first boot will take a while. Subsequent reboots will be much faster. Here are a few screenshots, as I know how many of you guys won't download a ROM unless there are screenshots in the OP :

To be honest, I have never used it. I assume so though, as I added all the missing NFC stuff.
Great to have a GS2 expert here!
Excellent, thanks for this
Is there any way to keep your data like just wiping everything but the data?
I tried a full wipe the other day and TiBackup didn't restore all my system settings like data usage n' stuff
Can't wait to try this out!!! Thanks

GREAT NEWS! Villain's ROM have always worked great, I've used it before on my GS2 and loved it.
There are plans to add a lot to this AOSP, so please feel free to post suggestions!
Any chance of a flashable ZIP for the APM? I like stock but do miss it so much!
Or just let me know which file(s) I need from this ROM to add to my handset?

I can't guarantee it'll work, but should just be android.policy.jar and framework-res.apk
Backup your ROM first as there's a good chance it'll bootloop.

Thanks for the ROM..
Have / Could you add the custom light levels to your ROM?
The Power Controll Widget in the Taskbar, like in the SGS2 ROMS would be nice
Is it possible to modify the process priorities for the UI to give them a higher level?
Thanks
Fantastic news that this ROM has been released!
welcome and thank you!
A few of requests please:
1. % Battery Mod
2. and also the search button mod alongside the home button
3. Disable vibration on slide to unlock feature
4. View dBm option in status bar
I know some of these are available as add-ons but I am having problems in them causing the phone to freeze etc
thank you so much in advance!
Another vote for custom brightness levels, the standard ones are just too dim. The fix Paul @modaco has done works great, so something along those lines.

1. Shen keeps asking for this, so I think I will add the percentage mod and 100 images.
2. I don't personally like it, but it's a very easy mod, so I can make it a flashable option in the future!
3. Could be a good addition... will look into it
4. Don't like this one again personally, but will look into making it a flashable option
used to use a GingerVillain ROM on my Desire .... produced by RichardTrip ?
Are you part of the same developer group ? If so the GV ROM was superb and Im glad to see you on board with the Galaxy Nexus
if you could modify volume levels so we didnt need to use volume+ that would be great

We don't see much of Richard Trip any more, but yes. I set up VillainROM with Pulser in 2009.
On another note, I'll investigate the brightness mod (not actually looked into it yet), and look at adding it to the next release.

I agree with you on the power and GN, but any device can use a slimmer ROm which only makes the device fly faster. Cheers

figured out the problem, it was in my update script on how it was trying to mount system. links updated on the first post. same as this one ( http://www.box.com/s/zf4652eggxpo2i2tjvtc)
Same problem. installation aborted. this is exactly what it says:
Random ofset: Oxdd
assert failed: write_raw_image ("/tmp/boot.img" , boot")
E:Error in /sdcard/Download/Slim_ICS_Maguro_alpha_1.zip
(Status 7)

Maguro places the boot a new way. It should be fixed now. If you don't want redownload the ROM, you can open up your updater script within the zip file and edit the lines at the end where it says assert(package_extract ( ....
delete "/tmp/boot.img) with
package_extract_file("boot.img", "/dev/block/platform/omap/omap_hsmmc.0/by-name/boot");
This is the change i made. line after this should unmount system. Please let me know how it goes and thanks for trying.

Hey ya,
Nice work so far, it boots .
Actually it works quite well the only thing which I found was that the camera isn't working. I attached a logcat for you. I hope it helps. Error is quite at the end. But I thought it's probably a good idea if you have the full logcat. So you can see how the Rom is behaving.
What I've done is:
1. Press the Power Button to wake the device up.
2. Unlock the screen.
3. Press the camera icon. (The camera crashes immediately)
4. Pessed the camera icon again just to be sure.
I reinstalled Email, Exchange, Marketupater, Market and talk if that matters.
I used ES File Explorer to put them into /system/app.
I didn't reinstalled any other apps then the few above.

Note*
Now that there is official support for Toro, Bajee is building Main and Nightlies. I will continue with my Unofficial builds for myself and post for anyone that wants them, similiar to what Maguro user Sykomaniac did with his RootBox thread.
Description
Vanilla RootBox is built straight from RootBox sources and always carries a very light installation with no extra/useless apps. This means, you can enjoy a pure Android experience combined with AOKP/CM features and some CM cherry-picks. Keep in mind Jelly Bean is only at the beginning stage of development and there will be minor bugs. Every RootBox releases are stable and always up to the challenge for a daily usage. If you're wondering how this ROM differs from any other AOKP roms out there, I only have one thing to say: Try it yourself and choose the one that meets your requirements.

Per-App Settings
This guide will help you setup your phone with new Per-App Settings.
First, all credits associate to Xposed Frameworks and Modules goes to Rovo89 for sharing his work and making it open source for everyone. You guys should all buy him a beer.
Steps to follow:
Install Xposed Frameworks by going in Modules Management>Install/Update
Enable Per-App Settings by going in Modules Management> Modules>Tick Per-App Settings (You should reboot your phone at this point)
Setup your phone : Per-App Settings>Choose your app>Set DPI/Resolution/Tablet UI/Language> Press Save on top
Your app should now display in your preferred settings. If it doesnt, kill the app and restart it or reboot phone.
Contribute to RootBox
Those interested in making wallpapers and bootanimation for RootBox, send an email to [email protected] with the following:
Information
Name
Email
Wallpapers
Attach wallpaper in email
Two sizes are required: HDPI and XHDPI
I'll review them and add the wallpapers in the next release. I will also choose the best one as the default wallpaper for official releases.
Bootanimation
Attach bootanimation or paste download link in the email.
Two sizes are required: HDPI and XHDPI
Wallpaper Resolution
HDPI: 960 x 800
XHDPI: 1440 x 1280
You can also contribute by creating icons for settings. Use proper sizes and always include compatibility for HDPI and XHDPI.
The reason behind this is very simple. I'm always busy and I've neglected the visual aspect of RootBox for a while now. It's time to polish it with new visuals!

I looked at this but what bothered me was the file date on that file it is from 2011? Weird... Although i did see a commit on their Gerrit in Open by him that talks about how Toro has diff Binaries for Broadcom then Maguro (another tuna board). http://gerrit.sudoservers.com/#/c/6989/
I will look over his commit and see if its any different then the zip posted, it will be in the next build, also Bajee put some interesting commits on Git regarding toggles and PIE going to try a fresh sync and build tonight...I'll keep everyone posted.
Edit: Talked with Mike about the date, he said ingnore. Plus i did what he did and got the same date as well after manual script run and extraction..."Interesting I just followed your directions, did the same thing for Toro and Maguro and both show a modified date of Sept. 2011... Strange!"
From Mike on RootzWiki
I never paid any attention to the dates. I pulled the binaries from here:
https://developers.g...us/drivers#toro
I grabbed the last Broadcom driver listed for Toro (4.2/4.2.1) and ran the extract script which will give you, among many nested directories, the file I listed in the BT-test. Once I confirmed the zip worked, I re-sync'd me repo and just copied that same file into the toro proprietary location and refactored the various make files for the 3 tuna devices to look in their device specific repo for that file rather than the generic tuna location.
You should be able to run a md5sum on them and they should be the same.

I would first like to say tht this is custom firmwre, your warranty is now void, also please do not blame me if ur phone dies, makes u late for work, or pocket dials ur significant other while ur with ur other significant other... You are fully aware of what can happen by flashing ur device so, make sure u are one either CWMv6.0.3.6 or TWRPv2.6.1.0+, now enough said let's do it...
1) Download ROM and place in ROOT of storage where u have access...
2) Full wipe is required, data, system, dalvik cache, and cache 3x each (3x is a persomal preference), if u want to dirty flash updates please do not complain to me about issues as i have stated the obvious about flashing gapps over gapps...
3) Flash ROM, DO NOT FLASH GAPPS, gapps are included in build and will cause severe lag/RR/FC's if flashed on top
4) Reboot ROM and let sit 5-10 min BEFORE setting up, as to let things settle (not letting her settle will cause issues and laggyness)
5) Now that she's sat for a min, set ROM up and follow with 1 more reboot, or reboot and then setup..(I always setup then reboot)
6) ENJOY PRO-bam ROM, this thing is fun, so many options and settings, how an u not love it???
DO NOT FLASH GAPPS, THEY ARE INCLUDED IN BUILDPRO-Bam-4.3.1_v4.5.0-Hercules-Linaro.zip

http://goo.im/gapps/gapps-jb-20130813-signed.zip
I just tried to flash this and it got stuck at the lock screen. I tried to unlock the lock screen and get a black screen.
I did wipe dalvik, factory reset and ran wipe scripts fr added measure.
Bad download?
Thanks 4 the help in advance.

Check the first page I posted a link
Gapps isn't included? It's a 300mb file.
A ROM that's basically like PAC but is not PAC? Huh, I'll give this a try.

UPDATE: (not yelling -- just a headline)
I played with this rom for about 2 hours after wiping everything, installing rom and flashing gapps 4.3. This rom lags for about 30 seconds. I suspect since this rom is "hot off the press" that the kinks will be ironed out. no biggie. Patience is key. Besides, it's rude to rush a hard-working dev, correct? (Yes, devs -- I'm patient. Thanks to you, I have a rooted device.)
Is it me or is "Bam" a finicky build? <shrugging shoulders>
In the meantime, I switched back to 4.1.2 TW until an update gets rolled out.
Amazing!
Can I just say that this rom is great!! I love it!! It took me a bit to get it installed right. If you're having trouble getting it to boot, use Darkside superwipe/cache. I wiped system, data, cache, dalvik, and preload using TWRP and then flashed Darkside Superwipe twice and Darkside Cache and then installed the rom and GApps then flashed Darkside Cache again. The rom runs perfectly!
On a side note, does anyone know where the shutdown animation is located? I'd like to change it
I've looked all over the place and everyone says it's in /system/media/video but there is no such folder in on this rom
