As CM10.1 has hit the general release, Avatar Team is branching with stable and nightly releases.
Stable releases are marked as 3.0. This is the first stable release from Avatar Team. Stable releases will be weekly or bi-weekly and will be tested extensively by our testing team.
Nightly releases will kickstart in a few days. We will merge CM changes every day and it will also contain experimental features from Avatar.
We highly recommend to wipe cache/data/dalvik before flashing the stable releases.

It says jfltecan, so you either need loki-doki.zip in twrp or the oudhs auto Loki recovery. Can't flash directly because of bootloader

So where in twrp do you add the Loki file ? And is that something you do to any no Loki pachted file or once its there it stays ?

I have the SGH I337 (jflteatt) and have OUDHS recovery with Auto Loki - I downloaded Avatar and tried to install and it aborted after a few seconds a message says "assert failed - Get Prop - (ro.product.device) = jflteattcan...... a few other things and finallay - Abort - status 7.
- so I am not sure what caused this - maybe a bad download? there is no MD5 number so I can't check that -
I am trying to download it again - and will try flashing again - but it would be nice if you could post an MD5 so we can run a check before flashing.

- I already had it up in my browser from earlier so here is the link you want
TWRP does not auto Loki and from what I understand they have no desire to implement it. The dev's of twrp and official cwm want you to flash the loki-doki.zip after a ROM flash to patch the kernel. You only need to flash Loki doki on ROMs that aren't already pre-lokified (ie. Canadian builds / those for other carriers)

How can I flash the loki-doki.zip AFTER a ROM flash if the ROM won't flash?
Got it , one more question if I may, how do I know if the ROM I choose has a kernel ? I'm not an idiot I just get overwhelmed with all the different ways to do this and that and get lost in all the reading and forget where I read what:laugh:

ROM is built on top of CM10.1 RC2 base. So it comes with CM stock kernel.

I tried downloading again -and flash failed again.
I am on the US Varient - SGH I 337 - I am using CWM with AUTO LOKI recovery (OUDHS Recovery I believe)
I have NOT HAD ANY issues flashing roms that are for Canadian S4 or TMO S4 previously - this is the first time I have gotten these errors.
before failing completely the error message I See is "Assert Failed .......Status 7 Installation Aborted.
Any ideas?
If I remember correctly, status 7 means some of the asserts need to be deleted in the zip. I suggest searching for what needs to be deleted.
I just searched "status 7 error" and there were plenty of hits, even a YouTube video.

I don't feel comfortable deleting stuff from the ZIP withiout knowing how that will effect the ROM itself - I will do more research but- as much as I would like to try this ROM, I guess I will have to wait - or maybe I am Just S.O.L - I has anyone else experienced this issue when trying to flash on SGH I337 ?

I think this describes it...You're just removing the assert that checks that you're flashing the correct file on the correct device.
We experienced status 7 on the S2 I777 before and Task just informed us to do the same thing...remove the assert as long as you're 100% sure you're using the correct file.

That helped a lot - thanks - never did anything like that before but then, there's a first time for everything - thanks for the tip - after I made that change, Rom flashed just fine - running now - everythibng I remember from when I used AVATAR on my old Note 2 -

As CM10.1 has hit the general release, Avatar Team is branching with stable and nightly releases.
Stable releases are marked as 3.0. This is the first stable release from Avatar Team. Stable releases will be weekly or bi-weekly and will be tested extensively by our testing team.
Nightly releases will kickstart in a few days. We will merge CM changes every day and it will also contain experimental features from Avatar.
We highly recommend to wipe cache/data/dalvik before flashing the stable releases.

The only thing is, I don't know why I would switch from my current rom, MIUI 2.11.14, for this. It just seems like MIUI with less of the options that you get with MIUI to me. There are no real MIUI themes here, you can't fully customize your themes (ie changing your lockscreen, icons, navbar, etc, to all be from different themes), you don't have MIUI Toolbox or ControlPanelSuite options, I just don't know. I'm not trying to be offensive or anything, just wondering how this would be better than regular MIUI.
Because this ROM is based on CM. We like MiUi as well and we love CM. What we are trying to do is bring the awesomeness of MiUi themes to CM.

Way to ruin Xmas

i flashed this rom and got some errors, android has stopped working and then it said avatar has crashed. i didn't get a setup screen also, was i supposed to?
the way i flashed was: wipe factory/reset, wiped cache, wipe dalvik, wiped system, then flashed rom and flash the latest gapps 12122012 then wiped cache and dalvik again then rebooted. this is how i flash all the roms i use and haven't had a problem except this time. did i do something wrong in the flashing on this one?

You flashed the wrong gapps. The one you flashed is for 4.2.1 you need the ones for 4.1.2 dated 10/11/12 I believe

It wasn' ignorance, that's the thing. I was honestly curious as to why someone would prefer this ROM. I appreciate the actual Dev's response to my questions because it made sense and wasn't rude, unlike your comment. Telling me that I don't need to know why is ignorance. I'm allowed to ask questions if I have them, that's what it's all about, is it not? No need to apologize for my 'ignorance' when you're doing the exact same thing.

If u use miui then hopefully uve tried a cm10 ROM. Any cm ROM will fly compared to a miui ROM. Miui was never meant to be on our phones, every ROM uve used is a port. Cyanogen himself has cooked us some slick ROMs for this phone. But, honestly, to see Ur comment first thing after a dev spent so much time making us a ROM and a xhangelog and all that disappoints us all. Next time, think about saying thanks, I'll flash and let u know my findings. The rest of us understand cm10 is fast and know how this ROM could be great.
Can't access SD card
I've uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers for the phone and I still cannot access my internal/external storage when connected to my computer. Anyone else get this?
I would love to try this rom but just installed few hardcore games and some insane account sync. But this is the rom I have been waiting for CM and miui in one..

As CM10.1 has hit the general release, Avatar Team is branching with stable and nightly releases.
Stable releases are marked as 3.0. This is the first stable release from Avatar Team. Stable releases will be weekly or bi-weekly and will be tested extensively by our testing team.
Nightly releases will kickstart in a few days. We will merge CM changes every day and it will also contain experiemental features from Avatar.
We highly recommend to wipe cache/data/dalvik before flashing the stable releases.

After doing all the necessary wipes (i.e. cache, dalvik, factory reset), rebooting the phone and letting it settle for 10 minutes, my battery was 75% after being charged overnight. Is this normal or simply because the rom just got released?
Thanks for integrating JB with MIUI -- two powerhouses rolled into one. MIUI officially didn't have 4G...until you came along! =)

I like this ROM. I'm using all-star gapps and holo launcher and no problems at all. I really like the toggles. Decent battery on stock kernel so far.

Maybe a few of you guys issues have to do with Improper flash, I flashed once, been running all day, battery life is good, ROM is stable, No bugs thus far except for, sometimes the MUSIC that im playing shows a different title on the lockscreen than whats actually playing LOL but other than that, Support for more themes?? Or can we just go find any theme & install & apply it?

One of the things that has been preventing me from running cm builds as of recent was memory leaks.. also the high amount of artifacts rendered on the display due to certain lib files being used, and above all the inability to have a stable working Bluetooth. Would you mind commenting on this so I can get an idea of what to expect?

As CM10.1 has hit the general release, Avatar Team is branching with stable and nightly releases.
Stable releases are marked as 3.0. This is the first stable release from Avatar Team. Stable releases will be weekly or bi-weekly and will be tested extensively by our testing team.
Nightly releases will kickstart in a few days. We will merge CM changes every day and it will also contain experiemental features from Avatar.
We highly recommend to wipe cache/data/dalvik before flashing the stable releases.

Phone went off and had to take the battery to turn back on. Think that happened once on another ROM. Is there a setting that will make a sound when phone goes off?

Go to settings -> About phone -> Tap on the build number for 7 times. Its a CM10.1 feature.

As CM10.1 has hit the general release, Avatar Team is branching with stable and nightly releases.
Stable releases are marked as 3.0. This is the first stable release from Avatar Team. Stable releases will be weekly or bi-weekly and will be tested extensively by our testing team.
Nightly releases will kickstart in a few days. We will merge CM changes every day and it will also contain experimental features from Avatar.
We highly recommend to wipe cache/data/dalvik before flashing the stable releases.

Good to see more ROMs come over to the S4. Glad to have more alternatives.
Edit: fwiw, I loved the 4.1.2 version of this ROM. Never tried the 4.2, one on the S2. Never felt any 4.2 based ROM was stable enough.

Customization in this rom is awesome and the size of it is tiny compared to stock. Applying lockscreen from different themes however does something weird to lockscreen

Network Speeds
Love the ROM and it's diminished size compared to most S4 ROMs. My one issue so far is Network speeds. Not getting nearly the same 20Mb speeds I have been consistently seeing with other Roms. Not trying to be noobish about comparisons. Just a valid comment. Yes, in Network settings LTE,GSM,WCDMA choice is checked. Basically seeing under 5mb downloads. And I have 4 full bars H, if asking, in my home that has one of those TMobile cell boosters and I have max signal too.

Warning, Gallery2.apk is tied to the camera, so do not uninstall gallery or else you'll lose the camera app.
No setting to turn off crt off (that I can find).
Overall rom is extremely stable, and honestly I probably won't even switch to cm10 when it comes out because of how comfortable I am with this. I'd love to see a transparent status bar, support for the IR blaster, and a 4g LTE icon for the status bar.

We have based our ROM on Cyanogenmod. The build for S4 is not stable yet on Cyanogenmod. Please wait for it to get stable.

All S4 variants supported by CM should be supported from this week. Try it out for sure!
MiRound theme release

Gave this a try, ran into a problem with MircoSD card. I have 2 64GB cards - one exFAT and one FAT32. Avatar couldn't mount the exFAT card, as expected. However, it couldn't mount the FAT32 card, either. When I went to Settings - Storage, the settings app FC'd.
Really looking forward to advancement of AOSP/KP on S4!

Make sure you format the Fat 32 using 32KB .....
Reprint from another XDA post re-SGS3. Works the same for our Galaxy S4 also. I have a Sandisk 64Gb card and it works with Avatar. I was getting flaky link2SD operations, so I am currently just using single Fat32 with 32KB clusters instead of adding a second EXT4 partition to the card of approx 10Gb so as to transfer apps to the SD card. The stability was just not good across a slew of Roms. I am posting this only s you can see the program used to format with.

How to format 64gb micro sd card to Fat32 to work on SGS3
Hi guys,
I faced a problem with my 64gb. Sandisk micro SD and I solved the issue and I thought about posting the solution here that might help some of you.
so... the issue I faced is how to get TWRP recovery or CWM to mount my Ex sd card.
basically the problem is that the card is formatted in exfat or NTFS and in both ways it won't be recognized by TWRP and the only way to formate it in fat32 is by only one software because windows can not format more than 32gb in Fat32.
and here is how:
first: download EaseUS Partition Master Home Edition from this link http://download.cnet.com/EaseUS-Part...dlPid=10982635
Second : Now you can see a list of all of your hard drives. Note the one highlighted in blue on the grid. This is my 64GB MicroSDXC card in my USB Card Reader. Obviously the location of your card in the list may differ dependant on the number of drives in your computer
You’ll need to right-click on the drive in the list representing your 64GB MicroSDXC card and click “Format partition”
Third : You need to select FAT32 for the File System, and 32KB for Cluster Size.
EaseUS doesn’t immediately apply the changes you specify. Instead, it queues them up so that you can review and revise them before you commit to having the program affect those changes. then we need to press the Apply button.
that's it ... now you can enjoy your 64gb MicroSd and you can mount it in TWRP or CWM recovery .
