CyanogenMod 10.1 Loki'd for the Galaxy S4 ATT - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S 4 Android Development

Here is a link to the most recent CM nightly for the ATT S4. All credit goes to CM team and djrbliss. I just ran the loki patch against the stock jfltecan CM kernel and edited the build.prop and updater-script for our devices. Of course you'll need custom recovery and the usual wipe/gapps routine for CM.
Please feel free to mirror.

Slim Bean seems to be pretty cool, but I gotta try this out too... I have a feeling I am going to be spending a lot of time flashing this weekend

Boots like a champ. Good work.
There seems to be a problem getting LTE to connect though. Anyone know about this?
EDIT: Ooop, nevermind! Network mode has to be set to LTE / GSM/WCDMA!

You need to change your Mobile network Network Mode to LTE\GSM\WCDMA and APN to: ATT LTE
Works for me

Also before anyone asks, you have to set your APN to pta and your Network Mode to LTE/GSM/WCDMA in order to get LTE.

So how is this cm 10.1 running on your at&t sgs4's?
Better than the nexus 4?

One thing I'm noticing is even without Samsung's bloat, there's still only 9.57GB usable space out of 16GB.
Perhaps the device needs to be re-partitioned somehow?

It's running like a dream.
Also, the phone has better specs than the Nexus 4, so I would say yes it's better.
The advantage of the Nexus 4 is still getting updates straight from Google though.

I pulled my aboot.img using the instructions on djrbliss's github:
adb shell
su
dd if=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/aboot of=/data/local/tmp/aboot.img
chmod 644 /data/local/tmp/aboot.img
exit
exit
adb pull /data/local/tmp/aboot.img
Then downloaded the CM build and the loki_patch-linux-x86 files. Extracted the boot.img from the CM zip and moved all three files over to a Cent box.
./loki_patch-linux-x86 boot aboot.img boot.img boot.lok
That's it for command line. Everything else was notepad++ and winrar. :good: Noticed I forgot to change the model in the build.prop from the SGH-I337M to the SGH-I337. So you might wanna fix that while your at it.
What error you getting?

Once I get this, would I able to update using the in built updater, or would the updates also have to be loki'd?

CM 10.2 for Canadian Optimus G (E973/E971)

Hi, This is a continuation of the CM 10.1 nightlies thread. Things has been moving on and we are now at CM 10.2. I have been working with xboxfanj, houstonn and bbelos to bring you this. Again, this is based on mako with adapted change for optimus G. This time we are even more in sync with CAF (Code Aurora Forum).
What is working
Everything.
What is not working
You tell me.
Here are the repo needed for our devices :
https://github.com/TeamPlaceHolder
Of course, you have to be rooted, to have bootloader unlocked and a working recovery to flash this custom rom.
DO NOT FLASH NEXUS 4 KENEL MADE BY 3rd PARTY. THIS WILL MOSTLY PERMA BRICK YOUR DEVICE.
This is simply because people tend to use partition number and not by-name and our partition is different than nexus 4 ones. i.e. The rpm partition on our phone is the boot partition on nexus 4. So flashing a custom kernel will flash a boot.img in your rpm partition and then you are bricked. You have been warned.
Like usually, i can't be hold responsible if you damage your phone during any of the process described in this thread.
Thanks :
Thracky and houstonn who also works with me on this.

Download
All the downloads will go here :

Use geeb package
Gapps package :
http://goo.im/gapps
Modem :
There is a newer modem now available (From JB update. Houstonn and I extracted each of them and made flashable so you don't need to do the painful process of kdz only to get a new baseband)
MAKE SURE TO NOT FLASH KOREAN MODEM.
http://downloads.codefi.re/houstonn/lgog/modem
How to intall that rom ?
This require you to have TWRP or CWM already installed on your device. I recommand the former. On our device, this mainly mean you have rooted your phone and unlocked the bootloader.
Apparently, it seems these instruction where not clear enough. So I'll try to make them dumbproof. If you are not following these instruction and it doesnt work, dont expect support. It's like buying a cake mix where you only need to add milk and call the company saying their product is bull****, you added water and only got a brick. To add to this metaphor, Asking if it's because you used CWM instead of twrp or reverse is like saying : Did it didnt work because i used a fork instead of a whip to mix it ?
To flash this rom, you have to be on older Bootloader. You can alternatively flash the bootloader i linked in this thread. Read the post carefully before you flash.
Download file in the download section.
Put the rom AND the gapps on your internal SDCard.
Reboot into recovery.
Flash CM rom.
Flash Gapps package.
DO A FACTORY RESET (EMPHASIS HERE)
reboot into system

You sir, deserve a punch in the face. Come on. We are not at optimizing things. I'm still trying to figure out what is working or not. This is really stupid.
Note to all other user : I WILL NOT ACCEPT FEATURE BEFORE EVERY PROBLEMS HAVE BEEN SOLVED.
on a related note to your question, if you would have read carefully, you would have seen that i already use faux123 kernel . . .
Anyway, this is not going to be the case soon.
Great work, OP. Can't wait for this build to run smoothly so we can have more fun with our phones.
Only want to add that the work on going to be able to actually build the rom easily is going good !
We've got it successfully building now, just testing our first experiment, then the real work can begin

One good news, i was able to make the phone boot from our rom !
Thanks for keeping us up to date.

[ROM] CM-10.1 w/Bluetooth (a2dp) WORKING

Please give thanks to madmack!!
I did nothing to help with this, just bringing it to the people of this forums that want it.
It has working A2DP by pulling some stuff from the 12-26-12 build and implementing them into 1-15-13 and might have some broken features. If anyone finds any broken features then let me know and I'll ad them to this post.

A2DP definitely works as expected. Audio is busted in g+ hangouts (think this got fixed in the caf audio stuff that happened in later nightlies). But that's a decent tradeoff. Haven't seen any other issues other than the ones everyone knows about from the regular nightlies- occasional flicker, lag after some games, etc.
How do you install this? Since its ATT, I get an error with CWM6 on my TMO S3.
Is there a version out there for the SGH-T999 (d2tmo)? I'm guessing since this is the d2att version it won't work on the SGH-T999, right? Thanks for fixing this issue.
I've flashed about 7 different att ROMs on my phone without editing anything before flashing. They work fine after unless trying to use something T-Mobile specific, like T-Mobile voicemail. I didn't fix it just brought to t999s attention.

Thank you, this helps. I have the latest experimental build of 10.1, do you know if I will have to wipe my phone or can I just flash it over the existing 10.1 build? Thank you

Boot into recovery
wipe system
flash A2DP working Cm-10.1 rom
Flash gapps
reboot and test, if it doesn't work then wipe.

I've installed dozens of roms over the last few years, including some AT&T ones, but this one specifically gives me an error when installing the rom. I always wipe everything when going to a new rom. I even downloaded it a 2nd time incase the first one was corrupted or something.
This isn't too important to me anymore, cause I found a 4.1.2 rom I like, that has BT and Hotspot with encryption working, which neither seem to work with any 4.2 roms. But I am curious why it wasn't working.
so madmack's patch has made it into the latest nightly correct? no need for the rom he posted, just use the latest cm10.1 nightly?

ahhh nothing says XDA like a thread being raised from the dead
ok, first off, this is for the S3, not the S2 Skyrocket as your sig says you are using
second, go to the CM download page for your device (http://get.cm/?device=skyrocket) and grab the most recent nightly or get the stable version of 10.1 for it here (http://get.cm/?device=skyrocket&type=stable) dated June 24th. those should work fine
third, go to http://goo.im/gapps and grab the first file there, dated 20130301 for 4.2.2
make sure your recovery is updated (CWM or TWRP) then flash CM first, then gapps
then go here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1399) for the AT&T Skyrocket forums
good luck!

I'm on a Windows machine and came across those on Google's site. I used a text editor to open the shell script and then deleted all lines above the binary data, then saved, then renamed the file with a .tar.gz extension. I could then open that and see all of the files. Try that.
Turns out I had a space on the file path! Thanks mmuzzy for pointing that out...
If anyone wants the TORO binaries as a flashable zip, here: http://d-h.st/fpN
Tested on cm 10.1 latest nightly. All ok. Even fixes a gps issue with cm.
Tiny did a few more tweaks. His version fixes the gps wakelock issue:
New link: URL=http://d-h.st/Lgo]422-JDQ39-toro-proprietaries.zip - 4.45 MB[/URL]
Tiny Pulled the file that caused dev-host to complain about a virus (fRom) that I originally included. Tiny can't find anything about this file so it's a false positive but to be sure, he uploaded a new zip and removed the old one
Thanks tiny!

Any factory image for the same android build will have the same binaries (and probably others that can't be distributed as open source) as the ones posted for aosp.
I pulled the GPS, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth drivers from mwalt2's deodex of last night's ota leak: VZW_JDQ39_GPS+WIFI_DRIVERS.zip - 1.22 MB. Not sure if they are any different than the AOSP binaries, but here they are if you want them. Phone is deep sleeping like a baby, GPS locks right on, and Wi-Fi seems good.

I flashed the multiwindow (which I couldn't find) version and did not have mobile data. I went to the APN section of system settings and was surprised to see none listed, which explained no data connection. Also under About Phone, my PRL was listed as "1". In the hopes of all this being an error, I restarted the phone and was immediately greeted with a screen telling me to activate the device to be able to call or get data. And in all my crack flashing I've never experienced that, so I ended up reverting to my previous nandroid.
With that said it did feel very smooth and ran well. Wifi worked and I was able to install some apps, but again couldn't find the multiwindow options. The build number stated the name of the other zip in the dev downloads, so maybe there was some mixup? But I'm definitely looking forward to more Omni. I've been on CM for so long, it'll be refreshing to run something else.

About OmniROM
The goal of Omni is to experiment with Android development because we enjoy it. Omni isn’t better, just different. It’s another option for the billion Android users out there. Android (vs. iOS and every other mobile OS) has thrived on options as well as the gigantic, talented development community that has emerged to build those options. Instructions
0. You need a recovery that supports SELinux. I'm told that recent versions of CWM support it, but I haven't tried them myself. The best option is the official TWRP 2.7.0.0 release (other recoveries may not be compatible with OpenDelta updates for nightlies).
If you want to flash my recovery, download the recovery.img and flash it using ODIN or Mobile ODIN. You can also use Recovery Tools to flash it from your device
1. Flash the ROM.
2. Flash SuperSU if you want root (it's not yet included in the ROM). I have not tried any other Superuser apps but SuperSU is supposed to be incorporated into Omni eventually. Important: you may need to install a backup script using SuperSU to persist it across flashes - see the settings in SuperSU for that.
3. Flash Kitkat/4.4 compatible Gapps (PA has some that work with this ROM).
1-3 can be queued in TWRP.
4. If coming from a different ROM wipe data/factory reset, otherwise you probably won't boot
Downloads
TWRP 2.7.0.0 official builds are here.
TWRP 2.6.3.1 (unofficial version; the 4th digit is basically just for device specific changes). Use Flashify, Mobile Odin, or Recovery Tools to flash .img files.
twrp-2.6.3.1-n8000.img
twrp-2.6.3.1-n8013.img
ODIN flashable tars:
twrp-2.6.3.1-n8000.tar.md5
twrp-2.6.3.1-n8013.tar.md5
You must flash this (or other 4.4 compatible recovery) if you're on the official TWRP 2.6.3.0 or other outdated recoveries, if you get an error about set_metadata_recursive when flashing

FAQs
Where can I report bugs?
http://jira.omnirom.org/ - be sure to assign them to me, Ibrahim Awwal, if they're device specific.
Where is multiwindow?
Multiwindow is still a work in progress, if you want to try it out you'll have to use my unofficial builds from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2550308
I can't flash the ROM, I get an error about set_metadata_recursive
Make sure you are using an up-to-date recovery, see the OP for a link to my recovery builds.

Hi,
Thanks again for the great ROM. I was wondering if maybe you can add a section here of flashable zips for some possible cherry picks like multi window. This way we can get night lies but also get the latest and greatest. TIA.

Hmm, it's not really possible to do that for frameworks changes like that. I think if there is an xposed module or something for Multiwindow then that may work but I don't know if such a thing exists or if it could actually be done (but that's more likely to work than a flashable zip).

They're working on it. Use the unofficial builds for now.
Just flashed the latest 8013 build and for some reason my bookmarks wont sync in browser or chrome. Hmmmm... Strange.

I noticed that sometimes the back arrow on the bottom bar sometimes goes dim. Does anyone know why it does that or how to make it stop? It's starting to mess with my OCD...

I also wanted to suggest a temporary solution for MultiWindow on the nightlies. I have been using the latest XHaloFloatingWindow KitKat test build, and it works great once you get all the settings right. It's an Xposed mod, so you will have to have that installed and enabled for it to work. Check out the XDA page for that build

Huh, I've noticed that too, I just thought I was going crazy. Not sure why it happens but I feel like it started around the time navbar customization was added, so I should look near that time period. If you can get a screenshot and logcat when it happens could you post it on JIRA? That way we can try to figure out if it's a common bug (check whether it'd already been reported of course).

yes you can... check out FlashAfterUpdate -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2575966 ... i think thats what your looking for.
its a folder in /sdcard/OpenDelta/ and you can place zips there ... see link for templates.
but for supersu you just need to let it install backup-script from inside supersu...
edit: oops, late

edit2: nightlies up again for n801x

I think there was an issue with the build server, but it was fixed.
Works great but I think I don't have root access (supersu is not able to install binary), any help?
