Videos.apk is Google Video. Anything Samsung usually begins with SecXXX.apk.

Thats just the Google Video.apk (You can redownload it from Play Store If needed

For me, on the i337m, it just hangs at "daemon started successfully"

Means you don't have the proper drivers installed... Did you install the drivers from the package I posted? Or did you install Kies? Try unplugging your phone and plugging it back in If your stuck at that point and have either one of those installed.

I already had the Samsung drivers installed, but I'll install the version from your zip and try again.

Isn't this interesting... I solved the problem.
It had nothing to do with drivers, or your software.
The problem, was the cable. I was using a 2m USB cable that I bought on eBay from China. No good!
Switched to the original white Samsung cable, and there were no problems!

This happened to me before. It was because I had done a factory reset after rooting and had lost Superuser/ADB. I reinstalled Superuser and allowed ADB. Not sure if this applies to you, but it's just my suggestion.

Nice. I understand why you would want to get rid of the carrier bloatware but why get rid of Samsung's. Their software is what makes this phone great.

This is really stupid that they combined all these carriers into one thread so unfortunately I have to ask.....does this work on the AT&T I337? I know the whole TWRP recovery wont....

Yes it does.

The reason for it is because all Canadian carriers all use the same i337m (same internals 100% and same everything) and AT&T uses the i337 (Again; same everything pretty well, besides for the locked bootloader)
Therefore it only makes sense to put them all in one thread. More support, more devs, more views.. Hope this helps clarify

Not sure... Haven't tried or read into it... From my understanding it won't. But you could always give it a try. I only meant the root and debloat would work. Sorry for the confusion.

Yes. I know. Just trying to clarify for folks who aren't up to date. Bootloaders are not locked on Canadian version, just on US, so there's that.

Logo Me.. new boot logo changing app

Check out the new Logo Me app by one of our galaxy nexus developers, ezekeel, in the google play store. you can customize your phones boot logo and padlock icon. root is needed! https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=aperture.ezekeel.logome&feature
official app support thread on xda http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1698413
Description
APERTURE LABORATORIES proudly presents Logo Me.
With the Logo Me application you can conveniently change your device's bootlogo (not bootanimation) to a custom image with just a few simple clicks.
You can secure your custom logo with a numeric lock code (up to 9 digits). Changing or restoring the logo will only be possible after the lock code has been entered. This will allow you to tag your device by including your name and contact info on your custom bootlogo. In case your device gets stolen the thief will be having a hard time selling it. Also if you lose your device the finder will know how to contact you.
So far the following devices are supported:
* Galaxy Nexus
* Galaxy-SII
* Galaxy-SIII
* Galaxy Note
Note that not all hardware variants of these devices are supported yet, since I have not yet been able to obtain the necessary data for all models. If your device is on this list, but the app tells you that your model is not supported and you know how to handle terminal or adb shell and are willing to collect the necessary data, contact the author. The same holds for a yet unsupported bootloader.
If you own a recent (released after the Galaxy-SII) Samsung device running ICS which is not on the list, there is a good chance that I also can extend the support to this device - even tablets should work. Simply contact the author.
Use this application at your own risk. The author is not responsible for any damage resulting from the use of this app.

[ROM] Google Edition 4.3 [Clean][Deodex][Slim][282MB]

Development has moved to a unified page HERE.
This ROM is more or less a debloated stock GE 4.3.
Features
Deodexed
Zip-aligned
Rooted
Auto-loki (For AT&T I337 only)
Removed all apps available in the Play Store except for Google Keyboard
Removed some Samsung bloat
Reboot menu
Play Store 4.3.11
AT&T Hot Spot auto-login (For AT&T I337 only)
Google Wallet works out-of-the-box
Notes
This ROM uses a Sprint (l720) branded build.prop to make Wallet work out-of-the-box. There should be no problems with using a different branding from the phone you actually have. If you want to rebrand it to T-Mobile (m919), flash the attached build.prop but Wallet may stop working.

That's old news
Apps that are NOT working in 4.3 leaks
Friends, Romans & ROM lovers,
I've installed 4 different Android 4.3 leaks on my T-Mobile Galaxy S4 and here is a list of apps I've found that DO NOT work with ANY of them:
MX Player < VLC-debug-20130802-0106.apk is a working alternative
Titanium Backup < Move the folder as mentioned in a prior post
Dish AnyWhere < functional except if you try to watch any TV shows
Nova Launcher < works but if you add a gallery pic it can't be properly resized/enlarged but Nova backups does restore icons & screen settings.
Found a free app at Playstore that lets you resize gallery pics: Android Photo Widget
Navigation < You must first open Maps and then Navigation icon appears in apps list
Multi-window < Tried multi-window hack but does not work
If anyone finds a leak of 4.3 where the aforementioned work, please let all of us know!
Glenn

Try clearing camera data. As a general rule, if an app isn't working, try clearing its data. If that doesn't work, you may want to try a full wipe. If that still doesn't work, it's probably a ROM problem and I can look into it.
Does this have per app DPI? If not, Where would I go about learning to add such a function.

How are you testing this? Are you being prompted at all for root or is it automatically denying root? Root does work differently in 4.3 then it has worked in the past so some rooted apps may act differently as well. The real question is are you getting prompted for root access when you open these apps and do you have a root shell in ADB?

Well, then perhaps TricksterMod needs updating. It reports that the phone is not rooted, and then closes.
And that goes for Fast Charge (a toggle app), too. What root apps are confirmed to be WORKING?

Interesting... I just downloaded trickster and I did get a root prompt. Check your settings under "superuser" and see if it is allowed for apps. Also, did you download any third party SU app?
I am currently compiling a new rom now to see if that might help you...

Its not rooted, you must install superuser from recovery twrp description

20131028: include multiwindow support (start some app, hold down home key, hold your finger on any app, and click "add to split view")
You may neeed to set APN manually for gsm data, or just install http://dualhoki.vim.hu/bubor/dev/omnirom/Apn-fix.zip from recovery. Without clean install, you have to reset APN settings: settings-> more... -> mobile network -> access point names , click settings, Reset default.
One more rom,Glide still alive, thanks bubor

WTF!!
P.S. I wonder why Omni can attract everyone's attention with just a speech, after all it's just another AOSP ROM, and the said "universal compatibility" is not that easily achievable...

what is capps? First build so no changelog and nobody knows the bugs.
For rooting, you must install superuser, what is inside my last twrp.

I care about who's in the party but care more about what the party's gonna throw at me. If it's another AOSP ROM that's painstaking to set up to ideal condition then I doubt if I would swallow (ParanoidAndroid/PACman are brilliant but I never got them to work exactly as I thought).

what is "install the su-script"?
does /system/bin/.ext/.su exists?
I did it with new install, you need to wipe system only, install rom, gapps, and that is. If you tried to install superuser already, it might be problem.

I mean, when superuser asks you to install it via TWRP.
That's what I meant.
I just deleted su in bin, in the original instructions you stated to erase su in xbin...

[INFO/APPS] How to Block Ads [NO ROOT/ ROOT]

Are you sick and tired of Ads taking up the precious real estate of your screen?
Do you find yourself mistakenly clicking on an Ad only to find that you're downloading something you don't want?
Are you worried about the risks to your privacy/security posed by Ads?
If you answered Yes! Damn yes!!! to the questions above, look no further, here are two great apps that will solve this problem for you.
If you're worried that you're going to need root access, dont worry. I've something for non-rooted droids as well!
Before you embark on your Ad-less voyage you've to allow installation of apps from unknown apps first.
Don't know how ? Its easy. Just head over to Settings>Security>Unknown Sources. Just tick that check box right over there.
AdAway[ROOT]
AdAway is open source and is what I use on my phones and tablet. It blocks ads on browser as well as on apps by modifying your hosts file.
Download AdAway from here and install it.
Open the app and click on 'Download files and apply ad blocking' and reboot when the dialog boc pops up.
Thats it, you're done!:good:
Bonus Tip: @BSDgeek_Jake has made a super hosts file. To use it,go to Hosts sources and click on 'ADD'. and paste this address http://adblock.mahakala.is/. Remember to thank him here when you are done. :victory::highfive:
AdFree[ROOT]
AdFree works the same way as AdAway i.e, by modifying Hosts file. You can use it if AdAway isn't working or you.
Find the latest version here.
Adblock Plus[NO-ROOT]
Adblock Plus is a good alternative for non-rooted devices. It'll block ads everywhere. It does its magic by using a proxy.
Download and install the apk that you get from here.
If you don't have root you need to go here and learn how to setup a proxy manually.
Configure the proxy and you're good to go!:good:
The downside with non rooted device is that you can filter ads only while you're on a wifi connection. It doesn't work with data connection
Bonus Tip: If you use Firefox for android, you can install adblock plus extension from add-ons to block ads while browsing. This will work on data too! But remember it blocks apps only on the browser not on apps.:victory::highfive:
There are other apps that does the same thing, but in my opinion these two are the best.
When you are done, come back here and tell me which one worked best for you. :good::good::good:

Are you sure? Its working perfectly for me. Your device is rooted, isn't it? It only works if you're rooted. If you don't want to root use adblockplus.

MoAB is good but it's a huge file and frankly I don't see the difference.
It also isn't updated frequently, so you may see ads slipping in.
By using an app like AdAway you can add hosts sources which are up-to-date.
Also, you can build your own list easily in apps like AdAway and if you want you can directly add the to-be -blocked IP address to the hosts file.
You can't do all this if you simply flash a hosts file.

You can use UC- browser for blocking ads on mobile network. It has a default add on for ad blocking in it. But since i'm rooted, adaway works better for me.
