I have both in my hand. Reason for that is that VZW coverage is horrible where im at in weston fl, but AT&T blows away VZW coverage.
Problem im having is giving up my Nexus to actually keep the Note(Still in return period)
Am I spoiled by knowing that I have a Nexus? Am I spoiled by ICS?
I already have the official car dock for the note, wish VZW Nexus had an official dock that uses the Pogo pins...le sigh....
Anybody else been a similar situation ? Am I stupid for getting the note?
Please forum, help me make a decision on that to do, Thanks.

The ATT Note's hardware is pretty meh.
That said, a phone isn't worth diddly squat if you have no reception. I think the choice is pretty simple.
the note is perfectly fine for regular day to day use
that with the reception is a no brainer
or you can wait and hope that ATT comes out with the nexus with LTE soon
another option is the non-LTE nexus you can use on ATT, its only around $450 new anyways
edit : there IS ICS on the note, and CM9 is going to work on the note real soon
Sell the note and get gsm nexus . Win win. Great reception and keeping the nexus!

I love the Note. The international version is a great device.
Haven't used the AT&T one, but if you like the software and speed, then it's all good!

ATT Note is a Snapdragon S3.
I sold my AT&T note for a Galaxy Nexus unlocked. Other than the screen size there is nothing about the Note that is better than the nexus. I lpromise you. Touch wiz is junk, no chrome beta which is King on the Nexus. I actually used ADW ICS theme on my note. But Snapdragon S3 chip was mega mehhhhhhhh. Even when it gets ICS sure it will be smoother but you will still get that touch wiz overlay. The AT&T version development is kinda lacking.
If your getting a note go international, trust me. Also had a software problem with crushed blacks and blocky blacks on the note with video and photos. And I went through 4 of em. All the same problem.

Just buy an HSPA+ Nexus?
The Nexus is useless w/o service.
Well , sold the VZW Nexus, Returned the note, and got a White GSM Galaxy Nexus. got it over night it with Amazon Prime !!
Not a big fan of the att note but coming from the intl note, it's the perfect phone. screen is great and perfect for browing or watching movies. the only reason why i gave it up is because att sucks in my area. verizon is great and using my nexus with an ipad is working out nicely. still missing my note though.

Best comment in the thread.
Phat, I'm glad you were able to get the best of all worlds. I can't do a GSM phone because they just aren't good where I am. I'm stuck with whatever scraps VZW throws my way.

Greets! Having used Moto and HTC on Verizon, I've been pretty pleased with the 4G performance- but I've seen some disturbing posts on the Samsung Radios on the GNEX and the NOTE.
I'd buy a Razr Maxx HD without fear about the reception, calls dropping, and expect good data connections.
But now that the NOTE 2 is available for pre-order on VZW, I'm considering it very strongly. (It would make my 59 year old eyeballs very happy!)
So... how is the reliability and performance of the Note's data and voice? Comparable to Moto?
Thanks for any knowledgeable comments- these will pretty much make up my mind whether to buy a Samsung product or not (yet).
Cheers!

After making my phone auto roam about 50% of the time over the course of a year. I finally got the we are terminating you letter today. In March of 2012 I got a warning letter, called them and explained that I get very spotty sprint coverage near my house and was told not to worry about it and that they would note on my account that a little extra roaming was ok. I guess they finally had enough of that. Can't really blame them, not mad at all, sometimes change is good, I'm kinda tired of relying on my airave at home.
The only carrier that has decent coverage here is Verizon, any suggestions on my new phone that I'll be picking up this weekend? I'm currently thinking either GS3 or Note II. Although I have never seen a note in person, if it looks too big to wear comfortably in my pocket that will be out.
I would say a gs3. The note #
2 is nice and all but it is a bit to big.

Congratulations. Many sprint users pray for that letter.
May not be possible for you to do but I'd try to go prepaid until the gs4 drops or see what's going to happen with the HTC m7.
Note 2 will probably have a better resell value if you're looking to get a new phone later this year
Definitly wait a bit if you can ... HTC Butterfly/Droid DNA, HTC m7 Sony Xperia Z/ZL, Samsung Galaxy SIV, or my favourite ( so far ) - LG Optimus G Pro! Last year phones are also gr8, but I'd force myself to wait a bit ...
Congratulations! It took me 3 months of 100% roaming to get that letter.
I've been really happy with VZW except for their awesome update policy.
I would go for the note 2 personally because I run a business on the side and the spen would be amazing to have for credit card transactions. It's kinda large but still fits OK in pockets unless you're one of those hipster types in skinny jeans. My only gripe was that it's like holding a book up to your head.
We had an extra one on the corporate plan at work so I checked it out. Very nice, fast and OK battery life.
Prepaid, wait for the next nexus IMO. You will never have a better experience than with a nexus device.
I know what you mean about VZW being the only carrier with reception, that is how it is here too. I was in the VZW store this past weekend playing with the phones. I definitely like the Note 2. I understand not liking the larger screens if you have small hands or something, but I have large man sized hands. The phones are going to have to get bigger than 6" before I jump on the "too big" bandwagon.

Motorola X phone. Enough said.
You should pick up a Jitterbug if you can find it; otherwise the Sammy Galaxy SIII is pretty sweet.
Just get an iPhone 5 until the X Phone comes out, sell, then buy X phone.

Nothing..... if you're a thin woman.
Everyone else, there's lots wrong.
Maybe a crazy thought, but since both sprint and Verizon are CDMA, is it possible to flash my sprint Gnex to be used on Verizon? Or even US Cellular. Both work good in my area.

I know people do that with phones that have a bad ESN, so I don't see why it wouldn't work...
I'd be the worst person to ask, though. I've never heard of someone flashing a phone with a clean ESN that came out of a contract cancellation.
I'm tempted to let my phone download a couple of gigs a night to make them term my contract.

Hey my friend what are you going to do with that sprint galaxy nexus?

Hey fellow Note Fantantics!
Like I said in title, i'm a veteran Samsung Note series owner who's now the proud daddy of a a new sexa black Note 3 after switching to T-Mobile from AT&T last night. Was a Verizon customer for many years way back but after finding out they were never gonna get the Note 1 that I had to absolutely have to have, I ditched em and went to AT&T in my home state and freaking fell in love with the Note series, never missed my Droid X ever again after that.
Lost my Note 1 to a bathtub screw up *still cringe in dreams* and with no insurance, had to pay a chunk to get a new plan and Note 2 with AT&T, and all was good.
Until I moved last year and my Note 2 started to act up with RIGHT AFTER the warranty ended and I cancelled my square trade warranty during my moving chaos *sigh.....* Neither Samsung nor AT&T would help me even though it was less then a month past warranty. AT&T then started to really tick me off with billing and costs and just flat out rude store workers.
Been hearing about T-mobiles shaking things up in the industry and mostly for good reasons. Old homestate didnt' have any coverage but my new town of Seattle has got plenty of pink out here, so after thinking about it, I went and did my research, saw their deal about paying off AT&T cancel fee's and with my Note 2 getting worse each week, I decided to go for it.
Being a good boy got a lovely 32gig Note 3 with no money up front and my new job nets me a 15% discount on my bill so I added Jump! in case I have to have the Note 4 right away and I get insurance on top of it I'm now on da pink side with my black and i'm loving it!! After having 2 white notes, and really not liking that strange "diamond mesh" pattern on the Note 3's white, I went for the professional brushed black.
Now I just gotta decide on a case to protect this thing... Spigen Slim Armor or Neo Hybrid. Had a Commuter on my Note 2, and it was good but i'm tired of such a bulky case and don't want to go through that again. Think im gonna get another Spigen Oelphophica screen protector though, I liked the one on my Note 2.
Spigen Neo Hybrid is the way to go. It maintains the nice slim profile and they look great.

Just want some input from the community. I'm looking to jump the Verizon ship. $250 for 3 phones is crazy when I see offers from Sprint and Tmobile for $100-150 for the same plans or better. What company should I go with? As it pertains to the S6, not sure what I am going to get, the S6 or S6 Edge. Is it advisable to use a screen protector or case with these, even though they have Gorilla Glass 4?

Well I never use any cases on my phones, I just don't like to hide this beautiful phone under an ugly case, but it's just my opinion. I think you should check to see if you get good service from T-Mobile in your area, if you do get good service then you should definitely go for T-Mobile, they have great deals, great customer service, no contract, no commitments... and oh get the S6 Edge, you won't regret it.

I agree with covering a phone, I don't like doing it, and actually stopped doing it with my LG G3. Thank you for the input, I really appreciate it.
I would check the coverage map for the carriers in you area before switching. I recently switched to T-mobile from AT&T and I don't regret my decision one bit, having said that, if T-mobile has good coverage in your area go with them. Also, remember that they will pay your contract or the remaining balance on your phone's payment plan (up to $650),
Yes IMO it is important to get a Case.
One Video shows brutal drop test- another does about 5 or 6 drops at various heights and creates nicks in Metal and cracks screen at drop 5 or 6.
You can get a Clear case though like Casemate Naked Tough.
Case negates the cool Edge to a large extent.....but needed IMO .
WOW...I have three phones on Verizon and my last bill was only a little over $124.00 with 5GB of shared data! If you push them to give you all the deals they can find, and threaten to leave, you should be able to lower that cost considerably...unless you are paying for some huge data plan???
