(Video Review) - Spigen Neo Hybrid Lumi Series - Galaxy S III Accessories

Had a few people message me on Youtube asking me to start posting some of my reviews over here for you guys
Must say the Neo-Hybrid is so far the best case i have tried for both style and function, sure it's not the cheapest or offers the best drop protection but for who it is aimed at, it does the best job so far
Retail price is $26.99 from SGP Directly

thanks, i wish they had more colours options though.
would love a grey plastic 'ring' + a dark grey/charcoal colour case. not a fan of sparking blue
and wish me luck in your giveaway

VIDEO REVIEW: SGP Ultra Capsule Case for Galaxy Nexus

Hey guys,
Got my hands on the Ultra Capsule case from SGP, this is a TPU style case that offers a slim and stylish design but not much protection. I love the look of the case and the ports/cutouts are spot-on. The case fits my GSM Galaxy Nexus (w/ extended battery) just fine. Full video below:

Anytime - thanks for the kind words
Bought the soul black color because of this video (I don't like the white one LOL) and it's a purchase I don't regret at all. This is waaay better than the Neo ones. Thanks for the video.
Thank you for the Video
I have this case and love it. Well for the most part. I have the white one and over the 4/5 months I've had it, it has picked up a yellowish tint on the back. Which is a shame because now I'm looking to replace it because of that.
I'm very tempted to go for exactly the same again, but I'm also shopping around looking for White TPU cases that are very thin and light.
Any recommendations on that front?
Check overstock. They had some barely there cases.

Any idea if your blue jeans are marking on the white case?
I was looking at this a few days ago. One of the other products that SGP has makes it look like the HTC One X if you have the white casing on.

Video Review: Aluminum Bumper Case Review

Hey fellas,
Got my hands on affordable (but well made!) aluminum bumper style case for the Galaxy S3. This particular model came from Tmart but you can find similar ones on eBay, in all sorts of colors. It's a two piece case that fits nice and snug around your S3. It WILL bubble up some screenshields, which is unfortunate. All the ports and the cutouts are spot on, which is impressive for such an affordably priced case. Overall, while it doesn't offer a lot of protection, if you're looking for a bumper case - this is a good option!

Why keep throwing that word "affordable" out and not say what you paid for it? I have this very case since August ordering it straight from the manufacturer. I could find no dealer in the US. Plus, there were many knockoffs, especially on Ebay. Don't get me wrong, I love my TrioBump, I'm just annoyed at how so many post while leaving out details!
EDIT: Well, I watched the video and must apologize and complain even more! I should have watched it first (my bad) but I'd rather read the pertinent details in the post than watch a vid. I do not agree with your assessments. I think this case gives protection where it is needed most. I don't use any of those new fangled screen protectors that supposedly protect the display from impact damage. I think that's going to far. I do employ the Invisishield on front and back. It give a very snug fit with no bubbling. That said, I'm confident that I will not get any damage if my phone take a hit anywhere this bumper covers. My only concern would be having it hit a rock directly to the screen and in that case, I have insurance. I like the minimalist form factor plus the ease with which it can be taken on/off to change batteries. Plus, I can use it with my FlyGrip which is why I searched for just such a minimalist case. You slip in your two fingers and can use the phone with one hand without worrying about dropping. Plus, as you can see, it doubles as a stand. What has me newly annoyed is the price you quoted. I paid about 4o bucks from the manufacturer, Gimmick Five. I don't see how it could be sold for just 10 dollars.
EDIT: Just checked Gimmick Five's website, and they are still listed at 39.99 US. I'd like to know the story behind Tmart's TrioBumps.

Best Case for Samsung Galaxy Note 3 (Wallet type case with card slots)?
Hard to say what is a best since it could be a matter of personal preference, but you can get a lot of choices here: http://www.tvc-mall.com/search?cid=&q=note+3+wallet
If I'm looking for no-brand name accessories, I typically deal with either tvc-mall.com for cases or dx.com for other gadgets.

I like texture of this case.
I have not seen any brand cases where they have those card slots and have nice texture.
Many cases looks so wierd and poor quality.

Looks very similar to one of the S4 cases I tested/reviewed from case-parts.com (it's the same company as tvc-mall.com), here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2319150 - scroll down to white wallet case. The texture and built quality was very good.

Taking a shot with this. Exactly the type and style I was looking for. Almost abnormally high number of 5 star reviews on Amazon but looks legit:
Black Panther Leather Wallet Case
Black Leather Wallet Case
Ordered the Black Panther directly through their website, followed on Twitter for 10% discount, ends up $9 cheaper than Amazon
Fliptroniks direct link
No mention of it (or the company) through a search here at xda so taking a chance. I'll return and give my opinion once I get it.
Spigeon Slim Armor S-view
Although I usually love Spigeon cases, the Slim Armor S-View model is sub-par IMO. The hinge for the front cover is held together by two small plastic pegs, which after less than a month of opening and closing it has caused the plastic part that holds the pegs in, to break off and the hinge will not stay on and close. If you just love the case or want the S-View function, than I would eith suggest the official Samsung S-View case and buy the magnetic clips to keep it closed, or get a knock-off case. I remember aliexpress.com having a bunch of knock-off stuff for cheap, but keep in mind it is still knock-off/clones.
Wallet case? I don't know, probably Spigen has some nice cases. I have one wallet case and is from Design Skin. I like it, but don't how others would think about it.
I just want to say i don't like my Note 3.

Ultimate case to buy ?

I've been reading this forum for an hour and I cant make a decision LOL :crying:
Which case should I get for my Nexus 5?
I was gonna get the ultra slim from spigen.. but then I read all these cons. Overall, almost all the "highly reviewed" cases on amazon have been negatively talked about ..
Which case should I get ?
I'm looking for mainly scratch protection, since I dont think i'll be dropping it much. Really do not want to add bulk, and I love the way the N5 feels without a case.
EXTREMELY open to recommendations , even if it goes against what i'm looking for !
If it matters i'm installing a MIME ghost screen protector :good:
looking forward to suggestions and recommendations ! thanks ! :fingers-crossed:

U wont be dropping it much..mainly scratch protection is what you want.. Then why dont you go for a skin..it will protect from scratches and minor drops too..n u will he able to maintain the slimness and lightness of your N5..
I have ordered one from slickwraps..they have an amazing collection for reasonable pricing..

Can't go wrong with the official LG Hardshell case. Super slim, well designed, and light. Comes in white too if that tickles your fancy.

I'm quite partial to the Quicksand hardcases. I love the texture and the feel of it. It's also flexible and durable. It's super cheap in comparison to most other hardcases as well (which is why I have 8 of them in various colours haha). I got them for $0.99 each shipped, but they're a bit more expensive now because they've become so popular. Still cheap though.
You can see my review here (with tons of pictures), and lots of discussion about them as well. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2577289
If you want just purely minimal. The OEM LG Hardshell will probably suit you. It's pretty much the most minimal of minimal cases you can buy. It turns out it doesn't really suit me (too much love for the Quicksand!) but there are others here who really love it. The black is similar to the back of the black Nexus 5, and the white case is similar (a bit more slippery, same as a white Ringke Slim, or Spigen Ultra Fit) to the white back.
You can see my review here of it (lots of pics too). http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2643884
I don't use a screen protector, so I'm not sure if the Quicksand would interfere with it or not. I don't believe anyone has said there is any problems with Quicksand cases and screen protectors though, pretty much everyone has said it is fine. But the LG case does not even create a lip over the screen at all so that one would be guaranteed not to have any issues.

Go for quicksand (they're awsome) or consider frosted semi-transparent if you have white nexus (semi transparent feels almost the same as the back of black Nexus).
They're just 99 cent each (around $3 if you want to buy it with fast shipping from US) so even if you won't like them it's not going to be like you threw away your money.
How about 2 quick sand cases for free? I have a black and grey quick sand case. I'll be more than happy to mail them to you. PM your mailing address if you're interested.
Edit: got your address! I'm not using it cause I just use it naked
The awesome cruzerlite bugdroid case. Super classy and functional. I would recommended anything rubber really, don't go with with hard cases since they offer little to none protection when dropped.

I've stopped myself from buying the SPIGEN's so far from seeing discoloration issues or scratches on corners just from the case itself !!
I've tried multiple cases always.coming back to diztronic tpu case. It just feels slim and good in hand.

I'm in the same situation as you.
I bought, a few weeks ago, the Ultra Fit from SPIGEN and after some time, it scratched a little bit 2 of my corners. I was very carefull because I expected it could happen (reading the reviews) so it's not too bad, but I won't use it anymore.
According to reviews, the Ringke Slim is worse for scratching corners...
So I'm looking for another slim/minimal case but all of them have bad reviews or issues.
I'm thinking going naked
or maybe should I get a Quicksand or a Poetic Palette, which one is the best ? the texture seem to be similar...
and what about this one from LG ?

thanks
I'm using ringke fusion hybrid for a nice balance of protection and size. Also have a slickwraps wood back wrap that shows nicely through the clear back. The case is only $9 on Amazon with prime shipping too. I may buy the tech 21 case though from T-Mobile. Had it on my old gs4 and absolutely loved the feel of it.
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
the quicksand and poetic palette cases are one and the same. I've got the poetic because the few extra bucks was worth it for prime shipping and a 3 year warranty, plus I've been happy with my poetic cases in the past.
the LG hardshell is perfect if you truly want minimal
I would suggest you get a nice case for around $10 and a few cheapos from ebay ~$1. These cheapos are cheap only in terms of price but get the job done, like the quicksand cases that are all the rage here. I personally would not buy something very expensive.
I have a few cheap cases from ebay that cost ~$2-$3 dollars each and a SUPCASE Unicorn Beetle case. I use the SUPCASE every day and its really good for a $10 case. You should try it out!
1. Tech21, only sold at T-Mobile. About $30, but worth it when you see the YouTube video demo. Also search for the thread here discussing it.
2. Spigen Clear Ultra Hybrid. $10 -$15. Totally clear, very flexible and protective. It was my favorite for a few weeks until I got #1.
I bought a dozen more, not worth mentioning except for the Spigen Black Ultra Hybrid with clear back. But #2 (another Spigen) is better.
Still, Tech21 beats them all.

Ringke Cases [REVIEW]

So, I regularly review for Ringke and got the V20 on launch day. I will be adding reviews to this post as I get more of the products. Please leave any feedback or questions you may have.
Ringke [Fusion] Clear.
I got this case as soon as I could, as I got the phone on launch day. I do get products to review from Ringke, but I went out on a limb and purchased this one on the strength of their Note 7 line up, which I really enjoyed.
Pros:
1. Sturdy TPU/PU construction is made to last.
2. Cut outs are accurate and functional. I haven't had to remove the case to access any features.
3. Clear TPU/PU is holding it's color exceptionally well. (Others tend to yellow quickly)
4. Raised camera lip.
4. Screen protector friendly (anyone coming from an edge device knows the struggle lol)
5. Price. (cases at tmo were $39.99)
6. Availability
7. Comes with pattern to print your own insert for the transparent back.
8. Raised frame on back for additional clearance.
Cons:
1. My only wish is to see easier pull tabs on the protective plastic that covers the clear back (inside & out).
All in all, Ringke has not disappointed with their latest offerings, and I will continue to bring you the details !

you should try the onyx in midnight navy. looks really good and feels good.

I am waiting for my ringke fusion smoke black currently using vrs carbon fit pretty good protection little bit on the thick side though but with a handy kickstand
Have the Fusion and I really like how minimal it is. The phone still feels thin-ish. Not 100% convinced in the camera protection now that we've seen what can happen and how easily but it is far better than nothing.
I had the clear Ringke Fusion. I loved the look of the case, but it offered no protection for the camera, so i decided to go a different route.
I'm really bummed to see there's no Ringke Slim case. My only go to case. I've emailed them about it but they've ignored me.

I ended up going with this case:
LG V20 case, suensan Premium Pc Lightweight Slim Ultra Thin Hard Case for LG V20 (Black)
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01L0FIH4E/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_RZpmybBV3K25V
It's, without a doubt, the closest V20 case you'll find to Ringke's Slim line. It's almost the same exact material, weight and size found in the Slim line.
Like many of our options, the downside is that it offers virtually no protection for the camera glass. I attached a Spigen kickstand between the camera and fingerprint sensor in an attempt to mitigate any possible damage. I'm hopeful that Ringke will release a Slim case, but not keeping my fingers crossed.
Some quick shots.
Unfortunately, it's probably worth noting that it appears that Ringke did not release a Slim case for the LG V10.
Anyone got a pic of the smoke black/clear case for the v20? Wpould like to see if along with the choice of a quality tempered screen protector.. Slim or fat cases don't mean much, as long as the rear cameras is protected and there's a flush (flat) surface when phone is sitting on the table and you tap it...?
I got the Ringke ONYX Extreme Protection Case, that was the only 1 they had at the time, before the official release. I did like the Fusion that I had on my Note 7, so I'll probably end up getting 1 for the V20 as well. I just wish they offered more color options, blues and greens.

Less than $5 on Amazon Prime right now. Definitely worth it!
Just got my Slate Grey Ringke Onyx case and I really like it. Nice no frills case with camera protection. Just got back from Thanksgiving travel but I will post pictures when I get a chance. Good case for a great price.
I've bought Ringke clear case before. Thing yellowed and oranged so bad in 3 months, I'd never waste my money on their clear cases again.
one guy says camera protection and then another says it doesn't ?!?!
