I never get the mobile network dark green signal.
What may be the reason ?

I'm on the same ROM. My mobile reception bar looks like yours, same colour. I have 5 bars reception at the moment.
Stop dropping your phone - it may break!

Now I have stop dropping the phone after it has lot of scratches and now I have a case so it won't break hope so.
My last record is dropping the phone from 5.5 feet which is my height upto shoulder and it drop while taking snap.
And btw my other HTC phone have full reception and the bar is green.
Me too have full signal but bar never gets green.
And my network signal never goes below 80 but with the same career it is - 75 in my another phone.
I just want to confirm is there any thing went wrong after several drop ?
Is there any thing broken internally. I just paid 800$ for this phone as we have no contract in our country , we have to pay fully for the phone and the career charges are seperate.
So please let me know whether it is related with Rom or hardware ?

Can you guys check what's the maximum signal strength you get with your Hox (in perfect line of sight to a nearby umts base station).
Signal strength values in Android range between -51dBm (best) and -109dBm (worst).
I had some problem recently. After a warranty repair my phone never exceeded -71dBm (whereas before I easily had -51dBm in the office, where I have a base station in front of the window).

Any one has the same issue ?

If you have dropped the phone many times then perhaps the antenna got deformed, loosened up etc.. Just one possibility, after all we all know how antenna deformation can affect WiFi signal strength.

Frankly I have no idea.
But according to this , the cellular antenna is at the bottom part of the phone (at least for the AT&T variant, probably the same location for international one as well). You could try the same technique used to debug WiFi problem.... perhaps squeeze the bottom part of the phone ? All guess work here, so do it at your own risk..

It is the issue with all rom. I have full reception in stock rom. I tried every rom , it has issues.

Weakest Wifi - hardware FIXED!

Is there anyway to boost the wifi on this thing. I have 3 tablets (samsung tab 7, Lenovo Ideapad K1, and this) Samsung and Lenovo keeps connection with my home router but this one it disconnects half the time. Kinda frustrating. I assume this also will kill my battery faster than it already does. Any advice?
EDIT:
So I exchanged my tablet and still the replacement has bad wifi. I figure this had to be hardware related so following the procedure here I decided to take it upon myself to figure it out. If youre not comfortable doing this I suggest just keep returning your unit till you get a good one. Note when you remove the first side bezel there's a black sticker over one of the screws. I was able to remove it easily with an exacto knife being careful not to rip it so I can put it back on later. After removing the 3 sides except for the power button side (not necessary) you remove the back off and you end up with this.

I'm not sure which is the wifi antenna or if they work as a pair but I moved both antenna connectors around (I didnt try to remove it cause this might make the connectors loose) and moved the black antenna right on top the camera. Reference all the red arrows. I left the tablet on so I was able to tell if it was making a difference. Eventually got it to get 2 bars just like on my Lenovo Ideapad! Possibly one of the micro coax connetors was not making good contact. These are the same RF connectors on RC receivers so they are a little more susceptible in losing contact specially if they're too lose. So just move them side to side and dont remove or lift them off.
Prior to this I was alternating between no bar and 1. This time it consistently stayed at 2 bars regardless how I moved or where I moved in my room (our router is in another room upstairs). Carefully put the tablet back together and now my connection is stable 2 bars. Finally!
So it does seem like there's some QA issue with these tablets. There's a huge thread in the acertabletforum about this issue and some say to change your connection from DHCP to static but that doesnt make logic sense to me. Some have been able to exhange theirs gotten good replacements.
Anyhow if you have any question, let me know.
I was actually thinking that wifi going out when it's turned off might be on purpose to prolong the crappy battery life.

Not when its turned off. Theres a setting for that to disable wifi when you turn screen off. But thats not what I'm talking about. My wifi disconnects as I'm surfing or downloading from market or a file.
hmm, does it look like it has a weak signal strength or are you sitting at a good connection and it drops all of the sudden?
If it isn't a weak connection, I assume the device is just having a problem with your router settings. Maybe call support to see if they can give you information, but I haven't heard of this issue. What about open networks at coffee shops or the like? Do you have the same issues?
This is my third tablet and this tablet has the best WiFi that I have seen so far, so I don't think it is a problem with the signal strength.
Maybe I have a bad unit but I went to Bestbuy today and the a100 could not connect to their bestbuy router. It says "not in range". All the other ones (galaxys, xooms, acer, asus, HTC flyer all were connected to bestbuy wifi. HTC and samsung were the better ones at full bars. Acer had 2 and asus had 3. I don't recall what the xooms were. But man what a disappointment. The only thing good was that the a100 was the cheapest at $249. They must've brought the price down again.

LOL i remember those! funny as hell how many people got suckered into that lol
Also radios can only do so much, the absence of signal is always going to be just that. You need to retransmit, no piece of shielding on your phone will change that, that is just a fancy sticker that will if anything lower your signal because it is now blocking it, and without connecting to the radio itself it cant do anythign.
I think it may be a hardware or software defect, because the area is CLEARLY covered by VZ 4G and even outside I can not get signal, I have to walk at least 100'.....flashing stock then calling VZ.....
Wonder if this would help at all, looks like a hoax.....

Does this hook up to the antenna port in the back? Giving the antenna a ground plane like the roof of the car should improve reception. It's too bad the back has to come off to hook it up... then again a drill could easily fix that.

Edit: looks like those antenna ports in the back may be fragile. be careful.
Indeed. As per a thread from September, break one of those antenna ports and you won't get signal, GalNex won't revert to internal antennas. Supposedly, just relaying what I heard.

so no.
It doesn't seem line this would work.....no wires, no power source.....
And no I do live on a 5 acre lot with a good amount of trees....even out in the open 4G signal is very difficult to find. Maybe its a bad LTE chip
EDIT: Called up verizon and they said I was in an extended area and the tower 0.3 miles from me is 3G and thats why my phone isn't connecting to the 4G tower.... :[ wonder if I can force connect to a certain tower...

Location of Wifi antenna and how to acquire replacement

I did a couple searches on the official search and on google and found nothing so if this is a repost my apologies.
I have a verizon galaxy nexus, that randomly has been giving a real issue with it's wifi. Not sure how it came to be. I flashed a new rom and kernel and latest radios one day and noticed it dipped. I can be on top of the router and only show 2 MAYBE! 3 bars. Once I walk about 20 feet away I have 0-1... so I went ahead and recovered my old rom and settings via nandroid. No difference. I went back and reflashed using twrp, my old radios as well. Still no difference. Now just today after dealing with this for about 2 weeks I went ahead and fastboot flashed my phone back to stock and everything... low and behold... no difference. So I have come to the conclusion it could be hardware related. I opened my phone up and I have been taking guesses as to which antenna is actually the wifi one as I can't seemed to find any identifying marks and all the tear downs I find are for GSM models. But while I was in there, i made sure the pogo points were making contact, I cleaned all the components with electronics cleaner and everything. No difference for worse or better frankly. So replacing the antenna I guess is the only idea I have left to see but I don't wanna buy a whole broken phone for several 100 bucks.
Thanks

I can't help with the location of the antenna, but have you tried other routers? I know some of these phones can have trouble with some. Mine in particular has a very hard time staying connected on the 5ghz band on my home router even when I'm two feet away. After forcing it to the 2ghz band, it worked fine. Might want to try a different router, or even find a free hotspot somwhere, to test on another one before attempting to replace the antenna.

Sadly, it's all routers. My house one if I sit on my bad barely receives signal from the router half way on the other side of the room. Meanwhile my laptop can pick up the signal halfway into my backyard. Worked fine before the symptoms began.
Work routers, we have 2. One is a private network for our printers, I sit approximately 15 feet away from it and have about 2 bars. My other one from the main network does not even appear anymore. It is about 20-30 feet away thru 2 walls. Prior to the issue popping up, I had full bars for the one and about 2-3 for the other.
Changing settings on my home router does nothing sadly.

interesting... mine shows -44 sitting across the office from my router; -4 to -8 if I hold it right over the router so yeah, I'd agree that you defintely have something going on.
pardon my lack of re-reading the entire thread but have you reloaded your radios? remember that a Nandroid backup and flashing a ROM and that kind of thing doesn't necessarily update/replace radios.
maybe getting a copy of the appropriate version of radios from here on XDA and then manually flashing those?

[Q] Weak Wifi Signal

Has anyone else noticed really poor wifi signals on this phone? At my work I used to get either full signal or one bar shy of full signal with my nexus 5. Now on the LG G3 I don't pick anything up at all. Just curious if I am the only one. Thanks.
I haven't had any problems with it, btw i have the sprint variant if that matters
This really belongs in Q&A, but anyway it's probably the router. It either needs a power cycle or it's a meh router. I'm getting 390-433Mbps on my G3 coupled with an Asus AC68U even when I'm outside my apartment.
Also, check the Mbps, because bars aren't a very accurate measurement.
Edit - If it's work Wi-Fi, your connection could also be meh due to other users connecting with wireless G along with them pulling data at the same time.

Its possibly a router issue and everyone diving on that sweet wireless
Thread moved from General -> Q&A, all questions belong in the Q&A section, please read the mod warnings and follow the rules.
Thanks everyone. I do get the same signal at home that I did with the nexus so it must be the router like you are saying. Sorry for posting in the wrong section, I am new to posting on the forum. If a moderator could move it over I would appreciate it.
Bars mean nothing between phones. The full bar signal strength for one manufacturer may be 1 bar for another.

Ah, I misread your first post. Have you checked the actual wifi signal strength at home with your old phone for comparison? Also, do you know what kind of signal the work router uses and what your home is? (dual band, N, G, or AC, etc)

Yes, at home it works flawlessly and is no different than my nexus 5 so I am thinking that it is the router at work like everyone has said.
wifi signal
Mine is weak too in job comes in and out on my old s5 was constant also mbps is slower on lg g3 compared to s5 right now connected to 5ghz ac I'm at 292mbps and my wifes s5 is at 866 mbps its not router cause like I said in job on s5 was a constant connection and on lg g3 comes in and out.The range is not as far and in job there are 5 ssid I can connect too if others dont work.
I have pretty slow wifi on my g3 to.
My WiFi is great and consistent on my F460S. Maybe there is something on your phone interfering with it? Have you tried to do a reset (soft or hard)? My wife's S5 is a little slower than my G3 at times but its usually around the same speeds. I also tested my D850 G3 and its the same as this one. What model G3 are you using?
Here is a SS of mine (its not the fastest but its at least consistent. )

Cellular reception

One thing I noticed so far with the M9 was the cellular network signal in the battery stats. Is there a reason why it is always red? It was never like that on my M8.

Interesting..I'm holding both my m8 and m9 in my hands...let me swap the SIM from m8 to m9 and compare ookla speed tests
---------- Post added at 12:52 AM ---------- Previous post was at 12:14 AM ----------
LTE speeds are the same up and down on m8 and 9...but in the power history I do have the red bar too constantly for cellular signal on the m9. Feeling more of a software glitch than an actual hardware issue...granted that's on a ten minute test comparison...I've yet to fully use my m9 as my daily driver.
Ignore it. Get something like this and post up your actual signal readings.
my signal bars are usually in the two - three range at home but I can still get 23 mbps down and 12 up.
The actual numbers are
LTE RSRP Signal: -107 db (30%)
LTE RSSI Signal: -81 db (49%)
LTE RSRQ: -8 db ( 71%)
LTE SNR: 16 db (72%)
LTE CQI: n/a
LTE Signal Strength: 17 db (55%)
I compared my S5 with M9 using the built in dBm meter and they are just about the same. I don't believe there is problem with the radio in this phone. However, there seems to be a bug with the new Google Services that GMaps is using. The new GServices is waking the radio a lot in my S5 and M9. Before the update to maps/services, I would get 2.5-3 days from my S5. After the update I average 1.5-2 days.
My reception is horrible compared to my M8, this doesn't look good, i have both side by side and activated, my M9 is showing 3g with one bar and my M8 is showing 4g with 2-3 bars.

Install the above app on your devices, restart them, and see how the numbers compare. Signal bars can and are manipulated to suit the carrier/manufacturer's desires. My M8 and M9 are nearly identical. If yours are consistently way off, you might indeed have a lemon.

I totally jumped the gun, I must have only had partial signal, I was receiving texts and calls but i could not make calls, I hadn't fully activated my new M9 I had to call Verizon, she had me reboot the device and she reset it and now all is fine. Signal seems much better now and messages even seem to send faster. The M9 is bad-ass all the naysayers out there are just butthurt cause they can't get one and have to legitimize in their own little heads why they don't want one LOL. I am perfectly happy with the M9 and so glad I didn't fall for the Samsung hype. Reading through Samsung comments it seems the Samsung fanboys are turning into something much worse than iPhone fanboy's LMAO!
