Google Voice MIUI - Verizon Droid Incredible 2

I can't seem to make phonecalls with voice. No option to call outbound seems to be available. However incoming calls seem to work.
Also noticed it doesn't display the special call screen that voice uses.
Has anyone for this to work with miui 1.9.9 with tiamat kernel?
Thanks bros

Same problem on all miui releases for me
Sent from my Incredible 2 using xda premium

Same here. Whether i choose google voice for all calls, or to ask on every call, it still comes through with my regular cell number. MIUI 1.9.16, Tiamat 1.1.2 kernel.

Don't you need the old version of google voice for all that to work? I thought they removed that feature due to people using it for free minutes. I still run the old version if anyone wants it
Sent from my Incredible 2 using Tapatalk

Figured it out guys. Disable 'third party access' under system>calls
Sent from my Incredible 2 using Tapatalk

They did not remove that feature, they just fixed the way people were making free calls using the top 10 free callers on verizon and such. Also you can still make free calls if you set up a sip. Otherwise you are only hurting yourself running and older version
Sent from my Incredible 2 using xda premium

Not really. The new version runs much slower on my phone than the old one. It takes sometimes over 5 seconds for the app to open on my phone with the new version where the old one is instant for me. Also on the new one if i'm receiving a msg as i'm sending one, my sent msg will hang until I FC voice.
If you like the new one that's fine. I'll stick with my version until the new one works right for me.

Thanks a lot! That make Google Voice work for me in MIUI.
It's not under system though, it's Application > Call Settings
Then turn off "Third Part Access".
Thanks again

Hey, knipp. How do you set it up?
Sent from my Droid Incredible 2 HD
You download the google voice app and then go thru the setup and choose that you aren't using it for anything else except voicemail. Then you need to get on your PC (this is the easiest solution), and go to http://voice.google.com. On the top right corner of your screen, there should be a cogwheel. Click it then click Voice Settings. It should bring you to a setup screen and there should be a blue link that says Activate Voicemail. Click on that link and it should tell you what you need to dial in order to do conditional call-forwarding so that only your missed calls and ignored calls, all of which normally go to your normal voicemail, will go to your google voice voicemail.
As an additional tip, once you have this set up, still in the settings, click the Voicemail link next to Phones, and uncheck the box next to where it says "Email the message to:<insert gmail here>" or else you'll have a ****load of notifications.
Nevermind. I figured out I don't like the hassle involved. I tried all that, and it screwed up my texting through gv

Lol, yeah, I don't even use VVM or anything, not enough people call me for me to deal with it. I would rather just listen to the 1 voicemail I get a month lol

I'm really enjoying GV right now. I have an issue w/ reception here at my house since apparently incredible 2 phones are so horrible at reception, i've decided to get a custom number and I'm always on wifi here at my house, so that might fix the issue I'm having here.

What you mean? Like just opening the app? No. But because its ran on data. My messages come in slow fuse my service sucks here

Weird, it takes my app like a good 20 secs sometimes to load up, but my messages almost come in instantaneously. I did a force close and cache wipe and it seemed to help a little, but I'm not wanting to have to do that every time, yet on the other hand, my voicemails show up a while later and take even longer to transcribe.

You can set it up in the webpage to send the voicemails to your email.
Try uninstalling the app and reinstalling it.

I'll try sending my VMs to email. Hopefully that will speed it up some, but like I stated earlier, I get so few calls because everyone I talk to texts, that when I do get a VM, it's usually 1 a month or so, so I'm not too anxious for it, but I would like to have it working 100% lol.
Knipp, I want to send text via gv. Since I don't have unlimited texting, there are certain people I text with gv. So, it was forwarding my texts to my phone if I didn't read them after a few seconds.

Google Voice Issue

So I never had Google voice but when I flashed a new ics rom I needed a way to get my voicemail. Now every time someone calls me they get this message "Google subscriber is not accepting calls at this time" then my phone hangs up on them. I need to fix this this is very frustrating when I'm planning my wedding and every possible DJ, or florist, or salon can't reach me. Please help!

WiFi calling !!!

Ok I'm at my girls house and no service. Which ROMs can I use to use WiFi calling or send mms
Sent from my SGH-T989 using xda app-developers app
Touch wiz or stock 4.0.x based
Jedi kight 6 works great and the wifi calling starts quickly.
I'm on aokp. I love it but just not able to send messages or get my calls. It really sucks that I'm going to have to change it. I got one bar and I'm lucky to have that lol. It's like I'm in a dead zone :banghead:

Scratch that. It calls from a different number. I've used that app before. It's affective but I want people to know it's me calling. Guess I'm just stuck with going with a ROM that has WiFi calling.
Sent from my SGH-T989 using xda app-developers app
Any TMo touch wiz based ROM will work.
Following the various instructions around the web, I can't seem to set up SIP dialing and I think it's disabled by my provider (Telus SII X using stock Telus 4.0.3 from Kies). Can anyone verify that this is the case before I resort to modding my folks' T989D using a baked ROM? I need a setup that's rock solid and doesn't need flashing a new ROM-of-the-week or them pissing around with their phone (with me inevitably on the other line guiding them through it - I'm no expert myself). Thanks!
the vonage app is FREE and it calls from your number over WIFI or 4G data... you can also text from there too, for free, from your number...

Yeah, unfortunately, I concur. I also was planning for this to be a more unified client than it is. Instead of merging the hangouts and SMS threads it keeps them separate. I was expecting it to be like the iMessage client for iOS: Data message unless the recipient doesn't have the app or you have no data connection, SMS for the rest

Had the same problem. Once I installed all the other apps from the N5 from droid life the problem went away. May had something to do with the update of play services or launcher

Yeah, installed everything and it still crashes. Can't even get the new Google Now search to work, despite cycling languages as instructed. In a side note, the new keyboard is nice though.

Nope. Just tested this morning and MMS crashes it. Location seems fine for me though.
Come on folks, obviously the new Google apps are making use of the API's in 4.4 that aren't going to work properly on 4.3. This is the reason even something like Maps has different current versions floating around depending what you're running. There's going to be bugs just side loading this from a system image especially for a new app like hangouts that's now being deeply integrated into the system in 4.4.

I'm sure we're all quite aware of that. Thank you for pointing out blatantly obvious things.
No one here is saying "WTF Google why you no make teh hangoutz werk for mah Note before official release?! "
We're merely conversing, seeing if these problems are shared by all, or just some. So pump the brakes and cool your jets.
The simple fact it works
Flawlessly on my wife's Galaxy S3 and not my Note 3 makes me curious and eager to see if there are tweaks on our end that can nudge the software into a happy place.
That being said, constructive and helpful people who manage to find workarounds or anything helpful to get their MMS working without crashing the app, hop in and share!

I wonder what the problem really is because mms works perfectly fine on my note 2 with 4.2.1
I have updated the play services and hangouts ....won't work with this note 3 though

I got texting to work on a WiFi nexus 7.

But I was wondering if anyone with more experience in android could help.
I installed an xposed module that unlocks the "default SMS" options in settings and in other texting apps like hangouts. Now I used the cyanogenmod voice+ app and linked my google voice, then I went to hangouts and got it to import my existing texts and that worked.
Now this is where it gets weird and I need some help lol its pretty glitchy. I actually receive texts fine, but I was able to send one text perfectly and now I can't send anymore.
If anyone wants to work on this please go ahead
