Build 1.32 on Orange UK, Help unlocking! - Desire HD Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi there, i have read plenty about downgrading this phone but im stuck as to actually unlock this phone to work on my network 3 from the mentioned build version. I have been through quite a few pages and so far no help.
Can anyone help me please?

You do not need to downgrade if you have 1.32 based ROM. You can use my Radio S-OFF tool to SimUnlock your phone.

[INFO] Downgrade HBOOT 0.93 to 0.80

Hi All,
I just wanted to share this info from personal experience. I am using HTC Desire (AMOLED/ASIA Region). I updated OTA Froyo then decided i wanted to root my phone. Rooting requires 0.80 HBOOT so i need to downgrade mine from 0.93 since it got updated also during OTA update. I used teppic's tool (thanks very much for the help as well!) to downgrade my HBOOT from 0.93 to 0.83. Afterwards, i installed signed_RUU for Asia region and now my phone is back to HBOOT 0.80.
This is very helpful especially to those who wanted to bring their phones back to HTC for any repair/warranty concerns.
Hope this can help all my fellow noobs out there as it did to me! Now i think i can try rooting my phone!
thnx for your topic! found via Google and i really helped me!
i need my desire back to stock so i can send him in for reparation. Tried different RUU's but they all failed because the newest bootloader (0.93) this tool worked for me!
It worked for me. Salamat po kababayan
Well it works for me till i downgraded my hboot to 0.83 can u elaborate as to which ruu u installed from the asia region as i tried and it didnt downgrade my hboot
(i need 0.80 as unrevoked doesnt work for me some communication error )
Yes, it's worked perfectly.
Thanks so much (also to teppic74).

ENG S-off & RADIO S-off

I'm just confused... I'm new to Android and i was just wondering if ENG S-off is the same as Radio S-off... my phone is currently Rooted and have ENG S-off do i need to the One click radio S-off? -noob- here
I am with the same condition as you and asked a similar question here and here is the answer :

Yes that is right, you need to use this tool (or script methods in forum) if you want to flash using kernel update utility.

So for Kernel flashing or similar issues, yes we need extra ENG S-Off which I would recommed you to use the tool on the link above If you are a newbie like me.

I think you meant to say we need the extra radio s-off, not eng s-off. Just to avoid any confusion.
I´ve got the same problem. I don´t realy know the difference between ENG S-Off and SHIP S-Off.
I have have ROOT and ENG S-Off, but after I run Easy-RADIO-S-Off everythimg is the same like before.
Is there maybe another way to get Radio-S-Off?
For my ENG S-Off, I´ve made a step by step way with the terminal Emulator.
I need your Help
If you do Radio S-OFF on top of ENG S-OFF, nothing else is supposed to change but bootloader>system info CID. If you did full Radio S-OFF, which contains SuperCID and SimUnlock, the CID should be 11111111.
The differences of both S-OFFs:
- Radio S-OFF is more permanent, safer
- ENG S-OFF allows to use fastboot commands, such as fastboot flash radio
- Radio S-OFF (with SuperCID) allows downgrading from anything, it disables device version checking. If HTC has "banned" a certain downgrade from one version to the other, Radio S-OFF allows it.
@jkoljo
thx for your reply
I still have root and ENG S-Off. How can I get Radio S-Off and SuperCID too?
I´ve searched in the forum up and down. It seems that the Easy-Radio-S-Off Tool doesn´t work... ? Do you have another way for me?
Didn't the CID change (bootloader system info)? Because nothing else is supposed to change in the bootloader after you run the tool. Check Radio S-OFF tool troubleshooting. There is also a manual method posted by Apache, which uses older unlock code version than my tool.

Hi SEW580,
I had the same problem, apeared to be the wrong option/choice I made when I used te tool. you have to use the FIRST option ("Radio S-OFF, Super-CID an Sim Unlock"), this worked for me.
Let me know if it also did for you...

I would 100% get radio s-off. That way if Htc screw you over with an update which breaks root you aren't stranded.

The Tool is great, but it doesn´t work at mine. I tryed every option from first to last. I´ve got SU, Root and ENG S-OFF. I did everything whats needed. I run the Tool, it asked for permission, I confirm, it finished succesful, but nothing changes - no Radio S-Off or SuperCID :-(
Please try the 2.2 version, it tells you what went wrong.
By the way if you have a new radio in your phone, you have to downgrade first before running the tool.

[Q] Way to rebrand my Phone

Hello out there,
i wanna sell my DHD. So, just in case I can't bring it back to the seller (T-Mobile Germany, device was branded by T-Mobile, too), I want to rebrand it, maybe with a stock rom and unroot it + S-ON.
Is there any way to do this?
Thanks for your help
flash unbranded RUU, search development thread for appropriate file.
RUU_Ace_HTC_WWE_1.72.405.3_R2_Radio_12.28e.60.140f_26.04.02.17_M2_SF_release_163262_signed
And then
RUU_Ace_TMO_DE_1.39.111.1_Radio_12.28b.60.140e_26. 03.02.26_M
? So, S-OFF and root are perm gone after these steps?

Why unbranded when he wants to rebrand his phone?
@DonPanda
Here is a T-Mobile Germany RUU
You will also have to do Radio S-ON and brand CID.
I did it like this:
- Installed RUU (WWE 1.32 though as I didn't have a branded phone)
- Rooted with Visionary
- Did Radio S-ON and stock CID with jkoljo's tool
- Unrooted with Visionary and uninstalled it.
After this it was completely stock again.
I'm not sure if you can do Radio S-ON and stock CID first, and then install RUU because this way you wouldn't need to root it.
Hm, i used the TMO_DE_1.39, cause the flash step with WWE file failed.
How ever, seems to work now and flashing the T-Mobile version.
Thanks for now

[Q] desire hd. goldcarded, rooted, installed new rom cant unlock!

hi people, i have a vodafone branded htc desire hd, however i followed all instructions managed to goldcard, downgrade from 2.5 something to 1.32, i temprooted, rooted and then installed eng off and s-off. finally i installed revolution hd, however my phone is still locked to vodafone! all the root was correct, and in the bootloader says ACE PVT ENG S-OFF and also CID is 11111111.
ive searched everywhere and still cannot find an answer. please help me, many thanks in advance
Rooting your device (even flashing a custom rom) does not unlock it.
Okay, I was under the impression that rooting and s-off and eng-off would unlock the phone, can you please give guidance on how to do this I've searched everywhere, many thanks

To sim unlock your device, you need the unlock code. Either get it from your service provider (Free but they hardly give it out) or get it from some website (paid but usually get it quickly. Just make sure it's a trusted site).
Okay I will look into it, when I used the s-off easy tool, one of the options was sim unlock? Thanks for getting back to me anyway

yes i selected the top option which was radio s-off, supercid and simunlock. i thought that would of unlocked the phone but im not too sure now?
run the radio off tool again ...ofcourse it unlocks the phone no need for any codes and no need to pay it all can be done free when you follow the steps as i did mine not long ago

ok so you haven't found a tutorial....it goes without thinking that because there is NO WAY currently to s-off
So then, is there any way to put a european ruu to an asian without S-off?
as of the moment, there is no way to s-off the One V.
