I have a Dopod 838pro/Hermes,TYTN. It is working great with CRC's r13.1-pre7 Rom. I'm in Australia and am with 3.
My Radio Version is 1.47.30.10.
Should I upgarde to the a new radio version (1.50)?
If so, how?
Also, will i lose all the programs I have loaded onto it since upgrading my rom?

Hi, I have 1.11 but have seen talk of 1.12, but only been able to find it for non-universal devices. Can I use the radio form a non universal 1.12 or alternatively where can I find the latest Universal radio?
I recently put the new Vodafone ROM on the device and notice that it rolled the Win CE version back! Compared to the previous 02 version!

Up right now only had verison 1.11.00 never hear had 1.12.00 radio rom,if you used others device's radio rom flush into Universal that will not be used., 1.11.00 radio rom you can find in Dopod rom.

I now have a 1.11 radio, latest Vodafone UK Ext Rom 1.30.194WWE (need it to make mms etc work seamlessly - the only way I have found, manual settings not doing the job on top of an O2 build) and I have taken the ROM from the latest 02 release, version 1.30.107WWE
Q is, before I settle with this 'forever', is that the latest/best ROM? Or is there a better version/later version than .107? If so where please.
Also any sign of a 1.12 radio yet/anyone have a copy? I keep hearing of it....
Finally anyone got a backup that works and will restore my setup even if I upgrade ROM (like the old activsync backup used to)?

extract it through winrar and run the upgrade file inside instead of running it directly to avoid upgrading your bootloader to 1.01.

The second link is someone confirming that tmobile UK will be doing a general release on the 19th June. One minor number lower for ROM and ExtROM than the dutch versions but that might just be a country/operator thing and not have any real bearing on what's actually in the ROM.
I have an O2 XDA Exec - one of the first few to be shipped and I am hoping to unlock it and upgrade the ROMs. I am running ROM version 1.13.48WWE (Ext ROM version 1.13.139) and radio version 1.04.02
First, what kind of ROM should I go for? What is the advantage of AKU over O2 ROM?
Second, what order should I do the upgrade in? SimLock then NewRom or other way round?

The first one is WM5 and the second is the WM6. Get a copy of the WM5 in case you should need to revert back to the original installed OS of the hermes. You can use the WM6 version, it's been exceptionally stable. I keep a copy of the WM5 on hand in case I should need it for emergencies like returning the phone under warranty.
being that they are offering WM6 officially now, you can have that on your phone and still receive warranty service... however, it has to be a Cingular branded OEM version of the rom... not a cooked one.. hence the need to keep an OEM version of the rom for those purposes... Be it WM5 or WM6 really doesn't matter that much anymore...

so the rom ver and date is the same of the upgrade.
but... this upgrade will update my radio and protocol?
