How to disable all the HTC green - HTC Excalibur

- run SDA aplication unlock
- copie HTCUnlockInstaller to your phone and open it
- run HTCUnlockinstaller from your start menu (this tool allow you to make changes and overwrite files in the
registry)
- copie the 4 files from commanager to windows and overwrite the other files
(now your commanager will turn blue)
- change the regkey: hklm\software\microsoft\shell\rai\msbranding values bannerimage value name in "none"
- change the regkey: hklm\software\microsoft\shell\rai\mscdial values bannerimage value name in "none"
- copie HTC_CallProgressBkg_320x186 to windows and overwrite file
restart your phone and all the HTC green is gone ....

This **** is sweet, i have this with a black gradient theme and the black and blue is awesome. Thanks alot man!

You're a god !! thanks man .. I'm loving the HTC German ROM with CommMgr blue !

Sorry for the noob question, but what is "SDA aplication unlock?" Why would I need to run this on the HTC S620? What does the HTCUnlockinstaller actually do?
[EDIT]
Never mind. I figured it out.
[/EDIT]

Thanks!!! My Dash is now complete, that hideous green is gone FYI -- for anyone that runs into a write-error when copying from your PC to the device Windows directory: I found that when I copied the files somewhere else on the device, and then copied them to the Windows directory it worked -- couldn't copy from my PC to the Windows directory without a write-error.

When you use this tools you can change and overwrite easely things in the registry.

Thanks. Can you undo what the unlocker tool does? I don't want my smartphone to be completely wide open for any EXE that isn't digitally signed to have the ability to execute, or change settings it shouldn't have the ability to.

Well... then... hope you like green

What is interesting is I copied CommManager.exe, CommManagerRes.dll and CommManager.exe.0409.mui to my storage card under a new folder called Temp. The app ran without problems. Now, when I go into the Start menu, and select CommManager, the one I copied over is what starts. I end the task with Celetask, and I am still able to open the hacked version.
Keep in mind that I did *not* do anything but copy the contents of "HTC S-620 bleu.zip" to a new folder on my HTC S620. I did not run or install SDA Unlock, nor HTCUnlockInstaller.
Wierd. Oh well.

You can do everything without having to run the unlocking tool. Just change these two files below. Take any pics or colors you want and rename them.
HTC_BrandingBrickImg_320x27.bmp
HTC_CallProgressBkg_320x186.bmp

Thanks - this worked perfectly. I also like the fact that now I know what files I need to replace for different home screen profiles right now ... I'm currently using a black profile and it was easy to switch out the call screen background for a black one.

I don't understand ... have followed all the instructions but still get the permission error.

so, just to clairify, you have run BOTH unlockers and it still wont go?

This is the second time jhow99 you have really helped me. The only thing I did not like about the new HTC wm6 ROM was the green comm manager screen, thanks to you I now have the blue comm manager screen on my Dashes. All of your tools here in this thread works like a charm, again thanks a million......!

For QVGA WQVGA:
Install "Icone demarrer.cab" it's just 2registry key. (thank to my friend Shakass)
Then put in "/Windows"the file named "shellres.96.dll.****.mui"
**** is the localization code of your ppc's rom (040C for France and 0409 for US/UK)
The files you'll find in the folder are in 040C so change them if you're not french.
And Soft reset
This operation will replace too your wait cursor by the wait cursor vista by Marshall if you want to keep your cursor follow the How-to instructions to extract and modify your shellres.96.dll file.
If you want to put your original system just erase your shellres.96.dll.****.mui file and soft reset.
The folder QVGA-WQVGA contains all the Start icons
French Code 040C

Here is some shellres.dll.040C.mui modified: Démarrer, Start, HTC, SFR, Vide(empty)
Change the country code if necessary.
If you like it, you can Donate to XDA .
For VGA:
Same manipulation just the name of the file is "shellres.192.dll.****.mui"
The folder VGA contains only the "Blue windows" and "Office" Start icons for the moment if VGA's user wants some other, request it
"Points" icon added.

Thanks. I will try it in a bit.
How-To
If you want to create your own icon,
For QVGA WQVGA
Create an icon in 21x18 then save as .ico file (32bits)
Take one of the "shellres.96.dll.****.mui" file
Or if you want to keep your own Wait cursor:
Copy to your SD card then to your PC the file named "shellres.96.dll"
Open it in Reshacker and go to "Icon group/4609
Clic on Action/Replace Icon/Open new file
Insert your new icon, clic replace.
Save your modified file takes the name of the old "shellres.96.dll.****.mui" and the old takes the name of "shellres.96.dll.****.mui".
If you have used your own "shellres.96.dll" file rename it as "shellres.96.dll.****.mui"
Open Mssigner, search your shellres file, clic Start sign Process
a window appear "Process finished!" then go where is your shellres file, a text file has been create
Open it, if there is wrote "Warning: This file is signed, but not timestamped,Succeeded" that prouved all is okay
After you know the suit.
For VGA
Same things just the size of the icon must be 41x36 and the name must be "shellres.192.dll.****.mui"
What is my Country Number?
Execute the Mortscript which is in the folder "ShellresNameHelper" (with Mortscript) Big Thank to mr_deimos for this script.
All the Softs are in the Tools folder
If you need some ideas here is a french site with lot of PNG image
http://www.customxp.net/PngFactory/
Write in the search bar what you want.
When you do a start icon file
Post the info (VGA QVGA; US FR)
And the PNG file or a screenshot
Enjoy!!!
Cab Version of the Certificates
Here is a Cab Version of the certificates for those who are not comfortable with Registry Editor. This worked perfect for me.
Thanks for the great skins.
works great on my tilt thanks a lot
Once I install the cab, what do I do? And how do you go about changing among the various icons? Sorry for the rookie questions.
Choose an icôn and go in the folder which has the same name, then put the shellres file you'll find in windows. If you aren't french change the "040C" by your localization code (0409 for US)
hey amigo great post ( pub AM first Post please lol)
Do I have to put the icon itself under "Windows" as well or do I leave that in the folder? And ho do you get the default flag back if you don't like a particular icon?
^No you have to add the icon with Reshacker in your shellres file found in the /Windows folder.
Thanks alot for these clear instructions. Will give it a try when I have the time.

did u have this issue with beta 2.5 as well??
if not den use that dll and and the stuff u changed. make sure bmp are of the matching format as the originals.......fixed my prob.....
can this be used as a plugin for the today screen? or must i install something else before using this?
Little Problem with this skinning file
A noob Question...
After I, at last successfully installed, the Cab and the phcanOverbmp.dll, phcanImages.dll which was hard enough.... because TC wouldn't let me just unzip it there or over write the dll's
My taskbar (AnX1 tsowentaskbar3v1.4 SE vB1.3.cab) didn't work any more... just showed the normal winmo taskbar.... and after I reinstalled the tsowentaskbar the screen for entering the pin (enter) was green again... any chance to solve that , because I really love the taskbar but really hate the green...

Yeah the DLL contains the images for the battery as well, but I haven't changed them. And when exploring the DLL after my changes, the battery images seem fine. So I dunno, DLLs are tricky. Will try recompiling.

All you need is itje's Touch-IT v7.1 installed. Pretty sure it works fine with 7.0 as well, but wouldn't go further back than that as manila filenames change between builds.
Anyhow, you simply install this cab and replace/overwrite the DLL files provided with the ones in the Windows directory. If you wanna go back to green, you simply uninstall the cab and rename/remove the DLL files from Windows directory and soft-reset.

Most likely AnX1 tsowentaskbar3v1.4 SE vB1.3 alters the same DLL files as I have in this cab. If you can live with a green 'ENTER' button at PIN screen, you can simply not use my edited phcanOverBmp.dll, and taskbar should work fine. Other than that we'd have to create a merge of the two DLLs to get both to work simultaneously. This is not complicated, but I'd like to leave it for after Blue Final version is done.
No problem at all.... I'll live with it since I can't change it myself... noob!!!
Not to say I didn't try... unfortunately the results where not soo nice

T Mobile Theme
Hi again, hope I'm not off thread here but I was wondering if you could provide me with a solution or point me in the right direction. I have your T Mobile v2 theme installed on my device & it works a treat for me. Installed the backgrounds & tried various others & themes from different threads but in each case the landscape background does not render correctly, it ends up with a white line 1 or 2 pixels wide on right hand side of screen. I know this was raised on Itjes v7.1 thread but unfortunately I have yet to find a solution. I am using Itjes v7.1 ROM & have your T Mobile bgs & theme v2 installed but it would be great if I could get rid of that white line. It's not the end of the world & I can live with it but with your landscape bg fixed & Itjes ROM it would be just perfect for me. Once again I apologise if I am off thread but hope you can provide a solution. THX in advance.

[TUTORIAL]°°Create High Quality default weather Wallpaper in HTC Sense 2.5.191xxx°°

"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
I have found the solution to make High Quality wallpaper in 2.5.191xxx HTC Sense!
This solution let you have your own HQ wallpaper as default wallpaper and weather animation at the same time.
First you need a wallpaper with résolution 480x768(1),if you don't have it then resize HD wallpaper 480x800 into 480x768.
you need also the 2 manila files 4bfcbbee_manila(512x512 png file) & 54612042_manila (512x256 png file).
create new file with size 512x515(3) and very important with resolution"95,987"pixels!!!
Take your wallpaper(480x768) and from the upper side cut it in 480x515 and paste image in the new file you have made before on the left side, you will have empty area on the right side, then resize the file into 512x512.
Ok first image file is ready to replace in 4bfcbbee_manila file(with m9editor),be shure to unckeck "read only" in properties of the manila file first or you can't replace the image file in it,when the image file is replaced with m9editor then recheck "read only" before you copie it back in your windows folder!
Now the second file, follow the same steps as for the first file but cut your wallpaper from the bottom into size 480x256.
create new file with size 512x256(2) and very important with resolution"95,987"pixels!!!
Take your wallpaper(480x768) and from the bottom side cut it in 480x256 and paste image in the new file you have made before(512x256) on the left side too then it will look like this:
Ok second image file is ready to replace in 54612042_manila file(with m9editor),be shure to unckeck "read only" in properties of the manila file first or you can't replace the image file in it,when the image file is replaced with m9editor then recheck "read only" before you copie it back in your windows
folder!
Now copy both manila files you have create into windows folder of the HD,be shure to choose picture wallpaper first in menu on today screen.
When you have copyed both files into windows reset your device first!
When the device as restart then choose weather wallpaper and enjoy HQ wallpaper as default wallpaper
Here you have a screenshot with the result,i use Max Theme ultimate but its working without too.
I have work a long time on it to find this solution!
Im very sorry for my poor english,i hope its clear with this little tutorial and some pictures
Maybe we can use this to make new HDWALL for the 2.5 sense?
Also cookers can use it maybe?
Don't forget to say thanks if this is usefull to you
Tips & Trics
1.How to easy have the exact size to cut your wallpaper on the right position:
Thanks to kilzone who as given an easy solution!
there is an easier way to do this. When you select the marquee tool you notice (in the options bar) the option 'Style' which is probably set to 'Normal'. If you set this to 'Fixed Size' and type in 512x256 you have the exact size in one image (This is the correct way of making a perfectly sized marquee area.)
When i try to copy the manila files to my windows folder it says i dont have permission to do this. The files are read only and when i try to change the attribute, nothing changes. Any ideas?

I mean the files on the windows mobile device. I cannot overwrite them prolly because they are read-only, but when i change their attributes they are still read-only.

Actually you can - even for 2.5.192xxx but you have to install grzegorz10_Background4all_Tabs-Manila_1920.CAB first, then select the manila 2.5 profile in the hdwalls settings. Then you have to install the cab and select weather wallpaper. Unfortunately for now i cant get it to work 100% correctly - i get black stripe on the right side of the screen - its like the size is not entirely correct, but i have the same problem using your method so it may be something related to the rom im using(or the all tabs background cab im using) or something like that - i have to check some stuff and figure this out.
edit: i measured the black bar on the right side of the screen and its width is exactly 29px
i think not 480X768

[cab] Android style lockscreen skin HVGA

I have ported the lockscreen to HDmini.
To revert back just uninstall it.
[ ! ] Softreset is required after install or uninstall.
The lockscreen shows one appointment for current day and missed sms/mails/calls are indicated with number of events on orange lock.

It is the skin to standard WM 6.5 lockscreen thus it requires CHome, so if you have a custom rom with CHome removed this cab will not work.
If someone wants to make any adjustments, there is \Windows\LS_LockScene_320x480.cpr file that is easy to edit.
My original build:

Thanks to _MoHaMaD_ and sam2007 for the alternative build

Does this lockscreen also support the standard Windows password screen after unlocking?

I think it should.
You could try to activate standard lock without installing that AndroidLock cab with this registry value:
"HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Shell\LockScreen\Enable"="1" (softreset to apply)
(to get back HTCLockScreen just set:
"HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Shell\LockScreen\Enable"="2"
)
I've got few reports that cab does not work, probably I'm not a skilled cab maker yet.
So I put here source files from the cab
View attachment AndroidLock.zip
Unzip all files to \Windows\ and apply AndroidLock.reg to set android skin manually.

I mean do not try to import a .reg file, just open registry with resco explorer, go to
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Shell\LockScreen\
and set there
Enable= "1"
This lockscreen works on my mini since I've posted it in October, no any problem.

This is very good!
You have enabled WM6.5 lockscreen that could be updated to android locksreen.
To install android lockscreen manually you have to unzip AndroidLock.zip files and then copy them to \Windows with overwriting existing files.
Then set this keys in the registry,
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Shell\LockScreen\Notifications]
"SliderNotif"="\\Windows\\AndroidLock\\lock_notif_num.png"
"Slider"="\\Windows\\AndroidLock\\lock.png"
Softreset is required to see any changes.

after this work... the slider change but it,s not android unlock
i pictuerd it to show u
am i wrong?
Hm...
It looks like LS_LockScene_320x480.cpr in your phone is not replaced by new one from anroidlock.
I'm not sure what is going wrong, try to unzip to \Windows this file: View attachment LS_LockScene_320x480.zip

MoHaMaD, don't worry, if some of files are missed, Windows just reverts to WM6.1 simple locksreen.
Most probably you haven't copied all the files needed.
Lets check, these are files you need:
\Windows\LS_LockScene_320x480.cpr [ok]
\Windows\Clockopia.ttf [?] - check if you copied it and others marked [?]
\Windows\AndroidLock\LOCK.PNG [ok] - I see it on your previous screenshot
\Windows\AndroidLock\lock_notif_num.png [?]
\Windows\AndroidLock\SLIDER.PNG [?]
\Windows\AndroidLock\calendar_icon.png [?]
\Windows\AndroidLock\point_green.png [?]
\Windows\AndroidLock\slider_press.png [?]

Well, please try another version of LS_LockScene_320x480.cpr, I have just copied it from my phone, where it works perfectly.

If it won't work too, I could not imagine what else to try.

Can you actually select your own backgroud image for the Modern start screen? If so i will give this a try tonight and let you know if there are any issues. Thanks for your work on this i am not the biggest fan of the preset backgrounds.
With a program it's very difficult, because there is a system file to edit. I'll give a try
I think too that the default backgrounds are bad
Doesnt work. Started with Admin rights, I can change the accent color but not the background
Build 9200 RTM
@AsakuraVN Have you installed a LP?
@All I find a solution to edit a startscreen background with custom background. After some test, developing and more test, maybe i can bubblish the new version with this function.

If it works then I crown you a legend
There are some problems with imageres file.
I have do this manually (the problems are the image format, depth and color and maybe Resource hacker...)
Here there's a screenshot http://dl.dropbox.com/u/54377272/screen.png

You mean a language pack? Then no, Im using a clean install of RTM. Might try again later
Looking forward to your new version with custom background though xD
The 2.0 version is almost finished. I need some tester before publish, because the editing of imageres.dll wasn't much stable (though the problems was resolved). One never know
Please contact me with a MP to test the application.
Thanks and sorry for the bad english
Thanks! I can't wait to try it out - V2 that is.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda premium
ModernBack changer was update to 2.0 introducins new graphics, small functions and customizable background with a custom photo.
Need feedback (good or bad )
Tried this out of curiosity, but the start background image never changes, even though it says it should?

Some users can't change their background or accent color or twice with this tool...
I'm trying to find a solution (this problem came from 1.0 version...)
What version of Windows 8 have you tried? Have you got a language pack installed or your windows 8 is in another language than en-US?
Have you started it as administrator or have you restarted your pc and re-tried to edit background? Is your PC activated?
Sorry for a lot of question, but i have no idea of this problem...

Im running RTM Pro x64. No laguage packs installed Language/Region is English-Australia.
I tried running as administrator. Tried reboot too.
PC is not yet activated.
I'm getting this

ERROR in
action number 1
of Other Event: User Defined 0
for object sceltaimmagine:
Error in code at line 5:
background_xscale[0]=room_width/background_width[0]
^
at position 34: Division by 0.

Also resource hacker displays about 4 error massages one after the other .
Right after I select a image.
Running windows pro 32bit.

Maybe the image selected was heavy and Irfanview (the tool included thatconvert images) didn't convert the image on-time. I will incrase the image converting time.
Working on ModernBack changer 2.5
New 2.5 version aviable for download!
Thanks for the new version, everything seems to go well (no errors) but I can't seem to see any change's after I reselect the modified theme.
What am I doing wrong?

Thy this:
select a default theme and open the start-screen
return to desktop
select the custom theme and re-open start-screen
If this don't apply the custom background, look to \windows\system32 folder if "imageres.backup" is present
Maybe there are problems with permission of rename imageres.dll.
