I was hoping to dust off my old Note 10.1 to use as a smart home control device, with voice activated Google Assistant (ok Google), but I can't seem to get the tablet to hear me.
I'm running a version of LOS 14.1 (7.1.2), and have installed the Google app, Assistant, Home, and the companion app for Nova launcher. All settings appear to be on, but Google won't hear me either inside or outside of the Google app.
Has anyone managed to get this working on Android 7? Should I be looking at upgrading to an Android 10 rom? Are there any stable options available?
Yes, there are also android 11 rom

I've been trying the Maps app, and zooming in and out seems to be really buggy (it stutters all the time), however, on Google Earth it works fine. I used the show touches option in Settings and the touchscreen seems to be doing fine. Any ideas?
P.S Also, I live in Argentina, and for some reason, offline maps are not available here (I had another tablet a year ago, and I could get them without any problem).
I'm looking at Maps and you are right, not as smooth as Google Earth (on it's highest quality). I've seen this before in Google maps on my Note II running a 4.3 ROM so it's not unique to the N7. A reboot usually fixes it, and did for me just now. But it's still no as smooth as seamless as Google Earth.
Hello everyone, I'm new. Forgive my English.
This morning I'm going to turn on the phone and Moto 360, and noted that the notification is vanished from the drop-down menu that shows me they are connected or not to the Moto 360. To find out, now I'm forced to open Android Wear.
Moto 360 firm: 5.0.2
Android Wear: last in playstore
Moto Connect: same android wear
Note 4 N910U firm.....4.4.4 -.-
Anyone can help me please? Thanks!
I have exactly the same problem since today morning. I use Sony Z3 running lollipop.

Update: it looks like this is by design by latest Google play services update to version 7.3.
What your seeing is the new results of Google Play services being updated to 7.3.29 I believe. With this new update, if your Android Wear Connected Devices are connected and working fine, the notification auto hides itself. It is though suppose to pop back up when there is a problem between sync and devices but I have not seen it do that.
With the older Google Play Services such as 7.0.99 the notification was always there with no way of hiding it or turning it off.
The new Google Play Services was suppose to prepare phones to be able to work with the new features coming to Android Wear and firmware updates to the moto 360 and other smart watches.
Also there was a bug in the older Google Play Services keeping it always on and a connection always running due to it trying itself to look for OTA's through Google Servers I assume for GPE editions of phones and watches. I think now from watching over the new version on my Verizon Note 3 that it is now fixed and is the last thing always running in the battery rundown list. Before the update and with the older version it was the first in the list for draining battery on Lollipop!
Just as an update to my earlier post, the newer newest android wear is up live on the Google Play store. It has the sync to cloud option so that you can use WiFi mode on smart watch.
Only issue now is we still are waiting for new firmware to enable it on the Moto 360.
Thanks for the answers.
Wait for the new version then, as to me it is not yet appeared.
Thanks for the help!
Well, on my Z3 the notification does not appeared when watch was disconnected.
It was suggested I come over here and see what's going on. I've got a 5t with Oxygen.
I've never been able to get Android Auto to load, once. It always says "Something went wrong - Google Play services doesn't' seem to be working right now."
I can't Force Stop the Google Play services, or deactivate it. I've cleared my cache. I don't have a Android Device Management App installed either.
I enrolled and updated to the Google Play services Beta, but haven't still can't force stop it either.
Where do I go from here?
I don't know about this issue.
But I can say I use Android auto daily in my car and have no issues.
I have a Volkswagen caddy 2017 and use ob3
I sideloaded the app because it is not officially released in my country. I use version 3.0.
@dashbarron,
I have the exact same problem . I've also gone the play services beta route with no joy. I've tried literally every possible solution I've come across on the web, still no joy. I can't get past this.
Did you ever get AA to work? How?
Thanks!

I don't know if you have used Android auto before, so maybe you really like it and my advise maybe of no use to you. But while it is good to use, I soon reverted back to using split screen, top half for nav and bottom half to easily switch between music or radio or whatever else you want, even set up a YouTube video before you get going if it's something that doesn't require your focus on it, with gestures it's safer than messing around with the complicated controls in my car! And I have the plug in version of Android auto built into the car, I literally only plug it in when I have my daughter's on board so they can call out ok Google for whatever tune they want on. Anyway that's how I roll when driving and I'm driving all day everyday, hope maybe I saved u some time getting it working
Hello,
I've a one Plus 5t (rooted) under an android version 8.1.0.
Because I dislike Chrome, I deactivated it as I usually do, after the last rom update (OPST O2 open 8).
Since this day, when Chrome is deactivated applications like waze or map.me crash at start.
when I activate Chrome again applications work again.
Do you have any explanation to this?
Thanks,
Damien

Hey Folks,
Have a MatePad Pro 10.8 that had GMS and app installed and running via Googleifier and over the past few days the Google Core apps have all stopped running for me.
I have the device ID registered on the uncertified devices page and still no joy.
Nothing has changed with my setup, so I'm assuming that Google are enforcing their license and the US sanctions?
Is there any current way to avoid these restrictions?
Google Apps is working just fine for me on Matepad Pro.

It was working fine for me too from November and my Googleifier effort up until the 31/5.
Play store had stopped working earlier in May, but since Sunday, Chrome is closing on launch with an uncertified message too.
I'll take some time later this week to roll back the apps to earlier versions and see if that changes things.
Thanks for the input.
