Just got my new LG Wing today - charged it fully, then started to fix my apps, etc etc - put in my SD-card, and my SIM-card-- The phone is factory brand new, ulocked and is supposed to work in every country. --- all contacts appear, but i cant recieve calls or call out at all - please help

I'm searching after a possibility to lock my HD at startup, so if it will be stolen, no one can use the HD. Is there a way/prog?
The automatic lock after a time is not enough for me.

Well its not exactly what you wanted but this software should solve the problem with security of your phone http://www.just-per4mance.com/ you just register your phone number into the software and when somen changes the sim card it automaticly sends you an SMS from that number and with some SMS codes that you send you can delete all contacts, SD Card or memory, you can trace the phone via GPS or you can get all the contacts of the user. And when you install it you wont be able to find it in programs or anywhere so nobody knows that youve got it, or you can easily go to police and lock the IMEI of your phone and its done. I hope this helped you a bit. Btw the final version of this software should be ready in 3weeks but the last release works just fine I tried it.
yesterday morning my SMS stopped working. i was able to receive, but not send any SMS. notification of send stopped popping up and MMS worked just fine. SMS service center number was right. all other data services..email, internet, gps...worked fine. so i spent over an hour on the phone with ATT customer service and technical support..going through their hideous routine by the book (obviously) questions and attempts to fix the issue....reboot the phone, take out the battery and reboot, check if any water damage is on the phone, take out and put back the sim...yada yada.
they figured it was a bad phone and they eventually offered me an early upgrade option since i can upgrade on the 18th of June. and i was (sadly) considering the motorola backflip..since it had android with a skinned UI on it. but LUCKILY i decided..screw it...i'll attempt a hard reset and set ALL my freakin settings up again..luckily some programs offered to import settings i had previously exported onto my memory card. and now all is fine..SMS is back in full capacity.
i love ATT and the customer service was great. they called me back a few times on some of their methods to attempt, including possibly a bad sim or phone hardware issue. loved that they followed up with me to make sure things were working or not.
but i guess if all else fails...HARD RESET the lil bastard

I had the same thing happen yesterday, must have been the sytem, I soft-reset my phone and sent them from my draft folder ! That sucks you went through all that and hard reset !
Had the long awaited message pop up on my HD7 and Zune last night about the new update.
Proceeded to update on Zune then had an error message come up saying not enough space on my C drive on PC, needed MB but cleared 6GB. Restarted phone & PC but wouldn't continue.
Downloaded a fresh copy of Zune to another PC thats never had it. Ran it, found the update then Zune wanted to update itself after only downloading a new copy minutes ago.
Fine, started the update - 10 steps.
Got stuck on step 6 (i think, was phone reboot) and had message on phone saying connect to PC but was already connected.
OK, unplugged phone and started the whole process again. I have used around MB of space on phone so backup took some time.
Worked well through all steps, about 1+ hour.
Restarted phone, looked OK briefly but was very VERY slow and apps wouldn't open. Ages to go from one screen to another.
Got really frustrated as tiles weren't working either. Total [email protected] up.
Tried soft resets, no joy.
2am in the morning and need phone for work the next day.
SIM & battery out, no good.
Then, I noticed it had changed the time / date to 1980 (all my contacts / emails / content was all intact after update and didn't need to restore from backup).
Changed date manually to todays date and autodate didn't work.
Restarted phone and hey presto, all works fine now.
- Cut & Paste OK.
- Haven't noticed any speed improvements
- Feature on calendar - click on appointment and there is a button called LATE. Give you the option to SMS / Email organiser or attendees if you are running late. Nice touch.
- Changes in wi-fi

Yeah, I had that weird time and date problem, it seemed to push my date a week forward and set the time completely wrong. I also had to set these manually to fix it. Not sure why this happened but now some of my texts are out of order after sending and receiving a few message before noticing the wrong date, really annoying. But it is only a small problem so I suppose its not too bad.
I had the same issue when I applied the update via the Hungarian PPTP thing. Today I tried to do a rollback which sadly ****ed up my entire device. So I had to flash a stock ROM. After that was completed, I immediately recieved the update messages for february and march. Date worked fine and even the gradient issue was gone.

I got my Gingerbread update last night, 2.3.3, bringing the HTC software version to 2.42.405.2 - however every few seconds I get a pop-up saying that android.process.acore has stopped. As I understand it from the (admittedly small) bit of research I've done, this contains the contacts database - and it crashing means I can't use the phone, people or messaging apps, so my phone right now is a glorified browser and twitter client, with a camera and an annoying popup every few seconds.
I've contacted HTC support but I don't hold my breath for anything more useful than a hard reset - if they tell me to do this then I may as well get a new phone (I was planning to anyway, so may just bring that plan forward).
Some solutions I've read involve removing the account that the contacts database is associated with, but I keep my contacts on the phone, and though I have a Google account set up, it won't sync my contacts anymore because of this problem (I know this because a friend changed her number the other day and when I view the contacts on gmail, it still says her old number, which I deleted. If I try to remove the google account, the phone tells me it's needed and I would need to factory reset my phone to do so.
I am NOT prepared to factory reset my phone to fix this issue - the same way I would not be prepared to format my harddrive to fix most issues. I'm going to try and backup my contacts to my pc in the meantime, but is there anyone out there who can help me?
I just updated to the newest lolipop software on my M8.
when my phone is locked in dock modus or whatever, i cant see any New Messages, e-mails or notifactions on the top left side anymore?
Can someone please help me what i can do about it?
It seems like i need to Lock up the phone so i can see that I have recived a Message.. very anoying..
