HI . I'm looking for a stable rom with a good battery drain and that has usable Google pay. can anyone advise me?
Actually I've found lineageos 18.1 to have the most stable battery drain among the top 4-5 Roms I've used. The system has tiny bits of bugs which are not inconvenient except for the screen not turning on sometimes. This can be solved by not using the double tap to wake feature.
Google pay should work fine as long as you keep google services up to date.

I don't think the rom is your problem.
I was on the last couple of RR builds and my phone didin't even switch off at 10 %
Now I am again on blisppop and this one is at 18% at the moment and all works.
Both are stable as a daily driver.
They are not flawless but usable without to much problems that interfere with daily routine

If it's switching off at 50% I think it could be battery related as nobody is reporting this problem.
The torch is indeed a bug but a minor one but like I said they are not flawless but usable without to much problems that interfere with daily routine.
I think battery life is all the same on RR and blisppop
I get around according GSam 33h 46m battery life and screen on 2h 48m on blisspop measured for a week
update . . . .
plz tell me what is the best rom right now In terms of battery charge now im using blisspop but Battery charge decreases quickly so if im install " monster kernel " it will be better ? or tell me name of another rom ?

Hey guys and gals, so I got myself a tab pro 10.1 a little while ago, I flashed the latest lineage from their website, its pretty dam unstable and even slow, soft reboots all the time and performance can go from fine to ass in seconds out of nowhere,
I've seen quite a few ROMs around but truth be told I couldn't be bothered to keep wiping my tablet and trying them all, I am just after the most stable ROM with the best performance (more stability than performance) what can you suggest? Or is lineage the best there is? Happy to go to a lower version like 6.0 or 5.0 if needed for more stability
Any advice is appreciated,
Thanks guys !!
I have gone through many MANY ROMs on this device.
I have used for the past year or so this ROM:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...t/7-1-xsm-t520-liquiddeathos-n2awifi-t3577449
Development is stopped, but everything (that I used) works just fine, and it is so smooth...
Plus I love the pull up app drawer (like on pixel phones), Google Assistant is built in on long home button press etc...
One thing that doesn't work: The physical home button! Instead you have to use the power button on top. Took a bit of time to get used to it, but it is all about compromises, and this really doesn't bother me considering all the goodness in this ROM...
Thanks Mrbungle!! That ROM is fantastic! Its like a whole new tablet, its so stable and hot dam is the performance better!
Also I want to clarify to anyone else that may see this thread, the home button does work fine, it just doesn't wake the tablet from sleep, need to use the lock button, no biggie really
I use Lineage 14.1, but on a build back in June. That has been stable for me. The only issue is camera doesn't always load, and often records low volume, but I never use the camera on the tablet since I have a phone.

Hello everybody, I just have a quick question regarding the battery life of custom ROMs. I have tested many ROMs and all of them either have performance issues or battery life issues and I was wondering if somebody could tell me which ROM has the best of both worlds? (if any of them do) because I really don't like LG's nougat skin. (Doesn't matter which model it's for they all seem to work lmao)

I have been impressed with [G4][13.1][TITAN] ~ AICP ~ [H815][H811][UNOFFICIAL] feeling it combines the best of AOSCP N and Lineage O.
Refer to post # 1206 in the UsU thread for my review of it. Here's a relevant excerpt:
Coming from LineageOS 15.1 Oreo, I am very impressed with the performance and stability of this rom. It seems to me to combine the best of the AOSCP N and LineageOS O roms, and it has Privacy Guard included, a big plus in my book as I can extend some battery life (in addition to having Greenify and Amplify installed), by turning off Keep Awake in Google Play Services and Google Services Framework and other apps as well as limiting some that I don't need to Run In Background or load on Bootup. Find it in Settings > Security and Privacy > Trust > Privacy Guard > touch the 3 dot menu in the top right of the screen and select Advanced.
Hey guys,
I have just received my new A2 Lite (4gb 64gb) with Oreo.
Is the 9.0 Pie upgrade worth it?
What kind of SOT are you guys getting and how's the overall battery life?
Smoother/faster or worse?
Any annoying bugs that haven't been sorted out yet or something that would hold you back from upgrading?
Thanks!
I think oreo is better on drain.
Pie has faster animations.
I recommend you should wait january update for pie. We are on 5 december security patch.
I haven't see any annoying bug yet.
If you upgrade to pie an hard reset would be good for daily use and speed(after updrading).

I noticed no bugs either, but some things are annoying, for example there are network indicator arrows on statusbar and it keeps showing and hiding itself. When you have DND enabled, it shows a dot then shows the DND icon. It's flipping annoying if you ask me. Other than that it seems fine but be aware you can't use a 3rd party launcher properly with Pie because of the new dock. It looks ugly and cuts the animation if you install another launcher. So far that's all my issues with Pie. Some people report that Pie has worse battery life, but I think it has to do with AI optimizations and it gets better with usage. Tried and tested. If the first two problems I wrote about won't disturb you, go ahead and install it. ALSO Pie doesn't have rounded corners on notifications like it does on Pixel devices. Which was a huge deal-breaker for me at first, but then I got used to it. Cheers!
EDIT: Overall Pie seems smoother because of the new animations and SOT depends on usage, my record was about 8,5 hours sot but again it depends on your usage, technically Pie is supposed give you better battery life. When you upgrade to Pie, you can downgrade however you will face SIM card issues etc.

Alright! thanks! But I guess it doesn't have any significant good changes versus the 8.0 other than visual changes, and or pretty much things that we won't notice.
A black theme would be good to have, and maybe the possibility to add the Gcam APK with that night mode. (apparently not working well on Pie?)
Thanks again for your long reply.

Black theme is already present on android 8 but you need to use a dark wallpaper, it's always on automatic. On Pie you can set it to dark mode always, but the accent colors are teal and some people don't like them. Dark mode only applies to phone, messaging and quick settings. Gcam apk found in themes and apps works fine on Pie, but ones I tried with Night Shot have issues, although you can use Night Shot you can't use Portrait etc. which makes it unusable so I use the old version, which gets the job done.
I have 10.5 or 11.5 SOT on pie .. sorry for my bad english
I have been on Pie basically since it was released in Indonesia (vpn enforced update), and, for me, the only lowlights are the hidden notifications (as mentioned above) and sligthy worse SOT. On the other hand, I really grew to like the launcher gestures, especially the switch between the last 2 used apps. I do not even mind the always present google search bar, which I mostly use to find and launch applications, rather then swiping up for the app list. The fingerprint reader gesture is a nice addition too (although I preferred the side swipe introduced on pre-December patch version). It really depends on what is important for you. I am enjoying it and would not go back.

crDroid [AlexKarimov]
PROs:
1 - Fast: Very responsive and loads quick. Example: stock used to delay when using google maps at all the wrong times. This ROM is lightning quick and I never miss a turn or exit.
2 - Stable: I've had only one or two random reboots but it's very rare.
3 - Customization: There is a high level of customization in this ROM. A LOT of options. At this point, I can't even tell you what I'm missing.
Bonus: Stock launcher is very nice. I usually upgrade to Nova for one reason or another but this has almost all the same features as Nova.
CONs:
1 - Data speed: I hesitate to put this here because I'm not sure if it's my ROM or incorrect APN settings(I don't remember stock so I've had to experiment). I've played around with different APNs and found one that works really good but data speed still seems a little slower than stock but only on Play Store for some reason.

General Impression: I love this ROM! It has just about everything I want(minus a few tweaks that are in AEX) but any drawbacks I've found are very minimal compared with the benefits.
Thank you for this comparison. I've recently purchased a second xz1c and just loaded AEX on it, so I'll give some impressions in a few weeks on that.

Thanks for review! Together we can bring up neat comparision of xz1 FW's!
Stock fw
pro:
Good battery life and has ultra stamina mode. Also Sony stock apps and audio tuning if you are into that kind of stuff. With combining firmware bits you can get volte and fingerprint working in US T-mobile.
con:
September 2019 is the last security patch, since then multiple vulnerabilities have been found including bluetooth "Bluefrag" vulnerability.
Lineage OS 17
Overall very clean and snappy rom. It's currently my daily driver.
Pro:
-Android 10.0 and everything that comes with it:
Built in gesture navigation
Re-worked permission management
New launcher/recents menu
-average battery life
-stock camera
-passes safetynet check
-trebuchet launcher with app lock functionality
-very stable, so far I have had no random reboots or anything of the sort.
Con:(not a lot)
-does not have picture preview after picture was taken on back camera in stock cam
-stock cam cannot save to sd card
Thanks for sharing your findings! Would you recommend LOS 16 or 17 over stock fw? How stable is it and how's the battery life? I have stock oreo and don't want to update due to the complaints. I've experienced some lag and restarts lately but I wonder if the long process of unlocking bl and flashing custom fw is worth it.

Using LOS 16.0 for 2 weeks with 47.2.A.11.228 stock firmware. Working perfectly and no problems with any app (no GAPPS installed and only using openSource apks such as: Signal, Telegram, K-9, QKSMS, OsmAnd, etc...)
Battery life, better than with stock Android 8.0 ( i never used Android 9 from Sony, just when i updated firmware to reboot and install LineageOS )
Since i'm working from home, is true that my XZ1C uses wifi all the time, but anyways, 3 days of battery is awesome

I've been using Lineage OS 17 by modpunk for the last three weeks and it's been very reliable. I have nano Gapps installed and get about 7% of battery used per hour with the screen on, and about 0.4% of battery drained per hour in stand by mode as reported by Franco Kernel Manager. Battery life for me is a bit worse than stock as there is no fine control over battery modes such as with stamina mode. I can get two days battery life with about 5 hours of screen on time, though I limit my charging to between 85%-15% which makes it a bit shorter.
I like the android 10 gestures as it frees up more space on the screen and I also like the new permission management for location. And I can't live without adaway which requires root.
I personally am happy with unlocking the boot loader and there is no significant difference besides when initially turning on the phone it shows a boot loader unblocked message. And the newer security patches are worth it in my opinion.
There is a easy to follow PDF guide that can explains all of the steps in the thread about DRM Key backups. https://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-xz1-compact/development/devonly-exploits-temp-root-to-backup-t3795510
I'll link it here if I find it.
But I wouldn't recommend it if you are planning on selling your phone in the near future.
