So i switched from EEA to Indonesian ROM for MIUI DIaler, but i'm curios does it have different firmwares for modem, bluetooth, wi-fi etc? Cause i'm scared that my mobile internet may work worse because of it. Unfortunately, I did not take a screenshot of the modem firmware version on the EEA ROM, on Indonesian ROM it's MOLY.LR13.R1.TC8.SP.V2.P59
no , Im using Indonesian ROM for more than 1 year no problem

I'd like to buy a Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 which is currently available only in the chinese version (sold with the chinese MIUI). I read that soon it will be on sale also in the global version (with the global MIUI out of the box). I was wondering if the only difference between the two variants is the firmware included or there are other differences
Just the ROM. You can unlock the Chinese version, and flash the MIUI EU or Epic ROM right now and have something very similar to the Global ROM right now.

Thanks, so if I flash the official global MIUI when it will be out it would be identical to the one sold as global version and I'll be able to get the OTA updates?
Presumably.
They just announced 2 hours ago that's it coming to India on the 10th. We can probably expect an official global ROM around that time.
I believe the English Version version at https://www.gearbest.com/cell-phones/pp_786413.html is the global version. It support many frequencies for AT&T and T-Mobile in the US.

I bought that one, and it is the Chinese ROM, but the hardware is the same. I registered my phone with my MIUI account and was able to unlock the bootloader three days later. Now I am running the EU ROM and everything just works.

+1 Same here,another from GearBest.
As you mentioned,the hardware is the same across the board,there are no region-specific models,just like with OnePlus & their latest,the OP5.
Only internal hardware variations are w/RAM & Storage,the rest is identical,no matter where you buy it.
If the original rom has chinese and english and I want to use english anyway, why is everyone changing to the eu or global roms?
You have less Chines grap on your phone (apps)

Remove the all the Chinese apps, and several things like Netflix and Contacts just work better (or at all).
Hi, I just bought an Redmi Note 5 Pro 6/64 on AliExpress, and it came with an unlocked bootloader and what it seemed to the a global ROM of MIUI. I didn't update because of ARB, since I read that it could brick my device, and it was ARB 3 so I didn't wanted to flash anything official. So I installed TWRP and flashed custom ROMs, but it seems that on every ROM I install I get no signal detected, I have to manually toggle a lot the network toggles to MAYBE get my Redmi Note 5 Pro to pickup signal. I'm just wondering if anyone has gone through this and how did you fixed it? I don't really want to flash the official global ROM to get it fixed properly. Thanks.

What version of MIUI are you on? You can check the version and flash the firmware only for that version. That should, in theory, fix any signal issue you got.

yes, because firmware isn't rom dependant. Like i've said, check if you're on ARB4 or 3 and flash a firmware depending on the result (be very careful).

The update you will get will be same and Quick just like other indian users
After changing region you can manually download Indian ROM from Xda they have posted it already
i am currently using miui official rom for indian version i switched to some aosp based roms and couldnt find the feel of miui 12 that smoothness and all the animation i know i am being a bit weird coz not everyone likes miui rom i just wanna switch to a miui based custom rom which will give me lesser bugs than the official miui and also the feel of miui. Ive searched for miui pro but a thread here at xda suggests its not good with a lot of bugs and inconvinience can anyone suggest a good miui based custom rom like xiaomi.ey just because they dropped the idea to work on this device even though now that every other roms are working just smooth plz someone suggest or give me any link so that i can proceed to install thanks in advance

They dropped so early, the bricks issues were solved without almost any risk following the proper steps and all the anti-brick files are there. I didn't find nothing based on Android 10 but only in Pie, this is the recovery to use for https://drive.google.com/file/d/1-5OlIttlKKI82_AD3q6WFaI0J34pfbDe/view and this is the ROM https://mega.nz/file/9BIiQQzL#YKRjCr5tQCb6LcKluKpVl2BsQaZ2e6jD2W-IoN-afhE
I don't know if some of them is the same version but through this tool https://www.xiaomitool.com/V2/ you'll found the Xiaomi.eu v11.0.2.0 stable and the Xiaomi.eu developer 9.11.21
I'm currently using the Indonesian v12.0.2.0, rooted, debloated unnecessary apps and is smooth so far, I used Xiaomi.eu by years but I don't miss it at all.

A guy here is claiming to have a Miui Pro ROM based on Android 10 https://xiaomi.eu/community/threads/xiaomi-eu-hmnote8pro-mtk-begonia-support.53542/post-522711 and asking to Google this is the result https://forum.miuipro.info/viewtopic.php?t=4432&start=200 I didn't checked my self so is a downgrade (not interested).
As per flashing a firmware for other variant you can flash the global (also the EEA included), the Indonesian too, I don't recommend the China version BUT as far as I know the indian version came without NFC capabilities to hardware level and i found someone more that say the same https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-8-pro/how-to/guide-redmi-note-8-pro-megathread-t4056527
I have an Indonesian Poco F3. Since Novemeber last year I'm using it with the global firmware and a custom ROM. Back then the only recommended firmware for the ROM was global and I just sticked to that. However, other Regions are also recommended now and I was thinking about switching to the fitting region. But so far I didn't encounter any issues with the global firmware.
Are there any benefits when switch to the region specific firmware, compared to global (I use the phone in Europe at the moment)?
What are really the differences between those firmwares? I couldn't find any useful information on that. I can not image there are hardware differences, since I use another region for several months now and didn't encounter any issues.

The differences are in the themes and some apps like Music which is limited depending on the region where you use the phone, the Indonesian has call recording like the Taiwain and China (Miui dialer) the other Google dialer and google messages, EEA rom for Europe applies GDPR or GDPR.
A lot goes to the Indonesian for the Miui dialer and which has several languages unlike that of China which remains the most evolved.
EUXM=EEA Europe
MIXM=Global
TRXM=Turkey
RUXM=Russia
INXM=India
JPXM=Japan
IDXM=Indonesia
TWXM=Taiwan
CNXM=China
DEV=Public Beta
Have you tried these roms, better than stock and Miui dialer.

" I use another region for several months now and didn't encounter any issues."
You have changed the rom version, the firmware is included.
The firmware allows the os to work and is specific to your device.
For example: Chinese firmware is for Chinese rom rom.
Whatever the region of the firmware their size is identical and contains exactly the same files but the coding is different.
Xiaomi EU rom use firmware Global ou Chinese to be able to adapt their roms to all devices.
For AOSP roms it's different, since they don't use MIUI OS, the OP can recommend any firmwares.
You can see here that the size of the roms is different according to the regions.
https://xiaomifirmwareupdater.com/miui/alioth/
And that the firmware have the same size
https://xiaomifirmwareupdater.com/firmware/alioth/stable/V13.0.7.0.SKHEUXM/
https://xiaomifirmwareupdater.com/firmware/alioth/stable/V13.0.6.0.SKHCNXM/
Firmware is a type of software that is etched directly into a piece of hardware. It operates without going through APIs, the operating system, or device drivers—providing the needed instructions and guidance for the device to communicate with other devices or perform a set of basic tasks and functions as intended.

In firmware you have only your phone drivers,like Bluetooth,wifi, network.In regions,the different things in fw are modem and audio drivers.This is why if you flash wrong fw you will have problems with your network/wifi connection and video/audio will be laggy.

Hey bro, as I said the firmware is not included in the custom ROM. You need to extract it from official ROM. See here: https://wiki.lineageos.org/devices/alioth/fw_update
Again my question is if anyone *KNOWS* what and if they are differences in the different Firmware regions, and when to use which region. I don't care about the ROM, my question is just about the firmware.
You confuse CUSTOM ROM as Xiaomi Eu rom and AOSP ROM which are most often port rom from Google Pixel.
