please put [GAPPS] into the topic title to protect users!
and make more clear that this ROM ist not GAPPfree available!
great, the rom is really smooth, I've tried other android 13 roms but either there were bugs in them or they weren't as smooth as evox. thanks!
WIFI connects then loses signal. Tried different kernels. Otherwise very nice rom.
No issues so far.
Spare device kept at home, connected only to WiFi, no connection issues.
For the record, this ROM has the echo issue when calling i.e. your correspondant ear himself talking (seems also volume dependant : when lowering the volume of the call, the echo diminish but doesn't disappear)
When using a bluetooth headphone the echo is not present
I didn't test anything else yet, I will add on this post if I found anything else.
Thanx for this Rom, the best android 13 so far.
Can you please remove gapps
and add signature spoofing support to it.
I use this "mixer_paths_0" may reduce the ECHO on phone calls for anyone how had this problem
New update available in OP
- February Security Patch
- BT Audio in calls resolved.
- Synced with Evolution X source (many new features)
- OTA implemented (This APK if you install it, allow you to update from your current build with OTA after a reboot)
- Misc performance and stability improvements.

it must not be embezzeled that this is a GOOGLE APPS ROM
a simple tag like:

[ROM] 13 Evolution X 7.x for Galaxy S7 series [GAPPS]
unfortunately it evolves like the plague that
more and more GOOGLE APPs ROMs show up
however they are almost all in disguise
and a question about legal:
if GAPPS are included how are the following requirements met:
Leverage over manufacturers
Google licenses their Google Mobile Services software, along with the Android trademarks, only to hardware manufacturers for devices that meet Google's compatibility standards specified in the Android Compatibility Program document.[318] Thus, forks of Android that make major changes to the operating system itself do not include any of Google's non-free components, stay incompatible with applications that require them, and must ship with an alternative software marketplace in lieu of Google Play Store.[114] A prominent example of such an Android fork is Amazon's Fire OS, which is used on the Kindle Fire line of tablets, and oriented toward Amazon services.[114] The shipment of Android devices without GMS is also common in mainland China, as Google does not do business there.[319][320][321]
In 2014, Google also began to require that all Android devices which license the Google Mobile Services software display a prominent "Powered by Android" logo on their boot screens.[115] Google has also enforced preferential bundling and placement of Google Mobile Services on devices, including mandated bundling of the entire main suite of Google applications, mandatory placement of shortcuts to Google Search and the Play Store app on or near the main home screen page in its default configuration,[322] and granting a larger share of search revenue to OEMs who agree to not include third-party app stores on their devices.[323] In March 2018, it was reported that Google had begun to block "uncertified" Android devices from using Google Mobile Services software, and display a warning indicating that "the device manufacturer has preloaded Google apps and services without certification from Google". Users of custom ROMs can register their device ID to their Google account to remove this block.[324]
Some stock applications and components in AOSP code that were formerly used by earlier versions of Android, such as Search, Music, Calendar, and the location API, were abandoned by Google in favor of non-free replacements distributed through Play Store (Google Search, Google Play Music, and Google Calendar) and Google Play Services, which are no longer open-source. Moreover, open-source variants of some applications also exclude functions that are present in their non-free versions.[114][325][326][327] These measures are likely intended to discourage forks and encourage commercial licensing in line with Google requirements, as the majority of the operating system's core functionality is dependent on proprietary components licensed exclusively by Google, and it would take significant development resources to develop an alternative suite of software and APIs to replicate or replace them. Apps that do not use Google components would also be at a functional disadvantage, as they can only use APIs contained within the OS itself. In turn, third-party apps may have dependencies on Google Play Services.[328]
Members of the Open Handset Alliance, which include the majority of Android OEMs, are also contractually forbidden from producing Android devices based on forks of the OS;[114][329] in 2012, Acer Inc. was forced by Google to halt production on a device powered by Alibaba Group's Aliyun OS with threats of removal from the OHA, as Google deemed the platform to be an incompatible version of Android. Alibaba Group defended the allegations, arguing that the OS was a distinct platform from Android (primarily using HTML5 apps), but incorporated portions of Android's platform to allow backwards compatibility with third-party Android software. Indeed, the devices did ship with an application store which offered Android apps; however, the majority of them were pirated.[330][331][332]

It's not really a disguise, the rom size accounts for the included gapps. I do not add tags as it clutters things.

XOS is a new generation Android-based cutting-edge OS based on the Android Open Source Project and Code Aurora Forum releases.
What is XOS?
halogenOS, also known as XOS is a new Android ROM which ships with the global aim to
become a modular ROM which keeps as high as potentially possible operating
performance on your mobile device while still maintaining a sufficient feature
base of nice, small and minimal features that would not be available via any
external feature base, extension, mod or plugin.
We hope you have a truly halogenified experience!
Internals of XOS
At core, the ROM is composed mainly of components from the
Android Open Source Project (AOSP) and Code Aurora Forum (CAF),
with extremely minor set of components from LineageOS (LaOS or LN) which
have been added to source in order to allow for better cross-device compatibility.
Our LOVE to others
A huge thanks goes to those behind the AOSP and CAF, the LineageOS Project and all of its
contributors for the sources used in the development of the base ROM which we
started with inclusive of all the work and dedication their team puts in order to
keep us updated on the awesome contributions that they make.
We will be keen on ensuring that we be up to date with the code from our base sources,
with regular ROM updates hopefully coming from time to time.
Please do not ask for ETA's (else you shall be spooked by Mr Skeltal). Almost all of us are
students, and with the current lifestyles and routines we have, it is not that easy to acquire
time to develop the ROM, though we'll be sure to keep you updated and release OTAs as
soon as they are available and ready for publication. If you want to be really updated quick,
then join us on Telegram: http://telegram.me/halogenos
Visit our website for features such as: Downloads, Information etc.
http://halogenos.org
Although no data should be lost or damaged by the flashing process,
we advise you to follow the following steps if you are coming from another ROM:
Code:
* Please take a full [I]Nandroid[/I] backup!
* Please copy your back up to an external device.
* Backing up your [I]Internal Storage[/I] is also recommended.
* When completed, [I]clean flash[/I] the build!
Although you usually may dirty flash halogenOS over other ROMs, considering the other
ROM is built upon the same Android version, it is not guaranteed.
In case of performance issues or crashes please do a clean flash.
You can dirty flash halogenOS 7 (Nougat) over halogenOS 6 (Marshmallow)
without any problems. Although we cannot promise that it will work for you,
although we don't recommend it, we can tell you that this has been tested.
Overall as a ROM, XOS is very stable. Our mission statement has always been of maintaining a clean and properly maintained ROM.
We take proper priority with ensuring that performance and stability are put first, features are considered an extra topping on the cake.

1] VoLTE works? Heck yeah yep.
2] WiFi works without bootloop wagera? Haan bhai it works.
3] Why no 7.2.x/new feature/5g support? We are sane developers that believe in keeping things slow and steady. We have college just like you. If you can help us in our academics lol, maybe we'd implement it. But we are always open to new ideas.
4] Bugs? Report them over Telegram or on the thread. Better if you Telegram. We are online 24/7.
5] Problems? We have a vast community over Telegram. You might want to ask there and get your answers asap. Links are mentioned above.
6] ROM has OTA updater and will give you a notification when a new build is come. We have a release schedule which we follow sincerely. Release builds are done only on alternate Saturdays two times a month, unless a major fix has to be implemented. If you do not get a notification, you can manually update the ROM.
7] Wanna contribute by becoming a beta tester? Know what are logs? Know to take a sysdump and what is console-ramoops? Join our group over Telegram. And pm me. I'll let you know after knowing your potential!

Huge shoutout to our beta testers for helping me in getting this tested thoroughly! Specially @tywinlannister7 who was ever ready to test out the builds when they were bootlooping initially and during wifi **** lol!
Well here we go
I think im a beta tester too! Nice ROM, but i cant turn off battery led and can not find an option to disable it :c
Anyways, still testing. Good work!
Lovely Rom, nice and smooth and stable too. It did report my sandisk SD card as being corrupt though. If anyone else gets this don't automatically let it format or repair as the chances are it's not corrupt at all.

It did the same thing with mine. And attempting to repair the filesystem within recovery or by putting it in a computer to run fsck didn't work.
Is this ROM / included kernel supposed to have exFAT support?
Confirmed on Transcend microSD 128gb card also--"corrupted"

Regarding the corrupt SD card issue for some. I've just reverted back to stock for a while and the card is actually working fine. So I'd recommend backing up the contents before installing halogenOS
I'm not having the sd card issues but I am having fm radio problem, but no biggie to me...no bootloops...solid build for sure.
Good!?
Could you add the color calibration option please
Awesome ROM, quite stable and smooth
After flashing this rom, the camera does not seem to work...

Is it supposed to be difficult? Was trivial effort on our end
Is camera with working EIS on 4k recording, like on OOS 4.5.7? Tnx
Alternate mirror : https://sourceforge.net/projects/halogenos/files/cheeseburger/
Camera is really slow. Not sure if it was tested, but it took 2-3 seconds to take a photo.. is it normal ? or just on my end ?
Also I must add that, although it looked like the Oneplus5 camera, the portrait option was missing

About
The linux-based open-source mobile operating system Android is not only the most popular mobile operating system in the world, it’s also on the way to becoming a proprietary operating system. How is that?
While the core operating system is still released as part of the Android Open Source Project, the majority of core apps are not. It gets worse: More and more libraries and APIs are only available on phones that run various Google apps pre-installed, effectively locking third-party apps to the Google ecosystem. For these reasons Android is described as being a “look but don’t touch” kind of open.
At this point, several popular open-source applications already require some of Google’s proprietary libraries to be installed. Increasing demand in the free software community in addition to severe problems in Google’s proprietary software discovered by the Android modding community, have led to the development of a free software clone of Google’s proprietary core libraries and applications - the microG Project was born.
Although most microG components are far from complete, users are amazed by the results. Free software users got extended application support, privacy-caring users can reduce or monitor data that is sent to Google and especially older phones can expect some battery life improvements. microG is not only used on real devices, but also replaces Google tools in test emulators and is even used in virtual mobile infrastructure.
Overview
microG GmsCore is a free and open implementation of the Google Play Services Framework. It allows applications calling proprietary Google APIs to run on AOSP-based ROMs like Replicant and LineageOS. Acting as a replacement for the closed-source Google Apps (GAPPS), it is a powerful tool to reclaim your privacy while enjoying Android core features.
Features
Opt-in to Google Services and extend application support

Introduction
iodéOS is a privacy-focused operating system powered by LineageOS and based on the Android mobile platform. iodéOS aims at protecting the user's privacy with a built-in adblocker and by freeing the smartphone from snitches.
The objectives in the conception of this ROM are threefold:
To keep the stability and security level of LineageOS, by minimizing the modifications made to the system. Apart the system modifications required by the adblocker, we mainly only added a few useful options commonly found in other custom ROMs, made some cosmetic changes, modified a few default settings to prevent data leaks to Google servers.
To ease a quick adoption of this ROM by new users. We especially target users that are concerned by the protection of their privacy, but are not reluctant to still use inquisitive apps like Google ones. We thus included MicroG as well as a coherent set of default apps (all open source, with one exception), and simplified the initial setup of the system. Particularly, an initialization of MicroG has been made with GCM notifications allowed by default, a privacy-friendly network location provider (DéjàVu) pre-selected, as well as Nominatim Geocoder.
To provide a new and powerful way of blocking ads, malwares, data leaks of all kinds to many intrusive servers. We are developing an analyzer, tightly integrated into the system, that captures all DNS requests and network traffic, as well as a user interface (the iodé app). Compared to some other well-known adblockers, this has the advantages of:
Avoiding to lock the VPN for that use. You can even use another adblocker that uses VPN technology alongside our blocker.
Being independent of the kind of DNS server used by the system or set by an independent app: classical DNS on UDP port 53 or any other one, DNS over TLS (DoT), DNS over HTTPS (DoH), ..., as we capture the DNS requests before they are transmitted to the system function that emits the DNS request. What we do not support, is DoH when it is natively built into applications, i.e. when an app communicates directly with a DoH server, without asking name resolution to the system. It would require to decrypt HTTPS packets between such an app and the DoH server, which may create a big security hole.
Precisely mapping DNS requests and network packets to the Android apps that emitted (or received) them.
Deciding which apps have a filtered network usage (by default, all apps), and which ones can communicate with blacklisted servers.
Since its first versions, we added many features to the iodé blocker: several levels of protection, fine-grained control over the hosts that should be blocked or authorized, displaying statistics on a map to see the quantity of data exchanged to which countries, clearing statistics... We are actively developing the blocker, and new functionalities will be regularly added.
Features
Changes in LineageOS to prevent data leaks:
Default DNS server: Google's DNS replaced by Quad9's 'unblocked' servers in all parts of the system.
A-GPS: patches to avoid leaking personnal information like IMSI to supl server.
Captive portal login: connectivitycheck.gstatic.com replaced by captiveportal.kuketz.de for connectivity check.
Dialer: Google default option replaced by OpenStreetMap for phone number lookup.
Pre-installed apps:
We included many useful default apps, but our choice cannot suit everyone; so we added the possibility to remove them. It can be done at the end of the phone setup, or at any time by going to Parameters -> Apps & Notifications -> Preinstalled apps.
MicroG core apps: GmsCore, GsfProxy, FakeStore.
NLP backends for MicroG : DejaVuNLPBackend (default), MozillaNLPBackend, AppleNLPBackend, RadioCellsNLPBackend, Nominatim Geocoder.
App stores : FDroid (with F-Droid Privileged Extension) and Aurora Store.
Browser: our own fork of Firefox (with Qwant as default search engine, many other ones added, telemetry disabled, parts of telemetry code removed) instead of Lineage’s default browser Jelly.
SMS: QKSMS instead of Lineage's default SMS app.
Email: p≡p (Pretty Easy Privacy).
Camera: our own fork of Open Camera, with a few tweaks.
Maps/navigation: Magic Earth GPS & Navigation (the only one free but not open source).
Keyboard: OpenBoard instead of AOSP keyboard.
PDF: Pdf Viewer Plus.
Personnal notes: Carnet.
{Ad/Malware/Data leak}-blocker: iodé.
News: to keep users informed about our developments, as well as a FAQ.
Meteo: Geometric Weather.
Pre-included FDroid repository:
The apps that we tweak or develop (microG services, the browser based on Firefox, the News app, Open Camera ...) are available through a repository that we included in FDroid (check the "Apps for iodéOS" category). For this purpose and to avoid name conflicts of some apps, we also had to make a few changes in FDroid.
Useful options from other custom ROMs:
Smart charging (disables charging when a given level is reached, to protect battery health).
Fingerprint vibration toggle.

04/04/2023 (build 20230401):
Installation procedure: move to a fastboot script (read instructions: https://gitlab.com/iode/ota)
Blocker: improved use of blocking lists (sub-domains blocking)
FDroid: fixes an issue on apps update
LineageOS synchronized with March security patch included
All apps updated
07/02/2023 (build 20230131):
Upgrade to iodéOS 4.0 based on Android 13 / LineageOS 20
Blocker:
Improved blocking settings. You can now choose 'Standard' blocking (ads, trackers, malwares, etc) or 'Reinforced' blocking (same objective but more extensive), and then select additional categories.
The 'Porn' category has been extended to a wider 'Sensitive content' one, that also includes fake news, gambling, drugs, piracy, torrent..., with mainly child protection in mind.
The 'Extreme' category has been removed, as it is now part of the reinforced blocking.
Improved blocking lists. We merge several acknowledged and up-to-date sources, and have diversified our sources to produce more complete lists. The standard list has however been reduced a bit, to avoid as much as possible interference with apps expected behavior.
Added a new network location provider: Local NLP Backend. It is an improved version of the DéjàVu NLP backend which was already available in iodéOS. Like DéjàVu, it builds a local database connecting localizations learned from other NLP backends and apps using GPS, and mobile antennas/Wifi; but also has an active mode (not preselected) that can trigger GPS requests. To configure it: Settings -> System -> microG -> Location modules
LineageOS synchronized with January security patch included
All apps updated
New devices support: Pixel 3, 6, 6a
16/12/2022 (build 20221215): initial publicly available build of iodéOS for OnePlus 9 Pro.
the concept of the rom is amazing, for me who am a fan and study cybersecurity I like it a lot, thanks for that, I had already tried the 'lineage for microg', and I will definitely try this rom, the dns analysis seems to me a great idea, so I can use protonvpn without ads or trackers without complications! thank you for that!

In gitlab there are no specific instructions for the Oneplus 9 Pro, only for the Oneplus 9, and using the lemonadep files with the Oneplus 9 instructions the cell phone cannot start in recovery, it always goes back to the bootloader. I tried flashing the recovery image on the boot partition as well and it didn't work. This using firmware c.63, was on CrDroid earlier.
I flashed the 'dtbo', 'vendor_boot' and 'boot' files from the official lineage build '20221213' files, and reflashed the IODE rom images, but to no avail again.
EDIT:
I was able to install by flashing the rom using the lineage recovery 20221206, the recovery remained the lineage one after the flash.
All required files are here : https://github.com/iodeOS/ota/releases/tag/v3-lemonadep
We'll add instructions for op9 pro asap.
Super grateful for your work so far..
Please can you add Oneplus 8 / 8 pro rom variants
Thank you!

They are in post #1 of this thread.
I must have overlooked them. Thank you
pro: it's lineage 19.1, simple, clean, AOSP based rom with embedded microG (also push notifications working)
# appreciate the "preinstalled app" you can skip installing dialer, browser etc (if you have a favourite alternative not listed)
# iodé adblock allows applications and/or domain filter
# it's also compatible with custom kernel
cons: it's still A12L, very basic interface
for those users caring about privacy
@vince31fr : good job, thank you
Have you or anyone else checked if Android Auto works on this ROM? I'm on crDroid but cant get AA to work on it while running microG, seems it might not be doable on A13 with microG at the moment.

I understand, but it seems like it is possible. Seen some instruction that required a bit more manual work, and zip. Might give this magisk zip a shot if install this ROM this weekend. Will report back if I do in case someone else wants to know.
While I really enjoyed using pixel extended ROM, I had to remind myself why I bought this phone. To de-google. Took the plunge, installed this ROM and couldn't be happier with the results.
This ROM is exactly what I am looking for. I love my OnePlus 9 Pro hardware but want to move from OOS A11 and to a more secure ROM. I have traditionally run privacy oriented ROMs like Calyx and GrapheneOS on Pixels, but am much more pleased with the OnePlus 9 Pro hardware.
I see that you are currently using an A12 base. Will an OTA to an A13 base be available at some point?
Is Warp Charging working?
Also, I tried ProtonOS and had no Verizon 5G, which I rely upon in the USA. Has anyone had success with Verizon 5G?
Lastly, I am willing to pay a dev to remote into my system using TeamViewer for the first installation. If that's workable, I'll PayPal or Zelle you for your time.
Thank you for the great work!

installation is just a sequence.of actions to perform
- unlock bootloader
- udpate firmware
- install the rom (following lineageos instructions)
- in case of exception EDL tool will reset.your phone to stock
in any case, if you are interested in this project, you can also keep contact with their official channel, to be sure the one helping you knows better than me the iverall system.

it looks like the dtbo, vendor_boot, and boot files aren't named correctly. there is no file named "vendor_boot".
also, what firmware do we need to be on to flash this successfully? I tried using C.63 and F.18, and both failed.

I am on 63 and it works
you can get the initial partition by your-self using payload-dumper tool
or use older ones already available online
(dtbo, verdor_boot, boot needs to be older than the rom, otherwise sideload process fails with downgrade error, don't worry if that file are 1 or 2 months older, all partitions are updated during rom flashing process)

Installation instructions
Make sure you are on OneUI 5 firmware (D bootloader or newer) before flashing this ROM, otherwise the installation might fail or not boot!
Installing LineageOS using LineageOS recovery
Follow the guide on the LineageOS wiki.
Installing LineageOS using TWRP/OrangeFox
Make sure your device's bootloader is unlocked.
Make sure to have the latest available version of TWRP/OrangeFox installed.
If wanted, backup all your necessary partitions (super, boot, vendor_boot, data, EFS) before flashing this in case something goes wrong.
Download the lineage build for your device from the link below and optionally download your preferred GApps package too.
Flash the LineageOS zip using the "Install" button.
Optionally, flash Gapps right after.
Format data in TWRP/OrangeFox as the very last thing, otherwise you may end up in a bootloop if coming from stock ROM.
Wipe metadata and cache partitions. This only has to be done once when you install LineageOS.

Good work!
Great work, I'm on One UI 5.1 right now. Can I flash it, nevertheless?
And some screenshots of the ROM would be really appreciated as well.
What a journey, feels great to witness the evolution of it
This is the start of many things to come! I appreciate @Simon1511 effort unto this.
That's awesome, finally.
Bugs: Noticed the camera app is really buggy, when I switch the video resolution/FPS, camera shows a black screen or a frozen picture, also switching from front/back camera and other things also glitch up.
Camera is black as shown above, and identify songs playing nearby doesn't seem to want to turn on either
This is a huge milestone for the development of ROMs for this phone.
sim toolkit kinda broken still
Hi guys
How is Battery life on this rom ?
Performance for gaming ?
Thanks for answering
I have Android 13 currently installed, it's a GMS firmware, based on Google's Experience ROM. I tried to install the ROM but got message that it's not android 13 even though I know it's 13. Is it caused by missing oneUI? If so what are my options to get this ROM installed? Go back to Samsung's original ROM? Is it even possible? Thanks

My ROM does require Android 13 firmware, not just any Android 13 ROM.
So yes, you'll have to return to stock ROM to flash the latest firmware available for you phone and then install LineageOS.
Thank you for your effort. Now I'm really considering buying this phone.
Hi,
I have installed this ROM and when connected to a WifI i get the msg: "Connected/No internet access".
Googling around I got I had to check with Termux the value of this variable:
> settings get global captive_portal_server
> null
I understand the value of not using the default google owned http://connectivitycheck.gstatic.com but cannot this value be set to some site more privacy-aware/FOSS/non-tracking site rather than NULL ?
( read about that here : https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/guide-how-to-avoid-the-captive-portal-checkin-to-google.3927561/)
I found these strange languages below when adding a language. Also, I installed F-droid app and then Aurora Store from F-droid repository. But Aurora Store keeps closing, it doesn't work with this ROM. I'm not sure if this is Aurora issue or something in this ROM that stops Aurora from running.
I can confirm that the camera app stops working shortly after being in use. It starts up, it allows me to take a photo but once I take a look at taken photo and go back to taking pictures again the camera screen is black.
in settings -> display -> colors, there are 4 options to choose from and sample pictures. are these pictures expected to change in color to exemplify the effect of 4 options? if yes then in my installation this doesn't work. a change in options is not reflected on the images.
