UPGRADING all defy to defy+ kernell and run rom's

It would be a good idea that we could all go and kernel 2.2 and go directly to 2.3.4 or 2.3.6 with its advantages.
Of course we have the problems of red and green lenses. But I think that what he would pass the old kernel to 2.3.4 and everything that we run CM7, CM9 MIUI and now work better if we had the base 2.3 kernel
It was once 2.3.4 goes or you can not go down to 2.2 but that for me and for many is not a problem because our phone is no longer under warranty.

Claro que tenemos los problemas de lentes rojas y verdes. Pero yo creo que lo suyo sería pasar del kernel antiguo al 2.3.4 ya que todo lo que corremos CM7, MIUI y ahora CM9 funcionaría mejor si tuvieramos el kernel base 2.3
Se que una vez se pasa a 2.3.4 no se puede volver o bajar a 2.2 pero eso para mi y para muchos no es un problema ya que nuestro móvil ya no esta en garantía.
Ahora mi pregunta es. Quien ha probado CM7, MIUI y CM9 con los kernel 2.3 y si habria que hacer algo para poder correr estas rom's con este kernel.

is a good and bad idea, good for the red lense ones but bad for others since there is almos no suport for green lense defys there is cm7 for defy plus kernels and cm7, you can boot 2.3.4 kernel in defy and have the same benefits but if you flash full 2.3.6 sbf or 2.3.4 you wont be able to boot miui becouse is based on froyo base
for boot miui over a 2.3 base , miui needs to re compile the rom usiing cm7 for defy plus

I do not think it is difficult to patch the kernel to work with green lens ... In fact in 2.2 both run the same software base kernel ... so that differences can not be in 2.3
I guess the final thing will be to decompile the kernel change a few lines to work with the framework of MIUI and respect to the lens ... I understand that the kernel is not a thing of the 2.3 libraries that may not be compatible with the green lens but that can be supported.

No creo que sea complicado parchear el kernel para que funcionen con los lente verde... de hecho en 2.2 ambos funcionan con el mismo software kernel base... por lo que no se que diferencias puede haber en el 2.3
supongo que al final sera cosa de decompilar el kernel cambiar algunas lineas para que funcione con el framework de miui y respecto a la lente ... entiendo que de kernel no es es cosa de librerias que las del 2.3 no podran ser compatibles con el lente verde pero eso se puede hacer compatible.
lo bueno de esto seria que todos tendriamos como el defy+ por lo que todo el trabajo de rom's y demas seria en una única dirección ahora mismo los del defy+ estan sin soporte miui...

the piont is tha we can compile the kernel from source but one problem, the bootloader have a RSA encripting code locked in the MBM or efuse and it wont let us flash custom kernels, but we can build custom modules to get both cameras working ( hard part!

1.54 custom kernel is still in investigation and development by other developers. Look around the development section of the forum.
I believe you can still flash TWRP just fine if the device bootloader is unlocked. Visit LineageOS or new ResurrectionRemix ROM and search for TWRP image.
Those two threads will tell you how to flash TWRP.

J2 prime rom (SM-G532M)

Hi everybody,i have a cuestion about if i can use a rom of another version in the cellphone because there are a little bit roms In SM 532G more than in mine and there is no cooked roms to my version ,i dont know if could be secure or efficient install the lineage OS in developement.thank you im tired of the stock rom (excuse me,im not a native english speaker :v)

ENGLISH: There are no custom or modified ROMs for the J2 Prime unfortunately. I did, however, develop a debloat script to eliminate system apps you may not need. You can find it here: Debloat Script

2- Sistema como Root, Tu dispositivo no soporta Sistema como Root. Usa un sistema operativo A-only.
3- Arquitectura, Tu dispositivo es ARM64.
4- Actualizaciones en segundo plano, Las actualizaciones en segundo plano no están soportadas. Tu dispositivo debe entrar en el modo de recuperación para instalar actualizaciones y hay un riesgo elevado de fallos, comparado con los dispositivos que soportan las actualizaciones en segundo plano.

I'll start with this important note: this will likely be interesting to a small subset of users as it 1) does cost money to deploy and run this cloud infrastructure in AWS 2) requires a bit more technical knowledge to get this up and running than most things on XDA 3) the OS build process maintains verified boot with your own custom keys which means things like root/magisk are not a good fit. Anyways, I've created a cross platform tool, rattlesnakeos-stack, that allows you to build your own customized Android OS for Google Pixel phones using AWS cloud infrastructure. The default OS that this tools builds without any customizations is called RattlesnakeOS, which is really just AOSP with very minor additions. If there is something you don't like about the default OS, you can add customizations on top of it or start with a completely blank slate and build your own OS.
