Does anybody else on the Android 12 V632 (probably also V732) firmware get lower performance than previously in 3D Mark etc.? It looks like GPU clocks are no longer locked to 840 MHz but instead drop below 840 all the times. Diablo Mode shows the same behavior for me. Rolling back to V420 and everything is locked again and performance as expected.

After installing the latest OTA update my CPU load has been hovering around a load average of 15-20 which is extremely high... lots of lag and nothing running in the background... It seems highest when the screen is OFF which is very strange... I installed the OTA update that fixes the exynos security issues so I'm hoping there is something I can do to resolve this... over all the phone is sluggish which has never been an issue until now....
Has anyone seen this? I thought I fixed it with the exynos abuse app (Which did seem to help) but the high CPU usage / load averages are sitting around 15-20 which is extremely high.... with a quad core CPU, and you see a load average of 4 that means you're using 100% of your system's resources (generally) can anyone help? Even though I have mine rooted through exynos abuse, can I load a rom over top of what i have now? (stock but rooted) ? thanks
I know, I'm sorry, benchmarks, who needs them? The reason I'm testing is because I bought this phone used and I want to make sure that it's not broken in some way. I have a friend who is flipping HTC 10's and he's been doing benchmarks on each one that comes across his desk, and it seems like they're quite a bit different than mine.
On the stock rom my Antutu score has ranged from 108,000 to 152,000. Each time there's up to a 20,000 point difference. In my experience, your benchmark scores shouldn't change much unless you change something, so why the 45K range in scores? Not only that, but in Lineage 14.1 my scores drop significantly, down to 72,000, with the highest at 98,000.
I performed a RUU today and my scores are still flexing between 108 and 118K.
GeekBench 4 is a similar issue, my multicore performance has ranged from 1700 to 4100, and my single core from 1100 to 1700.
On a regular basis my Droid turbo (from 2014, running Lineage 14.1) is beating my HTC One in both tests. Do I have a bad phone, or is this normal behavior for the Sprint 10?
My buddy gets about 4000/1700 in geekbench and about 118K in Antutu, and his scores don't seem to change very much. He's running Lineage 14.1.

Perhaps it's thermal throttling?
Nougat update improved things on that front. Are you on Marshmallow? Also you can try going into developer option and setting High Performance mode and then doing your test to see if you get improved scores.

I think you're probably right on the thermal throttling side of things. I'm on Lineage 14.1 now, and if I run a benchmark after the phone has been idle for a while it's in the 138K range where it's supposed to be. Overclocked on stock is where I'm getting closer to 145K. I think I was doing too many tests, and when they were bad, I'd flash to another ROM (while charging) which didn't help with the thermal side of things.
Thermal throttling also would explain why if you do one test, then immediately repeat it the phone will score worse, which happens every time I try it.
I'm not on MM, I did a RUU to the latest version of N and then unlocked from there.
Tomorow I am going to sell my Asus Rog5, so now I want to buy RM6 Pro ...So question is simple are you happy with you phone?
And pros and cons pls
Hello, I know am late on this but do not sell your ROG.. RM6 have lots of software issues. the most am suffering with is they limit it from using full performance! I can't see it using 840mhz on GPU for genshin or ANY game! my friend have ROG 5 and I can see his GPU on SD888 can use full performance. Nubia's software is really not good! I regret buying it.

While I agree with RM6's software issues, I'm not so sure about your statements on their GPU performance. I own a standard ROG Phone 5 and I can confirm that GPU speed runs at max speed for the first 5 minutes of playing Genshin, but quickly slows down as the device heats up. This is even with AeroActive Cooler 5 mounted and set to max fan speed. So it's important to also determine and compare sustained GPU performance, which I believe RM6 wins here.
Phone build is good. Spec and features are good but very lacking in the software department. Bugs and errors in lots of parts of the phone. Physically feels good but software feels bad. Runs games well

I never.. like never seen the GPU runs at 840mhz, only in antutu. for genshin I see it goes up to 600mhz something when I run the game while the phone is cool, then it drops right away to 540mhz. and keeps like that or lower. and no matter how much I cool it, it never goes above that. I used their new cooler.. and I put the device in front of AC that it got so cold. yet still never gone above 540mhz.. even the CPU stuck at 2.4.. how is this not an issue? I just want to use the full performance. I had RM5 G and I used the rom they provided here to boost the GPU to 940mhz, it was doing better than this one.. I'll never buy a phone from Nubia ever again. next time I'll just get the ROG.

My GPU reaching at max frequency probably happened while I was sitting in the start screen or looking straight at the wall but now that I think about it it didn't really maintain for 5 minutes. The Adreno 660 is very power hungry and runs hot this time around for internal and external cooling to matter (hence RM6 has the edge). You can certainly use custom kernel to boost the GPU even higher but I'd worry about phones with limited cooling. Also I've yet to find ROG 5 custom kernel that boosts GPU frequency.
But really the SoC should improve on efficiency aspect as the ROG 3 did really well in peak and sustained performance. There's hope and excitement for the upcoming AMD GPU on mobile but I'm not sure if other vendors will adopt it besides Samsung.
I've downloaded the KOSP ROM 2.7(unofficial version) switching from Evolution X's latest version just for the sake of seeing it's Performance since I've heard it's very optimized for gaming Smartphones, so far ever since I've downloaded that ROM, my Performance and Prime cores have been showing a really strange behavior.
They never go above 1478 MHZ for the performance and 1862 MHZ for the prime core when 865 has the potential to ramp up to 2.4 and 2.8 MHZ, and the strange thing is that it doesn't respond to dynamic Frequency Change if I want to change it in FKM.
Then, sometimes they would strangely ramp up to 2246MHZ and 2457 for the prime core, just to go back down to 1478MHZ and 1862 and unlike before, switching no governor does change that, almost as if there's some sort of magnet attracting it.
I've already tried switching multiple ROMs and Kernels even the ones that would grant be full frequency throttle that I've already installed before, but so far no matter the ROM and Kernel, result is the same.
Please guys, help, I'm seeing extremely bad browsing and gaming performance like this!
Edit: yes, it's running in performance mode and Governor.
Edit 2: as I'm talking to you, the performance cores randomly switched to 1.7 GHZ and not only I can't set them to 2.4, I can't even set them below 1.7, it's like my phone deciding for it's own, WTF going on!
Hi.
I'm running LineageOS 20 on my F3.
In the thread of the OS, someone recently discovered that the quickest CPU-core (cpu7) wasn't ramping up to 3.2GHz, but rather to 2.8GHz (see https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...i-11x-redmi-k40.4418635/page-37#post-88455155 and beyond).
Somewhere, recently, this issue has been fixed, with multiple people (including myself) reporting that cpu7 spikes up to 3.2GHz on occasion.
Now.... that sounds nice and all.... howeverrrrr.....
Right after a bootup, my device does properly spike up to 3.2, but, at some point it will no longer do that.... rather back to 2.8, 2.4 and I've even seen 1.3GHz as the max on cpu7.
My suspicion is that it's related to the device having been throttled at some point.
Me playing a couple of minutes of Pokemon Go tends to warm up the device enough to get it throttling. Afterwards, even when cooled down again, the device won't ever get back up to 3.2, not unless I reboot anyway.
Any thoughts, or even better: fixes? Thanks!
In some roms you have to set the battery usage of each app to the performance/benchmark setting. And in newer versions of miui you can set battery mode to performance in settings. That allows full cpu performance.
Otherwise the OS throttles the cores whenever it sees fit to do so.
