I've closed the thread and removed the link to your Youtube video as a random self-promotion link that's not complying with the last bullet of rule no. 5 of the XDA Forum Rules, to which you agreed to adhere when you registered six years ago.
Generally, we don't mind video clips as long as they support the content of a thread or post and provide additional information. Therefor, please advise the moderators team (best via the report function) to re-open the thread when ready to add a thorough description or synopsis of the video. Members should already be able to retrieve the essential information from the post without a requirement to visit Youtube. Thanks for your cooperation.

Question [CLOSED] Need Help

I'm being harassed by the government. They're using javascripting and google firebase apps on my phone. How do you extract all the code from a phone? I know I need a pc. What programs do I need and to get all the code from my system apps etc? I can figure it out. I just need someone who can point me in the right direction.

[CLOSED]When did XDA become so unuser friendly?

I been a member for a long time and I remember when there was cooperation, people willing to help, share what they knew and it was a upbeat atmosphere. It seems like now days everything you post is scrutinized, deleted, moderated to death. Do you know you can't even start a new thread about a new phone if it's not already on here? When I saw that I was like wow, you really got to "request" it to a moderator?! Then it's up to "them" if they choose to put it up or not. It just sounds bad. It's like there are a few Dev's, a few hackers and then some control freek moderators. Like hall monitors or crossing guards. I tried to share the hacked Samsung torrent in a few different Samsung phone rooms. All were deleted. Like that right there will help any and all samsung phone threads. There is pretty much all of Samsung's codes, security, and even manufacture tools for programming phones. Like a wealth of knowledge any dev would kill to get his or hers hands in. Instead of thanks or people trying to share this info they shut it down. So I again ask... WTF happened to XDA?

I wondered why I saw hardly any discussion of the Samsung source code leak on XDA anywhere. I'm still a bit puzzled about that. Is that a topic verboten? Do I have to resort to using Yandex to find information about it?

Edit or change of IMEI is illegal in quite a few of countries. For this reason, I've closed your thread! XDA doesn't allow and doesn't accept discussions about or support for such an edit or change.

Are Vanced and similar apps exceptions to the rule on Warez?

Just saw a post that was closed for violating Rule 6 on XDA:
6. Do not post or request warez.
If a piece of software requires you to pay to use it, then pay for it. We do not accept warez nor do we permit members to request, post, promote or describe ways in which warez, cracks, serial codes or other means of avoiding payment, can be obtained or used. This is a site of developers, i.e. the sort of people who create such software. When you cheat a software developer, you cheat us as a community.
In order to better understand and comply with rules of this forum, I would like to know in the larger interest of the community, how is the app referenced in the post linked above different from Vanced and all of its variations, which are probably one of the most downloaded apps in this forum?
1. Can mods/ staff make exceptions at their discretion?
2. Can subjectivity override written rules?

Please note that I'm personally against any form of tampering with original software that deprives the creator of their rightful income.
1. I always buy the Pro version (or in-app purchase) of apps that I like and use regularly.
2. I have two YouTube subscriptions, and yet I used Vanced/ Revanced because of the features they bring in (such as swipe gestures).

@TheMystic The XDA forum staff follows the internal policies of the private website - if required after an internal discussion. I'd be grateful for your understanding that the XDA staff doesn't make internal policies publicly available. The knowledge about the publicly posted XDA Forum Rules is sufficient to be able to comply with them as 99% of the XDA members daily prove.
If you're interested to learn more about internal policies and procedure, I suggest to apply as a forum moderator. The knowledge would be shared with you once accepted.
Generally, every member who was affected by a moderator action (like the closure of a thread) has the possibility to privately contact the respective moderator for further information like you personally did in the past.

Sure. This post isn't about the referenced post in particular (or its closure), but more so for general understanding of why one app is considered Warez, while another isn't if it has many of the same properties.
