Hello guys,
I rooted my device today, but after a module install (magisk-delta), magisk suddently showed, that it's not installed. Even tho root checker still shows I'm rooted. Is there any fix for this or I have to reinstall?
EDIT: Thanks to @bobfrantic reply, I managed to fully root it

Well, are you getting prompts to allow root access when an app requires root access?

Nope, just tried on Classic Power Menu app which requires root, no pop-ups or stuff anymore.
Well then you're probably not properly rooted and the first root method that confirmed you were is unreliable. It probably just checks if you have the magisk app installed and that's how it determines if you have root access.
Copy your AP_tar file (making sure to remove the .md5 extension) to your phone. Open magisk_delta and tap the top install and select patch a file. Browse to the AP_tar file you copied. Then click the lets go and wait for magisk_delta to do the patching. When done, it will put the patched file into your download folder on your internal partition. Copy that file back to computer. Using odin put the ap file in the ap slot. Put the BL and CP files in thier slots. Use the non home CSC which will wipe your current setup and you will start from scratch. (You may want to back up your phone with smart_switch before running odin.) Once setup first thing to do is reinstall magisk_delta and if it asks to reboot, do that. Once rebooted you should be fully rooted.

thanks for the help but the first link doesn't work
Which link? They work fine for me.
I got as far as step 23 in the 30 step process from XNeckFaceX but I don't see a option for select the USB-MS toggle, just the 6 wipe options. Should I have loaded the new rom flash first. I can't even power down or get out of the wipe menu. I am afraid if I remove the batt I could not reboot. What to do?

Hopefully by now you got through everything ok. If you are using Amon_Ra recovery, USB MS is on the main menu. Press both VolUP+DWN at the same time to go up a menu.

It doesn't get any easier than the Simple Root Guide. Try that one if you have trouble with any others.
All you do is download one zip file and run the EXE (making sure you have .NET framework and HTC sync installed first), click each button for each step. And done.

This usually means you need to enable USB debugging, step 2 didn't work, or you need to flash a custom ROM. To test root type "su" in a terminal. You should get "#" back. If you get that try enabling USB debugging or flashing a custom ROM. If you don't get that flash a custom ROM.
I DO NOT TAKE CREDIT FOR THE WORK. I ONLY TRANSLATED THE SCRIPTS TO ENGLISH .
I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE IF YOU BRICK OR BREAK YOUR FUJITSU.
I have managed to find a bat file which will allow you to root your F-02E japanese phone.
I have also found a script to allow system R/W made by kikuhare
Steps Involved:
Make sure your phone has 100% charge.
Download the Root + System Mount
Extract the zip's to different folders.
Enable USB debugging under Menu > Settings > Developer Options.
Point to the folder where you extracted drivers from "usb_driver_F-02E_1.0.zip". Wait for drivers to install.
Make sure the phone is connected as PTP not MTP.
CMD into the folder "f-02e_oneclick_su_installer". It is inside the "Root + System Mount_1" files folder.
Run the runme.bat.
Download "Root Checker by joeykrim" from the Play Store.
Run the "Root Checker" app
Wait for the process to finish.
UPDATE System R/W
Connect phone to computer
Download the System Read Write Mounter_1.zip <<<<<< Only need to download if you did not download the "Root + System Mount_1.zip" file.
CMD into the "F-02E_system-mounter" It is inside the "Root + System Mount_1" files folder.
Extract the file and run the"START.bat"
Run everytime the system restarts to mount system as R/W.
Enjoy root .
NOTE: This method does not give full root permissions. You will still be able to underclock the CPU to some degree and use the CoreControl app to disable cores. I will have to run start.bat inside F-02E_system-mounter folder everytime the phone restarts to get system R/W
Drivers: usb_driver_F-02E_1.0.zip
Root Includes System Mount: Root + System Mount_1.zip
System R/W Mounter: System Read Write Mounter_1.zip

No, not enough developers and interest for the phone outside Japan. I doubt anyone will be willing to put in effort as well
Oh well, but it is a very good phone, i think ill still get it though. I just wanted to know is half of it in Chinese even if you select english, i just heard this on youtube about another one of fujitsu's phones?

Only Docomo and Fujistu apps are in Japanese. Everything else is in English.
Thats fine i suppose with root explorer i can delete those apps by deleting the apk in system app? Also if you have xposed app settings you can change the language per app would that also work?

I have just frozen them, just incase if the phone needs the at somepoint. Xposed framework doesnt work as it need system R/W and the root method has not allowed system R/W mainly because the phone bootloader not unlocked. Secondly make sure you do not uninstall/disable the Phonebook and Phonebook Service provided by Docomo. Its key to allowing you to add and sync contacts.
So Xposed wont work at all then, thats a shame what about lucky patcher, does that need R/W?

Improved the .bat file. Now you will have system R/W
Download the root file again and run it. Follow the steps starting at 10 if you have already rooted. :good:
Thanks

I have not been able to overcome the issue. It is a design issue. Because it is waterproof phone the heat cannot disperse.
The only thing I have been able to do is keep the CPU frequency down to lower the time it takes for the phone to heat up.

What does it, when you run the root file?
Could you also tell your build number. Is it VR17xxx or VR16xxx?
Hi,
I am going to unlock my Arc S BL. I read many here, but need some clarifications:
My goal is to have XUHD 5.0.1 with suggested kernel (Lupus). Right now I have XUHD 3 (with mod), phone is rooted (I did it somehow:laugh. It got slow and buggy after a while, so I need to refresh it totally.
THE PLAN:
1. Unlock BL using SE Bootloader Unlocking v1.6 by quangnhut123 (seems easier for a newbie than "sony" way, not mentioning the test point one).
2. Using the same tool flash LuPuS Kernel Stock.
Now to be confirmed: All I have to do is to enter IMEI and select file LuPuS_anzu_Stock-iCsv16-full.img. Done?
What would I get after that? Shell I turn on the phone as usual (and it is supposed to run as normal, maybe fresh)?
Should I remove my SD card while doing steps 1-2? Is the contentt of the SD card erased after the process?
Gaps - totally new to me - should I do something with them?
3. Flash the ROM. Well I did it earlies and it worked, so I believe when I will get confirmatoion of above I might succeed.
To be confirmed: to "make phone as new" - what pratition should I wipe? I am going to backup everything possible earlier.
I would like to add my own ringtone. How to do that? (I was told it can be done after installing ROM - via CWM - need suggestions...)
Do I miss something? Do I have to check anything before I start (dont want to finish with not working device...)
Any help would be VERY appreciated.
big thanks in advance.

That is the "sony" way but all the process is done with this app. You lose same features as with the "sony" way.

You get unlocked bootloader, custom kernel installed. When you have installed the custom kernel, enter Recovery (press Volume Down button many times during kernel boot logo), wipe the necessary partitions (depends on the ROM) and install new ROM.

Not necessary. No SD Data is touched during this process. Unlocking bootloader though does remove all data from your phone inside (not SD), so make backups if necessary.

Gapps stand for Google Apps. They are only required, if you install non-stock based ROM (CyanogenMod aka CM or any other).

For most ROMs, you need to wipe /data, /cache and /system. Non-stock based may require you to not wipe /system.

If it is on your SD card, your phone can find it. Alternatively, you can put it to /system/media/audio/ringtones folder with any file explorer, that can edit system directory (I personally use ES File Explorer).

The reason to put it to device memory instead of card one it that when phone is connected to PC in mass storage mode it switches the default ringtone (phone does not have acces to the card)
Well, I did try copy to devuce filesystem, but I get Read Only file system warning, no files copied. I used ES with root permission. I was told it can be done by flashing, but dont know how to do that..

I backed up all I needed. I started SE Bootloader Unlockin Tool, but after I enter my IMEI and hit Get Unlock Code the text-area where the code should appear chnaged color to light-gray only, and nothing more.
I am running win764 if matters...
Should I proceed as told? (hit unlock BL even if Unlock code is not displayed?
I sould I get the code via http://unlockbootloader.sonymobile.com/, paste it and than proceed?

Hi, im new here and i need help. i've tried posting in the ARHD thread but the system informed me that im not allowed yet to post there. so here's my problem:
see, ive flashed my phone with ARHD V30 and used an app called root checker to see if my device is rooted which it positively verified so, that my phone is rooted. but when i tried to paste some files in the system/usr/keylayout, my phone informed me that said folder was read-only. so i tried using android commander, but to no avail. i tried checking my phone status using android commander and it showed that my phone is not rooted. did i do something wrong when i was flashing arhd? or do i need to root my phone again? if yes, can you point me in the right direction. im on ND3 BL btw. and i habe super su installed and twrp as my custom recovery. thanks!

I have 4.6.4 AT&T OS and I want to downgrade to 4.6.3 unlock OS. In recovery mode the phone is connected with computer, I see serial number and "sideload" next, the update.bin file is in ADB folder, but at next step I get the message
"cannot read update.bin" . I run Win 10 on computer, I try also on Win 7, same problem. I downloaded
4.6.3 unlock OS first with Microsoft Edge, it has .zip extension, then downloaded with Chrome it came with .bin extension, neither one work. Any ideas ? Because I ran out.
That sounds confusing and frustrating. Where did you get the .bin from? I downloaded the one linked in this post and had no problems: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=62768812&postcount=2
You definitely want a .bin file, not a zip (the .bin should be around 1.2gb). There's also the distinct possibility that ADB is improperly installed. If that's the case, there should be more info in that link that will help you.
In my signature, I link to a walkthrough describing everything I did to get my phone downgraded, rooted, etc. Maybe take a look and see if you missed any steps.

I downloaded 4.6.3 OS from 3-4 diffrent links from forum including that in your post, also direct from amazon. With Microsoft Edge, Internet Explorer the file is downloaded with .zip, no matter the link I used, so I thought that's the problem so I used Mozzila and Chrome, it came with .bin extension. The .bin file seems to be ok, I can open and extract folders and files from it with WinRAR so it's not corrupt.
About ADB, I read before how to deal with it, seems to work correctly, I can connect the phone in windows with phone on, also in recovery mode the phone appear sideload like it should. So at this point I don't no what to do.

Microsoft Edge and Internet Explorer downloaded the 4.6.3 update as a zip file for me also. I've had the same error (cannot read update.bin) once when trying to sideload an update.bin. I never could figure out what the problem was, so I downgraded my phone using Safestrap. It is not recommended that you use Safestrap to update or downgrade your phone, but a few people including me have updated or downgraded their phone with Safestrap without any problems.
You will need to root your phone if you want to use Safestrap for the downgrade:
See Installing Root, Safestrap, CM11 for how to root and install Safestrap on your phone. You do not need to install CM11.
Launch Safestrap and select Install Recovery.
Download the 4.6.3 flashable-stock-image you will need for the downgrade and put the file on your phone.
Power your phone off, then power it back on.
When Safestrap starts, select RECOVERY> Install>
Browse to and select ss_update-fire-phone-35.4.6.3_user_463001620.zip.
Swipe to the right Swipe to Confirm Flash.
When the flash is complete, select Reboot System> CONTINUE>.
If you don’t want your phone rooted, launch Safestrap and uninstall Recovery, launch Kingroot and unroot your phone. I would also do a factory reset.
Edited to add: To unroot Kingroot 4.0, launch Kinguser, tap gear icon> Root authorization settings> Remove Root permission> Clear>. For Kingroot 4.5, launch Kingroot, tap gear icon> Root authorization settings> Remove Root permission> Continue> OK>. Manually uninstall any Kingroot apps that are still installed on your phone.

Thank you for your reply, I read about root/safestrap method but initially I did not want to root the phone.
Now seems to be the only choice, so thank you for info about this.
If you just type "adb devices" on the PC with the phone connected, do you see the phone? If not, then you have a driver issue. If that is the issue, the Amazon Dev. Service "Connecting your device" page may help.
Yes, at adb devices command the phone appear with serial number........ sideload. Appear connected whith phone on, I can copy on it and also in recovery mode after "apply update from ADB" . I belive that's not the problem.
I'm having the same problem. Cannot read update.bin when trying to sideload 4.6.3.

I have had the exact same problem when trying to install the 4.6.3 update (cannot read update.bin), I had to use Safestrap to downgrade my phone. When you downloaded the update, was the extension a .bin or a .zip? When you say "it still doesn't work", do mean Safestrap doesn't work as well?

I've been trying to do this through stock recovery. The file extension was .bin retrieved from Amazon's website.
I'm not interested in using Safestrap.

Yep. Can't figure this out at all. Most adb commands are working fine. ADB kill-server. ADB start-server. ADB devices. ADB reboot recovery.
Its just the ADB sideload that gets the error. Cannot read update.bin.
I'm starting to think this is WIN 10 ****ing with me.

OK, should you find a solution to the "cannot read update.bin", please post how you was able to fix the problem, your fix may help others. From an internet search, I see the most common reason for the "cannot read . . ." error is the file has a double extension of .zip.zip, bin.bin, or bin.zip.

Maybe a stupid question- But did you change the name of the downloaded bin file to "update.bin"?
Years later, but maybe it'll help. For me, it was a combo of WIndows and Bitdefender: Under properties of the update file, it said access was blocked due to the file being from another PC - checking the box there and disabling Bitdefender (only one at a time didn't help) solves the issue.

Hi, I found out your computer may block files that appears to be malicious. See this thread for information on how to unblock it.
Got it to work
I was having the same problem. I kept getting the message" cannot read file"
I was able to get it to work by typing "adb sideload" and then dragging the file in the command window right behind "adb sideload". the string will look like this
"PS C:\Users\Ryan\Desktop> adb sideload C:\Users\Ryan\Desktop\update.bin.bin
and then press enter.
