Question Notifications delayed - Google Pixel 6 Pro

Hi Everyone,
Noticed all my notifications are delayed meaning that I receive them only when I open the apps (gmail, whatsapp etc.).
I disabled on purpose the battery optimisation for both apps but it did not resolve the problem.
Also observed, also noticed if I leave my phone for 10-20min locked, then I see the notifications, but after x minutes, it feels it goes into very deep sleep mode disabling all notifications (to be confirmed).
Checked few recommendations on google and XDA but could not find any relevant solution, therefore it might be a related issue with the pixel itself ?
Running A12 (5th feb 2022) & kernel radio active.
Open to any suggestions, thanks for your help !

Issues with notifications, late or don't recieve

I have been using the phone for about a week, running the latest version. I have noticed a lot of times I am not receiving notifications properly or consistently. My phone is pretty notification busy, so I notice when I'm missing things.
I came from a Nexus 5 phone running Lollipop, so this is my first experience with Marshmallow. I have a feeling these notification issues are due to the new power saving / deep sleep features in 6.0.
Here are the issues I've noticed so far.
- Hangounts : received notification for hangout message (not sms), opened app and it said "received 10 minutes ago". Phone was in my pocket, hadn't looked at it for a few hours.
- Ebay : no outbid notification, was outbid overnight when my phone was not plugged in and left on my desk.
- Life360 : Was not showing up on the map for location tracking when checking from another device. I opened the app on my phone and it reconnected. This happens consistently.
- Sleep Cycle: Alarm does not go off if the phone is not plugged in to a power source. When I unlock the phone in the morning, the alarm starts ringing (even though it's late).
- BaconReader : No message notifications until I open the app, or late notifications (delayed over an hour).
- CSipSimple : SMS messages are not received when phone is left overnight (this is a IP phone with SMS messaging through an SIP provider, all data related).
Email seems consistently good, which is nice. Social media apps I haven't noticed an issue yet, but I'm not really busy using those.
I tried re-installing some apps. I've also tried setting the app notification settings under app settings such as "Treat as priority", "Allow peeking", and "Wake".
Any one else? Any recommendations?
I searched and found:
Email notifications and touch screen problems after Dec update.
Missing SMS Notifications
have you restored some of those apps from a backup of your old phone? if yes, consider a fresh install of those.
else, try turning off doze for those troublemakers, maybe restart your phone, and see what happens during an appropriate amount of time. do this by going to settings -> battery -> top right corner menu -> optimisation.
I did restore the apps from backup. Some that were causing issue I did uninstall and reinstall, configure form scratch, no help.
I'll try turning off battery optimization for some of the apps and see if that helps. Thanks for the tip.
Those are all side effects of Doze - in some cases (Sleep Cycle) it sounds like the it hasn't been updated to use the API23 AlarmManager calls that should work with Doze. Hangouts should have worked - I'd be surprised if its not using Google Cloud Messaging which is Doze exempt.
Exempting apps from battery optimisation doesn't fully exempt them from all Doze restrictions but it's worth a try as it might help. It does allow apps to keep network connectivity which is likely key for Life360, Ebay and CSipSimple.
I would contact the Devs of all the apps to alert them their app isn't working properly on Marshmallow
Exempting Sleep Cycle in the battery saver allowed the alarm to work when I didn't have it plugged into a charger. I'll email the developer.
I've added exemptions to the battery saver for all apps that I use where I would never want them to decide to go to sleep. Everything seems better now, I haven't noticed any missed notifications since.
I hope hangouts was a fluke, I would also agree it should work properly...

push notifications issue

Hey guys weird problem I'm nearly always having this problem on most ROMs
Its like my push notifications don't work after I leave my phone sleep for a certain period of time and then when i unlock my phone after this certain period of time all the notifications from any app comes through.
I know this was a problem that was "supposedly" fixed on a community build but I'm pretty sure it wasn't ,
A lot of people have this problem and unfortunately I'm also one of them.
Its only now its starting to get annoying as I missed an important msg
Is this not a doze issue? You can exclude apps from doze by adding them to the ignore optimisation.

How do you do that I'm on cyanogenmod 14.1
I also have this issue. Disabling Doze fixes it but then battery life becomes poor. I'm currently testing Greenify and its Aggressive Doze mode, but seems that's not a solution...
Not working no matter what I do

No push notifications from idle apps

Helllo there!
Since a long time, I am experiencing issue with push notifications on my device. Especially when an app is not used for few days, the notifications stops appearing from the app. The frequently used app are displaying notifications.
Is it common? Anyone experiencing this? Is there a setting which I can change to get this fixed?
Tired searching the forum but could not find any info.
This was happening when I was running OxygenOS 4.1.6 and even after recently upgrading to Open Beta 20, the problem still exists.
Any info would be helpful.
Thanks!
Turn off the Battery Optimization for the apps... it is part of Android's "Doze" functionality.
I had this issue when I chose "deep clear" in recent app management and cleared the tasks. After switching to "normal clear", and re-starting apps everything started working as normal again.

No notifications?

I got my MI6 a few days ago and I am quite happy with it. I am still running it on 8.2.2.0 global. The only thing that is not working properly is that the notifications, especially Whatsapp and Threema don't give me any kind of notifications and the messages just show up when I open the app itself. Is there any setting I have to do so I get all the notifications?
Ok, that's caused by the battery optimization of the MIUI.
Follow this steps:
Open the "Security App"
Tap on "Permissions"(the third icon on the second row)
Tap on "Autostart"
Tap on the slider next to the app you want to enable Autostart for
If that's not enough, do this:
Open the "Security App"
Tap on "Battery"(the first icon on the second row)
Tap on "App battery saver"
Choose the app you want to disable battery saver for and choose "No restrictions"
Very cool, thanks for your answer! Now I am getting annoyed again by all the notifications
With the newest global stable miui 9 I have the probleme that the phone goes into deep doze mode (what is normally desirable) after ~45 -75 minutes but so nearly no GCM notifications come through (except whatsapp, pushbullet and hangouts I noticed so far).
I tried all the steps above and different configurations in the developer settings. But the notifications only arrive when I turn the screen on or move the phone.

For this you have to completely disable MIUI for all apps and then from the developer options.
With Global 8.5.0 stable I noticed that a few apps give delayed notifications (all optimations off) eg Twitter, Instagram, live score apps etc. Messenger like Whatsapp, Telegram and Hangouts work.
Notifications come instantly when I turn on the screen or they come up to 10 minute late.
Maybe someone has got a tipp...

Disable MIUI optimisations from developer settings.
Or upgrade to MIUI 9/10
10 didn't have this problem when I tested with miui optimisations on or off.
Custom ROMs don't have this issue. It is just the MIUI battery saver killing services in the background which is optimised for China and so it often kills google services.
They seem to have resolved this from 9 onwards
Ah sorry, wrong information I m using 9.5.8.0 stable and the bug I described is since 2 weeks Made a factory reset but no changes. There weren't any big updates so it seems it has to do with googles changes in framework, gcm (fcm) and so on. Maybe here is somebody who uses also the 9.5.8.0 global stable and noticed something like I do with some (non messenger) apps.
After upgrading to Miui 10 global version and updatet to newest play services the probleme I described is still there.
Does anybody else use the global version and observed also a kind of delayed notifications?

It has happend to me too (after miui 10 update) you can go to each apps settings, for example whatsapp, and enable everything under notifications for EVERY notification available for that app, i trully wish xiaomi would make it like almost every other android phone manufacturer who keep the notifications just like the freaking stock android way...
Okay. That means you will get notifications you don't want?

Question I can't receive notifications on my Xiaomi K40 smartphone

Hi guys,
I recently bought the new Xiaomi K40 Gaming smartphone.
MIUI version: 12.5.8
Android 11
I am still setting it up, but one of the things I can't get to work are the notifications.
I am not receiving notifications from my apps (Twitter, YouTube, Yahoo mail, gmail, facebook, Fotmob etc)
Even if I get notifications they come only when I open the app or in some rare cases when I leave the app open under my menu/recents
- I have trippled checked and the apps are set to give notifications.
- I have set the app to autostart.
- I also made sure that battery saver for the app is on "No restriction"
- I have cleared cache severally, restarted the phone so many times
- Uninstalled and reinstalled the app
Yet I am still not getting consistent notifications.
Can anyone help me troubleshoot this
Note: I didn't perform any extra setting and I wasn't having any problems with notifications on my previous phone - Huawei Nova 2 Plus.
Please can anybody help me

As far as I remember, you need to disable battery optimization in general or for the app.
Sadly I don't remember the specifics but that should be easy to explore online.
make sure battery saver is off as well even though you no restrictions if battery saver is on it will over rule that and keep things from running the BG like if the battery falls below 90% if you enable developer options make sure background running apps is set to standard limit and if that still don't work install a custom rom like Arrow my favorite..

I have done this and I am still not getting notifications
I am having the same problem and I turned everything did all that need to be done and still nothing did you get a solution for this
Same here , notifications only appear when i open the app , i mean what kind of battery saving or optimization which silence messaging notifications without a clear option toggle , if there is anything lead to preventing notifications MIUI should made it clear for the user .. so frustrating
Try in settings / accounts and notifications / Automatic data sync
