Question Gcam android 12 - Samsung Galaxy Z Fold3

Has anyone got Gcam working on Android 12?
I must admit, I never tried it when my phone was on a11.

crashes several times, but the standard app can do all the things the Gcam can do, even the bokeh etc....
so no need anymore

Shame. I think the Samsung camera app over processes the images.

Gcam with locked bootloader?

Hi - longtime flasher but Xiaomi-newb here.
Is there any way to get a working gcam on the RN5 (global; MIUI 9.5.13.0) with a still locked bootloader?
From what I've read, Gcam on the RN5 needs enabled camera2 api - which needs either root or TWRP - both of which need the bootloader to be unlocked (which will take 15 days).
Any way around this or speeding up the bootloader-unlocking (all the old tricks seem not to work any longer)? I'll be travelling in a couple of days and would really like a working GCam by then
TIA!

Older versions of google camera works fine in Redmi note 5 pro with locked bootloader without modification to system files
I have tested these apk
https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google-inc/camera/camera-4-1-006-135988111-release/
Without HDR mode
https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google-inc/camera/camera-2-7-008-release/
With HDR Mode
These doesn't have portrait and slow motion video option but it has lens burn option and also 4k video is available in these apps
Thanks SunilSuni for the quick help.
I can confirm both linked Gcams working with a locked bootloader :good:
Photosphere also works on both, Video does not work on 4.1 (FC), but does work on 2.7.
Thanks again!

Yiu can compare HDR images.. google camera takes better images with HDR enabled compare to stock camera
Not sure about that. I took a couple shots to compare, they are mostly the same. Sometimes there are slight differences, but they seem to favor randomly Gcam or StockCam.
More time to play around next week - thanks again!

Stock camera app after January 2019 update

Hi, I re-enabled the camera2 API after the latest security patch released a couple of days ago and started playing around again with the various Google Camera ports to find the best one(s). Comparing photos between the stock camera app and the ones with Google Camera I can't find big differences anymore.
Differences were HUGE before the update, both on details and on general quality (especially in low-light environments). Now the quality of the stock camera (com.android.camera version 2.0) seems to be very near to the Google Camera. Maybe is it using camera2 API, if available? Or am I crazy?

I think you're crazy Stock app doesn't use Cam2API. Your issue might be related to focus issues on Gcam. Try 16:9 on Photo Mode then take a photo, so you might see the difference :good:

No man, the focus issue unfortunately persists I've decided to delete root and use the pure stock android for a while.

Which version google camera do you use?
I use arnova 8.3b1 and arthur's latest version.
I'm not facing focus problem.
What is your patch version?

To be honest, I've tried to get the OTA and install it through Magisk, as described in many guides, but it didn't work (boot loop), so I did a factory reset and reinstalled Camera2 with this guide, with the hope to avoid this problem with the next OTA: https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-a2-lite/how-to/guide-how-to-enable-camera2-api-t3851414

GCam port

Has anyone successfully installed the GCam port in here? https://www.cyanogenmods.org/galaxy-note-10-lite-google-camera-apk/ The stock camera is not so great.

This one installs and opens but the quality is bad, understandable since the port is too old.
The cyanogenmod website one doesn't open (crashes after the permissions). https://www.cyanogenmods.org/galaxy-note-10-lite-google-camera-apk/
Do you see the color bleed? All the purple flowers bled like this in my recent trip photos!
It works!

Yes, I am using it on my Note 10 Lite running on OneUI 2.0. It works, but I don't remember if it needs some change in settings to show the view finder properly.
I got significantly better images than the original camera using the Gcam port available on this website: https://koopahtmaniac.com/
However I couldn't get the front camera to work for photos, however it worked for videos.

It's just modern looking only the ui is updated, it's no better then gcam5 in terms of pic, idk about the video part, and video for front camera didn't work for me, front camera isn't being detected by the app?
And nightime is better on stock camera.
Samsung has the worst gcam

The issue of poor performance of GCam ports on Samsung devices is more related to the use of Exynos processors than the brand itself. I had a Galaxy S9 (snap 845) and the GCam performance available to it was excellent. However, the fact that Samsung keeps the device drivers closed is something that certainly gets in the way.
On Andorid 11, tried gcam it didn't even open and the stock camera stopped working too. Uninstalling the gcam got it to work after a reboot. It has a horrible camera, the reviews are either paid for or were made by fanboys. Any wayaround?
ZGcam somewhat works. Does anyone have a specific config for Note 10 Lite?

crashes, I tried both.
Just leaving my comment here so i hear if there is any activity here, I tried all of the BSG and urlyk builds but viewfinder freezes after 3 seconds. Bummer, camera is really great, but falls apart in night shots
Yes same experience here. viewfinder freezes after 3 seconds. tried almost 20 different gcam from different modders. it just freezes. hopefully soon we see the working one.
Same here hopefully someone figures out how to stop it from freezing!
Try selecting Session of photo modes as EISv3/61448 or even EISv2/61444 for main lens, it might work. Try on other lenses too see if works. Of course, use a GCam that has this option, like BSG.
This works on A52s which is a new Samsung phone with similar issues as Z fold 3, such as GCam viewfinder freezing and camera not working at all while bootloader is unlocked.
Maybe these two issues regarding cameras are related!

Thanks for the suggestion, but unfortunately it didn't work - tried both session modes.
The search continues...
It is possible that it doesn't work because of proprietary code for the under screen camera that Samsung has might just break any other app.
Don't quote me here, as I'm still looking into the whole camera situation, but I do know that there is specific code implemented for the USC in order to make photos look acceptable with a pixel layer over it.
OK, so far the only one I can get to work is the gcam go versions like https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/android/google-camera/f/changelog1529/
But they are have basically no features worth installing for. But they don't freeze, so I guess it would be a starting point...

Question OOS 11 camera for AOSP

I don't have any fc... To get rid of the black screen install google photos
Due to the fact that OOS 12 is now coloros 12, many will switch to aosp. , this question is very relevant! Gcam is good. But video is best with a stock camera.
