[Question] ZTE Blade V 20 Smart Unlocking & Flashing - Upgrading, Modifying and Unlocking

This ZTE Blade V 20 Smart has the MTK6771 64 bit chipset. I have managed to get the bootloader unlocked, but I cannot get TWRP to flash, and I can't get the Magisk patched boot.img to flash either. I have tried using both fastboot commands and SPFT. When looking at the stock ROM back up, there are two files for boot that is just a regular "boot.img," and the other is labelled as "verified boot.img." The recovery uses two files listed similarly as well. So my question is, when running fastboot do I need to flash my custom .img files to boot_a.img and boot_b.img, as well as do the same for the recovery.img?

what version of your firmware?

[Q] Flash through Fastboot

Long story short. I'm rooted and unlocked. Stuck at google screen after flashing Francos 14.4 for the wrong version
I've got the stock kernel i just need a way to flash it to the phone. Any help is greatly appreciated
put the phone in bootloader, open up a terminal and use
fastboot flash boot boot.img
if you have the stock kernel as a .img that is
adb isnt recognizing my device as being there
You don't use adb when your phone is in bootloader, you use fastboot.
im not sure im following you
Your thread title says "flashing through fastboot"..
Download a stock image, which will include the stock kernel if you haven't already. If your stock kernel is in the form "boot.img" then you are fine. If not, you need to find a boot.img.
Put the boot.img file in the same folder that you have your fastboot file in.
In terminal, CD into the folder that your fastboot file is in.
Hold volume and power and put your phone in bootloader mode. Use the command
fastboot flash boot boot.img
this will flash the stock kernel you downloaded as long as it is in the form of boot.img.
There's a toolkit for all this

[Q] boot.img, recovery.img, Backup Lollipop

Hello,
I am looking for HTC Desire 816 Single SIM a5_ul:
boot.img and recovery.img for 1.60.401.1 (if it's important I have EastEurope)
Backup of newest version: Lollipop a5_ul.
I had a big problems with update so I tried to flash boot.img and recovery.img from newest OTA. Sadly, I can't launch my phone, I have one boot and next my phone is going to recovery. I have no idea how to fix it, so I think that back my boot.img can solve my problem.
Now I haven't a phone, so it's very important for me to fast reply.
Boot.img is the same for all variants?
Solution of problem:
- download ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/desire-816/development/26-nov-svhd-v1-0-0-t2953661
- open archive
- copy boot.img
- past into fastboot folder
- reboot phone into fastboot mode and connect to pc
- commend: fastboot flash boot boot.img
- reboot phone
But now I had a problem that I can't install update to Lollipop... Do you have stock recovery for EE version?
stock recovery EU 1.60 https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B_TNjOKpULbAUGVkWGJfclhjYU0/view?usp=sharing
This is version for EU, but in Poland we have EE (East Europe)
I have a red info "That build is..."
I think I have a wrong boot.img because still I have red triangle after 25%. Do you know what is the problem?
Now I understand what I need. I need boot.img from European version wich is in backup of original soft! Sadly I haven't this file (my HDD with it is damaged) so can anyone past here link to boot.img from his backup? European, 1.60.401.1

If I am on stock recovery and unlocked bootloader, is it possible to root my phone without twrp by flashing magisk zip in stock recovery?

No. Stock recovery will only flash images & zips from OnePlus.
Stock recovery only works with officially signed files from OnePlus.
If you already went through the trouble of unlocking the bootloader then flashing a custom recovery is very easy and straightforward. Otherwise you might as well relock the bootloader.
Theoretically it is possible with MAGISK (even with locked bootloader) but it didn't work for me...
Steps:
1. Extract the boot.img from stock rom zip
2. Patch with Magisk Manager
3. Rename the patched one to boot.img and replace in stock Rom zip
4. Flash the zip in stock revovery
Unluckily I finish with a "Installation failed" error
Did anybody managed this with 5.02 rom and locked bootloader. I got told that for older stock rom it was possible

No, no, no...
What you do is that you let the Magisk Manager patch the stock boot image (as in 1 & 2 above). Then you use fastboot to flash the patched image to your device. No custom recovery needed...
Code:
fastboot flash boot patched_boot.img
Your bootloader has to be unlocked though.

With fastboot I also tried without success. As you told, it is required that the bootloader is unlocked.

as all other 1+ phones, to unlock bootloader is 1 line of command prompt
You need android platform tools (instead of adb minimal)
once you unlocked the bootloader you have to flash a custom recovery (there is the payload dumper tool to extract them directly from the zip you are going to flash)
If you are already on latest firmware, i think you don't need flashing firmware, in any case, it's just a batch to be executed from recovery (the crDroid ones are good) to be flashed once

Thanks for the reply. I am unlocked and rooted and on twrp recovery. I learned to extract the crdroid firmware flasher and execute the .bat file to flash firmware I think to both slots like back in the oneplus 6t days I then wiped and sideloaded the custom rom.
