Hi,
Have just bought a T-Mobile Note 3 on prepaid and plan to use it to access my company emails (we've just made the switch from Blackberry's to something called mymobile, we bring our own phone and SIM, company gives access to Exchange), the restriction is, the device can't be rooted or modified in any way. I know that, even an unrooted Note 3, flashed to stock gets caught out - the set-up stops with a message saying The Device is Compromised - the dreaded KNOX counter is almost definitely what the secure email access (MobileIron is the name, not sure if its a mainstream app for purely a corporate tool) app looks up.
The question is, is it possible to flash the T-mbile note 3 with a standard international ROM - I don't really have any use for WI-FI calling and stuff and could do without the T_Mobile bloatware.
Regards.
Rizwan
My wife just got a Verizon Note 4 to replace her slowly dying Note 2. She doesn't use it in a business environment, so she neither needs nor wants Knox anywhere it (obviously she can't get rid of the bootloader lock, but she doesn't want the Knox service or the app). She can force stop the service, but it comes back.
Since she got the phone, she's been getting notifications telling her to take security updates. She's concerned, of course, that they'll turn on Knox, make it more intrusive, or something, so she won't take them. But they come up pretty frequently, and are annoying as heck.
We found instructions for uninstalling Knox Personal on a Jellybean device (http://www.samsung.com/us/support/howtoguide/N0000005/13093/159642), but it involves actually running the Knox app, going into Help -> About, and choosing Uninstall. Naturally, she's loathe to do that - it feels wrong and unsafe to run the very app you want to get rid of in order to uninstall it. Plus these instructions are specifically for JellyBean and the Note 3, not KitKat and the Note 4.
So ... does anyone know what the reality is?
Be interested in this too. I keep getting that stupid request to turn on some secure blah blah. Wth is up with that?

I believe you could disable the security notification by go into settings-> security->security policy update and uncheck auto update.
No, unfortunately it's already set to not update.

Hi
I can't find call and text on other devices on my T-Mobile tab S7+, and phone app missing too.
It was good on my old Tab S6 but can't find anymore on S7....
Thanks
I suspect if you have an S7/S7+ with mobile data, it has its own phone number and what not. As a result, you may not be able to call/text from another device since your device itself has its own number. I may be wrong, but that seems like the logical answer. Have you tried turning mobile data off or somehow disabling it? Maybe take the SIM card out if you can (not sure if it's an ESIM).
If the above statement isn't true, I would say factory reset it if you haven't already. If you still encounter the issue, I'd talk to Samsung/T-Mobile about it. Personally, the ability to call/text from the tablet while my phone is away is a huge selling point for me as I don't have to take out my phone much anymore.
Good luck, and let us know what happens. I'm sure there will be someone else that encounters this issue.
Was your Tab S6 a U.S. carrier version? The U.S. carriers disable not only what you're looking for but the native dialer and MMS as well. I got my Tab S7+ 5G from the EU and it has Call and Text on Other Devices. I'm using it between by Z Fold 2 and Tab S7+. It doesn't affect the Tab S7+'s ability to use it's own phone number; it just adds the option of using either device for calls and MMS.

I might be wrong on this, but the way I understand it is that the feature links the devices via Samsung Cloud. So the only device that needs a number would be the phone. It shouldn't matter whether the other devices have one or not as they should still work independently.
I know this is an old thread, but...
This feature was present on the S6 LTE version, so there should be no reason for it not to be available here. The S7 (non-plus) 5G also has this enabled on T-Mobile, so again - no good reason for the S7+ not to have it.
You are right about the Samsung account - both devices have to be logged into the same account for the feature to work.
The dialer app is present, but not able to be activated.
I have the Samsung tab S7 plus 5G by Verizon. I have a SIM card installed and the representative of Verizon that I talked to told me that it's just for data.
I was very upset. because I encountered the same thing no phone app no text app the Google phone app on Google play is incompatible with my device.
I use Google voice app for Wi-Fi call and texting.

I haven't used Google Voice for a bit but it's it possible to have the calls FROM you to someone else appear to have your phone's number or caller ID?
I fixed this and got it fully working. Here's the thread....
I got Call and Text from other devices working on Tab S7+ 5G (at least on Tmobile)
I got call and text from other devices working on my Tmobile Tab S7+ 5G. It's super easy. All you need to do is install the apk below because apparently, all we were missing was the app. That's literally all I did. WARNING: Just be warned as...

So for the past several generation of Samsung phones I have been using Alliance Shield X to get into the IMS settings to turn on all the RCS features. But for someone reason with the Fold3 it is not able to access it.
anyone else tried?
If you mean RCS for sms app. Then it's up to ISP you use if they support RCS. You can't use RCS on a provider that does not support it.
ATT supports it. I used it on my S21+ and S20 and so worth. But for some reason Alliance Shield X won't open the IMS app. While on my S21/20 phones it works fine.

Had no issues with a Verizon variant. Unlocked firmware or carrier?

like I said above I have been using the Alliance Shield X methods since a S20 then S21 but now the Fold3 isn't budging.

Are you able to get the chat settings to show up in settings? That's as far as I can get.
They didn't remove the ability to access the IMS settings you see in Google Phone, they just changed how to access them. I used an application called Alliance Sheild X. But I'm sure you can use ANY app that can launch app activities.
kroger feed schedule
I was able to get in and enable the settings, however I don't see any changes in the Messages app unfortunately. Anyone else have luck? Verizon allows RCS, but if you have an unlocked phone bought from Samsung, they say tough luck. Other models have used Alliance Shield X to change IMS settings and found success.
Alliance shield had their Knox privileges revoked a few months back which is why it isn't working. Since OneUI 3.1, Samsung removed permissions to make changes to ims..
Apparently giving permission back via adb doesn't stick past a reboot, which would be fine but you need to reboot to get the ims settings to take effect.
Atm it seems the only way to change it is with root.

Their Knox privileges have been restored, but it seems now Samsung is the obstacle. It makes me wonder, why do they seem to punish people for buying directly from the manufacturer?
I'm using esim on my p6p and i never installed a sim card in it so why do I keep getting this notification?
Did you check out what the Device Unlock app had to say?
I can't find that app plus the device isn't unlocked, I'm still paying it off through TMobile and using it on TMobile esim
What does clicking on the notification do? Have you tried contacting T-Mobile about the issue?
Clicking it does nothing, haven't contacted TMobile yet. I didn't have this issue till I updated to 12L beta so idk if that has anything to do with it

Could be, and since 12L Beta 3 wouldn't be considered "supported" since it isn't stable, they probably couldn't help anyway. I didn't know you were on 12L at all. That's an important detail.

The T-Mobile Device unlock app (GOOGLE PIXEL ONLY) is available in the Google Play Store:
T-Mobile Device Unlock (Google - Apps on Google Play
Request a Mobile Device Unlock from T-Mobile without calling Customer Service
play.google.com
It should work on your device,as it does on mine w/Android 13 installed.
Mine is unlocked,so,I'm not sure what kind of messaging/code it will give you, guessing something related to the unlocked/still financed state of your phone.
FYI,if you're considering the temporary unlock option for B/L unlock status,I'm certain this is not sufficient for doing so.
If your main objective is to just simply make the notification go away permanently,IDK if there's anything accessible in Android 12L's settings for notifications to disable it.
Try long pressing on the notification,it may expand to present an option to silence this particular notification.
Also,is your phone otherwise working w/the e-SIM?
It appears so,as I see the LTE icon in your status bar........
