Does the quad dac work also with speakers? - LG G7 ThinQ Questions & Answers

Hi, as the title says I want to know if the quad dac feature works if I connect to a lg q7 e pair of speaker instead of earphones. Of course with the 3,5 mm jack and the speakers would be active. Thanks

No, you'd have to read what a DAC does to understand why speakers don't use it.

No way man, speakers do need a dac! Since they are active they don't need the amplifier...

3.5mm Stereo Headset volume

i love using my big over the head 3.5mm headphone but for some reason when i connect them to the tp2, it seems as if the sound police stopped by and took the sound away. Is their any part of the registry that is keeping the 3.5mm headset volume that low or are they always going to be that low?
Woa, Bro.First you tell me where you got that 3.5MM Rhodium!!! Please!! I am also using T-mobile.
i'm talking about the adapter

hi ricky, i use my tp2 through an miniUSB->3.5mm adapter, and it can drive my Sennheiser HD 555 without low volume problem... considering the headphone is quite big... *in term of size, load and impedance*
yet it doesn't sound as great as if i plug my Senn into builtin 3.5mm jack on my sex1... *an eargasm that is*
which Headphone you were using bro...?
alternatively, you have to use Coreplayer to play music since it has (digital) preamp capability, Menu -> Tools -> Preference -> Audio, there you can set your preamp gain you wanted.
hope it helps...
i use the G1s 3.5mm adapter & it doesn't work with my iPod headphones that have the mic on them. The volume is way too low as well.
Did a quick search and wanted to bump this topic. I am having the same problem with the built in 3.5mm jack (Telus CDMA). The speaker actually seems louder then the earphones. This is however just recent. So was wondering if another program may have over written some reg settings and if so, where I would check to change them back and/or boost the audio out. P.S. I am aware of Core Player Pre-amp and the Audio booster and these are not the problem or solution I am looking for
Thanks for any feedback

Mine works just fine, surprisingly
I'm no expert, but I think that these devices don't have the power to drive large over the head headphones. The where designed with in-ear phones in mind I'm sure.
Portable players benefit from portable amps to drive over the head headphones.
Either get some earphones or a portable amp.
BTW my Shure SE530 are very loud with my Tilt 2 and sound great.

Earphone/Earbud suggestion.

Any minimal price earphone suggestion?that i can hear the power of a quad dac audio.
I have apple earpod which is 45ohm.I read somewhere 50ohm is required to active the 4 dac.
Device-Lg g6

Update:
I find a earphone which is 51 ohm.price-99$
Model-Soundmagic e50 has 51
Or just buy the high impedance (75ohm) adapter & use it with my apple earpod?
The headphone amplifier changes the gain according to the headphone impedance, this is separate from whether the HiFi DAC is in use.

Which ROM has the best audio quality from the 3.5mm headphone jack?

I have been trying a lot of custom ROMs recently on my Z2 Plus and I noticed the audio quality from the 3.5mm headphone jack is not particularly good on any of them. When listening to a piece of music or a podcast with quiet sections, a crackling noise is audible that makes it hard to hear any detail in the audio. The problem is most notable at low volume levels of just a few notches. I tried disabling any audio enhancements like the 'AudioFX' app that comes with Lineage-based ROMs, but this did not make much difference.
I listened to the same MP3 files on my ZTE Axon 7 and the audio is crystal-clear with no crackling present in the slightest. I'm using a pair of Audio Technica ATH-M50 monitor headphones.
I know the ZTE Axon 7 has a Hi-Fi audio DAC which might explain why it sounds so much clearer, but I didn't expect the difference to be this much... Is the bad audio quality just a limitation of the ZUK Z2's hardware, or is it something that the custom ROMs are not implementing correctly?
Which ROMs have the clearest audio quality from the headphone jack?

Flash this mod and use neutron/ poweramp with 24 bit hifi audio enabled.
There is a noticable difference in audio quality

Thanks, I actually tried both of these tips before making this thread but I wasn't overwhelmed by the difference in audio quality... When playing music I still hear the crackling/static kind of noise during the quiet parts. I think it's probably a limitation of the hardware more than anything else.
Do you guys think using a 3.5mm to Type-C adapter with a built-in DAC would solve this problem? Then I could play music through the Type-C port instead of using the headphone jack.

You can always use a external dac via usb c port. Someone from zukfans.eu said it is working. But external dacs are expensive. Type c to 3.5mm jack adapters wont do anything if it does not have any dac inbuilt

Okay, thanks. The reason I mentioned the Type-C adapters is because I thought some of them were marketed as having an inbuilt DAC. But that could be wrong and the ZUK might not have compatibly to use it anyway.
Yeah, I don't like the thought of buying an external DAC since I don't intend on keeping this phone much longer anyway. I'm just having trouble choosing my next handset since the smartphone market is so stagnant at the moment. LG V30 would be good for audio quality but it uses PWM which hurts my eyes too much.
try paranoid rom nougat version, it was the only rom in which I felt the audio quality was better. ZUK 2 clearly have poor hardware, my old moto g3 sounds much better.

Audio jack low volume

Hi guys, anyone might have an idea how to bypass the stupid EU limitation on the audio jack volume?
Last time that I've done it it was so easy!
On a Pocophone you need to change the region outside EU and the audio DAC is enabled, louder and clearer audio.
I really need this as I have some professional studio headphones and his phone has the weakest volume of everything I've tested with, other phones, laptop, tablet.
No need to tell me to change the headphones or buy an headphone amp please.
Many thanks!

Is it possible to disable the audio jack?

Hello,
my son broke the audio jack in the smartphone then tried to remove it in a way I really don't want to know how reducing the smartphone in this way...
The smartphone is ok, but he detect earphones always connected, the only way to use it is using a bluetooth earphones, but I'm wondering if there is a way to disable the jack so I can use the smartphone "normally"...
