Good morning all,
It is possible to change the cover screen ratio as some app not ready adapting to default ratio (ex, snapchat)
Appreciate your support

Hey everyone
Just a quick question regarding the camera app on the note 2.
My phone is standard, not rooted or anything loaded.
I have noticed that when I load the camera app and take a picture in landscape mode (Phone held sideways)
the picture does not display on the full screen. It has a black border either side..
Why would I loose a 3rd of my screen to black borders.
Thanks in Advance

I suppose you have set maximum resolution, & then it won't fill the screen (because of different aspect ratio).
The simple "solution" is to reduce the resolution one notch, and voilá; the picture WILL fit the screen....
If you don't mind shooting pictures at a lower resolution, that is....
There are 3 wide resolution to choose from to consume all the display. 6mpix is the highest

Cheers everyone..
Dropped down to 6m and its all good now
If you shoot at 8mp it's in a 4:3 aspect ratio so the sides of the screen are black because there's no data there. If it filled those sides then you wouldn't see what you were shooting at the top and bottom as the top and bottom of the preview would be cut off. If it really bothers you you can shoot at 6mp as others have said which is a 16:9 aspect ratio and won't have the black borders. There shouldn't be any difference in quality and you can always crop your 8mp photos into a 16:9 resolution afterwards if you want to use 8mp.

Hey!
So, I dropped G3 on the ground today, and my screen is shattered + only like 4mm at the lower part of the screen is responsive while the remaining 5,4 inch (... ) isn't . The screen is working as in it is displaying things but it isn't responsive. Anyways, I was looking on the forum for topics about replacing a screen etc.. but I couldn't find any answers on my question.
Which is, is it safe to buy a screen+digitizer+ frame from ebay?.
I'm thinking about buying this one : http://www.ebay.com/itm/Grey-LG-G3-...043316?hash=item2a4e0c1db4:g:lBMAAOSwBahVD-n1
But i've heard/read that some screens may come in 1080P instead of QHD.
Would that be an actual problem if it turned out to be a 1080P screen? I don't mind having a 1080P screen tbh. My previous phone (Xperia Z) had a 1080P screen and I couldn't spot any difference between the 2 screenresolutions.
so,
Is it safe to buy a screen+digitizer+frame from ebay?
if yes, and if it did turn out to be a 1080P screen, would my phone still work properly?
:fingers-crossed:

How about this one ?

Anyway to to reduce the screen from 7" to 6" somehow? Want to fit it to display in a 6.4 frame?
Hope you understand, thanks!

This explains it pretty well. You may have to change the DPI or density to match resolution.
I'm planning on doing a tablet install in-car, and was wondering instead of cutting the frame to size, am I able to adjust the screen size so it fits a 6.4 frame?
Thanks
Anyone?
I switched from a OnePlus 9 Pro to a P6P and the one thing i've noticed that really bothers me(just OCD) is that the camera aspect ratio does not match the display. I end up with the large black bars on either side of the picture, even when taken at 16:9. My OP9P matches and filled the screen completely which was beautiful. Am I the only one that this bothers and is there some way around this that I don't know of? Or is anyone just able to make me feel better about it overall? Yes, just like a support group!
I still have my OP9P and have time to return my P6P yet should I end up going that route. This is probably the only reason.
I know there's an option in the settings for aspect ratio but I haven't paid attention to the details. I know I had initially changed it from the defaults but when I factory reset and rooted I've kept the default for the aspect ratio and I don't remember noticing anything odd about it.
Simply said, just look at the aspect ratio's:
Screen ratio: 19.5 x 9
Image ratio: 16 x 9 (or 4 x 3)
So you can see that you need black bars top/bottom (portrait mode) to 'fill' the space between 16 and 19.5.
It's not totally 'accurate' as theoretically you might have non-square pixels, but anyway.
4:3 aspect ratio in the camera will be even worse 4:3 => 12:9 so needs to 'fill' space between 12 and 19.5 with bars.
Nothing you can do about it.
I came from a OnePlus phone as well ... initially was also slightly frustrated by that. The full screen images on the OnePlus indeed look nice.
Would I return the phone just for that ... hmm ... no ... the recent (and future) direction of OnePlus' software frustrates me more than the 2 black bars on the P6P photos display.
Up to you of course ;-)

No, I understand all that. Just trying to convince myself it's not a problem. Haha.

ALL Camera sensors are 4:3 ratio. No exceptions. Whatever shows up on your screen that looks like another aspect ratio is obtained through cropping. If it doesn't match your screen, pick a different camera resolution (ratio) that does. The display on P6P is 19.5:9 ratio, so find a camera resolution that matches.

I don't think there is a way to match the resolution with the display ratio on it though. I'm betting it's going to take a 3rd party camera app or gcam to do it?
