Can the Z Fold 3 do it when connected via HDMI?
DeX, itself, does not support 4K resolution.
I would prefer DeX at 60+FPS with USB IMO.
what does dex support, resolution / fps and does it matter wireless or wired?
I use dex on z fold 3 on resolution 3440x1440.

As far as I know wireless works only on a TV which is crazy, and 60FPS only with HDMI which is no better.
About resolution I don't know.

What do you mean, "wireless wireless only on a TV?" I can use DeX wirelessly on my laptop and I can use DeX with my phone connected to a TV or any other display that accepts an HDMI input.
No 4k supported

I have MHL cable for Note 1 and don't work for Note II cable. Why? Change the compatibility?
GS2 cables doesn't work with the GS3 (Samsung changed the number of pins) and since the note 1 is a giant gs2 and the note 2 is a giant gs3 ...

This is because the new MHL connector (on the S3 and Note 2) is the 11 pin type. What does this mean?
It means you can simultaneously have TV out AND USB Host.
So what does THAT mean? It means you can have TV out via HDMI to your tv and also connect a USB Hub to it and have mouse + keyboard + external drive. Congrats, your phone is suddenly also a Smart TV box.

Sure, Samsung has been reported as having said that, only thing is that NOBODY has been able to actually do that.
suggested the cable?
I can confirm that the Galaxy S3 MHL adaptor I bought locally in Singapore works fine with the Note 2. Only problem is that the image on the TV seems to be slightly cropped, such that only 1/4 of the notification bar is visible. Has anyone experienced this as well?

Overscan on the TV. Not a Note 2 issue, tis a TV one. Depending on the TV you may be able to correct it by:
Changing the display type (widescreen, zoomed, etc)
Turning off overscan in the normal menu
Turning off overscan in the service menu (getting to this is TV specific)
In for link to best cheapest MHL cable that works on GN2. Also, is it possible for the GN2 to play content on MHL out while displaying something else in the actual phone? Like the video out feature of the LG Optimus G "Dual Screen/Dual Play" (demo of feature @ 3:38)?
The cheapest MHL cable that works on the GN2 is the one you already have, paired with a HDTV adapter tip from samsung (http://www.samsung.com/us/mobile/cell-phones-accessories/EPL-FU10BEBSTD) I haven't seen any 3rd party ones yet.
I want to know if the Note 2 is able to playback a 1080p mkv file and output it in the same quality (1080p) to my hdmi tv.

If you have netflix and have the bandwidth to stream HD, could you please compare the quality of the video from the note 2 outputted to the TV, and from your PC to the TV.
Is the quality same as same from both players? or is the PC quality greater than the Note 2?
Does this new Nexus support MHL ? or some protocol that allows us to view screen on HDTV? What cables would I need? Does it allow full mirroring?
What's the deal with wireless display? Does it work well? What are the best devices to use for onscreen? Can Chromecast do full mirroring of the device?
Sorry, I'm out of date on this subject. Thanks!
The 2013 Nexus 7 and Nexus 4 use Slimport instead of MHL. I don't know about wireless display options. Chromecast does not support it...for now.

I have the HDMI dongle below which uses Miracast. Miracast is built into the Nexus 7 FHD in the /settings/display/wireless display. Just turn on wireless display and it finds the dongle and mates via wifi direct. Everything on your tablet goes straight to your TV at HD including sound. The latency is slight but not too bad. The main thing is that it works right out of the box and works well. I use the dongle with my Nexus 7 and a VGA adapter to throw powerpoint presentations up on a projector using Presentations Mobile from the play store. It works great. Everyone marvels at my ability to walk around the lecture room with my nexus 7 and run the presentation, only needing to look at my nexus for the next bullet point. The dongle hooks up to the projector via a VGA to HDMI adapter and the projector found the device without a problem.
The only thing you will notice is that the 1920x1200 Nexus resolution when thrown up to a HDMI television screen will not fill the screen totally. I tried changing some display and density settings as in this post. It helped on the TV but made no difference in the VGA / projector image. So, if you want a fuller image on your HDTV you might want to use the Terminal Emulator and run the display and density commands in the post above. However, it isn't absolutely necessary as the HDTV image fills up about 90% of the screen if you can stand that. Hope this helps.

Netgear PTV-3000 (Push2TV) works using Miracast (tested) in both tablet portrait and landscape modes. You connect the PTV-3000 to your HDMI port on HDTV and use Settings, Display, Wireless display on Nexus 7 (2013) (only, not Nexus 7 1st gen). But the quality is lacking. Another similar Miracast device is Bestbuy Rocketfish - Miracast Video Receiver, Model: RF-WFD301. It works, but I have not yet tested. I got last week for $50 off on BB special, cost $29.
Otherwise use Slimport cables, but get a recommendation first. Quality of Slimport has been reported both good and bad. I did not test Slimport. MHL does not work.
Chromecast can only do full mirroring of PC, like Windows 7 & 8, Mac, Linux. You must run Chrome Beta and add Google Cast plugin. But, Chromecast does not work (yet) with phone nor tablet. Chromecast broadcast of PC full screen is experimental. I've tested on Windows 7 & Mac.
Good luck
Can I connect the Z1 compact to a TV?
I think there is a wireless option, but I think that would induce lag (for gaming) wouldn't it?
I don't see anyway to connect it to the TV with a cable, am I wrong?
Was thinking of using a PS3 controller and playing GTA on my widescreen.
TV is Panasonic VT65.
Thanks.
I think it's as simple as using an MHL cable/unit. I grabbed one of these from Amazon a while back and has worked on a few of my phones. Below is an example. This unit plugs into the MicroUSB port of the phone, and outputs to HDMI. This unit also may require power from a microusb charger though, so check that out.

Exactly
Without lag for gaming = MHL over USB
With minimal lag = Miracast / WiFi / Screen Mirroring

GTA is 720p on Android as far as I know, and the Z1c is only 720p anyway...

Can we not connect that to the Z1c wirelessly?
My Pixel 6 Pro does not connect to an external monitor via UBC-C to HDMI cable (hope it's not an issue of my specific device). The video signal just doesn't transfer, and I get a black screen on the second monitor. I tried having a look at the dev settings but there seem not to be an option to enable/disable the feature, only to resize windows etc. Any tips?
(The cable worked fine with my previous Oneplus phone and with my friend's Samsung device)
Thanks so much in advance!

You would need a DisplayLink dongle and the DisplayLink app, this is the only method to do video out on a Pixel
Project your Pixel phone's screen - Pixel Phone Help
If you have a Chromecast or other device that casts, you can mirror your Pixel phone's screen and audio on

Good to know about DisplayLink dongle and the DisplayLink app! Cheers
Thanks very much for your reply! I'm looking for some of these adaptors on Amazon (UK), but they don't directly specify 'DisplayLink', quite annoying...
I have been looking for a way to reimplement, Miracast compatibility allowing you to cast to any smart device. If anyone is interested in helping please DM me help would be appreciated

That's a great idea. Is miracast hardware built into the phone or just a software WiFi stack? I would like to Miracast from the pixel 6 pro.

It's software that relies on WiFi Direct. However Google practically pulled all Miracast support from Android in favour of Chromecast, so it will be quite the job to reimplement it even with a custom ROM.
I just want to vent regarding the lack of HDMI capabilities of the pixel 6 pro. I wanted to buy one of these to replace my landline. I wanted to display it via an HDMI dongle on my 4k tv, one with an ethernet port so I could use it as a hotspot/router and root it for call recording. It turns out that to do that, you have to purchase a special display link adapter (expensive) and you are limited to 1080p. So instead I purchased an inexpensive Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G. I ran it through an inexpensive hub that has HDMI and ethernet out. It has 3 usb 3.0 ports and I use one with a mouse. The freaking setup works like a computer, it is just slick. IT PUTS OUT 4K 30HZ RIGHT OUT OF THE BOX. The pixel 6 pro has a few advantages like its on hold software and rootability. But the Samsung absoulutely smashes it when it comes to HDMI affordability. And don't even mention chromecast, it won't ethernet properly and wont do 4k. Chromecast is a joke, just buy a Samsung for HDMI. I don't intend to buy another pixel unless they change their HDMI situation.

If you read the product page, you would've realised that the Pixel series has NEVER supported USB DisplayPort Alt Mode (which is what you'd need for direct HDMI connection), and DisplayLink is the only option.
You also don't have to buy the expensive adapters, there are DisplayLink HDMI adapters that cost only $30-ish.
You're also not limited to 1080p only, as there are 4K DisplayLink adapters (albeit more expensive).
You're also complaining about a $800+ phone you want to use as a LANDLINE, needing a $30-80 adapter to work with a TV.
@GivIn2It It's just a theory of mine for a long time, but I'll repeat it. I suspect (no evidence other than what's publicly known about Pixels versus Samsungs) that Google has a contract with Samsung where Samsung sells Google parts and/or manufacturing prowess for the Pixels, or sells them at a only mildly expensive price, in exchange for Google agreeing to not make the Pixels "too" competitive with Samsungs.
Of course, this idea of mine held more weight before Samsung started to make MicroSD slots rare or even just non-existent on their flagship devices (they keep them on the cheaper devices since cheaper devices commonly hardly include any significant internal storage space), but I think it's still a possibility. Who knows, though, I'm just guessing.
Google does depend on Samsung, so Samsung has all the weight to throw around.
I also cannot stand Samsung's Android implementation (up through and including the Note 10+). Hardware absolutely great. Software gets a 2 out of 10 from me.

I maintain that DisplayLink is overpriced BS. I would not consider anything not capable of 4k, all my monitors are 4k. Any phone I purchase will likely cost at least $800+, but why should I throw money away on accessories that are equally functional and way cheaper on alternate hardware? Google needs to listen, more people are using their phones on Hdmi. Wifi is finicky and unreliable, a cable is solid and trustworthy. And I don't have time to read everyone's stinking fine print on their product page. That info is well buried. I like stuff that just works, and works well, like my Samsung setup. I can't find anything on this pixel that will reliably put its screen on my tv, anydesk, teamviewer, chromecast, all fail regularly, and are low res too boot.
I have a problem with my OP7T: I can use screen mirroring with wifi and everything is ok (with delay, not the best option for gaming).
but if I use a docking station (usb-c to hdmi) the hole system begins to stutter and is laggy. I tried the "second screen" app to reduce the resolution, but it won't help.
why is the screen mirroring over wifi better than usb-c to hdmi? is this a bug?
Most obvious solution is a new simple usbc to HDMI adapter for $10 or less
I will try it, but I think it's the same. the docking station is technically nothing else.

Except each one uses different firmware so product A may be worse than product B
Is ur tv is a 4k TV. If yes then op7t support 4k 30fps. It may stuck. Anything below 4k is smooth on op7t. I'm a regular mhl user on op7t. I do gaming a lot and I found this. Certainly I'm also trying to find any app which will help to forcefully reduce the resolution to resolve the issue.
It is a 4k TV, but on a 4k Monitor (Fujitsu) with a USB-C to Displayport adapter it works perfect, so the resolution is not the problem. I also reduced the resolution of my OP7T with an app called "secondscreen", and it is the same problem on the 4k TV. On another 4k TV it is also laggy with my docking station. I think the combination of this docking station and a 4k TV is the problem, so I have to try another one. A simple USB-C to HDMI adapter is not usable for me, because the phone should be loading at the same time.
sorry for my englisch ^^`
