Question Spam notification - Google Pixel 6 Pro

I been getting spam text messages and I have on spam and fraud protection on. I have notification for it turn off but still getting notifications. How can I get it to stop alerting me everything I get a message. It kinda defeats the the purpose of having it on.

It isn't possibe to block all spam. The Messages app will be using an algorithm and likely a database to determine what is spam and what isn't.
A better choice is to be proactive and get your number removed from whichever service keeps messaging you.

I could be wrong, but I think the OP (correct me if I'm wrong, @VUser16) is saying that Messages is blocking the SPAM, but it still gives a notice it blocked a text, so it's almost as annoying as just allowing SPAM through. i.e. Google Messages is substituting its notice that it blocked SPAM instead of the original actual SPAM text.
They're not complaining that it's not blocking all the SPAM. Almost all SPAM I've ever received is from nefarious senders, not actual services I've signed up with, and mistakenly given them my phone number and okayed them to send me texts.

email spam from this site

It has come to my attention that a spam bot seems to have crawled this site at some point and I'm getting spam to an address that I only use for this site.
This is just to bring this to the attention of someone who might be able to see how this happened and maybe block it? I can just blacklist the address in my profile but it doesn't help the people who used a proper email address to sign up.

Gmail notification - includes SPAM box?

I think I'm getting notifications on my phone even if it's SPAM sent to spam folder.. is this normal or can there be something to change this?

[Q] Sent group text messages shown as anonymous

I've been having an odd problem lately. When responding to group text messages (which are already handled badly when not everyone has a group-text capable phone), my responses get filed in a separate string with me as an anonymous sender in lieu of the group conversation thread. I am currently running Tweaked 3.5 for a while and this has only recently started happening. Replies to individual text messages still behave as normal, being stored in that message thread. Searching online has proven difficult, since anything with the word 'anonymous' gets tons of junk about spam messages. I'd show a screen shot, but I recently cleared the memory of messages in order to try and troubleshoot the issue.

"Block phrases" option is removed from Galaxy S9's messages app

Had all versions of Galaxy in my life and was using default Messages application's feature that blocks SMS if it's text contains words that are blacklisted. In my old S8 phone, I had this option and really loved it. In S9, they removed this feature. But I heard some regions have this feature. So if anyone knows, how to enable this, please help. Don't need to install 3rd party app for this... Just need to enable "Block phrases" option. Photos are included of my old S8 and new S9.

My CSC is SER. Also tried to change CSC with secret code but menu is not showing up. (Needs factory reset to show up, as I know)
Can someone confirm this func on different CSC? If yes, I will probably flash firmware or factory reset if it will work.
Yes, in the Galaxy S9 models, the Messages App is 5.0+ version.
In the Galaxy S8 models, the Messages App is 4.4 version and contains block phrases feature.
I don't understand this changes, removing good features from basic apps like messages.
Now we need to install another messages app.
very bad update .it is really strange to remove good feature like block phrases in SMS app
+1 here too.
This is needed to keep promotional messages silenced!
I am in the UK with BTU CSC, i dont have the 'block phrases' option in the message settings, i am on ver 5.0.11.8, latest i believe.
Bring back spam blockers
The S\9 needs to bring back the phrase blocker for sms and the spam ID for phone. They were valuable in my S7.
Cannot believe they have done this. What app are ppl using instead?

Nothing, I don't understand what this setting does? Block phrases?
If I am getting texts from someone I don't want to receive them from I block their number, then they can't text or call at all
Spam texts can be sent with Phrases. Block Phrases allows you to insert Phrases rather than numbers to block them. However in Oreo it's no longer working.

You must get a lot of spam texts, blocking numbers is more than enough for me, I don't even remember if I've had a spam text
Telephone preference service is active too
There is an option for "Blocked messages" in Oreo, separate from blocked numbers, I'm guessing that blocks messages that are the same from different numbers, similar to phrases
Don't worry about it. Your not helping. Cya

I use Android messages and have since the first time I looked at Samsung's version. As for block phrases I have never seen a need for something like that since I can block the sender.
removing the spam phrase , make the S9, S9+ look stupid, a real stupid phone

Well "block their number" option doesn't work for all promotional messages. Maybe it's something specific for my country, but I often receive SMS messages from senders with no number (only company name is shown in sender details), and it is not possible to block those any other way than using phrases.. which is also not possible now.

I found it useful for minimizing spammy messages from folks I did not wish to block. With the S8+ I blocked a few key phrases, and minimized the spam from my siblings that abuse that annoying "liked/loved/whatever" feature n iMessaging. I didn't want to block my sister. However, I don't care if she "likes" every text message in a group - and sure don't want to be spammed by it all day. Best I've been able to do against this nuisance is to silence that group's notifications, since they took out the "block phrases" option.
I guess no one has found a way to do this? Has anyone switched to a 3rd party app that has this functionality? I really don't want to because I like using Samsung Themes with the default messaging app, but I need this option back.
For people asking "why" we need this, here's an example:
The person who had my phone number before I got it last year apparently had a lot of financial problems and gave her phone number to every loan and insurance scam on earth, so I get about 10-15 calls per day from unknown numbers (which I block now, so they don't bother me), and about as many texts. The texts come from a different number each time, all saying things like "<Person's name>, you can be approved for auto insurance for $10/month!" or whatever. But they all have the person's name in the message, so I used to just block any texts containing her very unusual name, problem solved. Until I got a shiny new Note 9 which no longer has this functionality. (Darn you, Samsung!) I've blocked at least 20 numbers in the last week, and I just keep getting more from other numbers.

Any word on RCS?

I know there was talk of Google just basically forcing it on but do we know if and how RCS will work? From carrier models and unlocked?
I dont know why this isnt being made a big deal because thisi could really make a huge change....i talked with someone yesterday at tmobile and they said it was turned off around February this year for some reason....Google just cant run things like Apple simply put because Apple would not have left that in the carriers hand period....Google needs to take over and build out their data centers like apple and say the hell with the carriers because it can really be something that could be great....its one of the reasons i left iphone because i was under the impression it was very near but i may be wrong....
I'd rather not have RCS.... I like my privacy and don't need others seeing if I have read a message or am typing out a reply to them, etc. But I realize others think this is a nice feature, I personally am glad that we have SMS for our texting though. If one wants RCS they can use a messenger service easily enough.
Have been using RCS for ages here O2 UK and have to say like a lot. Nothing done by me just popped up.
I use beta Google messages.

Hundred percent agree. When I got my N10+ I got bombarded with this nonsense message on every new SMS I received or was sending, if I really don't want msg recieved receipt or something along the lines and then freaking thing changed the settings on it's own. I can understand lawyer sending subpoena would want receive receipt, but I'm not a lawyer. If I want see people typing I'll make video call. BTW I have something called chat on my phone under messages, isn't that RCS? If so let me make sure it's all disabled.

Being able to see if your message has been read is really nice because you can tell if someone is purposely ignoring you or just busy. If I want to keep them guessing, I ignore their message entirely.
Most people in my country use whatsapp. Both android and apple.

I want to read your msg and decide myself if I deem it important or not, it could be emergency. I could be ignoring your message because I'm driving, I could be having fun with my wife or simply ignore you as irrelevant, it's my problem not yours. I want my privacy and I will not allow my phone to spy on me, which it's doing anyway.
90% of time I send a message, other person reads and responds. If I have no response and it's urgent I call, otherwise they ignore me I ignore them. This nonsense with msg read, person is typing etc. sounds like privacy issue to me, created by law enforcement or corporate lawyer minded person. IMO all those settings should be factory set to NO and you should actually explicitly agree to your phone spying on you, not set to on automatically, some people are probably not even aware of it.

I understand your opinion, and simply disagree for the above-mentioned reasons.
From the counter position, knowing whether or not you've had time to read my message is very helpful to me because I may or may not feel the urgency to call you depending on why I sent a message in the first place. If the issue is relatively time-sensitive but you haven't read my message after an uncomfortable amount of time I will call. If you have read it, it may not be necessary to call as I might assume you've already determined its importance since I know you read the message.
From my perspective, it sounds like you sort of just don't like messaging for normal day-to-day communication which is totally fine - nothing wrong with having your own likes and dislikes.
