So since this phone is so inexpensive, are we going to get screen protectors for it? Or just let it go? I'm probably going to get something simple, like this one, just for some basic protection. Is anyone else planning on getting any sort of protection?
Thanks in advance!
I bougth one and after 2 weeks is scratched and has a crack so you should no spend your money on this
Yeah, the tempered glass screen protector is pretty good.
i usually just let it go, feel better than cover any protectors
Hi:
I depends on how do you use you screen.
I have own a Galaxy S, SIII and now this Moto E 2015 , and never ever used a screen protector. No scratches on screen. Nevertheless I know some people using the phone as a kitchen cutting table and have the same results (as the kitchen table).
Gorilla glass is pretty hard though.
I actually have screen protectors on my devices just so because it feels good to know there's an added protection. You may want to check this one.
The Tempered film is a better choice.
Where i live in Canada i could not find one in store.
I was able to see a couple cases but they were super cheaply made and super expensive (in my Mall)
So i didn't buy a case.. i also didn't want a bulky case because i lucked out and found a sweet belt clip case at Wallmart.
The case from Wallmart fits my dimensions perfectly for the phone and has my phone attached to my belt now
I like using my phone to listen to music while i ride my mountain bike.
So what i ended up doing is getting an iPhone 6 protective film for $2 and i just trimmed the top off and laid it on top my phone.
i have 95% of it covered and it looks ok.. i had done a better job but i tried to make it perfect and screwed it up.
Pro Tip: Don't be a perfectionist when making your own cut and paste protective film LOL
Also..
I could have gotten a protective film from a kiosk in my local Mall that is suppose to be strong etc.
The kiosk custom cuts the protective material for any device from watches to phones, so i *could have done that.
But, they wanted about $35 can. after taxes for my cheap phone so i said no thanks.
I do want to ask any of you out there a question (i am fairly new to android phones only had a S3 for a few months before)
What i want to know is are the Gorilla glass screen good enough that i can just ditch the plastic film stuff ?
Like i have seen some guys say online that they don't bother putting a protective skin on the phone.
So what do you guys think ? Maybe i should ditch the protective plastic stuff on my phone ?

gorilla glass is preatty hard, it can survive some hard things like keys or somethig made of metal but there are things that can easy scrach it - for example sand (because it's harder than glass). I can't recommend plastic screen protectors, they do the job but they are real fingerprints magnets. It's impossible to keep it clean. I think you should buy glass protector, you can find cheap ones on some chineese sites with free shipping (it takes like month but I think it's worth)
Today I got my 3$ tempered screen protector form Chinese auction site. The shipping was free, it should take more than 30 days according to info on the site but I've waited only 12 days. IMO the glass quality is very good but it's my first tempered glass protector. Instalation process was easy (even without instruction on the box but there is a lot of videos on YouTube about instalation) though I have small air bubble around proximity sensor. It's my first glass so maybe I've done something wrong. Anyway I'm very happy, I had plastic foil before and it's like day and night. The fell of the glass under the finger is great. IMO this 3$ glass is a great deal.
I bought my one here http://www.aliexpress.com/item/2-5D..._77_91_80,searchweb201644_5,searchweb201560_9
Edit
Today that bubble dissapered for itself, now it sticks perfectly. For 3$ I'm more than happy.
Just go get one from XtremeGuard and use a coupon to bring the price down to like $2.
tyvm got all the info i need here

I had something like that on my last phone and it got really scratched after 1 week, mostly from this metal things around pocket in jeans pants. It made screen look grainy too but it was pretty comfortable to use in sunlight.

Ahhh I see, well you could get a case that covers the screen, that way it doesn't get grainy or scratched. Regardless of the screen or screen protector, I think it's not recommended to place your phone on the same pocket you have your keys in, or other metal things.

I think about those two metal spots around pocket in most of jeans' pockets. I just want to say that it won't suit for every people, I used something like that and I was really mad about how it made my screen grainy and how soft it was although it performed preatty good in sunlight and fingerprints wasn't so visible. Then I had non matte one, screen looked better but it was real fingerprints magnet. It was harder but still It got scratched after some time. Now I have glass and for me it's the best choice. It's very transparent, very hard and it's not so bad with fingerprints but it's thick so it can colide with some cases (not an issue for me). That's just my opinion about thoose protectors.

Well I bought mine for 2$ on chinese site (aliexpress). It's cheap, preatty easy to install, very scratch resistant and very clear, screen looks bright and it feels great under the finger. The downsides are that it's thick so it won't work well with every case, I use it with orginal grip shell and it's good combo because of the case design: http://forum.android.com.pl/uploads/monthly_12_2015/post-142525-0-25574200-1451048167.jpg The second problem is that the oleophobic coating wears off but after 2-3 months it's still not so bad (but it was better when it was new).

Awsome, I'll try one someday, the plastic one I have feels to smooth on the finger, as in it sometimes feel like if you are not really sliding your finger on the surface
Well, I had to learn the lesson the hard way. It was night time and my niece wanted to catch some crawdads from the small creek in my brother's back yard. I put my phone in the pocket that had my keys (grr!) and crawled along the creekbed catching some crawdads for the kids. Well, the next day I noticed a small hairline scratch about 1cm long. Bummer! So my previously perfect M9 picked up it's first noticeable defect. :crying:
I read that the tempered glass screen covers will tend to make small scratches less visible and provide protection from future scratches. The one I am looking at is 0.33mm thick, so it will still create a bit of a "lip" at the top and bottom of the phone, but the case I use should cover the sides. I never put a screen protector on my M7 and after 1.5 years it was still in very good condition. Perhaps I should just be more careful in the future.
A couple questions:
Does anybody have experience using them with the M9?
Are they easy to remove?
Worth $10 and the hassle?
Thanks
Tried Tempered Glass on my G3 and never looked back.
Unparalleled screen clarity, easy to remove, easily worth the money. Just fit it slowly and carefully
Can't comment on it covering scratches though
I would say the money is worth it. I have one on my M9. They are easy to install just follow the steps. I personally, even if the glass protector on, never put my phone in a pocket with my keys or change or anything. the only thing in front right pocket is my phone and nothing else. this is the one I used http://www.amazon.com/Tech-Armor-Premium-Ballistic-Protector/dp/B00U6EZGCC hope this helps

I use tech armor as well and used cailifu on my s5. Both work great. And haven't gotten a single scratch. Even when trying. Plus the warranty is awesome. My wife's broke 3 of them and I haven't even paid shipping for the replacements. And her phone still looks brand new.
Sent from my HTC One M9
The first thing I did when getting my M9 was to order a Spigen GlasTr screen protector. Though I tend to be careful with my phone, and I have a Seido case/holster, if it weren't for the Spigen glass protector, I would have surely broken my screen. I accidentally 'bobbled' it and the phone landed screen down on my (tile) countertop, chipping the protector. Had it not been there, I would definitely have a chipped or broken screen.
I can't say if applying a protector to your screen will help. I would just rely on the 'Uh,Oh' protection and request a new phone... and then immediately put a screen protector on the replacement. Yes, they're very easy to remove, but not so easy to install. See my guide here: CLICKY - it might help.
Just my two cents.

Solid feedback. I try to not keep the phone in my pocket as well, but given that I would be leaning over water, the shirt pocket (a common place for it) was out of the question and I didn't have convenient spot to set it down (outside around a fire). The good news is that the scratch is very minor (I've stopped noticing it) and I have a feeling that the screen protector will diminish its appearance. I'm going to hold onto the Uh Oh protection in the event that something really bad happens.
I'll review your guide for tips on the install.
Thanks again!

Not just that but thankfully HTC haven't curved their screens, so there is no halo effect, for example, my last phone the Note 4 had the halo effect, absolutely horrible design floor.
I had the 9H brand on my M8 for the whole year and definitely worth it, so I ordered the 9H again same day I ordered my Dev Edition and installed it soon as I opened the M9 Box.
But I can't speak on the removal as I have never had to take it off for nothing..

as above. It's just like you're using the standard glass screen of the phone. I was worried that due to its slight increase in thickness it would perhaps affect the usage of my dot view case (being able to make calls to last few callers etc) but it works as it should. perfectly definately recommend them over plastic ones any day.
You guys have convinced me. I am going for the tempered glass next time I pass the shop.

Well as many said, the tempered screen protector are harmful to eyes. For me, sometimes, the touchscreen are not that sensitive when I'm unlocking the phone. However, it's not a big deal, wearing a screen protector makes me feel more safe. I bought it from an online supplier: http://www.etradesupply.com/htc-one-m9-tempered-glass-screen-protector.html

Lol, this is a weird thing to read. How does a glass screen protector hurt your eyes? Unless you get it stuck in your eye? If a screen protector has been fitted correctly and its not super thick then you shouldn't have a single problem.
Since there don't seem to be any tempered glass screen protectors that cover the entire screen and stick properly to the curved edges, I'm looking for the next best option.
What is the best protective film for the V20?
So far, I have come across these two on eBay:
1. Nillkin HD Clear Crystal Transparent Thin Phone Screen Protector Film For LG V20
2. 2x Mikvon Armor Screen Protector for LG V20 Retail Package with accessories
Anyone have experience with either of these protectors? Are they worth buying?
I tried to find Skinomi on eBay but shipping to my country is not available.
Note. International shipping is important.

Yes I did but the shipping costs are way too high, at U$9.95 + U$4.00 it would cost more to ship to my country than the cost of the screen protector itself.
I got this one and it rocks! It goes all the way to sides and it doesn't attract fingerprints, without compromising the screen quality!

The Armorsuit screen protectors have always treated me well. They seem to be clearer/have less of a "fuzz effect" than the others I've tried. They're wet application if that matters to you. I personally think it makes the process easier.

Mikvon goes from edge to edge. However it does not stick to the top and bottom curve of the phone. You will have a gap and it slowly collect dust. Also if you have a case, it might push on to the SP on the side.

Is this wet application? How much room is on the side? I use spigen case and looking for screen protector that doesn't interfere with it.
If the screen protector goes from edge to edge it has tendency to be peeled off by case.
Also does it cover entire screen from top to botton included lg logo?
Not a wet application. Just a dry one - you'll get quite a bit of bubbles but they clear up within a day. It's got about 1mm at the sides, cutting it a little close - slight off and you'll have that halo issue which I solved by snipping a bit off whichever corner.

So far, I haven't seen such a problem. No dust or lint collecting on the sides. but like I mentioned, slight alignment issues and you'll probably have to trim it off using a cuticle scissors or something - that's what I did. :good::good:
Here's a video for reference. Pardon the quality, I got the cam for christmas so just fooling around with it.

It's definitely better then the Mikvon I got. The ads say "gold..." and the pic shows a tint of gold?? Don't see that in the video though, so it's just a normal TPU SP?

The gold is just the top film used during application. It's really just clear. Not too sure how a TPU SP is like but I reckon yes, it's just a normal clear version.
One word of advice, don't try to remove the cut-outs when you're removing film 1, leave it there, it's easier to remove that way - I learnt that the hard way.
Here's it now, the bubbles are pretty much gone and I haven't done anything specific to it. Perhaps playing some swiping games pushes the bubbles away

Bump. Anyone find anything yet? Tried the highly recommended skinomi and that thing is crap. If you want to feel like you're touching an inner tube for a bike (minus the dirt) enjoy. But I can't stand that rubber feel. Ordered a different PET type from Amazon, hasn't come yet but hoping I'll have luck. Wet installations suck. And absolutely hate tempered glass. Nope, dry install. If centered correctly upon installation, it is complete full coverage. My tip is to get a deep steam in your bathroom, and make sure your hands are clean. I have no lifting from my case and I got a case that the phone slides into. It has been perfect since install. Only 1 comes in package, but lifetime warranty. I highly recommend it.

Dont get a glass protector, they dont hold proprely, even the ones that get glued to the screen with uv glue.
Get the official samsung plastic protector, you get two for 12 bucks and they are pretty decent.

I'm using Spigen Tempered GLAStR and the Incipio Dualpro case - No issues with either - Spigen stays on and no issues with dust getting underneath (some have reported all kinds of issues with adhesion and dust) - But I suspect that they didn't prepare the surface properly before installing the screen protector... And it fits perfectly with the Dualpro.

Just be patient. I find bathroom after shower us the best place to apply the screen protector. Dust particles are settled after shower. After you apply the front of the screen, wait about 10 minutes then start working on the sides. Alternatively, you can use a hair dryer at a low heat setting. Good luck.
One more thing, unlike other protectors, this one has a total of three 'layers'
1.peel off #1, discard the layer with#2 sticker (Make sure you are discarding the frosted layer and not the clear one with glue side. I noticed that Sticker numbers are not consistent).
2. Spray on the glue side, place on the phone, work out bubbles, no worries about attaching the sides as they wont attach
3. Wait 5-10 minutes. Now carefully, hold#1 sticker and peel off the top layer. . A thin transparent layer will remain attached to phone. Now atrach the sides.
4.Let the phone sit overnight, you will have crystal clear screen protector in the morning.
Hope this helps.

Yes, it does take about 24-48 hours to clear up the bubbles and rainbow effect. Was there any reason that you could not squeeze out the bubbles during installation? Just curious. I normally add a drop of soap in the spray bottle and spray on the protector and the phone screen (just a mist). You get more control in adjusting the and squeezing the bubbles out.
I am glad you got it installed and it should be all good in a day or so. Take care.

Hello,
I have read in some forum that someone removed the PET layer because of the glass experience. I removed it on fold2 and I'm considering removing it on fold3 as well as I do not like the plastic layer compared to pure glass on fold2. Anyone did this already? Or heard anyone doing it?
First of all fold 2 has not got PET screen protector, only fold 3 has it and I can say you don't need to remove it. Since screen feels really good with PET protector so it feels like glass already with it.
Fold 2 has more like a plastic screen Protector. While fold 3 with PET is more like thin silicone protector but you don't feel silicone. It feels more like you are actually touching the glass.
Removing it puts screen more vulnerable to damage and marks that easily gets created and much more.
I know the fold2 is not PET, I have modified my post. I have my both phones in front of me - fold2 without protector (pure glass) and the fold3 - the touch is still with too much friction and I hate it. I'm ok with the unprotected glass as after months of using fold2 without any protector is totally ok without any major scratches. The question for me is - is here anyone who removed the annoying PET layer already?

I removed it within the first hour of ownership. I removed mine on the fold 2 - to me after getting used to a phone with no protector this phone is unusable with it on. there is no reason to keep it on unless you plan on using the Spen a bunch, which I do not plan on using. I had no problems on the fold2 and the experience is night and day with and without it imo.
anyone who thinks the phone feels the same with and without the protector is flat out wrong. the phone is not as vibrant with the protector, provides a ton of fingerprints, and does not feel near the same as glass without the protector.

yes, i think that was clear but I guess not. i removed the protector on the fold 2, i removed the protector on the fold 3.
I had my Z Fold 2 without a screen protector sitting next to my Z Fold 3 with the factory screen protector the other day. I could not see nor feel any difference between the two. Definitely not enough to risk damaging the screen or voiding the warranty of the ZF3.
I'm not wrong.
I've been itching to pull mine off as I've had the same screen protector before I even got the phone. The factory one is better than nothing, but I've wiped so many y finger prints off that's its annoying at this point.

Totally agree 100%. The Fold3 with factory fitted inner screen protector feels IDENTICAL to the F2 with screen protector removed.
For the above reason, removing the factory screen protector is insane and buying a 3rd party replacement screen protector is a wast eof $$$ .... better making a charitable donation than buying a 2nd one,
I will not put any third party protector as I will just keep it pure glass like it was on fold2

I understood what you said. But the surface of the ZF2 screen is not glass.

Yea i dont understand this glass feel.
The screen itself is a softer plastic then the protector. Hence the reason for a stronger thicker protector.
Im leaving mine on. And when it gets scratched up i am taking it to samsung for a new one so i can keep my warranty

Okay, is it just me or does this screen protector NOT go edge-to-edge? What's the point when it does not even cover the entire screen like the factory one?
I'm still waiting for mine, but I highly doubt I will pull the factory protector off and put on a 3rd party one that does not even cover the entire screen, ESPECIALLY with how much WhiteStone charges for their stuff, and, with being even more blatantly honest, their quality has suffered...

I know mine doesn't cover the full screen, maybe 1-2 mm off around the whole screen. But I can understand where you get their quality has gone down. Had whitestone on my 21u, and the first screen protector that came with jig was superb. Their replacement didn't seem to last long. I still haven't installed mine though..
