Hi
I rooted my realme 6 pro (Android 10, stock firmware) by Magisk and Installed TWRP successfully, but I can't edit/overwrite (by using root explorer or twrp).
1. So how can I overwrite/edit /system files? Or is there anyway?
2. Anyone can provide recovery image of Stock Firmware?
Thanks

You can use the twrp app, dl the .img for the correct twrp or you can flash the .img file within twrp itself flash>"change file type to install image">swipe

Hi all, I have an honor 7x (obviously) BND-L21 running EMUI 5.1 and Android Nougat. I have used a guide (which i am sure was from here) to unlock my bootloader and root the phone using twrp a while ago.
I have now noticed there is an OTA update to EMUI 8 and Android Oreo.
My questions are these...
I have downloaded the OTA update and tried to install it only to be taken every time to TWRP. After reading up on this i can see this is obvious but none the less i cant update my phone via this method.
I have copied the files downloaded from the update, (namely update_data_full_public.zip, update_full_BND-L21c_hw_eu.zip and update.zip) to my SD card.
So... 1) can i just flash the above zips using twrp and then reroot again with twrp and be on the latest firmware.
2) if not this method then do i have to remove twrp and then update to then put twrp back on again and root etc.
3) if anyone knows what i should be doing to update without bricking my phone then i apologise but i havent seen the correct thread on this. (seen many indian variants or others i'm not sure are applicable to my device)
Thanks for anything you guys can help with..
You need stock recovery for emui update. Flash stock recovery update. Then flash twrp of you need to root
download multi tool 8 for honor 7x
connect it
go to recovery section
install stock recovery
then u can install oreo update
i managed to unlock the bootloader, install twrp 3.5.0 and install a fixed lineage os rom, but is it still possible to get root access? i'm not sure if any other info about the device is needed that i can find.

Download the Magisk APK.
Rename the .APK file extension to .ZIP (e.g. Magisk-v23.0.APK → Magisk-v23.0.ZIP).
Flash the ZIP file just like any other ordinary flashable ZIP.
Or
In case you’re using a custom ROM like LineageOS, then the flashable ZIP file contains the boot image.

Hello xda. I'm thinking about rooting my note 9 pro.. I have the EEA firmware version latest Android 12 update.
V13.0.1.0.SJZEUXM
I'm thinking about grab the boot.img from the firmware, patch it via Magisk and flash it using fast boot. I mean without twrp. Will it be possible for this phone and this android version? I rooted my mi 8 lite this way and it work like a charm no twrp needed. Did you ever tryed this way to root your note 9?
I mean I can't find a stable twrp version.. Especially for Android 12 .
So if i try the method mentioned above will it work? I don't really need twrp for anything. Only need root.
Yes, if you simply follow the official Magisk install guide by TopJohnWu (patching the boot.img with the latest Magisk app and flashing it via fastboot - no need for recovery) it will work. In case you have to use apps which need SafetyNet (running on the official ROM).. that's a whole different story.. then you will need USNF, too, etc..
On MIUI 12 (Android 11) my phone was rooted with Magisk, I updated MIUI and of course the phone got unrooted, I redid the whole boot.img Magisk patching thing and tried installing Magisk, but now it doesn't work, I went around trying a bunch of different TWRP, including unofficial ones, nothing seems to be working.
