Hey guys when I add a widget to my home screen it doesn't allow location permissions, even when my location is on, when I click on the widget it opens up a weather app, how do I allow permissions for widgets? I have tried already?

Did you give the app PERMANENT permission or only "whilst in app"?

I'm not sure which app I need to give for the weather permissions though there is no actual weather app?

And when I click on that widget it just opens a weather page, the Google app has full permissions
Got it to work, was a bit of a process to do so
settings → apps → google → notifications → additional settings in the app → search for location with the search button → always allow → click on weather widget once and then go back to the home screen
All that to get the widget to work lol

I will never use the Messages app to send a picture (yes, never. I don't have an SMS plan) so I'd like to be able to remove it from the sharing list from the Gallery. Is there any way to choose which apps show up in that sharing list?
Thanks.

Only by removing the apps. You could go into the Messaging App Info page, and Disable it. As a warning, though, Messaging is one of the core OS apps, and disabling it could possibly cause instability. I've never had any reason to try it, but just keep it in mind in case you have issues; you can always re-enable it.

Any idea if this is the kind of thing a custom ROM could enable: choosing which apps show up in the menu?

Anything's possible; that could certainly happen. I don't see it as being a very widely anticipated feature, though. Just out of curiosity, I'm not sure if you noticed, but after you've used the sharing menu a few times, it shows only your top 3 apps (technically 2nd, 3rd, and 4th) that you've used for sharing, and then a "See All..." button below it. Also, your foremost sharing app will show up as an icon to the right of the sharing icon. Example below, with imgur, Messaging, Kik, and Gmail.

Just use Quickpic is is really good. I use it as my main gallery. Also has the option to hide stuff.
Thanks for the ideas.
Hi there,
Is this possible? I'm struggled trying to achieve this but I couldn't find any option in any of the settings

If you are talking about the Quick Setting Toggles for Wi-fi, Data, Screen Rotation, it can easily edited in many ways
1st way : Go to Settings > My Device > Display > Notification Panel
2nd way : Slide down the notification toolbar with two fingers, you will be able to see all options with edit option on top right

For some reason, I don't have the notification setting option under Device>Display. I also tried the two-finger pull down, and nothing. I have the I9082L, running I9082LUBAMH1. Any suggestions? Thx guys.

I'd like to change the default value about the flag in these Windows. I want it ever unchecked by default. I've the root on my phone!

That implementation is flawed. In my experience if you just press ok it doesn't default, you have to actually uncheck / recheck for it to get defaulted. Odd and buggy feature.

il I already had search on it..
but I can't find that option! [emoji27]
can u tell me under which menu? thanks [emoji16]
I was saying that is flawed in the respect that if I just press OK it won't set the app as default , but maybe it's just me , didn't give it too much thought cause I like the menu to choose things and I just press the app and stay away from the OK button.

If you use Google Keyboard you might find that the the sync is greyed out under Languages & Keyboard - Google Keyboard - Accounts & Privacy. To fix this you need to go one page back and click on Text Correction and scroll down and make sure Suggest Contact Names is on. Go back to Accounts and Privacy and sync should be turned on.
Also synchronization is greyed out for Google Apps users no matter what you do.
Whereabouts is this in settings?
Sent from my LG-H815 using XDA Free mobile app
Suggest Contact names is on but it's still greyed out. I have two business accounts but even when I deleted them and leave my personal account and reboot phone I get same situation[emoji37]

Same here. I tried adding Google Keyboard via Management Console but it still doesn't work. Did you find a solution?
This worked for me thanks
For Samsung devices with latest Secure Folder, Google Keyboard dictionary sync gives a false error about having a "Work account". The only solution is to uninstall Secure Folder = unacceptable.
Please leave Google feedback about this on the play store reviews and via Feedback from within the keyboard settings menu.

Was this solved in meanwhile?
I still have the same issue on Samsung Galaxy A5.
Cannot sync learned words accros devices
I disabled secure folder but still the same issue.
Uninstalling it (from the app settings menu) does not remove everything related to secure folder. It just uninstalls the secure folder setup you did.

Hello
I just bought my op9p, and so far we get along.
On my home page, there's a page with Goggle news and things to the left that I do not want.
Does anyone know how to get rid of it? I've looked at many settings.
It is symbolized by 3 little lines, like a menu bar, on the home screen.
Thank you

There's no way to get rid of that page. And I don't see settings. I see a more button on the op launcher

I switched to Niagara launcher that I was using before on my op7p.

i tried that option, and I only get the options to add widgests, wallpapers, and I see a MORE button, but no settings.
I'm using another launcher for now, but there must be a way to get rid of it.
