I have s20 ultra purchased originally from Telus. Its unlocked.
Now I'm with Rogers but phone do not get 5g signal. It stays on LTE even though I have 5g coverage. If I insert my sim in oneplus 8 pro I get 5g on that.
Talked to samsung and rogers and they have no idea. Both says everything good from their side.
Any suggestions?

Wrong thread? This is for the S3 Galaxy.
Does anybody know if the Verizon version of the S20 FE can be flashed with unlocked firmware? I know that hardware is usually identical accross carrier variants but I've read that Verizon's has extra hardware this time for the UW 5G. Is this accurate or do the others just disable that hardware?
I don't mind losing the UW capability but I just don't want to brick the phone
If it's like the S20 UW, then I've read they are NOT cross-flashable. The S20 UW and S20 FE UW both have V at the end of their model number instead of U. There are physical hardware differences. If the UW variant is carried by Comcast/Xfinity Mobile you might be able to find their less bloated firmware. I've also heard that CSC changes sometimes work. My personal recommendation would be to use ADB to eliminate all the bloatware and unwanted apps.
I tried it on mine using a couple of different versions of Odin and the firmware and every time it failed almost immediately when I tried to start it.
Thanks I was afraid of that. I guess I'll go the ADB route to debloat. I'm gonna miss the native smart call.

Try the patched version of Odin https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/patched-odin-3-13-1-t3762572
Worst thing that could happen is you just flash back to stock
Can anyone confirm if they were able to flash u1 firmware to verizon version of the fe?
I would imagine that in time it will be something workable where installing the base 5G model unlocked firmware would just disable the UW antennae functionality. The phones should be physically identical with only the UW antennae installed in the Verizon variant being different. All of the models have the antennae space designed into the frames. I would imagine that the easiest way to produce these phones with this variation would have been to make it a plug and play difference with the added firmware support.
If you can find the Spectrum (CHA) firmware, it supports UW and is essentially bloat free but with a Spectrum boot animation. If it's like other Spectrum devices, it should have SmartCall too.
Does anyone know where to find the (CHA) Spectrum mobile version firmware for the s20 FE UW 5g
try Frija
I am trying wrap my head around what phone I could get to run a custom rom on a Verizon network (CDMA).
I am open to a Samsung Galaxy S20 / S20+ / or S20 Ultra just searching around and finding almost nothing. Everthing seems to be primary GSM. I am unsure where to start when looking for a unlocked phone or if it's even possible with Verizon.
Thanks
Recently upgraded my EE contract to 5G and am unable to connect my S20 5G phone to 5G, everything else works completely (samsung pay, 4g, 3g, 2g) and 5G is supposed to work due to network band compatibility as attested by others on reddit.
I have tried several times to test 5G by going to 5G areas in London but to no avail, when I am in network mode 5g/4g/3g the max I get is 4g+. I have even changed my sim card and recgecked my contract is indeed 5G. I am really not sure why this is happening. Please can someone help.
P.S. I have even tried using sim card slot 2 as some on other forums did and it still doesn't connect to 5g. I can confirm that 5g works with Vodafone so it definitely isn't a problem with the phone. EE customer service are useless.
Hi folks,
I am not able to get 5G on my Samsung S22 Ultra here in India, which was imported from UK, so has the Exynos 2200 chipset. Although it supports all the 5G network bands required here, for some reason it does not switch to 5G.
Could you guys help me out. Is there any way to unlock the device or something.
Thanks
Me too
Any way to connect 5G.
