Hello guys
Recently got a watch fit that's running 1.0.2.12
On the health app it says that 1.0.3.20 is available. But when I run the update it gets downloaded to the phone, transferred to the watch and when it starts to install it reaches 68% the watch restarts and stays on its old firmware.
I factory reset it through the app and watch. Deleted data and cache from the app. Got the latest version of the health app even installed HMS and updated to the latest. Installed app gallery just to check that I had the latest health app. Done it off charge at 100% battery and even while it's plugged. Nothing seems to work.
Weird thing I don't get any error, it just restarts at 68% everytime.
Anyone got a clue or faced the same issue?
I have the same problem

Nothing yet. The firmware is lzma compressed with blowfish ciphered parts. All I could get is the Huawei BMP image for now. Does it stops at 68% on your unit too?

Yes, stops at 68%... i tried everything !!
i had this problem and tried everything even contacted Huawei but they didnt know how to fix it
the solution is simple when installing reaches 68% press the side button until the watch power off then when you start the watch update will install again , then when the installation reaches 68% keep pressing the side button repeatedly untill the installation passes the 68% and keep pressing it again if it stuck at any other percentage , i hope this solution works with you

Thanks for your reply. Well actually the update doesn't get stuck or anything. It goes just fine until it reaches 68% the wheel keeps turning and then the watch reboots itself

I've tried just that. It did shut down and start installing again, I kept pressing the button it rebooted again. I'll give it a couple more shots and see what comes out, I might've not pressed enough

If it helps i kept pressing fast try to reset the watch and reinstall the latest health app then redo these steps
Some problem here. When I reach 46% it is restarting imediatly. On my watch, it is not stuck at 46% .....when the installation reach 46% , in a second it is restarting.
I try the above method . It is working only if I press VERRY rapidly the side button; and I managed to update. I press this button like 3 minutes until the install finish.
Next updates works normal!
Mine still stuck at 1.0.3

What do you mean by, "press this button like 3 minutes"? You reach 46% and then press the side button for 3 minutes?

Same here, worked fine for me a couple days ago and now just stalls at 51%
Anyone able to get past 51%?
I just tried the smart switch, the first time it got stuck at 51%. After awhile I just hit cancel and tried again, got all the way to 85 and seemed to get stuck, but I let it sit and eventually it jumped to 100%. Everything completed as it should after that.

mac or pc?
PC, windows 8.1
So after doing the smart switch reinstall I can definitely say I have seen a massive improvement in battery life. 6 hours into the day, at 89% and cell standby is at 1%. Before my battery would be in the 70s by now, and cell standby 8-9%. My advice keep trying smart switch if it isn't working for you.
still stuck windows 8.1 64bit.. tried flashing firmware through odin, tried using smart switch in recovert mode and normal mode.. any other ideas? I'm gonna try a windows 7 machine tonight. This just sucks, think I'm gonna call tmobile for another replacement.
So after having not used my watch for about a week I've had issues. Right now my screen seems to be stuck loading and will not connect to my phone...I have tried restarting it and always goes straight to the screen with 4 circles that are moving. Any help would be great....my first thoughts were that my watch is updating but I have heard nothing about an update for the original zenwatch. Thanks for any help.
Turn off watch. Turn back on and immediately swipe from top right to bottom left of screen. Follow directions on screen to wipe data/factory reset. Re-pair with phone.

Thank you. So I did this and then rebooted, it still goes to the screen with animated circles. How do I repair with my phone after this? Thanks again any other steps I should have done on the recovery screen?
How long did you leave it on the circles screen? It could take up to 5 mins for it to boot after wipe.
Next step would be to install the latest system image. See my thread in Zenwatch Android Development.

hi I have the same issue, how can I update ?
Today I was surfing the web and the phone locked up and restarted itself. Kept getting to the android screen with the red yellow and blue symbols then restarting. Left the phone alone to get back to work then the phone restarted finally went to use the phone and after about 3 mins froze up again. Now the phone won't get past the Google boot screen and if I want to try and power the phone on the power button has to be pressed in about 30secs to a minute of two.
Also i can't get into recovery mode reliably since if I select recovery the phone again freezes at the Google screen on reboot and never gets to recovery 9 out of 10 times other times I can get to recovery and then phone will then crash while in recovery or will allow me to use recovery long enough to wipe the cache and factory reset which neither has worked.
While Plugged into a charger and just sits there nothing on screen just a black screen.
Phone is on latest android unrooted and locked.
i had this happen to my SO's stock/locked/unrooted Nexus 6P.
Plug it into a PC, wait a couple minutes, then press and hold the power button for like 1-2 minutes.

I don't have any issues. I was just curious. I've just never heard of a fix for any phone that requires a button press for more that like 30 seconds.
So what is the expected outcome? Does the phone just reboot and simply function correctly? Do you have a link to the forum post you read this in?

Sure.
Here is where I read about plugging it into a PC and then pressing the power button:
https://support.google.com/nexus/troubleshooter/3337561?hl=en#ts=3337942,3339328
That didn't work (15 seconds hold). Then I found this random post on XDA where someone said they held it for more than a minute, so i tried that.

Same exact problem. Phone was over 80% charged. Picked it up off of my desk at work to check the time and nothing. Just a brick.
Update*** I hooked the thing to power and nothing. So I just sat here at my desk for several minutes holding down the power button and the damn thing finally came back on. But I had to hold it for a very very long time, not the normal 10-30 seconds like it should take to do a hard power off. I'm talking minutes.

Yup same here. It can get to the boot menu but recovery only works 1/10 times and can't ever get through 54% of the boot log until it freezes and crashes.

Hello guys,
I just bought a brand new A5 2017 from a carrier centre and it restarts on an almost hourly basis. It works for maybe 1 or 2 hours normal, and then restarts by itself. When it boots up, I get messages of random apps crashing and then it restarts again. Once it restarted within minutes of each boot. I don't know the reason for this.
I have tried hard reset, soft reset, even flashing an AP firmware from Germany (I'm from Bosnia and Herzegovina), but with no luck. The phone just restarts when it wants.
Also tried safe mode, the same problem persists.
Any advice?

Try stock recovery and do factory reset. Vol. up, home and power buton. Btw. i think they are selling sh.t to eastern Europe (im from Croatia). I had bootloop on second day with A5 (2017). CPU was hot as hell. Recovery did not work, only desplaying error. But after 4-5 reset it came to normal. I was sending error log to samsung, they never answerd.

Yes. After a gazillion factory resets (soft and hard), I performed a repair (initialization, if that's what the Smart Switch calls it) of the phone through the Smart Switch. It booted up and all was well until it restarted again. Next thing that I did was: wipe everything via a hard reset, and then repair the phone through Smart Switch. This was about 2-3 hours ago. Did run into 2 crashes (Google Play Services and Chrome) but I think it was related to the syncing, but no restarts and I hope not in the future.
Im glad to hear that. That was a softweare problem.

Just to give you an update. Unfortunately, the phone restarted again today, so I returned it to the carrier. They said they will send it for testing, and that I will most likely get a new device. Seems that it actually wasn't a software problem; my guess is that EMMC has a fault.

Good you did not go for root.
This may sound a little strange has anyone ever encounted the problem where their phone will not shut down. Holding in the power button and choosing shut down just restarts it. Choosing shut down from fastboot also just restarts it. I even tried locking the bootloader with the December update , but it still happens..... Strange

Is it plugged in when this happens? If so, try again with the cable disconnected. Else, it's think this means a sticky power button.
Thank you, but it happens unplugged. It says shutting down..... Turns off for about 3 to 4 seconds..... Then the white screen to boot..... If it was a sticky button, wouldn't to keep going to the power menu?
Have you tried rebooting to safe mode then seeing of you can shutdown? If it works in safe mode, it's probably an app causing a weird glitch.
Same thing happened to me a few months ago, solved with a factory reset.
Did this get resolved, I have a pixel3 that will only stay turned off of the charger cable is connected. everything else works fine.
Latest Android 11, multiple factory resets and still will not stay shutdown.
Power button does not seem to be stuck, doubletap for camer works flawlessly and so does any other function I can think of.
