G5 won't boot system or recovery - Moto G5 Questions & Answers

Hey, my G5 suddenly stopped booting. It's running the Pixel Experience and teamwin 3.2.1-0 Recovery.
System boot stops and motorola logo. Recovery boot stops at teamwin logo.
Fastboot does not work, adb works at teamwin logo. Adb recognizes the device in recovery mode.
Any Ideas what's wrong or where to start? Would love to access my data...
sdcard and external_sd foders seem to empty...
thanks

[Q] Stuck on boot X after clockwork

ISSUE FIXED!! SEE SECOND POST.
Just bought a Nexus 7 2013 and I was trying to root it with adb and clockwork on Ubuntu. The install went ok, but when I tried to reboot it got stuck on the Google logo.
So I rebooted it again and tried installing TWRP. I now have access to recovery via TWRP, however the device is still stuck on the X boot screen.
I'm sure I can try and load a custom ROM, but is there a way to try and fix this and use the current ROM?
I have tried holding the power for 1 minute like advised on another thread, but that did not work.
The two files I have used:
recovery-clockwork-touch-6.0.3.1-grouper.img
openrecovery-twrp-2.6.0.0-flo.img
Thanks,
Vic.
ISSUE FIXED!!
- Downloaded the original system files from here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2381582
- Rebooted device in fastboot, connected to PC and ran
Code:
fastboot flash system system.img
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot -w
fastboot reboot
- Device came up and working, so I rebooted it again in fastboot
- Connected to PC and
Code:
fastboot flash recovery openrecovery-twrp-2.6.0.0-flo.img
- Reloaded boot
- Went into recovery to confirm TWRP was working
- Rebooted device and uploaded UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.43.zip to downloads
- Rebooted in fastboot, the recovery and installed sudo

You have the correct recovery for twrp, but your clcokwork touch is for the old N7. That's probably what messed it up in the first place.

Made a mistake while fastboot

Hello everyone,
I was trying to root my Xperia XA1 Ultra
I did everything right, i did the commands :
adb devices
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot flash boot boot.img
Everything worked fine, then tried to flash the recovery
fastboot flash BOOT recovery.img
This is were i made the mistake and now my phone is booting on the recovery,
i tryed to do everything again, still booting on the recovery, so i tried to press Reboot>System
My phone restarted and now it's stuck on the "SONY" logo
I can't do anything anymore do you guys know how to fix that so i can have access to Android again?

lineage 14.1 sumire on xperia z5 dual nightmares. No root. Recovery mode inaccessible

After flashing the z5 dual with lineage-14.1-20180223-nightly-sumire-signed there is apparently no way to get root access back or even enter recovery mode. The advanced restart features do NOT work it boots back into the OS. AFAIK the hold volume-down and power button method does not work, though I was never able to get that trick to work on the dual, period. adb reboot recovery boots to the OS. Nothing works. Fastboot boot twrp.img boots to OS nothing works. I can't even remove lineage because flashtool is denied root access despite adb root access being turned on.
EDIT: I managed to root the device again, however the lineage recovery and bootloader power button options still do not work. This is good enough I guess.
Try fastboot flash twrp.img

Thanks for the reply, did you mean fastboot flash recovery twrp.img? I retried that again just now followed by fastboot reboot and it boots to the OS like normal. There was one small difference however, normally there is only a white experia screen while booting but that time it had the animated blue lineage(?) logo.

Stuck on Fastboot

Hi,
I got a rooted yureka 5.1.1 [privacy guard su mode] on which I tried to install lineage os but the recovery being cyanogen one I installed TWRP manager and flashed TWRP 3.2.1 which was shown to be successful. Now am unable to enter the recovery and instead am stuck on fastboot mode as when I press power button instead of starting the device it's flashing fastboot mode and yureka logo very fast. When connected to my PC it shows fastboot mode ..what to do?

Loop when booting into TWRP

I'm having problems booting into recovery with twrp installed. When I try, TWRP gets as far as showing it's splash screen, but then restarts, repeatedly re-showing the splash screen every 2-3 seconds. I can access the phone with adb while this happens, and I can therefore easily reboot to bootloader or system. Just cannot get into twrp recovery mode.
Using
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot boot recovery.img
to boot temporarily into TWRP works like a charm. It's the permanent installation of the image that fails.
The TWRP image I'm using is the unofficial version 3.3 from this URL: https:// unofficialtwrp.com/twrp-3-3-root-moto-g7-play/ (sorry about the spaces in the formatting ... as new user I'm not allowed to insert outside-links)
My phone model is XT1952-1
Any suggestions are appreciated.
