I was looking for devices I might have lying around to flash Pure OS / PhoSh linux to and noticed the L5 listed. Wouldn't it be a hoot to resurrect old single core phones with mobile linux?

We have a 64bit x86 CPU we all know that. But Asus did not give us 64bit Android. We may see 64bit Android from Asus in the future I hope.
But even custom roms are also 32bit x86 only. May I know why there isn't x86_64 rom? Is it because Asus side?
I'm just trying to learn more, not blaming anyone because of no 64bit. I want to know if we do not have x86_64 rom is because of Asus side or cm doesn't support x86_64 since most custom rom is based on cm?

Hi guys.....
I am nisarg shah. I just moved from moto e to lg g3 d851.
I have a question. Why we want only android based costom rom? I know its a android phone with optimus UI. But when itcomes to custom Rom, Why everyone wants cm based ROM?
Other OS still exist. There should be some group working on os like sailfish , ubuntu touch, web os, color os. Even device like moto g 1st gen is supported for sailfish OS. Your answeres will be appreciate.
Because Android is the most popular mobile OS, so there's no place for others systems

Android consumes highest power. And thats the main disadvantage of using android. While on other hand, sailfish is great at this. Along with this, it can run apks too. So sailfish would be a great choise if you consider it.
Hi,
I have Ubuntu on my laptop and it works fine and I like it. So I am wondering if there is a chance to see Ubuntu Touch for our device?
If yes, is it a big deal as a mobile OS to have instead of Android?
If no, is it possible to port it myself, as an inexperienced user?
Thank you, and sorry for my English.
Ubuntu touch still using KitKat branch as base for they OS and the lowest Android OS for Nexus 5X are Marshmallow, so it's not possible to porting that except Ubuntu are updating the base branch to Marshmallow.
hi everyone
i have two questions :
1-is there any os other than android for S9 like Sailfish os , librem5 pure os , ubuntu touch or any linux touch friendly ?
Sailfish may be the closest because it is on several devices. also is there any developer can make a rom for s9 ?
2-if i have any android device that has Qualcomm SDM636 . am i able to install Sailfish os made for sony xperia 10 on that device since sony xperia 10 uses Qualcomm SDM636 chipset?
thanks in advanced

I have an asus transformer pad K018. I unlocked the bootloader and installed the Twrp V2.8.7.0
I would like to install a version of Lineageos or any other Custom ROM with more recent Android than the original.
For this tablet there are no custom Roma, but there are similar Asus, i.e. Zenfone 2 the 550ml and 551ml (but are for smartphones).
The Ardware is similar, both my tablet and the other two Zenfone 2, they mount an Intel Atom:
My K018 tablet has an Intel Atom Z2560 Dual Core CPU of 1.6GHz and graphic chip/GPU SGX544 MP2
Zenfone 2 have Intel Atom Z3580 CPU and graphic chop/GPU Powervr G6430.
I was following a guide to install Lineage OS 14.1 (Nougat 7.1.1) on Zenfone 2 where the Custom ROM is differentiated, i.e. for the ZE551ML-Z00A model and another Ze550ml-Z008.
At this point I stopped to reflect if you could put a ROM for Zenfone 2 on my tablet K018 because they are specific to the product number of the product ..
My question is: can I try to put a rom for Zenfone 2 on Tablet Asus K018, since the hardware is similar, or not (i.e. it must be a custom rom created only and only for the K018?
If I try to put Zenfone 2 Rom on Tablet K018, the tablet goes to Brick.
I touched this article:
How to build your ROM OS Lineage using the source code.
As I have already said, many developers create the Linegerom operating system is for Android device and you can download their unofficial builds. But what happens if the device is not listed in the previous list means that no ROM OS Lineage is available for the device. In this case, the last option remains to fill in its personalized rom of the Lineage operating system using the source code. However, the compilation of personalized Roma is complex and it is impossible for a person not so geek to understand the entire process ...
Thank you all for any answers.
