After a boot loop i had to reinstall stock firmware.
After that, i have installed TWRP and recovered my backup, everything is fine.
Now i notice that every notification is delayed for about 15 minutes. Whatsapp, GMail, everything.
When i made the backup, i did not have any issue with notifications.
Any idea?
App's are not in hibernate or whatever, i've checked everything!
Edit;
This happens only 2 minutes after engaging the lock screen. When unlocked, i get the notifications.
Hm fixed it. XDA aint what it used to be...
What did you do to fix it?

Today I took a picture with my phone and my phone froze up shortly after viewing the picture for some odd reason. So I soft reset it with a battery pull. When I started my phone back up I received a few error messages. The first one was that the DRM Content process had stopped unexpectedly (I think this was happening before my phone froze up). The second one was that the Messaging process had stopped unexpectedly, and the third was Handcent stopping unexpectedly.
After this happened I tried opening up Handcent, to which it displays the same force close error for a split second and then automatically closes. I uninstalled Handcent and tried opening the regular Messaging application, to which it displays some sort of force close error for a split second and then closes.
I was running the SyndicateROM Frozen 1.1.0. I tried updating to the ACS SyndicateROM Frozen 1.1.1 to see if it would fix my problem. It didn't
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to troubleshoot this?
You had journaling off. You can't reboot the phone without powering off or you wind up with data corruption and force closes. You need to reflash your rom and then use the re eable journaling zip in the development section. Also it wouldn't hurt if you researched things before posting, there have to be > 50 posts about this.

Download enable journaling from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1071723
Flash it after you reflash your rom.
I flashed the reenable journaling zip after reflashing my ROM. The DRM Content force close error still pops up when I boot up, and my Messaging is still crashing :/. What am I missing? Or could there be another problem?

Have you tried a different kernel? Or something you are restoring from Titanium or Mybackup is causing.
I would start from scratch go back to stock, reroot with cwm 3.0.2.5, d/l ext4 conversion here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1109362, flash ext4 conversion, flash Frozen 1.1.1, flash journaling enable. Do not restore anything see if you still have the issue. If not then something you are restoring is causing your issue.
I don't have Titanium or Mybackup. The only backups I have are within CWM, made from flashing my ROM. I will try what you suggested, thanks.
Edit:
To go to stock, do I just wipe data/factor reset from CWM? Also is there any way to do what you said while still retaining all of my contacts/texts? I cannot lose my SMS history. There is valuable information within.

Mybackup does txt and sms backups. Make sure you do a nan backup also just in case. You need to odin back to stock. Go here for step by step

Okay, I tried a bunch of SMS backup programs to no avail. Every one I tried would either crash or throw an error when it tried to back up my text messages.
I went back to stock, wiped my data/cache/system, and then flashed back Frozen 1.1.1 again. Everything worked fine until I tried recovering my data. The Messages process crashes again after recovering my data
Is my SMS history unrecoverable?
Is sms crashing or just the back up of the sms? What are you using to back up and recover your txt?

The whole reason this started was because my SMS messages application started crashing. I am trying to recover my texts. I tried using 5 or 6 SMS backup utilities, but to no avail. I didn't try anymore because I figured none of them are going to work. Something in my SMS history is borked :/
Thinking the same thing sorry. Not sure if someone else has any ideas. Do you have a nan backup from before the issue started? Yeah you might lose some txt but not all.
I'm on completely stock recovery, ROM and kernel. The phone is only rooted. The music and audio skip like crazy when the screen is off. I tried factory reset and it seems OK. But after I restored the apps using Titanium Backup, the problem came back. I also tried uninstalling some of the apps, and checked with the music player. It seemed the problem disappeared for half a day and it came back by itself. At the beginning I thought it may be a ROM or kernel problem, since it happens in every music player. But I'm on stock ROM and kernel and uninstalling some apps fixed the problem for a short period of time. I'm really confused now. What else should I try? Thank you very much.
Only restore apps with tibi, no data... See if that works

Thanks. After another factory reset, I restored most of the apps without data. The skipping problem is gone now. I will wait till tomorrow to see if the problem will come back.
UPDATE 1: The problem came back again. I didn't install any new app.
UPDATE 2: Gave up. I just installed setCPU. Set the screen-off profiler to Ondemand. Problem solved! So weird.
Yesterday my phone was acting weird - Poweramp was starting at boot, Poweramp told me it couldn't verify my license, I had no media volume (but system volume was ok), my lock screen was being bypassed on boot, S-voice was starting whenever I put headphones in, no sound from bluetooth, etc. Weird stuff.
After troubleshooting and coming up empty, I took a backup with Clockworkmod, then restored to a backup I took on the 4th. When I rebooted, apps started crashing non-stop. Not only gapps, but also twitter, dropbox, etc. Every 1-3 seconds I'd get a couple of crashes. I also get a lot of notifications (not in crash windows) that it "cannot open database". These appear across the bottom of the screen, like when I'm notified that an app has received superuser access. It happens so often I can't even shut the phone off - I have to pull the battery.
I restored to a backup I took on January 10th and got the same thing. I restored back to the backup I'd just taken, same thing. I wiped the cache and the dalvik cache, same thing. I reflashed my gapps, but that didn't fix anything. I tried to remove my google account, but I can't get into the menu because the phone's crashing too fast.
So far, the only way I can get a usable phone is by performing a factory reset and setting up my phone again.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can get my data back? I have an app backup from January some time using My Backup Pro, but I don't want to lose a month's worth of data if at all possible.
I'm running a rooted Galaxy S3 (AT&T) on Stock 4.3. I've been messing with Xposed for the past couple days, but disabled almost all of the modules while trying to troubleshoot the issue (and it seemed stable before it started acting weird while I was shoveling snow). Also, only the most recent backup has Xposed installed.
Thanks in advance.
UPDATE: I was able to remove my Google account and this initially stopped the Google apps from constantly crashing, but other apps continued to crash. After a minute or so, the Google apps started crashing again.
I was able to restore a much older backup (4.0) and this seemed to work ok for the few minutes I tested it.
I did a factory reset on 4.3, which seemed ok, but when I started restoring my apps through My Backup Pro, android.process.acore started crashing every second or so. I cleared the cache, but it didn't fix the problem (in fact, it started crashing on the lock screen, which hadn't happened before.)
I'm starting to wonder if I need to flash a new ROM because something not backed up by Clockworkmod is FUBAR.
As far as I can tell, the causes of my issues were:
I think my CWM was messed up. When I flashed CM11 to get a working ROM, I saw there was an update pending. I installed that and it seemed to fix the problem with making new backups. I don't think I'll be able to recover the backups from before, but at least I can make new backups now.
I think the android.process.acore issue was the result of the My Backup Pro backup being from CM10.1 when I was trying to restore to Stock 4.3. I think there was some system data in there that wasn't compatible with stock. Selecting only the 3rd party apps that I "needed" to install seemed to resolve this.
I don't know about the original sound issue. I got a ticket response from Poweramp saying it was a Google account mismatch issue. I hadn't made any changes, so my guess is that somehow the account was corrupted. I don't know if removing/adding the account would have made a difference, since the whole thing blew up before I could try. It's also possible that something else got corrupted that caused the volume issue. Volume works fine now that I have a new ROM, so it was definitely not a hardware issue with the headphone jack. I backup restore or factory reset might have fixed the problem, but I don't know for sure.
Are there any recovery methods to get text back after a factory reset that were not backed up to the cloud?
Yesterday the 7.2 update to Swipe for Facebook bricked my device. It was completely unrecoverable. Could not even boot into safe mode to uninstall the app. As soon as my phone would unlock, the screen would go black, then crash to recovery giving a corrupt data message. I had to factory reset. For some reason even though my phone was setup over 48 hours before this happened, the backup function did not back up my texts. I've lost over a years worth of data, some vital to my work. Any help is appreciated.

I use SMS backup and restore from the play store. It is free to. The google cloud backup is Hit or Miss sometimes it'll back I'm up sometimes it won't. SMS app restores all your pictures and everything else that were in the text. And it saves everything to the cloud if so you choose. I think the only thing you could do that might work is do another factory reset and pick a different cloud backup.

You can try logging into your Carriers website and see if you have some sort of web texting enabled... Or give your carrier a call as well.
I know for a fact AT&T and Verizon have this option (but may not be enabled by default), not sure of others. Other than that, If you didn't have an app backing them up, you may be out of luck :/
Good luck!
hey guys, so i've an interesting problem that I've searched all over xda and google, but can't find a definitive answer/solution. Here goes:
I recently unlocked the bootloader of my t-mobile z2 force. rooted via temp flashing TWRP and magisk, everything went fine, no issues. restoring my phone went great, got a few "app unexpectedly closed" type messages every now and then, but it's settled down for the most part. the problem is that, periodically, my phone will lose sync with google (i think that's whats happening anyway). I will have no contacts in my phone app, text messages cannot be received, gmail fails to open, calendar has no events, etc etc. a quick reboot fixes everything, but then it will randomly happen again, with no indication, other than i think "i haven't recv'd any texts recently, lemme check" and i find it's happened again.
I hope this makes sense, because I'm not even sure i'm looking up the right thing in google or other xda forums. Has anyone experienced this? anyone know the answer?
Thanks in advance
Just a bump...anybody run into this or have any ideas?
I haven't had any problems like thoes. My Bluetooth goes a lil dumb from time to time and when I have wifi and Bluetooth on at the same time Bluetooth will just loose signal randomly. I'm just stock Rooted on T-Mobile.

My suggestion is to unroot, clear cache and Dalvik, and re root. See what happens and post results. Your app permissions are on for Google correct?
fastboot boot <TWRP file name>.img
Only now that you’re inside TWRP temporarily flash the TWRP .zip file you’ve saved into the phone
Reboot into TWRP again, flash Magisk

Thanks. Yes all permissions are granted for Google app. I also stopped battery optimization for it and any other phone related apps I could find. I'll give this a shot.
