Ok, so I updated my s3 to 4.1.1 but after a week of using the update, I still hadn't seen any sign of the expandable notification options. So I decided to re-install the update by flashing via Odin, which I did. After the flash, the expandable notifications still weren't available, so I instead flashed the stock firmware, hoping to update from stock and see if the problem was fixed. Unfortunately when I rebooted after the stock install, my phone would no longer connect to data, or even to the network period. I can't text, make calls, or connect to data. It shows full bars but when I try to do anything it tells me the network is unavailable.
I tried a lot of options for fixing it:
-I checked all my network settings. Data was on, I switched into and out of airplane mode, no luck.
-I tried to set my network operator by manually selecting tmobile. No luck.
-I tried re-entering T-Mobile's APN settings. No luck.
-I tried to restore from a backup I made of my 4.1.1 when it was first updated. No luck.
-I tried flashing multiple versions of stock firmware, as well as cm10. No luck.
-I checked my IMEI, it's correct.
-I flashed a few different modems. No luck.
I've run out of ideas and I can't find any other ideas in the forums. The closest I have come to getting a fix was during one instance when I was flashing stock again, I cleared my cache, dalvik cache, and did a factory reset as well as formatting my internal storage. When it did the first boot it had service for about thirty seconds. I was able to receive a few waiting text messages, and I had edge data for the remainder of the 30 second or so period. Then I lost data again. Every time I boot a notification ticks on my status bar that says "Restricted Access Changed" and before I can pull down and tap it, the notification is gone. When I try to set a Network Operator, it says something along the lines of "Unable to connect, not registered on the network." I'm stumped.
Has anybody else had this problem, and does anybody know how to fix it?
Just a guess, but perhaps T-Mobile has blocked your IMEI? Did you buy the phone off of someone or straight from T-Mobile?
Did you ever report it lost or stolen?
Only thing I can think of given your scenario.

I bought it through Costco as an authorized upgrade offer by T-Mobile. I can't imagine any reason why my IMEI would be blocked. I went to the t-mobile store yesterday and they told me that it should be working and that I should take it back to Costco and see if they can do anything for me in terms of replacement.
Problem Solved!
Apparently it was because when I got my phone they didn't give me the upgraded sim, they just cut my current one to fit the microsim slot. Go figure. This could have been solved by tmobile last night if the guy hadn't refused to help me just because I had rom manager installed on my phone. Just because I have a root program installed on my phone doesn't mean my phone got messed up playing around with root. Anyways, i updated my sim card through tmobile's phone service and I'm a happy camper now!
Hello, thanks to my carelessness, I think I broke my dual sim functionality.
What I was doing was messing around in the network settings in Engineer mode that can be accessed using *#36446337#. And all of a sudden, both sims stopped working. After a lot of messing around with the RAT settings, I could get one of the sims working. After selection sim1 or sim2 in the options and changing the RAT settings for that sim, I can get said sim to work, but it breaks the other. No matter what I do, I can't get both working again. This was on Open Beta 9.
What I've tried doing since then:
1- Factory reset
2- Flashing another ROM (Lineage)
3- Flashing latest 4.0.4 firmware
nothing seems to get both sims to work. Always just 1 sim working. Does anyone have any thoughts what I could try?

Just do a full wipe with the unbrick tool and everything will be back to normal.
I have the same problem after I mess with the engineer mode.
Tried everything and still unsolved.
Try installing the modem or firmware of previous oxygen OS builds then updating the oxygen os

Yes, I tried the unbrick tool but it's still the same. It seems to me that the GSM/WCDMA band of the phone is broken. When put two LTE card into the phone, both can work under LTE band.

Installed the OOS3.0 and then updated to OOS4.0. Dual sim function won't work on both OS.
Flashing modem usually can solve signal lost on Samsung, but it seems that it won't work on Oneplus.

Well you just said you are a noob.. No problem but really dialing a number isn't going to break anything in your phone.. Wipe all partitions then Flash OOS 4.0.2 and o guarantee it will work, this is pure something in software level.
I have successfully fix the problem according to a post at Oneplus Community in China. Just Flash Official H2OS 2.5 (Android 6.0.1 ). Go to engineer mode. Choose Network Set -- Band mode --Hardware Default (Foreign) to fix the problem.
P.S. If you are in mainland China. Pls choose Hardware Default(China). Else choose (Foreign)

I recently updated to Android 9 on my Note 8 SM N950U (Verizon phone using Straight Talk Service) that was previously running Android 7 without any issues. After the update I have no data connection and I am unable to change my apns, add apns, or reset apns. I have tried every option I have found except factory resetting the phone. Any ideas on a way to fix this or do I need to go back to 7?

You aren't going back to 7 that's for sure! Try going into the reset settings and reset all the network settings.
I have tried resetti g the network settings and it still doesn't work.

I don't know what to tell you other than to try a factory reset at this point and before you do a factory reset get Samsung's Smart Switch app from the play store because it'll backup and save all your stuff to an SD card so it can be restored later.. Personally I think that's not going to work either because I don't think this firmware upgrade has been made to work with Straight Talk.. That being said, I could be wrong and a factory reset might work so it's worth a shot.
Hello Guys
With unlocked bootloader, I have been to China and used local sim over there.
Now I am back to India and none of Indian SIM cards are getting detected by phone.
I tried all possible options, did reset..downgraded to Oreo also..but no luck. What ever sim card I try, it's not getting detected.
In device info, it's showing mobile radio is off, tried switching on several times..but no luck.
Can someone pls help me ASAP.
Regards
Pavan
Try resetting network settings or hard reset the device and also try flashing factory image if previous doesn't work.
If your bootloader is locked then try reaching customer support. Else, you can try restoring some efs/modem backup using twrp.
Do you get any notification when you insert the sim tray?
I may be wrong just sharing my 2 cents.
Same problem here (or similar, at least).
My 5z recognized the SIM card on both slots, but no signal.
Tried all of the four carriers from Brazil, tried a hard reset, tried the Android Q beta, switched back to Pie, nothing works.
BTW, I've seen three devices with similar problems recently. One Samsung, and two Motorolas. All of them was updated to Pie. Could be some update bug?
My problem was fixed after the May update that was released a few days ago.
Everything working fine, 4G, LTE, etc.

Hello! I updated my phone to MIUI Global 13.0.7 Stable (SKHINXM) and suddenly my phone has no service. The sim card is fine and working on other phones like it was before the update. Really unable to fix this issue. If it helps, in the testing window the 'Mobile Radio Power' is toggled off and however many times I try to switch it on, it automatically switches off. Please help! Thanks

13.0.7 Stable (SKHINXM) is a stable beta.
Try to reset the phone or if your bootloader is unlocked flash with this tool

Will flashing the file lead to me losing all data? Apologies if it's a stupid question

Okay thank you! Will try it in a few days time once I am able to give it the time needed.
It is happening to me too, I'm on stock 13.0.4 SKHMIXM, bootloader locked, it happened in 13.0.3 too. Sometimes, I see I have no services, no data, no GPS. But WiFi works great, so if I'm in house I don't always see it, but it means I cannot receive call!!!
I tried to enable/disable sim/data/location/airplane/etc nothing works.
Only way to re-make it works is to reboot the phone, and after 2 or 3 weeks it will happen again, this is the price to pay to have cheap chinese phone...
Try booting into Android with Safe Mode. (and disable Airplane Mode if enabled)
Power + Volume Up > Safe Mode
Or try this:
Settings > Updater > Tap on the "13" several times, this will enable additional Updater-features. Download the latest package and install it.
My guess is that your update may have been corrupt.
Other than that.. Factory Reset or connecting phone to PC and flashing ROM using Fastboot & Mi Flash or Terminal.
I've 13.0.7 and everything's flawless.
So the Xiaomi service center told me that it is possibly a motherboard issue. How can a software update suddenly awaken a hardware issue?
So I had not unlocked my bootloader via my Mi account and it needs mobile data for the same and hence I am unable to flash it since my network is still unavailable even after a factory reset. Any other way I can flash my phone with an older version of MIUI or I will have to submit my phone to the service center?

Could you elaborate the whole process? I do not know how to do this. Thanks
Same issue i am facing after MIUI updation for 13.0.3.0 SJCINXM ... suddenly all networks are vanished ... if i do manual search for networks then i get a message 'Couldn't search for mobile networks' . Voice call is only possible if wifi is enabled.. This is really a horrible experience and i am unable to find out a way to get rid of this situation.. I am using Redmi 9 Prime handset .. Before this update everything was surperb and flawless.
It is still happening with the latest Android 13 and MIUI14, it's frustrating... sometimes when the phone switch wifi/lte/wifi/lte/etc when you go outside, the modem crashes, it internally bootloop and the phone becomes warm and can lose 25% battery in like 15 minutes. Only way is to reboot the phone.
I had a similar problem. Were you able to solve it?
